If you want to deal with a business that is polite, prompt and very knowledgeable about their products, then this is the place. CTA installed my Amp Research Powersteps on my 2018 Toyota. I live in the SF Bay Area but purchased my truck at Dolan Toyota. They sent my truck to CTA for the install. A couple of months after the installation I had an issue with the steps. My first thoughts were that the steps were not put on correctly. I contacted Caleb by phone at CTA and explained my issue. Caleb listened to me very diligently and I could tell that he was really paying attention to the issue. He did not give me excuses or try to tell me that it was not their problem. I could actually tell he cared. After we spoke for a while he assured me that the steps were put on correctly. I took his word for it and decided to contact Amp Research. They asked me to take photos of the steps so they could observe and decide what they could do. In the meantime my wife and I decided to take a trip to Reno. While there, I went to CTA so they could see for themselves the damage to the steps. Caleb was not there so I spoke with Kent and told him about the issue. I just wanted to make completely sure the steps were put on correctly. Kent and two of his installers came out to look at the steps. They took a lot of time and were very courteous and friendly. They all agreed they were definitely put on right. As it turned out, Amp Research decided that the linkages were defective, thus causing the steps to hit after moving up. CTA was right on! In ending, I just wanted you all to know that everyone I dealt with were very courteous and respectful. They realized I had an issue and even though they knew the steps were put on correctly, I was given a lot of time and respect. Caleb has been very prompt with giving me the information that I needed to send to Amp Research. I could not ask for anything more from a business. I had these people put a lift on my truck and had to come back a number of times to get certain things put on to use 4 wheel drive in high mode. I also asked if they could keep my vehicle some what clean on the inside and the person attempted to clean... when it had Mudd on the inside... and his comment towards me was I gotta clean this shit! So I believe that their customer service sucks and I'll only deal with Donnie down at folbeck 4 wheel drive. He knows the business and not a bunch of young punks throwing parts at your vehicle when it doesn't need it or forget to put parts on to make your ride drive the way it needs to. I did a lot of research on 5th wheels for my truck that would fit the new trailer I bought. I called several stores in Reno. One had a 3 month waiting list. Another said 2 - 3 weeks, and quoted me $2800. I called these guys and they saved me $1000, gave me a better product, and had it in the next day. Furthermore, when I had problems with the adapter on the trailer, they came to my house on a Saturday and fixed it no charge. I will not do business with anyone else in Reno from now on. I was having work done by an auto body shop. As part of the repair, I had them replace the factory bumper with an aftermarket one. The body shop sent my Tacoma to Custom Truck Accessories to do the bumper install. When I got the truck back, it looked like the bumper was installed by a stoner in a high school shop class. It was tilted at a rakish angle and looked terrible. I went to Custom Truck and nicely asked if they could level the bumper out. All I got was a hostile east LA attitude and was told that nothing could be done about it. The mechanic that did the install said I would have to pay more for him to try to adjust it. After a few minutes of this posturing, I realized this was a losing proposition and left. I sent photos of the bumper to the manufacturer, and they said it could be leveled with the use of a couple of washers. Needless to say, I'll be fixing this botched installation myself. I see no reason to go to a shop like this when there are other reputable 4wd stores in town that are more than happy to make things right with the customer. My advice: avoid this place at all costs. read more

we went in last week to check out side steps for our brand new Ram, found a set that the guy said would fit real snug to the truck and not hang low! Great! Well NOT Great when we picked up the truck today! The steps hang way too low, they stick way out talk about Ruining an Awesome Truck. On top of all that not one of the guys working greeted us or asked if we had any questions or Hey what do you think of the steps?! Nothing, just told us what we owe and that's it!! I needed some new tires mounted and balanced at first of the year. After calling around for prices Custom Trucks in Reno quoted me the best price. Having that done wasn't an issue until I went to rotate my tires, 3000 miles later, which I usually do myself. Grabbed my breaker bar and I tried to loosen the lug nuts. They wouldn't budge. Borrowed bigger breaker bar. They moved. Or so I thought. The lug nuts were actually breaking. 5 out of 6 on one wheel. I don't know what the tech torqued my lug nuts to but clearly it was way too much. I went to Custom Trucks first thing the next morning. They asked if I had done my brakes between the time I had tires mounted and that day. I told them I hadn't done anything to my truck but change the oil at which time I was going to rotate my tires. They weren't going to take responsibility. They said they could get the broken lug nuts off but it would be a minimum of 2 hours labor at $130 an hour. there was no way I was giving them any more money. Especially since the problem was not my doing. so, after about 7 hours a mechanic friend and I got them off. I had to replace the studs and lug nuts and buy my friend a 12 pack. I would not recommend this place at all read more

We just had running boards installed on our Toyota 4-Runner. These guys were quick and efficient, the car was ready within an hour and half of dropping it off. The running boards are great. We have had other accessories put on our Tundra and have had nothing but great service with everyone we deal with there. Javier was a huge help with the running boards. This place is a joke, the first time i took the truck in and dropped of I Received a phone call that they had received the wrong part (understandable). Went back picked up my truck. Next week had to call them and find out if they recived my part said it was in and to bring my truck down. After them having my truck for a 45min they informed me now they have the right part but not all the pieces to put it together, (unacceptable). So now the truck will be going in a third time. Then in front of me they decide to bash there vendors. Who knows where the fault lies but as a professional shop this should not happen. read more
