a man sitting at a table

I had read positive reviews about this restaurant in the food court in Spotsylvania Mall for over a year and since I was going to be in the mall today, I decided to give them a try for lunch. The lady taking and filling orders was friendly and helpful. The food/menu was limited to what they prepare and put in their warmers, which is fine, as it's the typical items, like channa (chick peas), boneless chicken kabob, aloo curry (potato), chicken curry, saag (greens, such as spinach), etc. They also had a "chef's special" item which was a boneless shredded chicken curry that they called Tawa Chicken (Tawa - Is the type of vessel you typically cook curries or roti in). I wanted to try their boneless chicken and something spicy, so she suggested the Tawa Chicken and I also wanted to try their channa and some naan. In all, it was just shy of $20 for everything, not a bad price. They make the naan fresh to order, which only takes a few minutes, not a big deal. I sat down at a food court table to enjoy my lunch... All the food was decent, I can see why the reviews are good. Fresh ingredients were used. But the spices were very bland and not at all what I prefer, nor look forward to when I'm in the mood for Pakistani-type food. The chutney was a mint style, without yogurt and it was probably one of the more flavorful items. The naan was really good, but they spread butter on it, I absolutely hate that, as it makes my hands greasy, since I eat food the traditional way, with the naan. Overall, I can say I've been, but given the style of flavors, which don't really cater to my style of curry, I doubt I'll be back.

Don't be fooled by the fact that this place is inside a mall food court. The samosas were such a wonderful array of flavors and with the spicy sauce and chickpeas yum! The butter chicken wasn't my favorite butter chicken I've had but still okay. The lady running the spot was so friendly and I genuinely felt welcome to ask any questions needed and take my time! Definitely check this out if you are looking for something different at the mall.

Combo #4: 2 Chicken, 1veggie. Tawa chicken, Curry chicken and Palak

Just move in the area. Craving Indian food. Decided to try this place. Curry chicken and palak was tasty. First time I tried Tawa Chicken (like curry chicken but more spicy and it have jalapeno on top) delicious. One of the best Indian food I have surprisingly since it is at the Mall food court. I ordered garlic naan and yummy mango lassi. The guy was friendly and let me try the tawa chicken. So I got Combo #4: 2chicken, 1veggie, instead of combo #2: 1chicken, 1veggie.

Butter Chicken, Lamb Curry, Garlic Naan

So this was my first time eating Indian food. Wasn't sure what to expect with this being in a mall food court, so not exactly the ideal ambiance for Indian dining. My Wife ordered things she believed I'd eat based on what she knows I like, and when it comes to the Garlic Naan and Lamb Curry she was 100% correct. It was delicious and almost tasted familiar. She ordered the Butter Chicken for herself, and I tried a little myself. Definitely a nice first experience, I'm sure the service inside of an actual restaurant would be lovely and give me a better look at a real Indian dining experience.

I came across this one while driving to DC. I looked up their menu in the parking lot and was surprised to see dosa (one of my favorite Indian food) in the menu. I ordered masala dosa and chicken 65. I got my order within 10 minutes from ordering. 4/5 for food as the lentil soup which is called sambar in South Indian language was not as flavorful as I expected. Dosa was decent. Could have been crispier. Chutney was mediocre as well. Chicken 65 was good. Although not authentic but people from various parts of India have their version of chicken 65. Not my favorite but it's not bad. Service was good. Price is nominal. Ambiance is decent as well. They are connected to the Indian grocery story next door. So I was to stop by at the store after dinner to get Indian groceries. Overall not a bad experience.

The garlic naan was cooked perfectly. When it came to the chicken tikka, it was truly deflating how little flavor there was in the meal and little to no flavor in the sauce that was served with it. It is tough to beat the price with the amount of food they give.

But my in-laws put me onto it and I really wanted to check it out. Vegetarian Friendly: I'm vegetarian, and I been craving momos for a while, so this was perfect. Loved that the menu is a mix of Indian and Nepalese, nice to have both options. Decor: I actually loved the decor it was fun but it was pretty dead in there when we went so it didnt help teh vibes Food Ordered: We got a bunch of stuff from veggie momos, haka noodles, gulab jamun, kheer, and a mango lassi. Food Breakdown: Everything was really really good. The momos were exactly what I wanted and man that sause hit different. The desserts (gulab jamun and kheer) were great too, and the mango lassi hit the spot. Only thing is the Haka noodles, they just didnt taste like actual haka noodles to me, kinda a funky version of it. Not bad, just not what I was expecting. Portion Size: I loved the sizes as it was very shareable Service: Staff was solid, as good as youd expect on a Tuesday night. Price: I think it was totally reasonable for the area Would I go Back: 100% yes. Definitely recommend it if anything for the Momos!
