Quality over quantity - and they absolutely delivered. My dad, who cooks very flavorful dishes at home and is usually hard to impress, gave Taj a 9/10 as well. A couple of constructive suggestions: I've been to several Indian buffets, and usually the plates are placed right next to the food. Here, you have to wait for the staff and ask for a new plate each time. I even noticed another guest taking his dirty plate back for more food, which made me wonder if he was confused like I was. I understand they use high-quality plates, but maybe having separate buffet plates could make the experience smoother. A little smile goes a long way. The food is delicious and full of flavor, but the gentleman at the front - who I believe may be the owner - never smiled or asked how the food was. I actually had to be the one to compliment him. Just a few small things to work on, but overall this place still deserves 5 stars. We'll definitely be back and will gladly recommend it to our friends and family. Great food and absolutely worth visiting.

The service was similar, it was decent, but the food tasted so much better this time! The naan was made better... The chicken Karahi was very nice and spiced just about perfectly. The chutney was really good, as I recall it was the last time. Their salad was very fresh and a nice addition to the curry. Overall, I enjoyed this visit so much more and the spice and flavors are what set Pakistani food apart (and make it sooo much better than) Indian food! I know that might not be a popular comment, but it's true and those who know the difference will be happy to hear this and give this place a try! (Though I will say - they should probably play some music in the dining room, not kid's TV and having their kids in the lobby arguing and fighting with each other while watching cartoons... it's a business afterall)

Which They sat down with me like family, we talked we ate! By far the best experience with an essence of home! By far the best Pakistani Food I have ever had in the DMV... I'm still craving the taste that is remarkable! I ordered door dash/ uber eats as well and it's always fresh and great tasting! When I say phenomenal I really mean they put a lot of love into their food! Also it's clean the ambience is nice and refreshing! And you can rent for parties and events!!! The only Con is that their food is expensive and only comes with the Naan. For 40 bucks for each of the best entrees I have tasted and all you get is bread on the side, no salad no rice is really disappointing. The entree is a nice size but for the money for just an entree can leave you unfulfilled. For that price they should definitely have sides of at-least rice even if no salad. The Halwa Puri is amazing and addictive and very affordable, leaves you wanting more and more and gracious of 3 large portions. Chicken Palau- Is tasty fragrant and flavorful- good portion! no side Mutton Shinwari- OMGEEEEE I been looking for that taste and can only find it here!!! Good portion only Naan side ‍ Chicken Pakistani Karahi - YUMMY Amazing flavor good portion, only Naan side. Shinwari Lamb - OMGeeee pick me up off the floor please When I say these foods are amazing thank me later. only Naan Side... I spent 116.00 That's a lot with no sides... frfr So I also have ordered door dash to check the consistency and price and flavor. That's where I kinda had to really think entree with only Naan it's too pricy although it's quality it should atleast have a side, maybe you can ask to substitute, which maybe in store definitely not onl All in all I will go back if you can substitute, like I said thank me later

The second sign - it smelled nothing at all like a place that makes anything with curry, it smelled like cleaner. The fixtures, décor, and leftover (from the gas station that it used to be) slurpee and other machines all tell me the folks who own this place put nothing at all into it... So, one would hope they put their love into the food.... I tried their beef seekh kabob with a side of chick peas... The flavors and style is more Persian, maybe Afghan, but definitely NOT anything with flavor! Those are bland and basic in preparation, style, and flavor... Indian and Pakistani foods have sooo much more depth of flavor which comes from better preparation and use of spices. The kabob was as flavorful as regular 80/20 ground beef wrapped around a spit... I hardly tasted any spice to it. The chickpeas weren't flavorful at all. The rice (even though it looked like it might be good) was the blandest thing I had, so I hardly ate any. Overall, I tried this place a few years apart and nothing has changed... I have no idea how they stay in business, but I do hope they are successful... They just don't serve the flavors I seek.

I'm utterly disappointed to taste lassi and it was sour and foamy means it was old and stale, it went down to drain. I then tasted Nihari Haleem, there wasn't any nihari or haleem flavor in it but a mixture of broken chicken pieces with naked bones and taste more like daal gosht, absolutely no flavor in it. Biryani also was stale and chicken pieces look old and dark on the outside. Side raita (yogurt) was also foamy and stale. I'm very disappointed because I was very excited to learned we have Pakistani restaurant in Stafford but I guess I'll have to travel up north to satisfy my cravings for desi food. I'm sorry but I don't recommend this restaurant because of this experience of my mine.

I prefer more robust flavors from Indian and specifically Pakistani food over the "salt & pepper" style seasoning (with turmeric for color) of Afghan food. I tried what they call their Shami kabob, which is actually a seekh kabob. I got a side of chick peas with it. The flavor of the kabob was actually quite nice (for Afghan food). The chick peas were as basic as I would expect from this style of food. Their potatoes looked great, but unfortunately were extremely bland and unflavored. Their naan was pretty good and perfectly baked, so it was slightly crusty while flexible enough to eat with and still flavorful. My preference if for spicier food, so I asked for an extra spicy green sauce. Fortunately, my dish came with their white sauce too. The white sauce had an incredible flavor! So much more flavor than the green sauce, even though the green sauce had slight spice, mostly from the vinegar in it. Their rice looked great and had the appropriate amount of seasoning and flavor you'd expect, regardless of style of Middle Eastern food you're enjoying. Service was excellent! They were very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and even checked on us. The place was pretty clean for a kabob joint as well. Overall, it was a decent visit, but unfortunately for me, it left me wanting more... more spice and depth of flavor. But for the average American, you'd probably really enjoy this place.
