I brought my car here for a maintenance service oil change and added a safety check This place is so dumb and never going to bring my car back here and I only did it out of convenience close to home Had an appointment at 8 am but they said I didn't so showed them my appointment on my email so they took my car in they said 1-2 hours and would call me guess they did call but went to voicemail and I didn't know So finally I checked after 4 hours my car was done I called to say I was in my way no answer so I texted Mike He called saying he called and left a message...ok I get there to pick up my car pay for it they didn't go over what was done his excuse was that he wasn't there when I picked up my car .. so that means no one can go over information about the car figured that's how the do things Got in my car drive away and my tire pressure is wacked out 38 46 front 34 and 37 back wth!! so I called to see if that was ok because idk anyway no answer again so I take a pic and send it Mike calls back and says I can bring my car back to adjust but it was an easy fix so said no ty just called to ask if that off pressure was ok it was not Go home to look at my safety and all my old expired stickers on my car so again I call Mike no answer so I left another message text saying why ??? Mike said they failed my safety due to out dated registration ok so apparently I gave the wrong registration but the current one was in my glove box!!!! If someone would've simply said something about it BEFORE I left I could've gave them it and done!! but Nooooo have to come back monday because they are closed on the weekend but if you look at the hours it says open 9-8 sat they need to update the web site went there Monday and had to wait for them to do my inspection Again after I just had it don't friday afternoon Mike says no I have to wait 45 min to 1 hour!!!! Who ever put my stickers for safety and registration did NOT put back my cover on my license plate and just threw it in my car Thanks for nothing your service is the worst your communication sucks but mikes says sorry about your tire pressure... omg ok and not for the inconvenience of my safety check and bad communication don't go here it's the worst!!! read more

Got an oil change 2 months ago, 21 march 2024, from this dealership and now getting low oil out of nowhere, which has never happened before. I called, and they told me there must be a leak, but theirs no evidence of that, nor have I had that issue before. In order to have them top my oil off, I have to pay them $180 for Diagnostics, and then they will top off my oil if they feel it's their fault. This island has the worst service areas for GMC hands down. So, to add to this terrible experience with this GMC and trying to fix their mess up. I took my vehicle in to O'Reilly to get my oil top off before dropping it off at Midas. Me and Mr. Zachary of Kailua O'reilly's were shocked at what we saw. Not only was my oil low, my coolant cap was off and I hardly had any coolant, my battery had this weird blue stuff everywhere which wasn't like this prior to March 21 2024 when I took into this GMC for an oil change (makes me think they didnt change my oil since I was missed 2 and 1/2 qt) they were also supposed to top off all my Fluids, instead, they left the cap off my coolant and didnt Replenish the fluids. I'm going to speak with base legal because if it wasn't for my car warning me, god knows what could have happened to my family and me while driving. You guys should be ashamed. read more

Service Center is really bad. Took it for oil change and tire rotation which was part of a gap insurance package and things seem to wrong with my car after getting it out of the shop. The first time was my starter which they failed to tighten to specs which resulted in one of the wires falling off and shorting out and the starter to catch fire and burnt. Another time I took it for another oil change and all of a sudden my Ac stopped blowing cool air. Found that there was a leak by to service port to add more freeon and had to get that fix. Another time when taking it for service the service manager recommended that my coolant change was due so I had them do it. A few months later I decided to top off my fluids and discovered that they had put universal coolant instead of GM DEX-COOL. Spent avwhole day to completely drain my system and put the correct coolant. As a GM Service center, I find it strange for them to carry universal coolant when all GM cars take DEX-COOL coolant. I feel my car was being setup to fail and because of that I had to check every nut and bolt in the engine bay to make sure nothing was loose. The sad thing about my parents and I have been a loyal Cutter customer for decades and now they lost my trust and they won't be my first choice anymore. Since I've been faithfully coming to this particular location for more than seven years, I've never turned back. This is my third vehicle I've been bringing into this location for whatever needs to be done. It's pleasant knowing the employees that have been my service advisors still work here. A few in higher positions (which is awesome) and able to "talk story" while checking in or just the usual "how you been?!" To me, when employees remember certain aspects of your life thru talking over the years, the experience becomes personal and accommodating. I appreciate that very much!! Usually after my vehicle is serviced, they wash it! That's always a plus!! They do have a fairly large waiting area with a flat screen television, complimentary coffee, tea, and a water dispenser. Wow...talk about dishonest, shady and pushy. Set up an appointment to drive a Denali Ultimate. My wife and baby were with me. Salesperson (Desmond) super nice young man and knowledgeable. His finance manager absolutely tried to rip us off. BTW...I am almost 50 and retired military. Wife is active duty. Brought a quote slip with EVERY add-on as if they were PART of the vehicle sale. That is a separate conversation (once you decide on the vehicle). For example: extended warranty, tire and wheel package, etc. He literally walked up and had them LISTED and stated, this is the OTD price. Before we get upset about that dishonest and shady tactic, he listed the price of the truck $17,000 OVER MSRP. There was ZERO dealer markup labels on the vehicle when I test drove it. When I questioned this the next day, he sent me a picture of a tag (that was NOT in the vehicle when I drove it).....hmmm. Regardless, this is exactly the type of behavior and practices that need to be addressed. These dealerships are ripping off the local community as well as the young, hard working military members of our community. If want to get a vehicle....shop around on the mainland, buy it, and ship to Hawaii. I assure you it worth it. We ended up buying the exact TRUCK on the Mainland for $73,000! BUYER BEWARE! If I could choose just one word to describe this place and the people, then that word would be SLIMEY! If you are a woman or elderly... DON'T GO BY YOURSELF. These people use the, "i'm going to borrow your keys and never give it back" tactic to keep you there as long as possible. I went here to test drive a sierra 1500. I made it very clear what model and trim I was interested in when I made the appointment. I was looking for a truck and was trying to decide between a full size and a mid size. I made an appointment to test drive the gmc sierra. Upon arrival, they seemed nice and professional. They were quick to get my license and start the process. They were a little slow getting the truck to the front for a test drive, but after the whole scenario played out I think it was just part of their tactic to wear you down and make you tired so you just start giving in to them. To make it clear I was only there to test drive. They (supposedly) didn't have the lower trim I wanted and (supposedly) they weren't getting any in this year AND they did not offer to check the other cutter dealerships to see if they had something. ANOTHER ONE OF THEIR TACTICS. When I visited the Pearl city Cutter, the lady was all for trying to find me what I wanted to buy and even told me of other cars at other cutter dealerships she could bring there. I made it very clear that I was willing to wait for a lower trim and wasn't in a rush to buy. The manager's answer (Melvin) was, "oh we aren't getting anything." After test driving the truck I flat out told them (because they kept pressuring me) that I wasn't buying an $80,000 truck. He said he had something else and had me test drive an older model, similar vehicle and said, "Oh, you would save $20,000." So, i test drove the next pre-owned truck that cost 60k just to placate them. In my head, I thought i may still have to deal with these people for a Sierra so I wanted to remain cordial. I could tell the truck they were trying to sell me was battered and abused by the previous owner and it was a HARD NO. An hour and a half later, my 5 year old son is starting to get cranky. It is a school night and it is getting late. This was, literally, only supposed to be like a 30-45 minute process with a test drive. At this point, I asked where my keys were. They had taken them to "test drive" my car for trade in value. Matt goes to find the manager, Melvin. This takes like 15 more minutes for them to finally bring me my keys. He had me come inside and wait, which I realize now that it was another tactic to get me to stay. While inside he starts showing me paperwork (while waiting for my keys to get back to me). At this point, I should have just left. But, like I said because I thought I may have to deal with these people in the future I was trying to be nice. I repeated to them multiple times that I have to go, it is getting late and my son needs to go to bed. It was only when they sat me down with a CONTRACT and tried to get me to sign for an 80 THOUSAND DOLLAR TRUCK that i got pissed off. They had no regard for my child. They were only thinking about themselves. My son was cranky and it was showing and they didn't care. I told them that I couldn't spend 80k without talking to my husband that we were on the same page and they told me, "well, if he wants a happy wife, then he should just let you buy it." What the hell??? seriously. They also tried to give me 25K for my 4wd 2018 4runner that I know was worth way more. When they started to show disregard for the well being of my son is when I finally got angry and said, "I'm leaving. I have to go. This is not good for my son." We left 3 hours later. I will NEVER EVER go back to that cutter. Who is this dealership for? Probably if you are desperate for a car and don't have that great credit etc. These people will, literally, do anything to get you to sign your life away. I received calls multiple times a day after leaving the dealership. I had to block the numbers they became so annoying. Fast forward. I bought a Tacoma and I will 10x over rather go to the Toyota dealership than this place. They help you get WHAT YOU WANT and NOT WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO GET RID OF OR SELL. read more

I made an appointment to see a particular vehicle. When I arrived, the staff seemed rushed and confused. Even though I had been assigned a certain individual to talk to. Not a big deal but not a good first impression. I let it go and was there for the vehicle, not the customer service. I couldn't have been more wrong. I hopped in the car for a test drive and it didn't even start. Three separate individuals tried to help. Not a single one of them was even able to open the hood of the vehicle to see the problem. These guys STILL tried to sell me the car! With no discounts! They straight faced, wanted me to give them thousands of dollars for a car that wouldn't even start. Obviously, their offer was rejected and I was interested in another vehicle. Took it for a test drive and really liked it, I was willing to talk numbers. To their credit, I was offered a very fair price for my trade in. However, for the high mileage car, 45k in two years, they wanted me to pay $9000 OVER BRAND NEW STICKER PRICE. What a joke. Went in today to take a look at a used Sierra. They offered me $15,000 for my truck. Below is a picture of what my trade in value should be. They wasn't even close. Not going to do business with someone that lowballs that much. They wanted $45,000 for their truck and with my trade in offer I was to finance $39,000. The manager called back and attempted to make it right and told me he could get the total price with trade in to $19,000. That's a $20,000 difference. I get it, they are in the business to make money but $20,000. Not today guys. Also, below is a picture of my truck. It's worth more than $15k. Update: General manager called with a more realistic offer and offered $26k for my truck and total cost out the door would be $16k. I understand the process of back and forth as I have bought a lot of vehicles in my time. WARNING!! Do not purchase from this dealership! They are terrible and very unprofessional! They sold me a 2017 White Suburban which had a messed up transmission and they claimed they knew nothing about it which I doubt. They refused to let me turn the vehicle back in claiming that I already signed the contract. They had a nerve to say that they'll put me in a temporary loaner vehicle for Neil they repair the transmission. I told them no, they will be receiving the vehicle back! I was so pissed and told them take these keys are I will take legal actions. I received legal advice from attorneys and they told me I was in no way obligated to take this vehicle, especially after the stunt they pulled selling me a Suburban with a messed up transmission hoping I wouldn't notice the way the vehicle was slipping and constantly jerking. I dropped off the keys the next day and left. They threatened to get the SUV impounded and that I'm still responsible for the vehicle. They also said if I don't take the vehicle, that I have to at least buy something else from them but they wasn't letting me go without purchasing something. They also ran numerous credit inquiries on me after I stopped purchase of the vehicle with my credit union but they tried using their shady lenders with a insane 15% interest rate. I spoke with their sales manager and corporate manager, and they were all in on this plot to get me to purchase from them. Worst experience of my life! Their whole dealership is shady? Do not purchase from them because they are crooks! It was totally illegal what they did. Be careful not to sign a contract with purchasing from them, they'll try to fight you to the end to buy from them and even threaten you. I ended up purchasing a new 2022 Silverado truck from Servco Chevrolet instead. The best decision I've made. Best experience at a car dealership ever. My Yukon had issues and Cutter GMC was the only dealership that answers the phone. Its pretty bad when you need to take your vehicle to get serviced and the dealership doesn't pick up the phone or call people back. Thankfully, the service writer who helped me (Kaina) was easy to get a hold of and was really helpful when I called. I dropped my Yukon off on a Wednesday. Kaina told me that they'll work on it as soon as they could. I got a call back the next day with the work order and Kaina let me know they could get to work on it shortly. I ended up getting my truck back on Friday all fixed. Great service and at this point its 2022, the dealerships need to do a better job and taking care of customers. Thank you to Koa Hepa whom was the person who sold me the car a year and a half ago. He and Joseph from the JN location kept him informed. The struggle is real, because they also offered to put me in a new Mazda 3 at dealer cost. However, I really do like my current 3. Customer service has improved greatly since the last time. (Better management, for sure)! My only drawback is that the part was special ordered and they do not offer rentals since they recommend to drop it off. I work in auto service as well and I know that the staff has that feeling that oh, that customer who gets manager treatment is gonna be a push-over, but whatever, I think if they treat me well, I will gladly recommend this location. My review is only about the Parts & Service Department: I came her about a year ago after purchasing my 2011 Mazda 2 from Tony Autoplex. The passenger seatbelt wasn't locking and they fixed it with no problem. The warranty was still good and they were kind about it. I came back today because my car keys grew wings and flew quite a distance. The keyless remote had broke and only half was still functional. I called about a week ago and spoke to Jerry who was able to order the parts and gave me a good deal on them. He was great with allowing me to send him photos of what was left of the key and from that, he knew what part to order. When the part came in he called me right away and I made an appointment to go in the next day (today). I made an appointment with Jonathan who wasn't upset I was 30minutes late :X He gave me information on what had to be done and told me about the free inspection they do on the car. The estimated car wait was around 2 hours because it was busy, so I ended up going home (I live near by) . Jonathan then called not too long after to let me know my car was ready. Their free inspection let me know some things needed to be changed and flushed, but he was not pushy toward anything. He also gave me good news that the amount due on my car was less than what I was quoted. I truly feel that is department works hard to get the best prices to customers and are very friendly about it. Many dealership are so pushy to makes sales and quotas that they forget that giving someone a deal will always bring them back. I never was a fan for Cutter, its name has a bad reputation. Because of the excellent service I've got both times for being here I will be back and would recommend this place to anyone with a Mazda!! My only concern would be the parking area for services cars is very close to the cars for sale. Going in for... service be careful not to hit any new cars. Service department did transmission service as requested on 2014 Buick Enclave. Tech Overfilled transmission fluid by 3 quarts leading to transmission overheating and leakage that affected catalytic converter sensors with fluid that boiled over the fill cap. Both could have led to $$catastrophic failures. In addition they charge me for an airbag wiring repair THAT THEY HAD DONE PREVIOUSLY on warranty. Did not reset position of tire air pressure sensors after tire rotation that led to to over and under inflation of tires until discovered.Poor attention to detail (competence?). Caveat Emptor/ buyer beware when visiting Waipahu Buick service! read more

Bought a truck from the dealership about a month ago. Crazy story but we literally stopped by to look at one truck and head home. Jason Doss was the sales attendant that met with us and showed us around. We ended up talking and he showed us some other vehicles. He showed us the right one, because a few hours later we drove it off the lot. Much of the experience was great, especially because Jason was so friendly, helpful and like a long lost cousin. He was feeding my little one snacks and drinks, drawing with him , helped with keeping him occupied the whole time( buying a car is no fun for a 4 year old) . Seriously, Jason is the best! Make sure to ask for him when you go to purchase a vehicle. The only part of the experience that was less than stellar was dealing with the sales manager, he was so negative and rude. If I could give this place a ZERO I would. I went to get my vehicle serviced. Simple oil/filter change. Not only did I wait for a long time, but one of the other workers there was annoyed (verbalizing it) because they were overbooked today. The waiting area is filthy and not comfortable. First off, the cutter dealers in Waipahu feel like a fly by night operation that could be gone the next day. You walk in and their showrooms are empty, no decorations, either no furniture or furniture that looks like they picked it up off the side of the road. Anyway. I sold my vehicle to this dealership late 2021 because I was starting a business and needed all the $ I could get. We agreed on a price and signed paperwork, which I must add took several hours. But it took them just shy of TWO MONTHS to write me my check. Their excuse is that they "have to" wait for the DMV to put the title in their name so they "know they don't get screwed". Which makes no sense, I signed the paperwork, gave them the keys and the physical car, and they paid off the car with the bank right away... but can't be bothered to write me my check for 2 months? Ridiculous. I started getting frustrated after it had been a month, and followed up several times. Each time I went in nobody seemed to know what I was talking about, one time I even heard a manager talking to another guy about my paperwork asking what it even was, apparently the guy who did my paperwork screwed it up somewhere and he didn't even know what he was looking at? Several times they "took down my info to call me back" and never did, and I had to follow up myself. When I asked why the process takes so long and told them I sold another car to another dealer who paid me instantly, they got all defensive and snappy and gave me attitude saying "well that's not how we do business", you don't do business by paying people the money you owe them promptly? Also at one point they straight up told me I'd have my check in 8-10 days, then 14 days later told me it was going to be another week and a half. I did eventually get my check, but it took 2 months, about a half dozen phone calls and 3-4 physical trips to the dealer, and finally telling them I was getting my lawyer involved to get it. I cannot stress this enough, stay away from cutter! Go anywhere else. In hindsight, I wish I had sold this car to Tony Hyundai in Waipio, the paperwork was done in a fraction of the time, and I was paid immediately, AND the staff were friendly and even had someone drive me home, whereas cutter didn't offer a ride home and I was stuck calling an Uber home late at night in Waipahu. Go anywhere else to buy or sell your car. read more

I was quite pleased with Cameron when we first arrived. He was pleasant and was not pushy like most car salesmen I have met. We went specifically to look at a newer model Mazda 3, that we were promised did not have any smokers. That was not the case, as it smelled like smoke and had burn marks in the seats. I was about to leave when Cameron showed us a 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback with only 11K miles. I was again about to leave when I got the price, but Cameron worked with us and Shane to get to an acceptable price. All of this is pretty much expected and I would only give a mediocre rating, except that Cameron continued to keep in touch and help us matriculate through the red tape and bureaucracy with getting a second fob and service at the Honolulu Cutter Mazda (not even his place of business). He kept his word... something that doesn't frequently happen when buying a used car, especially! It is mostly because of him that I am pleased with my purchase and experience with Mazda! It's that time again for servicing our vehicle. Bright and early Ms Cora is the sweetest thing, smiling and cheerful greeting. What I like about the service is that Cora recognized me before checking in, for not going there in a while. That is Great Customer Service, that an employee acknowledges someone before checking in. Office is clean, there is a television, newspaper and snack vending machine along with water dispenser to choose hot or cold and coffee. Though I brought my own drink I was able to refill my water as I waited for my vehicle. At check in I asked how long would it be as I had another appointment at 10. I was there at 7:40a done by 9:30a, Great Fast Service. There were a few technicians that came through the waiting area and they either said Good Morning or have a Cheerful Smile! Even the guy in the parts area Smiled as I was sitting right there . Overall Friendly Staff and Great Service Once Again! You cannot find staff like this all the time. This is a Great Crew ~ Keep Up The Great E Here again to service our car being the holidays I thought they would have left for the day got here about 3p. I had an appointment earlier this morning but was called into work so I thought if I got there early in the morning I could be seen then , disappointed I was too early and wasn't able to wait had to go to work. So after I finished work I rushed back from town to check if they were still open and yes they were , yaay! Ms Paishon helped me she was sweet and understanding she gladly said ok and the rest of the staff were just as nice. We usually work with Cora though she is no longer working here .
