I'm so happy to have discovered this Indian restaurant. Yes it's a food truck but so much more with tasty food with goodly sized portions. Reasonable prices and a quaint place to eat. They offer inside dining or outside at the tables with umbrellas or takeaway. You can call ahead and order if you'd like to pick it up but I ordered in person and it was a short wait. The nice man even brought it out to my car which was super sweet. There's parking in front and across the little one way street. It's off 1626 but on the side street to cut over past the railroad tracks. For just about $20 I got an appetizer of samosas and an entree of saag paneer with rice. Everything was delicious. I'll be back now that I know it's there and so good.

The chicken tikka tacos were absolutely amazing! The naan bread was a perfect addition to the amazing butter chicken. My dad said "I loved everything.", so the praise for this place was high. A nice little gem of a food truck fin Austin. If you go definitely order the chicken tikka tacos and the butter chicken! If you're feeling something sweet get the mango lassi too!

Y'all need to check out Curry Express!! Highly recommend and recommend ordering ahead. We have gone here twice now and BOTH times the food has been amazing. Even passed the "warm-up the next day" delicious test. The samosas are a tad bit spicy which I absolutely love! The platters are the way to go to try more than one thing. There is outside and inside seating but most folks pickup to go. The staff is very nice and attentive. If you have any questions they are glad to answer.

Wow...I was pleasantly surprised by this food truck. They do offer outdoor seating, but I got my food to-go. The tikka masala platter was DELICIOUS! The chicken was tender and the creamed spinach had a great flavor. I'd definitely recommend. I waited less than 10 minutes for the food and it was packed well. We'll be back!

This is the best Indian food in South Austin. Authentic and delicious. Even the rice has an authentic flavor, not the normal, bland basmati fare typically offered by average restaurants. We had paneer butter masala, chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo and chicken chili. The chicken tikka masala sauce is absolutely the best in Austin and possibly the best item on offer. Get it. Vindaloo sauce is magnificent, although I will warn you it is spicy. Adjust the spice level accordingly if you struggle with high heat. Sweat, runny nose, watery eyes, you'll fight through all of it to clean the bowl. Lamb or chicken, you can't go wrong. My vegetarian friend was delighted with the paneer butter masala. Highly recommend this joint to scratch your Indian itch. Rice pudding is top shelf and helps cool the fire. This is a trailer with plenty of seating out front. We get carry out. Everything packaged well to avoid accidents. Call ahead of you're taking it home.

I had heard online that this food truck was run by people I used to know at my old Indian spot, and I am so happy to report it's true and that the food hasn't changed in the four years since I've had it!!! I got the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and garlic naan and everything was how I remembered it! Amazingly good. I have missed this food so much. I was almost crying in my kitchen dishing it out. I never thought I'd have my favorite Indian recipes from my favorite people again but they're back!!! And there's PARKING. I've had a wonderful evening thanks to this food and seeing my old takeout pals again. read more

My wife and I have been trying new places as of late. Some good, some meh. Curry Express is not just good but GREAT! My wife ordered the chicken 65 since they no longer have chicken tendori. Let me tell you, the flavor on this chicken is out of the world. If you a but of like mmmm. We also ordered some veggie samosas. These tasted really good but they definitely bring some heat with them. I usually order medium spice level and these were getting close to my limit. I had to get a second napkin for my nose. I ordered lamb korma for myself. This was very tasty and buttery. The dish comes with a huge helping of basmati rice. I know we went last night but I'm trying to find an excuse to go back again tonight or tomorrow night read more

Went here for the 1st time Saturday night. Had the butter chicken and it was tender, tasty and fantastic. The authentic rice is great as well. Very friendly service and chill sit down area with plenty of seating. They had a steady crowd of locals as we ate, always a good sign. Curry was excellent, even the paneer was good and I'm not a huge fan of Paneer. Home cooked Indian food for a good price. This place will do good as there are no Indian restaurants in Buda, Kyle or San Marcos and very few in south Austin. They even have Biryani! read more

Just had dinner at Curry Express, which I've wanted to try since it opened. Shared butter chicken platter, chana masala platter, gobi manchurian, masala wings, and samosas. No, we didn't come close to finishing all that food. Platters came with aloo gobi, rice, naan, AND saag paneer. So much food, and all of it beautifully done, fresh, and delicious. Chana masala was the best I've had. Chutneys taste so fresh and bright. Saag paneer is very creamy. Kitchen is a trailer but there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Our order came out nice hot and timely. And yall...The. Food. Was. Delicious!!!! chicken tiki masala platter which comes with the chicken tiki masala, rice,saag paneer, aloo Gobi and naan! It's everything you could want and more. And it was just 15.95!! That's the best deal in Austin. I would like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for Curry Express Texas, a food truck/cum restaurant located in South Austin. The outdoor setting, complete with small gravels and old trees, makes for a truly inviting atmosphere. It's not just the beautiful hibiscus plants and camellia flowers that make this place special, but the wonderful ambiance that is created in both the indoor and outdoor seating areas. Now let's talk about the food. Having tried most items on the menu, I can confidently say that everything is a masterpiece. The curries are light and delicious, and taste as though they were expertly made right in someone's own kitchen. The biryanis are incredibly fresh with well-balanced ingredients, while the Gobi Manchurian/Chicken starters are equally excellent. The naans are absolutely sensational, too, with their soft texture that melts in the mouth. And the drinks are equally delightful - I recommend the Rose milk and Mango Lassi, both of which were perfect. Finally, I would like to commend the staff for their hospitality. They were, quite simply, the best and made me feel like a valued customer. In fact, I wouldn't hesitate to drive an hour from Leander just to experience their great food and warm service again. Delicious and casual...I dream of this place when I'm not in the area! A platter stretches 2-3 meals for me, or would be great to share. There is always a smiling face at the counter and I love that they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The flavors are rich and balanced and comforting to the max.
