Do not go to this barber if you are looking for a cut an hour before closing. I got off work at 6 and got there by 6:10. The guy seemed nice, but told me he couldn't cut my hair. There was only one person in the chair. I thought I could get a haircut because it says they close at 7 on Yelp...He also recommended me to 911 fades that closes at 7:30, but as soon as I was in the door at 6:15 they tell me they're closed also. Kendrick the Master Barber did his thing and left me with a super clean fade that was so on point I didn't wear a hat for a week. This place lives up to it's raving ratings and reviews. (Chet is the only other person I would let cut me up - he's the s###). L has been my barber for darn year 20 yrs. He is an artist in every sense of the word. Came here to get my son's hair cut and based off the listed hours of operation it should be open...but is not. Greatly disappointed! Even on the door it lists the hours as open Tuesday through Sunday from 8:30am to 7pm - well it's 3:30pm on a Sunday and this place is closed. Typical self centered barbers that only cater to their own specific customers. Not very welcoming to walk- ins or new customers, the wait time is always over an hour and when you make an appointment the barber either doesn't show up or forgets he booked the appointment. I'm extremely disappointed because they try so hard to appear different than your average shop with the whole uniform look but after bringing my son here a few times with the long waits and failed appointments the shop was a let down! If you don't already have a relationship with a barber you will be treated like an inconvenience!! Don't waste your time!! And if they don't know you they don't want your business! Not many reviews on this place, and like what Loren said, I would like to keep it accessible. Still, these guys deserve to get your business! After some failed attempts by my previous hair stylist to achieve the edgy look I was looking for, I decided to go somewhere that was used to sharp lines and fading. I was a little skeptical because I've gone to a barber before and ended up shaving my head afterwards because it wasn't what I was asking for. Saw the great reviews, saw this place was only 2 blocks from where I live, so I figured I'd go take a look around. Right aways, I really dug the layout, style, and overall quality of the shop. A nice, simple menu with some pics of the kind of work they do. P-Nut was the barber that helped me out. I was taking a faux hawk/mullet style in a picture and doing my own spin on it. P-Nut really took the time to understand what it was I wanted, and step by step, we started shaping the cut just right. He edged the hair REALLY well. Holy shit man, I've never had my hair line edged but it really made a huge difference. I was so impressed, and I said might as well get the face cut too. I thought I was going to be in there for a while, but I ended up getting to the car before my girl who went next door to do some grocery shopping. Within a week, I was back to get it all done again before my vacation to Germany. I have great confidence in all the barbers there, they all do great work. If you're like me, you may not have known this place existed, but it's definitely worth going in and getting your next 'do or shave there. Went there for the first time today. The clientele is mostly black and I am white. Wallace gave me the BEST haircut I have ever had. The place is classy, with leather armchairs for customers and the whole place and staff REEKS of class. More expensive than my usual places, but worth EVERY penny! For it being my first time here today I went for a cool while without a hair cut and needed one very soon. I hate going longer than two weeks without a hair cut and I love in Long Beach walking distance from here and I always go get pho next door from here and one day I looked it looked pretty awesome so I figured I'll give it a try. I got there around 9:15 am and P Nut had one kid in front of me so it was a small wait, no problem for me I didn't mind. Once I sat in the chair I showed him pictures of how I wanted my hair, and all I have to say is WOW!!!!!! These guys are talented in what they do. For my first time there I had a extremely great experience this guy worked miracles with my hair. One of the nicest barbershop. Very dapper looking barbers. I was in town to get married they are mainly by appointments but Kendrick got me and my 2year old in no problem. I wish these guys customer service was as professional as their attire. Especially this guy Big L who is apparently the manager. I went in there as a new customer twice and both times he was rude and just an asshole. First off, dropping F bombs in front of new customers is a sign of disrespect towards other customers present. But he clearly doesn't seem to care much about the customers he is not friends or familiar with and will not show any extra courtesy for new customers. Two weeks ago I walked in without an appointment and both barbers were busy, which is fine. But when Big L got done with his last customer he just stood there and started talking and going thru his phone, not even acknowledging me as I had been waiting for the next available barber to take care of me for like 40 mins. So I walked up to him and asked if he could get me. He basically refused, saying he has to eat and has another person coming for an appointment. After he got done doing whatever, he still didn't get to me even tho I had told him all I needed is a lineup. No apologies, no word of courtesy or nothing. Then when he saw I posted a review that was critical of his behavior, he asked the other barber that was about to take care of me to not provide me service and just kicked me out of the shop. All of it after I waited for a total of almost two hours. Worst experience I've ever had at a barbershop, pretty pathetic coming from a business manager who obviously thinks he's all that. I've read similar reviews from people who have also been critical of that not-so-friendly-to-new-customers behavior. It's shame that as a manager, instead of trying to figure out how his behavior could be better and try to improve, he instead had his feelings hurt and got so mad. If you don't like negative comments, why don't you try to provide better service and be more courteous towards new customers? Obviously, I won't be going back, but as someone new in the area, I felt obliged to share this disappointing experience. read more

I decided to cut my hair and go short again. Went in and received an awesome cut by a young man name Kendrick. He asked what kind of cut I was looking for and was very precise in executing just what I wanted. He's also great with a straight razor.
