A cultural gem and a culinary experience right here in San Marcos! Honestly some of the most flavorful and intensely spicy food I have had in the United States. The sweet and sour soup was an Indo China fusion that blew me away!! I asked for it as spicy as possible, Curry Craft delivered!! Not only was the spice en fuego, but the flavors from the fusion of cuisine were distinct, original, and out of this world. I also tried the goat dish which was spectacular as well. I am looking forward to come back and enjoying another mini trip to India the next chance I get

This is a great place to stop in for lunch. Good food and an amazing lunch buffet! We come back again and again for lunch. I love the veggie options and can't get enough of the Lamb Curry. Everything is always fresh at the buffet. I haven't ever ordered straight off of the menu because the buffet is so enticing. The samosas are large. I can never finish one. If you decide to stop in don't forget to take a cup of the chai tea on the buffet. It's made from scratch and oh so tasty. They'll make you fresh naan with your buffet lunch.

Hooray to another great Indian buffet in North County! A nice casual restaurant in the Nordahl shopping complex right off of the 78 freeway. What makes it 5 stars? - spacious restaurant with plenty of seats inside - ample free parking in the large shared lot - excellent service from the young male who was friendly, enthusiastic, and professional - nice variety of lunch buffet options including naan, rice, salad, various vegetable and meat curries, tandoori chicken, fruit, and yogurts/chutney - food was fresh, tasty, and filling - reasonable prices for buffet ($16.99 for lunch and $18.99 for dinner) - open late (until midnight!) - love they have different size plates including a tray with separate compartments Definitely will be back for more!

I love this place! It's probably my favorite Indian restaurant. I had the shrimp tikka masala and it was so delicious! I got an 8 on the heat scale (1-10) so it was spicy but not inedible, it actually enhanced the flavors because I love spicy food! I also ordered the garlic naan which paired really well with my curry. You get 4 fresh pieces. I ate so much but I still had leftovers to take home. Great portion sizes! In addition, I had the sweet lassi and this was pretty good too! The customer service was excellent! Sidhu and the other worker did an excellent job with the timing, efficiency, and friendly customer service! The prices were good too! It was definitely enough for two people. The restaurant is casual but nice. You can take friends and family here and they'll be able to accommodate you. FYI: On the weekends they also have a buffet. I will be sure to come back here for the delicious food, value, and customer service!

Great India buffet! I very good variety of yummy food! There's always something different when I eat here. I like how they have mango lassi and chai for an option to drink. They have tiny cups for you to try it. Which is understandable. Service is pretty friendly. I definitely get super full with just the first plate. My favorite that day was the chicken curry, the veggie, tandoori chicken, lamp curry, naan, and chips. Pretty spacious restaurant. Great for groups, couples, or by one's self.

The last time I came to Curry Craft was probably within a couple years of the pandemic, but I remember it was a great location. Coming back again, and I can still stand by the fact they are one of my go to spots for Indian curry. Staff is friendly and helpful, restaurant is clean and spacious. Another perk, they are one of the few locations for late night food runs, open as late as midnight!! One of the biggest differences since coming here is they have a buffet option that was pretty reasonable buffet for lunch and dinner between $17-20/person with available add ons for beverage and naan choices. I was so excited to get my food I forgot to take a picture.... I ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan to go. The bowl of butter chicken was securely wrapped in Saran Wrap to keep everything safe, but be warned, the bowl is extremely hot!! Portions are great for the price and very filling. The food was well balanced and thankfully not too spicy for the mild spice level.

Solid Indian buffet price for lunch and dinner. When we came in I thought the service was a 2/5 because the heater was on during dinner time and it was so stuffy and the waiter seemed inattentive. She didn't really tell us where to sit or if we needed high chairs for our two girls. Within around 5 minutes though, the AC was on. The waiter checked on us and the buffet was solid. My husband said it was a 5/5. I give it a 4/5 for the menu selection and lack of direction or any dietary warnings (milk or any other ingredients used). Love that it comes with chai tea and the garlic naan was a 5/5. For the price, it's really good especially in the North County area.

My husband and I were staying at a local resort and looking for food late night, and we ended up finding this place. WHAT A GEM!! The fish and chicken tikka masala were so flavorful and they are generous with portion sizes. Also highly recommend the samosas and garlic naan! They offer a free glass of wine or mango lassi after 9 pm, which was such a nice touch. Gurjab was our server and he was such a vibe, super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Really amazing food and great service! We enjoyed Crispy Samosa and ginger tea, spicy tadka daal, laccha paratha, Alu Gobi, moong daal halwa, kesar rasmalai and Paan!! All this while listening to our favorite requested songs playing! What a treat!!

Wow! I've been to a lot of Indian food buffets in my life, and I do believe this is my favorite! I had the Monday lunch buffet for a very reasonable $18 plus tax and tip. The place is very clean. The staff are polite and efficient. The buffet line is beautifully laid out and kept clean and stocked. They have both metal and porcelain plates, but unfortunately use styrofoam for their chai and paper bowls for the kheer. The salad is the best I've had, not the usual iceberg lettuce and a few cucumbers, but green lettuce and a variety of extras. They put a pitcher of water on your table so you don't run out. The food was all done perfectly. They bring out fresh garlic naan made to order. There was the usual Bollywood playing with commercials on the TV.

Great service, and nice, clean ambiance. It's probably the only Indian place that has dinner buffet. The 2 star is for the Friday night buffet. The pakoras were too salty, the chicken tikka was too dry. It is ~20$ for the buffet. For a lower price, the other Indian restaurants can offer better food for the buffet (but I admit those restaurants may not have the ambiance). read more

We love coming here for lunch buffet before going to Safari Park SD. Good price and food is also delicious. I've been looking for a good Indian restaurant that offers buffet since many closed or stopped serving during covid. So glad I found this place. Great service too! read more

This place has an amazing lunch buffet. Very chill vibe, you just come in and let them know you're eating the buffet, and they bring you a pitcher of water and your choice of regular or garlic naan. I really enjoyed the garlic naan, it was freshly baked and had just the right amount of garlic and butter. Yum. I loved most of the dishes, my favorites being the veggie korma and the chicken curry. The chicken curry meat was so tender and delicious. We'll definitely be back many more times. Also, the price is great, including tax it came out to be around 20 dollars per person. Highly recommend. read more

Food is amazing I go here very frequently for lunch buffets and it's tasty with a good variety of items. Ambience is good service is excellent. But yesterday they charged my friends and I extra for naan saying it doesn't come with the buffet. I paid whatever he asked but after coming home I went through my credit card statements and yelp reviews to see that naans are always free and included in the buffets. And the cashier said they have always charged for naans in buffets , it's not for free and definitely it's NOT UNLIMITED. This took us by surprise because I have never paid for naan before in buffets. Now I am feeling cheated and that the guy just quoted whatever and we had to pay. It's not about paying the extra $ but why lie. read more

Always satisfying! This place never disappoints. From the dessert to the entrees, I always leave happy and satisfied. There buffet times are also a must, especially if you want to try something new. The buffet has a good variety of options from meat to vegan. I like how they now added the mango lassi to the buffet, as it was something I would always order on the side. The first time I came to Curry Craft I ran into an inconvenience that left me unhappy. However, the management was very accommodating. I must say that this is the best curry I've had. My girlfriend and I come here often now and we also appreciate that when we request the curry to be spicy, ITS SPICY! The facilities and dining area are all very cleanly and the staff is also very friendly. 5/5 would recommend and 10/10 on flavor. read more

The first night we came in the food and service was so good that we had to come back the next night. The food is delicious and everyone was super helpful. The tandoori chicken had incredible flavor along with the Manchurian chicken. The chicken biryani was very tasty.The Garlic Naan was so amazing we got 3 orders! Came in for lunch and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They explained each dish they had available at the buffet and then throughout lunch offered a street food with corn puffs,tomato, onion, cilantro, mint chutney and tamarind sauce w/some other things I can't recall and it was delicious. My review is based on buffet only . Finally north county has a great little Indian lunch buffet option . If you haven't tried Indian food this is a great way to check out lots of different food options . I love there Vegetable pakora snd Samosas . Couple of nights ago my friend and I had a dinner at this restaurant. We were blown away. The food was sooooo delicious. I wish I had two stomachs. It was so good I couldn't stop myself. What made it even better was the service we received. Our waiter's name was Pawan. He was very helpful explaining different dishes and making some recommendations. If you are in the mode for Indian food then I suggest you stop by this place. Just make sure you are really hungry. Enjoy!! read more

I think they poisoned my food last night. The host noticed my Afghanistan tattoo and had the most absolute horrible attitude. Even the guy that gave me my food. I've never had Indian food before and I'm gluten free and Curry Craft did not disappoint! I ordered the Chicken Makhani with medium+ heat and it was delicious. Perfect spice. My husband got the Lamb Curry and said it was the best he's ever had! It was very tender. We definitely want to come back for lunch for their buffet. The Samosas were also incredible! Decent food and portion sizes. The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 instead of 4 stars is because of the payment system. It has the standard menu where you can choose suggested tip amounts or no tip. If you choose no tip, then a second screen comes up asking if you're sure you don't want to leave a tip. If you click you're sure, a third screen comes up and says "you're about to pay xxx amount without a tip. Are you sure?" And of course while all this is happening, the staff is starring at your choices intently. Yes, this is a pick up order so I'm not leaving a tip. It was so obnoxious. Tipping culture in this country is out of hand. read more

Wow. The best Indian food I've had in North County. My husband ordered the spicy coconut shrimp curry, I ordered the spicy shrimp tikka misala with a side of garlic naan. The spice level was spot on. The service was good. You can either order from a menu or do Buffet style. Definitely will be my go to! read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. Amazing food, great customer service and a very nice and clean establishment. The staff here are so accommodating and actually provide customer service. We dined here for dinner then came back for the lunch buffet... it's a great value! (and they include unlimited mango lassi!!!) We will be coming back here a lot! I ordered the enchiladas suizas with a side salad instead of the usual rice and beans. The salad was fine, although the ranch tasted like bottled dressing. Unfortunately, the enchiladas just weren't for me. The filling reminded me more of chicken soup wrapped in a tortilla than a traditional enchilada. I was surprised to find celery inside, which I've never had in an enchilada before. It wasn't terrible, but the flavor and texture just didn't work for me. Even though my meal was disappointing, the friendly service and comfortable atmosphere would make me willing to come back and try something else on the menu.

I loved the garlic naan, and everything was very fresh (pro tip - I put the naan in an air fryer to reheat it the next day, just for about a minute, and it came out tasting like it had just been made fresh!) I will definitely come back here again, and look forward to trying more items on the menu. You are lucky if this place is near you, so if you have not gone yet, I'd make it a point too.

Or you drowned your sorrows in pitchers of Coke or Root Beer after a loss. The location in Escondido is massive. The main dining room is humongous and they even have a nice video game room. The pizza is about on par with Pizza Hut quality and that's fine with most people, especially if you have young kids. And, of course, what visit to Shakey's is complete without some Mojo Potatoes? Basically, they are well-seasoned thick potato slices. I like them and there's also some added nostalgic value there. On the negative side, our food took forever to make which was a bit of a drag. Also, there were multiple uncleaned tables on a Saturday night that remained uncleaned during our entire visit. My guess is the restaurant was short-staffed (both front and back of house) which doesn't make a lot of sense on a busy Saturday night. They've got beer and a salad bar (now that's a real unicorn these days) and you can even get anchovies on your pizza (save your hate, they're good). They also have TVs everywhere so if there is sports being played somewhere, this is the place to watch it. I probably wouldn't return for the pizza and certainly not for the dirty tables. The Mojos are solid and if you have young children, are looking to catch a game, or if you want some decent nostalgia, it's worth a visit. Bonus points if you come dressed in your old Little League uniform.
