I was looking for a good deal on resort wear and I found several, reasonably priced items at Current Boutique. I didn't find any of the problems that other reviewers cited. They had merchandise on the sidewalk and the tall, dark-haired sales associate approached me to say hello and assess my needs. She was friendly and gave good advice on navigating the layout of the store. I went inside and easily found the sections she referred me to. I found a dress, a blouse, and a pair of designer shoes at approximately 50% off. I was happy with my experience and I will be back. I would suggest that you shop during the week because Saturday was very crowded and there was a brief wait for a fitting room.

I had been wanting to check out this place for a while thanks to the stuff they post on Instagram. When I finally went, my sister and I were very disappointed. Customer service was awful for the most part, and you can get brand new clothes from the actual brand stores for very similar prices, so I didn't think I was getting much of a bargain. The designer bags, however, were reasonably-priced. You get more of a bargain with the bags than with the clothes. None of the employees greeted me when I entered, not even when I approached the counter or walked past them multiple times. One of the employees had the nerve to say "Ugh, I really hate when customers..." and she was talking about me and the other customers, audibly. Very rude. It's like she didn't care what I thought. The only one that seemed to treat me with respect was the Asian employee. The others totally disregarded me. They were all busy gossiping. Needless to say, we walked out without a purchase. P.S. Their high-end brands are mainly available online for purchase.

A slightly dirty and used condition 8 year old shirt for almost 200 bucks, what a deal.

Pilling, shrunken rayon fabric items from urban outfitters, loft and j.crew factory. Very rarely will they accept your donations that are in better condition and same brands or better perhaps employees are likely filling stores with their own leftovers.

    Shoes oh glorious shoes.

I went to Current Boutique while wondering King Street with a friend on 12/13/15. I always enjoy a trip to this store. It is very clean and organized and you often forget that you are purchasing overstock or used items. I was greeted by the staff and asked if I needed help. It is hard to go to Current Boutique with needing something specific in mind but you can always count on the fact that they'll have dresses available. The only reason I cannot give this store a 5 star rating is that they don't tend to carry pants in a sizes larger than 12. I can often find tops that I like but have never been successful in finding a pair of pants. In a nutshell, if you like designer names in your wardrobe but live on a shoestring budget Current Boutique is worth a visit.

Probably the best consignment shop in Old Town. It's clean, well organized, and chic.

I like all of the plates and decorative items near the entrance, but the sections of items are not clearly labeled and I'm unsure of the logic of the organization. Paintings are also scattered on the first and second floors - hanging items in general aren't organized well. Photo frames, especially the small ones, are overpriced in my opinion. The appliance section is very limited and I haven't seen much of anything worth buying. I haven't really interacted too much with the people working there, but I've never had any issues with checking out. Most of the items worth checking out are by the front, but I've found some great clothing and artwork in the back areas. Plus, they have discounts on select items that changes on a regular basis. Overall, a typical thrift store and a fun stop if you're visiting Old Town Alexandria.

The quality of the inventory is terrible, and pricing makes no sense--lower-end items are overpriced while real luxury pieces are undervalued because they don't understand designer brands. They also don't authenricate so you may be buying fakes. Additionally, when I asked to get my consigned items back (brand-new Ferragamo black pumps and YSL boots (worth $2,000 retail)) the staff seemed lost in their own system. They first said I'd already been paid for it (looking at my other sales), then claimed my consignment had "expired"after 90 days--even though it had only been about 70 days. They eventually admitted they couldn't find my items and said it must have been "stolen" and gave me just a $50 credit (Their contract states they aren't liable for lost or stolen goods, so consigners get no reimbursement), so please don't bring your high-end items here. They are disorganized, inexperienced, and unprofessional. If you want real expertise, integrity, and quality good go to New To You, where I've shopped and consigned for over 15 years--they know their brands, have high end goods prices right and take care of their consignors. Or any of the Current Boutique locations! (I don't work or get paid for promoting these stores..I just don't want anyone to be a victim of Mint like I've been)!

*Pre-COVID Review* I…read morehave scored some great finds here, but other reviewers are correct in stating that the owner (Eleanor) is sketchy. Yes, I suspect that she does cut the tag off of newer items in order to pass them off as vintage or luxury. And yes, I have been followed around the store and been treated with suspicion during some visits to the store. One visit in particular stands out to me. I received an email stating that everything in the store was 20% off. So I arrived to check out the sale and, as someone who manages retail, I recognize the associate's (blonde woman who said she was a costumer designer from southern VA) relentless customer service as a tactic to prevent people from stealing. Like, she wouldn't leave me alone to try on the clothes and make my decisions in peace - this is an anti theft tactic. The idea is that the potential thief will be discouraged from stealing if the associate provides suffocating customer service: following the individual closely and being overly attentive in the hopes that it will make them think twice about skipping out with merch. Literally, she was with me the ENTIRE hour I was in there to try on vintage trousers. She had this uncomfortable, concerned look in between talking to me. I really resent this because I used to work up the street, and would come in pretty regularly to check out new items and make purchases. Eleanor even offered to give me a discount since she said she liked my figure, and since I could fit a lot of the smaller items in her store. So the service is bizarrely hot and cold here. In regards to duping customers with fake vintage items. She tried to tell me that velveteen skater dress was an original Betsy Jonson. HAHA! She had multiples of the dress and the quality of the velveteen sucked, in addition to the fact that there was no tag on it. It didn't have the quality or construction worthy of a handmade original, and Betsey Johnson isn't that hot anymore so it was a pretty dated dupe. I suggest learning of some new, coveted designers if you're going to try to impress or rip off someone I'm their 20s. My mom is a vintage and antique dealer, and we're from San Francisco: I grew up shopping vintage so I know ehat to look for. Instead of this place, I suggest visiting Mercedes Bien Vintage in Adam's Morgan (neighborhood in DC). She is the longest operating vintage dealer in DC, has fab finds, and a younger clientele (so stuff you actually want to wear vs victorian skirts...)! She also doesn't discriminate against her customers, so go check her out!
