I show up to the buffet who is 8 year-old and a six-year-old and I got charge like they are adults the owner is cheap as heck he has no consideration and his customer service sucks. Even when he makes mistakes he wants to charge you for it when, food could be good but it's not worth the hassle that you get when you go there, their service is slow and you are always getting overcharged. Curry Kitchen has got the best butter chicken around! I get mine medium spicy with a side of their amazing freshly made naan and an order of samosas with chutney. According to my family, I am the only person in my house who likes Indian food... But somehow this stuff just disappears after it comes into the house. I never have enough leftovers to bring to work because sneaky little hands come and eat anything that might be left over! Peggy and I stopped in for dinner today for our first time shortly after 5 PM. The hostess/waitress greeted and seated us promptly with menus. She returned quickly with water and asked for a beverage choice from us. I asked about the spice levels, and Deppa (waitress) said they were for American taste, unless they requested it being amped up. Peggy ordered the Chicken Tikki (in a red sauce) served with a large dish of steamed white rice. I chose the Fish Tikki (roasted mahi-mahi) with grilled onions and green peppers. The serving dish of steamed rice was available for me also. I also ordered a side of Naan oven-fired bread. This akin to fresh baked pizza dough. The food arrived in a timely manner and was piping hot and delicious! My Fish Tikki was cooked perfectly and moist. Peggy said her Chicken Tikki was also hot and delicious. The portions are quite large, so we left with enough food for another two meals. Deppa was friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and courteous, plus she spoke like a native American. They have many menu items, so it may take a few minutes to make a dinner entree selection. We will return and bring some friends also. read more

My husband and my kiddos love Indian food. Curry kitchen is pretty good, we order take-out and every time there is no disappointment.

I went on a Wednesday evening. They were a little overwhelmed - 22 people came to eat but only two wait staff. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes to have my order taken, and about 40 minutes more for the food to arrive. That's the main reason I dropped it to three stars. I had Chicken Vidaloo - a great main course, and a garlic naan bread to go along with it. The chicken was good , but it was not as spicy as I expected. I ordered it at a 3 scale- next time I'll ask for a 4 or. 5. The chicken and the naan were good. I also had a mango Lassi, which was less than stellar. Not sure why but the Lassi was only fair. It was a very good value, but I have had better. For Muskegon , I'll say it was very good. I think the atmosphere was the best part. Enjoy. read more

Normally when I'm in Muskegon I use it as an excuse to go to Curry Kitchen who runs Naan Pizza and today was no exception but it was a huge disappointment this time. Completely missed my order and caused a longer wait, food was undercooked and sub-par compared to normal, and the Caucasian lady working had terrible service by many measures. We witnessed her being heartlessly rude to little kids, throwing other coworkers under the bus, and accusing me of lying or screwing up saying I probably called Curry Kitchen GR. I had to show her my phone to point out I called there. I thought maybe she was having a bad day but believe my wife is right, her nature is just bad. I have repeatedly recommended this place in the past but without an apology or removal of this worker I will trash these guys to the end of time. I have never walked out of there with a small bill so she picked the wrong people to act like a J-Hole. The major mistake I made was always buying tons of leftovers. The overall experience at Curry Kitchen was great. We stopped in on our way back from Sleeping Bear Dunes to Chicago for lunch. We had called ahead of time and realized we were running late for their buffet time. We asked them if it was OK, because it was basically just 15 minutes before this place was about to close the afternoon. They were extremely welcoming. The manager was probably one of the nicest and accommodating people I've met. She not only welcomed us in, she had the kitchen cook up more food, she gave us all discounts because some of the food items were finished, and she checked up on us so many times I lost count. Never had so much attention paid to us even at a full-service restaurant, let alone during a buffet. The reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was I found the food to be OK. It was fine. I mean, the channa masala was fine. I didn't like the mattar paneer. The naan was excellent and she kept them coming as long as we wanted them. The rice on the buffet was quite messed up. Dehydrated to the point of crispy hardness - so that was kind of bad. There were also quite a few meat food options - I think my friends enjoyed that as well, though I'm vegetarian. You know but after being away from home for a few days, overall everyone really enjoyed the food. Plus like I said, the service was so good that it made up for some of the shortcomings. Yum! We stopped here for our son's first "real" meal after 12 days at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp just outside of Muskegon. The naan was light and fluffy- perfectly cooked and dripping in butter. My family of four (2 teen boys) ate 4 orders of it!! We decided to order off the menu and had garlic chicken, lamb curry, and chicken tiki masala between the three of us. Unless you really don't like heat at all, go for a 2 out of 5. My son and I ordered a level 1 and it was way too mild. No heat at all. My husband went with 3 and loved it, but it was too much for me. Went here for my friends 19th birthday. Took about 10m for our server to even greet our table. He then brought our food and couldn't remember who ordered what, despite there only being two of us. He then disappeared without bringing us our garlic naan. A different server told us it was going to be 10m on naan, which is something our original server never told us. After getting our naan, i found a DEAD ROACH cooked on top of one of the pieces. After bringing this to my servers attention, my plate was taken away and loud yelling could be heard from the kitchen. He returned and explained that this place has had a previous problem with roaches, why would you say that to a customer? He then finally apologized and took everything off our bill and we left. Great Indian food! Only did a 2 on the spicy scale and could have handled more. We tried the Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala as well as the garlic naan. Fed 4 people with no leftovers. There was only one person manning the floor for orders and seating customers - so that took a little longer, but we were very happy with the service all together. Food was quite good at Curry Kitchen. We ordered the Indian vegetable naan pizza and the malai kofta entree, as well as some veg pakora. The naan pizza was excellent! All veggies were cooked well, and the naan crust was really impressive. Hope to see more naan pizza options in the future because it's a formula that really works well. The malai kofta was perfectly spiced and the rice was cooked fairly well, perhaps a bit overcooked if anything. Veg pakora was excellent and the chutneys included made this a great appetizer. My biggest complaint about our visit was the ambience--as there was none. We came in a little before 8pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant closes at 10pm, but it seemed like the employees were preparing to leave for the night. There was no music playing despite many speakers installed through the dining area. There was also a lot of very audible banter between the employees, with much of it being a bit bickery which was uncomfortable. It made for an awkward visit and it was hard not to focus on this conversation happening around us. Some music would've assuredly helped. But in the end, the quality of the food here definitely helped raise this from a 2-3 star experience to a 4, though in reality, this would be closer to a 3.5 star experience. All the meals were at least $15. Someone in our group tried to order a naan pizza but were told they don't have them available. The service was slow. We got tea, which was strong and good but not bitter, with sugar on the table. We ordered two curries, given the option of a 1-5 spicy scale. Choosing a 3 on the spicy scale, our mouths were a bit warm but comfortable. Would order a 4 in the future. :) The chicken korma was good, and the kadai paneer was excellent. Updated again, staff has changed and things are looking up. The Curry Kitchen and I broke up today. I'm still SO sad. I went there once, twice sometimes even three times a week. But four times in a row I went for the buffet and it wasn't filled, the food was cold and the naan was tough. I figured since they were moving buildings that was why. Today I went to the new building ready to rekindle my love. It was the worst ever. Some of the food wasn't even room temperature it was just flat out cold. We told the waitress and she just stirred it and said "well the pan is warm", never even checked the actual food. Our drinks weren't refilled and when we asked for more naan we were given two very small pieces. I won't be returning. Man will I miss it. We are from California and were visiting family in Muskegon so we were excited to go to an Indian restaurant for dinner. We didn't think that there was Indian food in Muskegon! We are very familiar with Indian food, having had many good home cooked meals with Indian friends. We started with the samosas and naan, which were very tasty. Our main dishes were butter chicken, lamb briyani, chicken Kashmiri tikka, and lamb roganjosh. Our spice order ranged from 3-5 which turned out perfect for our taste buds. The amount of spice stayed true to the order-3 was manageable heat and 5 was perfect for my husband, who loves spicy food. The food was amazing! The ingredients were all good quality and the flavors were on point to a home cooked Indian meal. We came to Muskegon to find some of the best Indian food we have ever had. Probably one of the best meals I've had in Muskegon in a long time. My family of 7 (including two kids) were able to sit right away as it was a Wednesday night. There was only one waitress (very friendly) and so it probably took a bit longer for the yummy mango lassi and guava juice to arrive. But the food came out all at once and it was so delicious. The mango beef was tender and the Palaak paneer was fresh. The veggie korma had lovely hunks of what seemed like home grown veggies (healthy portions). The pakora and samosa were spot on and the dipping sauces were perfect. The spice level for the food was on the mild side for the ones at our table who adore spice and asked for medium. They offer kids options (mac n cheese, chicken nuggets) which is really nice for picky kids. The overall space is decorated beautifully and very clean. This was our first visit and it was pretty quiet with only a few customers when we arrived. The decor is not going to impress and there was an old Bollywood movie on a T.V. with Indian music playing on the sound system - definitely something that could be improved upon. That being said, the menu was very extensive (many more items than on the website) and our waiter was both personable and attentive - a definite "plus". I ordered the mixed grill and my wife tried a chicken dish (a newer item on the menu with coconut as an ingredient) as well as some Naan bread (which was wonderful!) and a couple of glasses of wine. Everything was made to order and the freshness of the ingredients and preparation were obvious. Our waiter was very concerned that the spices were not going to be too much for us - which I appreciated - and we enjoyed our entire meal.
