Nice local establishment! Tasty eats with friendly staff in a quaint atmosphere & outdoor seating.

I did not have a reservation but Cure found a seat for me which I appreciated. I ordered a bourbon based drink which had a smooth profile. The meal was delicious and I had the wine braised short ribs. The short ribs were well seasoned. The restaurant has a great neighborhood feel. It does not feel touristy even though it is right downtown. Great meal great atmosphere.

Had another top notch meal at Cure. It was super chilly and we were eating outside (with heaters but still quite cold). We started with lobster bisque to warm up and it was spot on. Our drinks & corn bread were delicious as well. By the time our mains were coming up our waitress had secured us a spot inside to eat them. She was lovely & we were grateful! It's a solid choice when in the area.

I was super excited when I saw the reviews for this restaurant as well a Phantom Gourmet video praising it highly. I decided to make a reservation to take advantage of their special promotion during Restaurant Week. I made a reservation through Open Table and our table was ready when we arrived. Place is small but tables are well spaced to allow for privacy. We were presented with their restaurant week menu as well as a limited regular menu for add-ons. Our order was taken in a timely manner and with a smile. I started with the coconut carrot ginger soup for my starter. I added a grilled bread basket with butter as it is not included with your meal and I like bread with my soup. The soup was a decent soup and the bread was slight charred in places. As for my main course, I went with the braised short ribs served with polenta and roasted root vegetables. The red wine demi glace was good and the root vegetables were inconsistently roasted as some were a little too hard and some mushy. Short ribs were not consistently seasoned as I got salty in some bites and well seasoned in others. I was disappointed that my short ribs were stringy as well and that was not what I expected. The dessert was an apple tart. The shell was somewhat hard and difficult to cut into with the spoon provided. Flavors were good. My overall experience was that it was just ok but nothing stood out to me as out of the ordinary or special about it. So go if you want to and maybe your experience will be better than mine.

Excellent food, vibes, and hospitality! The first sign I saw when I entered the restaurant was one that said "Elevated Comfort Food" behind the hostess stand, and that's exactly what we got! All the food tasted delicious, and the lobster mac and cheese was the best I ever tried. We placed an order of the chai pear creme brulee in advance, and good thing we did, because they ran out! All the staff were incredible, and we loved our dinner experience. We'll be back the next time we're in Portsmouth!

Upscale American cuisine worth the splurge! We got the Escargot a la Bourguignonne, Lobster Bisque, and two Pan Roasted Duck Breast. The escargot was a unique, tasty dish and the bisque was rich and creamy. There was a bit of a wait for our entrees, ~25 mins. But, it was worth it as the duck was cooked exactly medium and the dish overall was great. Unfortunately, the balsamic vinegar in the dish overpowered the other flavors at points so that's one point for improvement

Book a reservation now! We came here not expecting much but were blown away by the experience. We ordered the peanut butter and jelly pork ribs, French onion soup, lobster Mac and cheese, red wine braised short rib, and pan roasted duck breast. The French onion soup and lobster Mac and cheese were heavenly and indulgent. We sat on the back patio which was covered and heated. Definitely a gem to check out in Portsmouth.

The service was exceptional, our waitress was so friendly and welcoming. We ordered the French onion and lobster bisque which were equally both amazing. We then got the crab cakes and lobster Mac and cheese which was the best I ever had. It was a great date night spot with an intimate ambiance. I definitely recommend coming here.

The name says it all and if there's a cure for your insatiable appetite this is the spot! First off I really enjoyed the setting of the eatery situated in an old but upscale brick building and the interior was cozy. Our severs were great and made sure we had a wonderful experience. When we saw the Red Wine Braised Short Ribs on the menu we knew we had to give it a try and it didn't disappoint. The crispy yet moist inside of the creamed spinach croquette is the base of this plate of a hearty sized melt in your mouth short ribs in a French bordelaise sauce topped with finely fried potato spirals and a side of herb roasted baby carrots. We also got the Pan Seared Scottish Salmon in a orange cream on a bed of cranberry pistachio wild rice and maple carrots. I'd place this restaurant on one of my top places I've visited in a while. Loved it!

Our meal was delicious. Best meal we have had in New England. No notes. The restaurant was cute and rustic. We didn't have a reservation but still had a nice table up front. Service was excellent. Overall it was a lovely dining experience.

I went for restaurant week, and everything was amazing. I found the options for each course more appealing than those of any other restaurants participating in restaurant week. I had the chili, bourbon pork with cornbread pudding, and brownie, and I loved it all. The brownie wasn't too sweet, and the homemade whipped cream was perfect. Our server was attentive without making us feel rushed. It is a little noisy inside, but the dining room is nice and cozy. I would love to go back one day.

It is sometimes difficult to score a seat due to the popularity of the restaurant as well as the size. However, managed to walk in on a weeknight and score a seat on the patio. Ordered a blood orange martini, which was delicious along with the Stattler chicken dish on the menu. My waiter Jeffrey was outstanding and delivered impeccable service. He accidentally typed in the wrong dish which the kitchen made. Hence, I had to wait extra long for my meal. However, Jeffrey and kitchen were gracious and the kitchen brought out some cornbread due to the wait. That was fantastic! This restaurant gets five stars from me for their innovative menu, clever cocktails, and impeccable service from the staff. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

I had the pleasure of meeting a very cute dog who was celebrating his 18th birthday at the bar along with his two furry friends and their owners. Loved that the people at the bar were friendly and conversational even though I was a newcomer. We ordered some $5 Happy Hour cocktails, which were really great as they are made with brand name alcohol such as Stoli, Deep Eddy and Tangueray rather than no name alcohols from the well. Food happy hour specials were great too - The Waygu Beef Hotdog was served on a buttered and grilled roll and hot the spot. The fried pickles were good as well, although next time I'll ask for them extra crispy. Great place with friendly customers and employees, excellent service, and good food. We sat at the bar and were handed menu's and our drink order taken. The bartender was friendly and pleasant. She clearly knew the other occupants of the bar as they discussed their families, co-workers and local news. She wasn't quite as verbose with us, but why would she? We had more than enough time to make our selections, and even though we weren't in a hurry, it did feel like a long time. Still, the longer we stay, the more we drink. Right? So that works for tips. ;D She did eventually come over to take our food order between chatting, refilling drinks, welcoming more locals and taking care of bar set-up duties. So she was busy. This is a bar more than a restaurant, and the food was good. There seems to be one person on the bar and one in the kitchen. At least at lunch time. Our food came out at the same time, was warm and well prepared. The bartender put things we may need on the bar top near us: ketchup, forks, etc. and left us to it. She did check on refills during our visit. There is a small restroom opposite the bar that was clean. The ambiance here is neighborhood bar where you come to drink and spend time with your neighbors. Friendly. Not really a 'family' atmosphere. Especially with some of the language. Just FYI. It's a fair sized space and I suspect would be busy on a weekend evening. Definitely a lively spot.

Well, I'm happy that they were because dinner here was SOOOO good! The bartender helped us choose a bottle of champagne to start. We shared everything. One of each of the deviled eggs each. The maple cranberry was interesting. The sour cream chive one was to die for! The ricotta gnocchi was elegant and fluffy. The sauce made it over the top. The ribs were good, but I'm a Midwest girl. They just don't compare to back home. The clam linguine was seasoned perfectly. It was quite filling. We ended with the Apple Olive Oil cake with maple ice cream. The cake itself was quite dense and dry. The ice cream helped. I would not order this dessert again. Service was quite SLOWWWW, and for no reason as they weren't very busy while we were there. There were long gaps between courses and then once we were finished we kind of just sat there for a while. The food was worth it but something is not running efficiently and could be improved. Still giving 5 starts because it was so good and everyone was welcoming.

This quaint gastropub doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside, this seems like a place where locals are regulars and tourists are happy to get a table at this "no reservations" joint. It's dark inside (no photos) and a little cramped. The bartenders are serving double duty mixing and pouring drinks while also playing DJ and spinning vinyl records. And it felt like everyone inside was exactly where they wanted to be at the moment...enjoying each other's company and sharing drinks and food. The menu is about the size you would expect from a small kitchen - a fair number of appetizer dishes meant for sharing, and a handful of entrees, ranging from casual to a bit more refined. The grilled cheese and tomato soup ($19) was made with a hearty artisan bread that hit the spot on a chilly evening. Similarly, the coq au vin ($26) was classic comfort food, with perfectly cooked smashed fingerling potatoes surrounded by a rich, decadent reduction sauce smothering meaty mushrooms and soft pearl onions. Note, the coq au vin did take a long time to prepare, so not the dish to order if you're in a hurry. A couple of not-too-sweet lemon ricotta donuts (with chocolate sauce) was a great way to end the meal.

This was our first visit, and we tried the chicken sandwich, potstickers, and cauliflower. Everything had really good flavor and a nice level of spice, and the portions felt fair for the price. The chicken sandwich was tasty, although I thought the chicken itself could have been a little thicker and juicier. I also liked that they cut the sandwich in half, but the tape around it felt a little excessive and made it harder than it needed to be to actually eat. That said, the flavors were very good, the pricing felt reasonable, and I enjoyed both the food and the beer. From a value standpoint, I thought they did a lot right. The main thing that kept the experience from being better was the service on the patio. The staff was not unfriendly at all, but it was difficult at times to get someone's attention, and simple requests seemed to take longer than they should have. That's something I'm noticing more and more in restaurants lately. If guests are being asked to tip at full-service levels, there still needs to be consistent follow-through and attentiveness throughout the meal, especially on a patio where it can already be harder to get someone's attention. Overall, though, I would recommend the place. The food was flavorful, interesting, and reasonably priced, and I'd definitely be willing to come back and try more of the menu.

The Signature Burger was pretty good I will say I did ask them to add jalapeños to that order as well which gave it a awesome kick as well but I will say the bun was a little hard so each bite was a bit tough. That wasn't a horrible thing but it made the burger less appealing. None the less that doesn't defeat the FLAVOR because it was good ! The only thing I would've changed was the side.. the sweet potato fries although great normally turned out to be very soggy by the time I walked back to my hotel.
