We've eaten at the CoCo near Waikiki several times and it's a hit every time. We actually pulled into the shopping center in Kapolei to grab poke from Foodland and then noticed this CoCo location. Immediately we changed our minds and walked in. I normally get the chicken katsu curry but this time I went with the stewed chicken curry. Think chicken meat so soft it melts in your mouth floating around a spicy curry sauce. At CoCo you get a gigantic portion of curry and rice so finishing your meal is quite the challenge. I asked for the spicy curry and it absolutely delivered. Our server brought over extra dry spice but we ended up not using it. The best thing is the price for all this food is probably some of the cheapest on the island. You can easily get two meals for the price of 1 here.
Curry House Coco Ichibanya located next to Domino's Pizza and Foodland. We stopped by for lunch and it was amazing how busy they were for a Monday. We were very impressed by their staff who were very friendly and accommodating. We tried the Kalbi Fried Chicken Curry (one of their Best sellers). It's boneless Kalbi and Fried Chicken on a bed of rice topped off with their Famous Curry. Our server suggested we try the Spicy because it goes well with the dish and she was Absolutely right. It was delicious with just the right amount of spice. We also got the Chicken Katsu Curry. A nice size Chicken Katsu cooked fresh and cut into pieces covered with their Famous Curry. Accompanied by pickled Daikon (Turnips). Simply delicious . Cozy dining room with your choice of countertop or table service. Take out and delivery available. Definitely recommended for your Curry cravings.
Service was on point and the food absolutely delivered -- honestly, what more could you ask for? We dined in around 5:30 pm and it was pretty quiet at first, which made for a relaxed start to dinner. Within about 30 minutes, the place started filling up quickly -- always a good sign. Ordering was smooth and efficient, and our food came out shortly after without feeling rushed. My boyfriend ordered the spicy beef shabu shabu with spinach, mushrooms, and udon. The broth had a really nice kick -- flavorful, warming, and not overwhelmingly spicy. The beef was tender and paired perfectly with the fresh vegetables and chewy udon noodles. I went with the shrimp tempura udon, and it hit the spot. The curry was light yet savory, and the tempura shrimp were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside -- no soggy batter here. The portion sizes were just right: satisfying and comforting without leaving us overly stuffed. Great service, delicious food, efficient timing -- this is definitely a spot we'll be coming back to.
Good food and good service. You can adjust your rice and/or curry sauce to your liking. You can add more or less of whichever you want. Best price/value for gyoza. 6 pieces for only $2.80
Finally leaving the review for this location. Early Saturday dinner hours before the rush. We were seated quickly, order taken and few minutes later, got the corn salad with bottle of dressing. Our server was fast and courteous and able to answer all of our questions. Overall, food was ok. It was weird to see the lettuce stacked on top of each other. Yes, kinda like individual leaf of lettuce stacked on top of another. It was very hard to eat. My chicken culet was very meaty and I would prefer thinner style. Kalispell curry was good. Ambiance? Not much to comment. That damp odor turned me off as I walked in. It will be a while for my next visit.
Absolutely delicious! We had the chicken and pork, added spinach to one of them. Both so good. There were no tables initially (10 min wait) but we had our toddler and had limited time, so they let us order in advance so after we were seated we wouldn't have to wait as long for food to come out. Really appreciated their flexibility and understanding. They accept Apple Pay which was great since we accidentally left our card in the hotel. Food is amazing and so are staff
Not into Japanese curry but joined some friends for dinner. Was planning to enjoy popcorn at movies so daughter, who frequents this loc advised me to eat the croquettes with curry sauce and rice for a light dinner. Had a long wait since there were six of us, even though we said we would split up into two tables. I understand waiting is common at this loc. Menu is great like most Japanese restaurants because it has pictures of the dishes. Got the croquettes with curry sauce and rice as daughter recommended. Was delicious! Curry sauce - I ordered mild - was very good. Food came relatively quickly but not immediately. Croquettes were just tasty mashed potatoes and the crispy breading was great. Didn't eat much rice since there that so much starch/carbs sincei was saving room for popcorn later but the rice was also very good. One friend had curry udon and a piece of katsu from her husband's meal. She said that's what she usually gets (she is a noodle fan). I would actually come back to try other dishes now that I've tasted the curry sauce if I can figure out how to avoid long waits. Not sure that's possible but I plan to try.
Curry house is my go to when I want fast and fresh comfort food. The service is always awesome here and the food is on point, not to mention you can't beat the price. They have booth and counter seating and you can see them cooking your food. There are no cons I can think of for this location: + food is always cooked fresh, curry is always hot and the fried items are served crisp right out the fryer + you can choose the spice level: 1-10, last time I tried 5 and I think that was my limit! 2/3 is the perfect heat level IMO + recommend asking for you fried items on the side so they stay nice and crispy + service is always nice, food comes out fast, and the prices are very affordable compared to everywhere else now days
Curry! Curry is one of my most favorite things to eat. Idk what I'd do without curry! If you like or even absolutely love curry, you will want to try the curry here. Hands down it smells just like the curry sold in restaurants there in Japan. Smells. The only thing is it seems to smell more yummy than when you're eating it. Like somehow the taste does not reflect the way it actually smells. Does that make any sense?? This means logically, that they are adding an artificial smell factor that does not have anything to do with taste so I guess you will not be getting real curry. I hope they read this and change things back to real curry powder! I've ordered chicken katsu curry with spinach and cheese on rice, chicken katsu curry with spinach mushrooms and cheese, chicken katsu curry and rice, and shabu shabu beef with spinach mushrooms and cheese. The shredded cheese makes the curry so much more yummy. Take out curry plate orders are placed inside a round compartment dish that is divided into three sections, the rice compartment covered by the meat you select with cheese on top, the curry with spinach and mushrooms in its own compartment, and the Japanese pickles in its own mini space. Dining in is a little different. Your curry plate comes served on a plate with a high lip and the curry covers everything beneath. Get your crunchy sweet yet tart Japanese pickles from the little dispenser on the table. Wait service is friendly and kind. They don't need to come see you since there are water pitchers placed on each table for your serving convenience. Somehow even though there are a lot of employees behind the counter preparing the curry dishes, they do not hang out in the dining area so you'll have to flag them down when you need something. Pay in cash or credit card but there's a 3% fee for using a credit card so don't forget to have cash on you before coming here. Since Curry is my ultimate fav, I will return quite frequently!
I'm bummed that the Ala Moana and Pearl city location no longer have the option to dine in so when I was in Kapolei, I had to make sure to get my Curry House fix! We were seated immediately and our waitress was so patient with us. We ordered our food and it came out so quickly we were impressed! We all agreed that curry house is consistently good, no matter what location you go to. Curry house always satisfies my curry cravings! I'll be back to eat my way through the menu!
Haven't been here in a while and decided to stop in for dinner. Once we walked in, we were greeted by a male employee. He sat us right away on a table near the entrance. The restaurant was a little busy and only had the one table near the entrance which seats only two and counter seats available. We ordered: 1) Veggie Croquet w/Kalbi and Spinach (Spicy) 2) Kalbi & Chicken Cutlet (Spicy) AMBIANCE: 2 Booths for 6, 2 booths for 4, 1 table for 4 and 12 counter seats. There is some music playing, not too loud which is good. SERVICE: Our server was nice and checked on us. All of the employees are always so friendly and accommodating. Keep in mind they do get busy especially during dinner hours. Parking near the restaurant can be minimal during dinner but there are usually available stalls at the other end of the parking lot. It is a lot more convenient now because they do take credit cards for payment. It use to be cash only. Although they do take credit cards, they do charge 3% for any credit card payments. We have never been disappointed with the food and would definitely return.

I think I just found my new favorite curry place! The service was so friendly and fast, and my meal came out HOT. That alone already made me happy, but then I saw the price and was even more impressed. I kept it simple and got the chicken katsu with rice and curry. Nothing fancy, but man, that curry was GOOD. It was comforting, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. I also got the vegetable croquette, and I really enjoyed that too. The price was great, the food was good, and I honestly walked away feeling like I found a little hidden gem. I'm always excited when I find a place that gives me good food without making me feel like I overspent. Definitely adding this one to my go-to list! read more

This was SO good. I had the stewed chicken curry and it was ono. Rich, comforting, and with this lovely peppery kick that made the curry seriously addictive. N had the chicken katsu curry and loved hers too. The crispy katsu with all that curry sauce was a winner. The menu is huge, the portions are generous, and the whole thing feels wonderfully unfussy. Nothing fancy, just really satisfying Japanese curry done right. One of those meals where you finish and immediately think, yep, I'd come back here. read more

Came here late afternoon and luckily we were able to get a table. A small establishment but they get pretty busy with orders. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Food came out at efficient time. Food was ono. Place is kept clean. read more

Kapolei Curry House is always consistent with their fast & friendly service. Every time we've been here we're able to get a table immediately. The food is always consistently delicious each time. My go-to is the chicken cutlet with cheese with a side of fried gyoza. Yesterday I switched it up and added on a side of tako balls. Definitely gonna add it to my rotation. read more

After a long day, we needed to feed the kids. Luckily we just happened to find a CoCo Ichibanya in the same parking lot as the Foodland we were just getting basic necessities from. Eating here was a no brainer since all the kids love this place. It's one of our go to spots when we are in SoCal so we walked right in. Service was fast, only waited a few minutes to be seated. Hawaii has a few different options compared to the mainland so after browsing the menu we got the shabu shabu beef with gyoza, corn cream croquet, and a standard chicken cutlet with cheese. It really hit the spot as almost all locations are consistent with taste. Can count on our meal to be good. read more

I love Curry House but since most of the locations don't do dine in anymore it was nice to come to this one to eat inside. I got the chicken cutlet with cheese and a side order of squid. Everything was delicious as usual! Food came out quick and I love how I can add as much of the pickled radish I want when dining in lol. Curry House is a solid option for a comforting filling meal that's not too pricey :) read more

This Curry House is located in Kapolei Village Center nearby Domino's and L&L. The parking lot is pretty tight but we've always been able to find a spot no problem. Sometimes we dine in here but we do takeout most of the time. Tonight we ordered beef curry (only comes in spicy), fried chicken curry, shrimp tempura curry, and fried scallop curry with mixed vegetables. There's some new items that aren't on their regular menu like fried scallop curry, fried tofu, naan bread, etc. When you order, you can do either spicy or mild curry but some only come in spicy. It's really not that spicy, just a tiny kick. There are a few booths, tables and some counter space to dine in but it's a relatively small seating area. Whenever we place a phone order, it's ready within 10-15 min which is great. The price is really good for the amount you get and there are many different options. I also appreciate how you can customize the amount of rice you get. Curry House is one of our go-to takeout restaurants and will definitely be returning! read more

When we visited Hawaii last month, one of the checklist foodie stops on our weeklong visit was Curry House. When we lived in Aiea, the Curry House in the Pearl Kai shopping complex, was at least a once a month visit for lunch or dinner... This Kapolei location did not disappoint. We ate in and sat at one of the sterile booths. The ambiance or decor for this eatery is strictly "spartan like". Remember, you don't come here for the decor...you come here for delicious curry dishes... My wife and I both ordered Curry plates with Stewed Chicken. These dishes both hit the comfort food zone bullseye on the nose. The service was pleasantly friendly from top to bottom. We are so glad, that Curry House has not changed, since we moved away, in providing good Japanese comfort food. read more

Price and service are great as usual! The chicken seems to have changed. Perhaps they used chicken thighs before and have now changed to breast. The white meat seems quite dry and unappetizing to me. If you're into chicken breast, the cutlet is for you! read more

Classic, go-to Japanese curry restaurant. Surprisingly busy on Wednesday at dinner time, was quoted 20-30 minute wait so went to foodland but was seated within 10 minutes. Waited some time for food but was fun to see chef cooking super fast (lots of take out) and guessing which ones were ours. Chef hooked it up with the cheese -- I had upset stomach for days haha. Delicious & super worth it. Despite the crowd it was a quiet & enjoyable dining experience. read more

The Curry House CoCo Ichibanya is a wonderful curry eatery in Kapolei. The service is very good, the ambiance is simple with limited seating. The menu has a variety of curry dishes to select from. Shrimp Curry stew - 3.5/5 This was a very simple dish. The curry was excellent, but the amount of shrimp in the stew was minimal at best. I would have given a much higher rating if it wasn't for the skimpy amount of bay shrimp (see pic). The rice and curry was a perfect combination. Mabu Tofu Udon - 5/5 This was an excellent dish. The Mobu Tofu Udon was very deliciously tasty. The udon noodles were cooked just right. The broth was not too salty, but very flavorful. If you're in the mood for curry, I recommend giving Curry house a visit. read more

Yes, mild or spicy. (Spicy isnt too spicy) you can also ask for red chili powder to make it spicier.

They have dine in. Only 3 tables though. Long waits on a Friday night.

When will you guys start using credit cards/Apple pay? Since it's a pandemic, cash is the last thing people need to be handling. It would be nice to order and pay online and just pick up in store when the order is ready.

Is there ground nuts in the curry?
My sis who is deadly allergic to all nuts and who can't eat at most curry places because of that LOVES to eat curry from here. Im sure it's a no but call in and check to be sure.
