I love the spot. I am so disappointed it's going to close soon so I went back and visited it. This time I tried the mussels and the tuna tartar and both are excellent dishes. Do check it out before they close for Good.

I've been to this restaurant a couple of years ago it's been a minute. I live in the area not to far from here now maybe like 15 minutes so I had to go back here and try something I didn't have before from here. First time I visited I got the Cayenne chicken with the mashed potatoes. It's vallet parking here and the food is delicious and it's a bar for those who want to drink. I got the shrimp rolls and a fried lobster tail and street corn and I received the complentary chips with salsa. I also got the chef's strawberry cheesecake and I tried the chocolate mousse for dessert. I ate some food for dinner and I saved the rest for breakfast on 1-2-2026. Pull up and check them out. Sadly they are closing on 1-31-2026.

I've been coming here for 25 years on and off and recently started back. The restaurant was slammed and Justin did a great job putting up with us! Everything was 10/10. Solid authentic restaurant with amazing margaritas. Sad to see them go!

The restaurant was great. The ambiance was fun and romantic. The food was good. I had the chicken soup and the gulf shrimp. The service was top notch. I came in with some friends. It was the restaurant 25th anniversary.

It's been once three years since I've been in Georgia. I have always wanted to try this place. Never thought I could afford it. Today I had dinner with one of my friends from my neighborhood and it was a lovely experience. Let's start with complementary valet and a warm welcome when I walked in. There are three cool rooms in this establishment one with the Bar and two other ones to Jason for dining. We were in the flat room which was nice and cozy. The atmosphere was lively and everyone seems to be out. All the plates came out quick and the food looks amazing. I ordered the Caesar salad that I've been craving and haven't found a good one yet for now and the quesadilla. The Dino sitting suggested the blunt orange margarita Which sounded delicious, but it lacked luster. Very watery and barely taste it like a margarita. I should've stuck with my traditional margarita or just a couple shots tequila instead. All the food was yummy ! Our servers name I can't remember maybe her name is Brianna ? She was amazing. Food came out fast. The quesadillas for room temperature, but yet delicious. The homemade hot sauce was Tasty not very hot at all. An overall great experience !! Next time I will definitely try that fried chicken. It looks amazing. I just wasn't hungry enough!

Agave Restaurant is located in Cabbage Town at 242 Blvd SE Atlanta, GA 30312 This is a family owner established. On 7/6/2024 Health Score is 89 = B Our servers were Anderson and Helena they both were very, very, very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. We ordered the Watermelon Margarita, the Enchiladas and the Rio Grande Burrito. The food was seasoned well and so delicious. The presentation was also very nice. The restaurant ambiance was a little dark for me. But the overall vibe offered music piping through the speakers and a cozy feeling. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. It's was the Rio Grande Burrito for me.

The hidden gem of cabbagetown! I really should make a weekly reservation at this point. The food is so ridiculously good. Chips and salsa come but don't fill up... save room for dinner. The enchiladas are the same price as a burrito at any local chain... so it's a no brainer for us! And service is always so friendly. And personal. You leave feeling like family. The outside front is great for a cocktail (car and people watching). i wish they'd have dinner service on those patio tables!!! Oh and the spicy pb pie isn't overly spicy and a great dessert selection!

Dinner with friends for a birthday and it's a Saturday night. Luckily we have a reservation and we are sat right away! Chips and salsa to start and I enjoyed my Peachtree Margarita! There were 9 of us and our server, James, took care of us well! Ask for him! Almost all of us got the Medallions - but all a little different! It was quite tasty and those onion rings - those alone should be a side or an app, YUM! We also got the dessert sampler (we were celebrating a birthday after all)! And it was so good! I would take the strawberry compote from the cheesecake and put it on the peanut butter pie - DEEEEELICIOUS! Highly recommend!

Agave has been one of myfavorite spots for a while. They fell off for a bit; I had two not-so-great experiences there, but after some time, I tried them again. I was quite excited and hopeful for a great experience.  The service was good, and the vibe of the place is always cozy and warm. The chips and salsa were good. I ordered the chicken dish with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. I also had the fried lobster tail as an appetizer. I also tried the street corn, not the cob. The fried lobster tail was amazing. It was seasoned so well and fried perfectly. The collard greens and macaroni and cheese were pretty good too. The chicken was fried well, but it did lack flavor. All that flavor that was packed into the lobster tail just for the chicken to lack at least half as much flavor That was really the only disappointment; I wish the chicken carried more flavor, but it was fried well and a nice size.

My most recent visit to agave was a full 10/10! They were very busy because of a festival happening in the area but they got us seated fairly quickly. Our server was patient, attentive and thorough. She still ensured that every single table felt like they were only table. The food came out quickly and was uber delicious! The ambiance in Agave is perfect for any occasion and the entire team provides A-1 customer service.

Agave Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Agave Restaurant

Hi! Is takeout available this weekend?

Sorry, no. We have decided to solely focus on the sold out restaurant as our small kitchen can’t handle both in the final two days.

I forgot to book a reservation? Do we HAVE to have one for a party of 4? Hoping to get in once more before they close.

Yes Ma’am. Agave is sold out until the first week of January. Thanks so much!

    Can I tap to pay?

Yes, at the terminal with a server. Thanks so much!

    What's the dress code like?

    Casual

    Is outside seating available?

No. There's "patio" dining, but it's still indoors with open air ceilings around its walls borders. This area is very cool, because of the open air wall borders, and above head ceiling fans. It's really nice. It feels like an adobe.

Can they accommodate a party of 20?

This isn't a very roomy restaurant. Most of the seating spaces are rather close/tight. If I took a guess, I would say probably not comfortably.

Is there a Happy Hour here?

Yes, at the bar - which had limited seating.

I'm taking my girlfriend for her birthday is it better to sit outside or upstairs?

Depends on if it's you and her , if it is upstairs will be kool but I also like the patio as well.

We were there celebrating our engagement, and they made it feel so special by decorating our table with rings and confetti to celebrate our love. Our server gave us so much attention and made the experience feel personal. Since it was our first time there, they took the time to walk us through some of the best items on and off the menu, and shared their favorite dishes. Everything was done with care. The restaurant was clean, the bathroom was amazing, and the food was worth every dollar. The short rib was so tender, and the New York strip was seasoned to perfection and cooked medium well just how we like it. The twice-baked potato loaded with bacon, sour cream, chives, and cheese was delicious, and the mac and cheese was so good. I also appreciated that they allowed me to order it without the roasted saltine crackers. I can't wait to visit again!

This is my second time here and both times have been so good. We came as a party of 3 and left so happy and full. I love Mexican food holy moly We got the queso and octopus shrimp ceviche as starters. The queso was 3 cheeses: American, cotija, and Oaxacan. They heated it up under a salamander so it was nice and crispy on top, while being gooey all throughout. Also came with a couple of nice salsas. The ceviche was not my favorite because I don't prefer raw(ish) octopus, but the squid ink sauce was very flavorful. For our mains the 3 of us shared the red snapper, tuetano with lamb, and the mixteco poblano pepper. Red snapper had a nice charred smoky flavor from being grilled. Was more meaty than flaky in texture. It was our second time getting the mixteco poblano pepper and it hits. Highly recommend eating with some of the salsa as well if you get queso. The duck carnitas in it wasn't particularly duck-y today, but still very good. Best dish is definitely the tuetano. The bone marrow is so incredibly flavorful with the blue corn tortillas. Add some of the pickled onions and it's hard to go wrong with that flavor combo of salt, fat, and acid. if you're going to order one thing, I'd order this and share with a friend and tbh it's enough to be filling. For dessert we got the volcan de chocolate (basically lava cake). The lava cake and coconut ice cream combo is fantastic. You get bits of coconut flakes as you eat! Fair warning it isn't the brownie texture you may be used to, it's a bit more cakey. Amazing service the whole night! Almost got our cars booted because we forgot to validate until 1.5 hours in but luckily we were fine. The staff let us know they have been booting cars though so be wary!

Our daughter spent the first few minutes waving at the staff, and they genuinely lit up every time -- such a warm, welcoming vibe right from the jump. Starters We kicked things off with the she‑crab soup, and that's when we knew the meal was going to be special. Tons of rich crab flavor and chunks of crab. The crispy shrimp toast was another hit -- crunchy, savory, and a great pairing with the soup. We also ordered the Baker's Dozen oysters, chef's selection. All 13 were fresh, clean, and briny in the best way. Next up: the Spanish octopus, and honestly... top five octopus dish we've had. Cooked perfectly -- tender, melt‑in‑your‑mouth texture. The salsa macha added just the right amount of heat, and the marcona almonds brought a great crunch with the cilantro, lime, and mint brightening everything up. What a beautifully composed dish. We finished with the Halibut and Lady peas. The Halibut was topped with lobster and served with a lobster butter sauce, chives, and capers. Rich, buttery, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The lady peas (fava beans, asparagus, and a generous mound of blue crab) were another standout. So much flavor, but everything complemented each other instead of competing. One of those sides you keep looking for more of when it's gone. --- Overall Every dish was thoughtful, balanced, and executed at a high level. This time in particular we ordered the whole lobster and was offered to have it taken out of the shell for us. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. When we got the lobster we got a full tail but one claw and no knuckles. When we addressed with the server, she argued with us that that's how a lobster is and that there could be more meat hidden on the plate. It felt like she thought we were there to just get more food by saying "so what do you want, more meat" but if we had it in the shell we would have received our full portion. The manager on duty tried to make it up to us by comping the lobster but it was more than that. After going back and forth with the server we just wanted the check to leave. The manager on duty insisted to give us the lobster and take it home. The server wasn't very polite and argued with us about the lobster. My plates were cleared promptly, and two managers stopped by during dinner to make sure everything was going well. As a solo diner, I especially appreciated receiving the same attention and level of service as any other table. STK is definitely on the pricier side, and the menu is largely à la carte, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. Still, if you're looking for an upscale dining experience and don't mind spending a little more, I recommend trying it.
