I went with my brother last night. I must admit, I have been living nearby for almost 2 years and never felf like I should go. Well... I had a very good dinner for $14 each including appetizer + entrée. More than enough food! I stayed classic and ordered a chicken masala. Very good!! My brother food was good as well (I can't remember the name). Finally, the service was not super fast but they were really nice with us. Curry Heights isn't bad for a neighborhood Indian place, and oftentimes they are very good. The big problem that I have with them is consistency in a huge way. Not that it is ever bad, but some of the curries can range from really good to just mediocre, depending on what night that I get it. Note that I almost always order takeout or delivery. The biggest example is the vindaloo. I'm a spicy gal and I love spicy food, and sometimes this vindaloo comes in a nice, thick curry with a lot of fire and sometimes it comes to me really watery, like they were trying to stretch it out because they didn't have enough for the night. Same with the sag paneer. The breads and somosas are consistently very good though. The mano lassi is a bit too thick and sweet for my taste, but it is good enough. If they could work on consistency it would be much, much better. read more

Solid Indian food. I always get the dinner special. For 14.95 you get naan, rice, an appetizer and an entree. You also get all the sauces. I've had the jalfrezi, tandoori, tikka and masala. The portions don't look huge but are so filling. Enough to make two meals out of. I'm a big fan of their pakora's also. Good, friendly service. read more

This restaurant is a piece of JUNK!!! I went with my family for a evening dinner last week. I ordered for Veg Korma and they gave me Navratna Korma which has fruity flavor. We have specifically asked not to get Navratna Korma as we don't like fruity flavor. But he got Navratna Korma instead. When we inquired, one of the person said it was Navratna Korma and he went to check with his manager for replacement. The manager came after making us wait for 10 mins and said that it is Veg Korma and no fruits were added. We half-heartedly accepted and requested for check with none of the food tasted close to being tasty. Manager came with Navratna Korma written in the check(N Korma in attached image) and changed it to Veg Korma(V Korma) in front of us. I inquired why they are behaving so cheap to the Customers by not accepting the mistake the chef or their people did and making Customers eat what they prepare instead of what is being ordered. The Manager throw-ed my credit card on the table and shouted at me that there is no need of any money. People go to a restaurant for two main reasons: 1) For good/quality food to satisfy their taste buds and hungry tummy. 2) For better customer experience sitting in a restaurant. This restaurant offers nothing but a PIECE OF SHIT!!! If you don't believe me, please check the image which i attached as a proof. When I called the man assumed I ordered from seamless and stated he had no orders. I advised him of our ordering platform, he then states "WE JUUUST GOT IT!!". I have to admit I till recently I've stayed away from Indian food. This not because I didn't necessarily like it but this sort of food especially in Brooklyn and the City simply aren't authentic enough. They tend to lack the bold, colorful flavors that Indian food is noted for. Nevertheless, I ordered take out from Curry Heights fully expecting this to be watered down and somewhat bland. Boy was I wrong. I ordered the Goat Vindaloo and mulligatawny soup as part of their 2 course 13.95 special. First, I have to say this is a lot of food for that price. I spread it out over two nights. Now, for the food I was pleasantly surprised. The vindaloo sauce had the serious kick you would expect from authentic indian vindaloo. I was soaking the included naan (bread) in it and almost didnt have any naan left for the other sauces that were provided to dip the naan in. However, the food was not without its fault. The goat meat while somewhat flavorful alone did not have the fall of the bone tenderness as described in the menu and some pieces was unfortunately dry. Also, there seemed to be more potatoes in the goat vindaloo than goat. The mulligatawny soup was delicious. It was thick and had the necessary (but downgraded from the vindaloo) heat that you want in a good indian soup. Curry Heights more than delivers on taste, quality and portion size. Compared to some of the other places I've eaten in NY, this is probably near the top. The samosas are nice and crunchy on the outside, and filled with seasoned potatoes and peas (my preference). You get two nice sized pieces in the order. Loved the Chicken Tandoori Masala. This place has a great LUNCH DELIVERY SPECIAL available through Seamless. For about $14, you get an appetizer, a main entrée, rice, and naan. The appetizer and entrée variety selection is HUGE as are the portions themselves. I have a very healthy appetite for Indian food, but couldn't even finish the lunch, it was so filling. The vegetable samosas are delicious, perfectly crispy and savory. The chicken tikka masala was a HUGE portion. The chicken was excellent, all white chicken meat, cooked perfectly tender. However, I wasn't a big fan of the curry sauce. It was much sweeter than I'm used to, and definitely not spicy at all, which is why I was a little bit disappointed. The naan and rice are great (I mean... can you really screw those up?). Overall, this is a yummy place to order lunch delivery from, with an impressive variety of items available for the lunch box. This place is definitely my favorite Indian restaurant within the facility of Brooklyn that I'm in -the chicken Teaka masala is perfect from the sauce to the chicken its just amazing and the garlic chicken noon is just an amazing combination that they always get right. My go to take out jam. Prices may seem a tad high, but the portion sizes are really large (1 entree usually = 2 meals for me), and the food is really really good. 3/9/16 - 4 stars. FAST FOOD LUNCH! The place to stuff yourself for $8 with a real ceramic plate, tablecloths, forks, knives and glass glasses. [Grab some lime slices for your water ;) ] So what if it is cafeteria style for lunch,, the food is so good again and they also get a star boost for keeping their price point the same when everyone else keeps raising theirs. Goat Curry, Fish, Rice, Okra, spinach, Dahl, BBQ Chicken all great choices (not hot enough for me, but that is an easy fix!) 11/20/11 - 2 Stars. When they first opened the chef they had made the sauces from scratch and it was unbelievably good. We stumbled upon this hidden gem because it was across from the college I spoke at, it was dark out, and we needed to be heading home. We were not disappointed to find there was something right there. I started with a drink. No liquor, but they do have both kinds of Indian beer, the big beer and the smaller beer. The big one would go great with a paper bag and a straw. I had the smaller one, as I was driving. They played Indian music, which is nice. When I go to an ethnic restaurant I want the full immersive experience. They continued this theme by cramming us into a tiny table worthy of a country with over a billion people. Outstanding! We had four lamb samosas. They were tasty but we had to put in a special request for sauces. The taste and consistency of the tamarind was enough to make me wish I had ordered the big beer. I've been ordering at Curry Heights for a few years now and their Chicken Masala is amazing! I could have it every day of the week... seriously that good! Of all the Indian Restaurants in Brooklyn Heights this is by far my favorite. The Naan Bread is to die for and my husband orders some pretty good vegetarian dishes from them as well. Also highly recommend the Vegetable Rice, yummy! They could improve their delivery time. It takes from 30 mins to 45 mins to receive a delivery from them when my house is a block away.... I can bet two hands down that the cooks taste buds have been compromised by something, ....why I saying this is because they are heavy on the salt...hence my self and my company couldn't taste the food, so it makes me wonder what is being hidden here, salt can be used to hide old meats or to cure old meat thus keeping it longer ... I suspect in this case they cure there meats a brine thus preserving the meats keeping it longer... aging the lamb mark you nothing is wrong with doing that however over indulging in the salt is not halal which makes me suspect other thing...I believe in tasting the Integrity of the food that is served to me I don't need to camouflage of salt sugar or any other condiment over powering the food, I believe that is a popular taste bud opinion, I can assure you that this is not a traditional Indian restaurant... this is a want to be Indian restaurant ... read more

Honestly the chicken vindaloo is everything I've ever dreamed of and more. I could and would eat this everyday.

Great Indian food, the best paneer in nyc (soft And melts in your mouth), had garlic Naan, gobi Manchurian (I prefer more crispy, but not bad), shrimp madras, and veggie curry. They failed my water refill test (when you see empty glass, what do you do as a waiter or restaurant staff); became very impatient after waiting 15 minutes after card was given to pay bill; it probably would have been more than 15 minutes if I did not ask for debt card back while still in their black leather recepit holder; end up paying cash after their staff wanted to process the debt card; me and my fiancee still left a tip. Wow! Unexpectedly, I have found a new Indian favorite, and just in a nick of time!! (My all-time favorite here in NYC was Madras Cafe, which recently has closed its doors in Manhattan.) So what do you do when you're grieving a love lost? Distract yourself with a delicious replacement, of course! While I was working late, I decided to give the relatively new-ish theCurry Spot a try. I ordered some takeout to scarf down while still at the office, and I'm so glad I did!! While I usually tend to order entrees like Saag Panir or Malai Kofta, this time I opted for the Yellow Takra Dal (Yellow lentils with onions, fresh garlic, and spices.) It was deliciously flavorful---rich but not too heavy, with subtle spices that left me with a really satisfied feeling. It was served with delicious Basmati rice, with something orange added (spices?) I also splurged and ordered the Garlic Naan, and it was garlic-y goodness beyond compare. (Probably not a good thing to order during/before a date, although it was quite tasty...) Judging from what I've had so far, the other menu items promise to be very good as well.
