I have been wanting to try this place for a while and decided to come after church and Sunday shopping. Location: The location is conveniently in a shopping plaza. Parking: plenty of parking, no inconvenience Service: Service was 7/10 no wait time I went alone and there was no seating at the bar so the hostess gave me an option and it does feel like more community seating. I sat at a big table and she warned me that other ppl. Could possibly sit there too. Didn't bother me but wanted to share. Ambience/Crowd: Family friend, mixed crowd Food/drink: 6/10 I had the table side guac and 3 tacos - tacos are à la carte which is cool to try different things. 1st time I had the bubble trouble 2nd time - peach please. GET THE PEACH PLEASE it's perfect not too sweet. Will I be back? I will definitely be back... I already have lol.

Killing time and decided to have lunch. The food was great minor changes but it's up to how you like it. Our server was Amanda who was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Restaurant was nice good music that went with the vibe of restaurant. Love that they have weekend brunch.......

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile, so here goes. I've been twice in the last month. Great space, good vibe, and great service. 1st time we sat outside on the patio. We ordered tableside guacamole to start. It was fantastic! I'm not really the guacamole person but this was prepared just right and served with the crispest tortilla chips. It was so good went back 2 weeks later and had it again! Yep, that good! We ordered Chicken Quesadillas, and I had a custom fish taco. I wanted mine fried vs. grilled. It was pretty good. Beans were flavorful, as well as the rice. Good stuff! Drinks were strong and well-made. I'll be back!

We tried Curious Cantina and leaned into the "order a few things and share" approach, which ended up being the right move. I'll admit, the first thing I judge at Mexican restaurants is the salsa. If the salsa is on point, I instantly have higher hopes for everything else. Curious Cantina passed that test. They start you off with free chips and salsa, and the salsa was quite good. It wasn't your typical house salsa either. It had a deeper, slightly smoky flavor that tasted like the ingredients were grilled before being blended, and it immediately set the tone for the meal. And the chips deserve their own shoutout. These weren't your typical plain tortilla chips. They were dusted with a seasoning powder that put them over the top and made it hard to stop eating them. Next up was the birria sope. It came topped with lettuce, beans, and crema, and overall it was a solid dish. The only thing for me was the cheese, which could be a bit overpowering. Swapping to queso fresco would be a great move because it still adds that salty bite, but it crumbles and feels lighter, so it wouldn't take over the whole sope. Then we moved into the main event, the street taco plate with street fries and esquite on the side. The pulpo taco was the standout. Cooked really well, great texture, and the sauce that came with it pulled everything together. The birria taco had a good amount of meat and the avocado taco was a pleasant surprise too. One thing I found a little odd is that the tacos didn't come served with salsa. You can ask for salsas and they do have them, but I'd recommend either serving the tacos with salsa by default or letting people know up front that salsas are available. The street fries had a nice seasoning, but a good portion of mine were a bit hard to eat. On the other hand, the esquite was excellent and easily one of the stars of the meal. It genuinely reminded me of summers in Mexico. Service deserves a special mention. The staff was super friendly and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. I'm pretty sure the owner came by a few times to check in, which was a really nice touch. A+ on service. Overall, you can tell they're trying to keep the food authentic, which I really appreciate. One added touch I'd love to see on the non-alcoholic side would be Mexican Cokes and aguas frescas. I'd definitely be back, and I would 100% order more of those pulpo tacos.

Stopped in for dinner memorial weekend. Being a holiday, we still got right in & sat at the bar. Place was busy, but not chaotic. Minus the toddlers running around the outside back patio like it was recess time. Get your kids, parents, I'd hate to see a server go down cause you're soft-parenting. Bar service was amazing, bartenders were super nice & efficient, drinks were great & the bar was clean & organized. Craving a taco salad & this one hit the spot. A bit juicy, but this is from the fresh lettuce mix (Alo Farms) shredded chicken & pickled onions. I didn't think this took away from the dish, but it could be something to work on. Tacos were good too.

This cantina has a fun trendy ambiance. Open and bright and breezy. Bring a sweater. The bar is very popular. We sat at a table for lunch. The food was hit and miss. Some items were great and some were disappointing. All in all I enjoyed myself but would not suggest this place if someone asked me where to find good Mexican food.

Steak taco with cilantro, and shredded cheese. Tortillas fresh.

Liam was our server. He was attentive. Explained the menu options and gave his favorite. Happy Hour 2-5 Seating is open for inside or outside. Very nice vibe. Everyone was friendly.

It was a rainy day and my dad and I had arrived before I started grad school at Ga Tech. Our server was an Electrical Engineering student at Tech. It was appreciated after the typical chaos of moving to a new city that he happened over here my dad and I talking and he shared he went to Tech. Over the 2 decades since, I've brought friends who live here and from outside the city to enjoy the great serving and kitchen staff. My wife and I have been many times including on the restaurant's anniversary night last fall. We are sorry to hear the landlord has decided to raise the rent and sell the property. Heather has been our server multiple times. She was our server tonight as we celebrated my wife's birthday with her parents, aunt and sister. From calamari to the desert platter and entrees in between, the food was incredible. The fried lobster tails are a must. The mouse has been my wife's favorite for years. The one note is Jacob the General Manager needs to learn to trust his servers. At the beginning of the meal I let Heather know despite being a party of 7 to just bring the check to me and I'll settle up with the other guests via Venmo. And, at as we were finishing dessert, Heather came by letting me know the next party for our table was had arrived and could she bring our check. I said yes. While Heather was getting our check ($490 Food & $600+ after tip) the Manager came by telling us we needed to finish up and have our check brought. When I asked the Manager to not make this an unpleasant experience and that coming by after Heather had just communicated the situation and I had agreed she told me I should share this feedback with the General Manager. She, Jacob (GM), and I stood on the front patio where I explained what I'm sharing now: Trust your Servers. He said they were front facing and so the management likes to meet the guests. Having your Manager tell us we need to get our check and leave is not the way to meet your guests. Chef Jack and his wife (the owners) are hospitable and trust and appreciate their staff. Jacob having his Manager micromanage the servers management of tables is nowhere close the focus on service the owners have had for 26 years. I hope that Jacob and the Manager take this as a learning moment that if you hire talented people your trust talented people to bring their talents to their job. Sure it was busy. But, that's why Chef Jack hired the staff he hired. Jacob the GM needs to increase the communication with his talented team instead of using the excuse of being front facing to ever overstep their bounds on the relationship his servers have built with his guests. Heather introduced herself when we sat down. Jacob did not - nor should he have. Heather did a phenomenal job making us feel welcome, have food and drink we enjoyed, and even recognizing my wife's birthday with her favorite desert. And when the time came she handled coordinating bringing the bill and having us free the table so a new group could enjoy an evening at Agave. Jacob and the Manager need to trust their staff more. Micro-management is never a good look for your staff's morale or your guests' impressions. Please go see them for Jan 31st 2026 when they close. The servers are all wonderful as are the owners. And the food is like nothing else in Atlanta. The management simply needs to trust the talented staff from front to back of house with whom they get to work. If they're ever in doubt if a server is either providing the level of service they expect or turning tables at the rate needed to keep pace with reservations then talk to the server. The server needs to own their tables. Management should truly be of service to their staff - and you can only do that with trust and communication. Customers should never know management had a single question if the sever was doing what's needed. Because it's a bad look to come by twice about being the check. Especially when the 2nd time is in between the 1st ask if they could and the server bring the check. Of note, I already had my credit card out so that I could hand it to Heather as soon as she returned with the check. And in front of the manager, I handed Heather my credit card. Everything else was great. But, why rush guests?

The sweet hostess, the young girl, told me I would really like my fish if it were fried hard. Well, she was so right. It came out steaming hot, and the seasoning covered the whole fish from the outside to the inside. The skin was so crispy and crunchy, I left nothing behind. From the very first bite of my burrito, I was pleasantly surprised--it was absolutely delicious! As a burrito enthusiast, I can confidently say it was the best-tasting burrito I've ever had, with a flavor profile unlike any I've experienced before. My buddy shared similar sentiments about the grilled meats on his plate. Curious about the sauce, we asked our server, who informed us it's a signature sauce they developed for all their meats. The rice and refried beans were perfect. The chips and salsa were also excellent. In summary, our visit to Hidalgo's Mexican Grill turned out to be one of the best lunches we've had. We're excited to make it one of our go-to spots for lunchtime.
