We generally don't leave Yelp reviews except for superlatively great service and Cured & Whey definitely hit that mark in our recent experience with them. We recently were passing through Las Vegas on a trip to Zion National Park and wanted fancy up our camping trip. Since we're from California we checked if anyone sold foie gras in Vegas that we could pick up to eat in the park. On calling a few places ahead of time Cured & Whey was easily the best choice in terms of service and availability. Not only did they answer all our questions about their shop they were extremely prompt and clear about the options available for foie gras and beyond. Given that foie can be in the form of lobes, slices, torchons, pate, etc. we needed to make sure we were buying the best option for our limited camping cooking plans. Day of, we pulled up to the shop and found they were closed due to plumbing circumstances completely beyond their control. We called to double check there wasn't a mistake and to their enormous credit they answered and explained why they were closed. When they heard we were outside their door they very graciously met us and sold us the foie gras we were hoping for despite very trying circumstances on their end. PLUS, when they heard our plans they gifted us a couple small goodies for the trip. TL;DR Cured & Whey is absolutely incredible and the people that work there are exceedingly professional and kind. We only went there for one item and they were amazing so if you have the opportunity to avail yourself of their other products (prepared food, charcuterie boards, imported goods) you honestly couldn't do better than Cured & Whey. read more

Not really big on Turkey since it's typically too bland for my liking, but let me tell you, apparently if it's sandwiched in truffle and cheese deliciousness it becomes.. transcendent. As of the time of this review Cured & Whey was one of the few places in Vegas that mobilized its efforts to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. They offered fresh fruit and vegetable boxes at a GREAT price. The quality of the produce was far better than what I have experienced in the stores, and the quantity was a wonderful value. During a time when people were panic buying and flooding stores, Cured & Whey offered a wonderful alternative. Their process was very sanitary and included minimal foot traffic into their store with little to no handling of packaging, customer cards, etc. The store owner was very sweet and friendly and gave additional tips on how to properly sanitize the produce. He was very grateful and thanked me for my support. PLEASE SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES. Please buy your produce, and other items like meat, cheese, milk, etc. from these guys! To the lovely female brunette working behind the cheese counter. You are an angel sent from cheese heaven. The fact that you are a self-taught cheese genius is beyond impressive. You're right, the brie pairs perfectly with those orange crackers and so does the blue cheese. I would trust you with my life as long as any and all cheese is involved. This is a great spot to grab a weekday lunch to-go and also pick up a few things in their market for a DIY cheeseboard. They have a full sandwich menu as well as a small specialty market. Grab a spot at the community table while you wait for your food or enjoy it there. I've only been a few times and it's always been a hit for me. My only complaint is that they aren't open weekends. Searched the internet for a store that specializes in cheese and sausage and found Michaels Gourmet Pantry. The store is located among large warehouse buildings housing a multitude of businesses. Even with the address in hand I had some difficulty finding it since I did not have the suite number. Found a building with the name MGP and next door CuReD & wHeY which looked like a retail business. Walked in a found out that it is the retail operation for Michaels Gourmet Pantry which sells wholesale. The store is chock full many gourmet food items, such as olives. oils, crackers as well as a multitude of cheese and sausages. They also serve soup and sandwiches and have a few indoor tables. It was noon and there was a lunch crowd from the surrounding businesses. However I was waited on in a few minutes. The woman behind the counter was very helpful and I was able to try several cheeses and sausages. I was happy to find some to my liking. At check out I was asked if I would like an ice pack. We adore this place. We stopped by after a round of golf nearby to pick up some sandwiches. As we were waiting for our sandwiches, the staff let us taste some samples of cheeses. Omg. They were all so kind and helpful and so excited about the cheeses, which made us so excited about the cheeses! We ended up buying way more than we expected and we did not regret it one bit. The pecora rossa cheese they recommended was sooo delicious and my favorite. We ended up making a charcuterie with everything we bought and it was the perfect way to spend the Saturday. This is definitely a place you'd want to come to for the perfect charcuterie and cheese board. They have an extensive variety of meats and cheeses. Besides specialty cheeses and cured meats they also have a good selection of salts, oils, spices, noodles and the black truffle butter is a must! The Cuban ($9.50) - Porchetta Ham, Ham de Paris, Swiss Cheese, Bread and Butter Pickles, Dijon and House mojo Sauce. Lots of good flavor from the ham and pickles. Everything about this sandwich was a wonderful meld of flavors. Truffle Honey Grilled Cheese ($9.50) - Brie, Fresh Buffalo Mozzarella, Savini Truffle Sauce, Acacia Honey and White Truffle Sea Salt. This should definitely be the sandwich you try. It's chocked full of amazing flavor and just so damn good! The bread holds all the cheesy goods in and is grilled perfectly. Well worth the money. I also had shared a large Organic Pressed Coffee with a friend and we both really enjoyed it. Cured & Whey, tucked away in an industrial complex. I drove around for a bit in the parking lot trying to locate it. Thankfully I had a friend who scouted ahead and helped to give me directions. I browsed the menu for a minute (there wasn't much to it). I picked through the different sandwiches and salads, seeking out the vegetarian options, which there weren't many of. I ended up settling on the Greek Salad. There was only two tables to sit at inside the restaurant. We ended up getting a corner of a table. The salad itself was good though I found that the portion size was underwhelming. It would have been better paired with bread or a heftier portion size. Honestly, leaving I felt cheated. I dislike with a passion leaving after a meal still feeling hungry while also being a little bit poorer. I had shelled out about 12 bucks for lunch and I was still hungry. This place has been on my list of places to check out for some time. The husband and I were out running some errands and decided to check it out. Surrounded by warehouses, it can be easily overlooked. The restaurant and store portion is simple, yet charming. When we entered, we were promptly greeted by the ladies behind the counter. We browsed the shop for a minute and then placed our order at the counter before taking a seat at one of the two large communal tables. We ordered the charcuterie and cheeseboard for two, the duck rueben, the butternut squash soup (special of the day), and a french press coffee. The soup came out first and was phenomenal. The creamy goat cheese, spiced candied nuts, and herb oil played well together. Next out was the duck rueben with a side of assorted pickles. The sandwich was perfection! The flavors were well balanced and left you wanting more. Roxanne came out with the board last which left other diners envious. The beautiful display of assorted cheeses, meats, and accoutrements were placed with such precision. Each section, of the board, was well thought out and paired to perfection. Sufficient to say that we cleaned every bowl, basket, and board. At the end of our meal, before we paid, Roxanne gave us a tour of the back facility. The fact that they are part of a food proveyor and have access to such amazing product makes for an exciting dining experience. I love everything about this place and would like to keep it a Vegas secret for selfish reasons but everyone should know about it if they don't already. I randomly searched for a place near my new office and I stumbled upon this beauty! It happens to be right around the corner only a mile away. Lucky me! It all started out as a supply house for restaurants and hotels and making sure they had the best cheeses and meats. Now they have a storefront and feeding the public as well serving up some amazing charcuterie & cheese plates, sandwiches, salads, homemade soups, and all sorts of delicious imported goodies that you can buy and take home. Order takeout or enjoy your food in the shop but keep in mind they have limited seating. I'm making my way through the entire menu and so far I've been having multiple foodie orgasms with everything I've tried. The truffle honey grilled cheese blew me away and I love their watermelon & feta salad! I've also tried the Spaniard & P.B. & duck with cranberry jam panini's and their gazpacho which have all been fantastic. I was overjoyed to find Cured & Whey to cater a grazing board for our destination micro-wedding reception in Las Vegas. Janell listened to my vision and curated a beautiful and delicious board of cheeses, charcuterie, and other bite-sized treats. We coordinated everything over phone and email without issue. My husband and I ended up picking up the board ourselves on our way to the reception (they can't deliver to hotels) because our friends were too inebriated to drive, but we were glad we got to meet Janell and her team in person and thank them. All of our guests loved the grazing board, and we enjoyed our little extra "to go" boxes of treats to graze on after the guests left. Her name is Diana, she super well versed in the wonder world of fine fromage. She even makes the fresh mozzarella in house daily. Michael & Cathy, the owners of Cured and Whey are some of the most warm hearted people I've come across in the valley. I noticed through the year of knowing them that they support a great load of Chef's and culinary do-gooders in the community with donation of their fine products. I had one of the best soups I've tried in my life at this shop, it was a creamy artichoke soup that sent my taste buds into a dreamy ride of flavor explosiveness. I also loved their goat cheese and beet sandwich on a baguette. This shop carries Sandhill Dairy which is a fantastic Nevada raised dairy from Fallon. Another product I enjoyed from this shop was a cured duck bacon. I loved it and gave been dreaming about it's flavor since I've last had it. I also enjoyed a Saba I purchased here, & Spanish honey! Their selection of olives are limited but fantastic.
