It appeared that the single bartender was overwhelmed as our drink order took longer than it should have, but we finally got our drinks. Met up with a group of friends for food and refreshments. I was eager to try this place because it is a different style all together of the other restaurant in the family. 1 food did not disappoint. Knowing this family of restaurants and their culinary inspired gastro treats, I wasn't sure what to expect.. It is challenge innovate Mexican while also not bastardized favorites. 2 I didn't try any of the specialty cocktails but definitely will look next time. Now that I know the kind of delectable creations this group makes, worth experimenting!. 3 It wasn't a 5* experience because of the service. I think our waiter was brand new to being a waiter. He wasn't engaging, attentive, or accomodating. I arrived a few minutes after the rest. They had put orders in... The waiter came to the table several times bringing napkins or another menu... Ignoring me and my thirst. Once I got served I was better. 4 But then when I ordered food to go to eat for dinner at home.... He charged a 20% tip... Saying it was the group service tax. I protested that wasn't fair or right. I paid for my drink separately with the 20% and everybody else had food there and actually had service. He had forgotten to put in my to-go order so I actually had to order and wait until after everybody had left and they had cleared the table to get my to-go order and he still charged me 20% to to go dinners. His excuse was that it was the computer and there was nothing he could do about it. I CALL BS ... Somebody who actually cared about creating a good service experience for a large group, particularly ones that many of them had never been there before. Would not arbitrarily charge 20% on it to go burrito, And not even trying to get a credit off of it to the manager. I have been wanting to try this place for awhile, so here goes. I've been twice in the last month. Great space, good vibe, and great service. 1st time we sat outside on the patio. We ordered tableside guacamole to start. It was fantastic! I'm not really the guacamole person but this was prepared just right and served with the crispest tortilla chips. It was so good went back 2 weeks later and had it again! Yep, that good! We ordered Chicken Quesadillas, and I had a custom fish taco. I wanted mine fried vs. grilled. It was pretty good. We tried Curious Cantina and leaned into the "order a few things and share" approach, which ended up being the right move. I'll admit, the first thing I judge at Mexican restaurants is the salsa. If the salsa is on point, I instantly have higher hopes for everything else. Curious Cantina passed that test. They start you off with free chips and salsa, and the salsa was quite good. It wasn't your typical house salsa either. It had a deeper, slightly smoky flavor that tasted like the ingredients were grilled before being blended, and it immediately set the tone for the meal. And the chips deserve their own shoutout. These weren't your typical plain tortilla chips. They were dusted with a seasoning powder that put them over the top and made it hard to stop eating them. Next up was the birria sope. It came topped with lettuce, beans, and crema, and overall it was a solid dish. The only thing for me was the cheese, which could be a bit overpowering. Swapping to queso fresco would be a great move because it still adds that salty bite, but it crumbles and feels lighter, so it wouldn't take over the whole sope. Then we moved into the main event, the street taco plate with street fries and esquite on the side. The pulpo taco was the standout. Cooked really well, great texture, and the sauce that came with it pulled everything together. The birria taco had a good amount of meat and the avocado taco was a pleasant surprise too. One thing I found a little odd is that the tacos didn't come served with salsa. You can ask for salsas and they do have them, but I'd recommend either serving the tacos with salsa by default or letting people know up front that salsas are available. The street fries had a nice seasoning, but a good portion of mine were a bit hard to eat. On the other hand, the esquite was excellent and easily one of the stars of the meal. It genuinely reminded me of summers in Mexico. Service deserves a special mention. The staff was super friendly and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. I'm pretty sure the owner came by a few times to check in, which was a really nice touch. A+ on service. Overall, you can tell they're trying to keep the food authentic, which I really appreciate. One added touch I'd love to see on the non-alcoholic side would be Mexican Cokes and aguas frescas. I'd definitely be back, and I would 100% order more of those pulpo tacos. read more

Holy smokes this was a solid choice. We were in town for a conference and decided to try it out - we were not disappointed. Minus the toddlers running around the outside back patio like it was recess time. Get your kids, parents, I'd hate to see a server go down cause you're soft-parenting. First off the wait was ridiculous. There was a couple who came in after us and they got their drinks and food first. Plus we waited a hour and an half for our food. Then when we finally got our food, both of our taco shells were all moist and one looked like it had canned tuna and the other just had wet shrimp, l would not recommend this place. read more

Got there to pick up a Togo order, after the time said. Then the hostess asked what meat I wanted. Steak and chicken. I ordered fajita nachos. Steak and chicken. After another twenty minutes, I was handed a bag. Got home steak fajitas is what I got. Not a big deal. I don't mind a surprise. But the pork and beans, No kidding and rice was eh. I moved to Peachtree City about 3-4 months ago and have been disappointed by many of the restaurants here. Curious Cantina genuinely was the first restaurant I enjoyed in this city. I ordered the chicken fajita salad and it was soooo good. I would order it again next time. The chicken was juicy and the dressing tasted great. I have to give credit to Liam for the great service as our waiter. He was so polite and attentive. The prices are a little higher than a standard Mexican restaurant but the quality and taste of the food makes up for it. read more

We are so glad we discovered Curious Cantina! It has become one of our favorite go-to places for Happy Hour and more. They have a great indoor dining area, and, we LOVE their outdoor space - lots of shaded seating and an outdoor bar as well. Bartenders and servers are friendly and attentive. During Happy Hour, there are several drink specials, and all of their tacos (served on handmade corn tortillas) are $3 each - yum! Because of our experiences at CC, we hosted a family brunch there (about 20 people) on a Sunday last month. Morgan was great to work with planning the event from start to finish. We could not have been happier with the food, service and thoughtful "extras" provided that day. An added bonus (for our family anyway), is that Curious Cantina is great for those with a gluten allergy, including a dedicated fryer. And the freshly made tortilla chips are addicting! read more

This Curious is located in Peachtree City and focuses on authentic Mexican food and high-end cocktails. It is bright and airy with an indoor/outdoor bar and uncovered patio. I ordered salsa, grilled lobster taco, and carne asada taco. The salsas were fresh and I particularly enjoyed the salsas rojas. The carne asada taco was tasty with its grilled corn tortilla and great steak char. The lobster lacked flavor and was overwhelmed by the pineapple. We tried the Curious Cantina for lunch one Sunday (right after it opened, it sounded like it could get really crowded for dinners). Parking is in the huge shared plaza lot, so that won't be a problem. We were about the 2nd or 3rd party to arrive. We were seated promptly. The dining room is basically an L-shape surrounding a large bar well-stocked with tequilas. The menu is not your standard Tex-Mex, which is fine. They had a variety of taco options and some other dishes as well. My wife opted for some sort of sandwich, that she thought was okay. You can get 2 tacos and make it a combo plate with rice and beans, which I did. I think I got one steak and one chorizo. Both the tacos were fresh and flavorful. My wife tried one and liked it also. Whenever we return, I expect we'll both focus on tacos. The bill was reasonable, and the staff was friendly. Depending on my mood, if I want Mexican food but don't feel like getting standard Tex-Mex, I'll likely return here. read more

We went on a Sunday , the last day of their soft opening, and although they were busy, the service was prompt. I moved here from Texas last year and walked out of Curious Cantina a happy customer and impressed with DJ's margaritas (I'm a hard Mexican food and margarita critique). On our third visit, I ordered the taco meal and although delicious as well, I was surprised the tacos weren't accompanied by salsa. Street tacos come with salsa, that's what makes them street tacos. Unless of course these aren't meant to be street tacos. Luckily, I simply asked for salsa and some green tomatillo salsa was brought out. I highly recommend this place! It's what you would find in Tulum, by the beach. I for one am certainly grateful a restaurant like this opened up (after having tried all the Mexican restaurants (in the Peachtree city/newnan area). Went there for lunch with our daughter and her kids. It wasn't very busy, Monday at 1:00pm. We ordered our drinks. I Ordered sweet tea. When it came out, it was very weak, almost clear. I said something about it and was asked if I wanted something different. They were making new tea and realized it was weak, but served it anyway. I ordered a coke. We ordered our lunches and everyone's came out with the exception of my wife's. She had ordered a chicken Quesadilla which should not have taken very long to cook. We ended up asking about it and they said they would check. Eventually it came out. It was supposed to come with street corn which we also asked about. They bought it out eventually. Overall the food was OK, but the service was poor. They had a small Rose arrangement on the table that should have been thrown out several days ago. They were probably making some Potpourri!! There was also music playing which added another layer of noise. Unpleasant. I did not get a cocktail but the bar seating was full, looked to be popular. I ordered Tacos Dorados and Guacamole. The guac was flavorful with a lot of lime, and included tomato, mild chiles, cilantro, pickled onion. A little too much garlic for my taste but it was good, enjoyed it. I am always on the lookout for a Mexican restaurant that serves Los Angeles / California style Mexican food, especially crunchy tacos. The tacos dorados were really what Californians call taquitos. They tasted pretty good with the guacamole. The server was attentive after dropping off my food, checked on me a few times. If I am ever back in Peachtree City and craving Mexican food, I may try the taco salad or one of the fish entrees. read more

We enjoyed our food selections immensely: pozole, duck carnitas tacos and enchiladas (chicken mole). For cocktails we recommend the El Pepino and the Oaxcan Old Fashion. These two match our flavor profiles and were well prepared. Everything had a nice presentation. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The bar has indoor and outdoor options also. Nice place. The food and margaritas are the only reason this place gets any stars. We had an awful experience. We got two chips and one salsa and no water for 15-20 minutes. Even the table side guac (which was really good) came before getting water. I used to wait tables and I get how hard it is but if a waiter is in the weeds they need to ask for help. Our margaritas were slow to get ordered and even slower to come. The food didn't come at once just random dishes appeared every few minutes and the final insult was that my dish was the last to come and it had meat in it despite ordering vegetarian quesadillas. And the reorder was uncooked in the middle with unmelted cheese. And then we had to bus our own table because the waitress disappeared and we wanted to move on to dessert and sat there for way too long with dirty dishes. It was the worst service I've ever received. One of the staff gave me a birthday beer and that was very kind and sweet but it couldn't make up for how atrociously bad the overall experience was. read more
