New Year, New Car. Decided on a Toyota, and so glad we did. Patrick Ibarra was recommended by a couple of family members, both of which recently purchased new cars from him. Definitely bring a jacket, this place is super freezing. It didn't take long to receive an appraisal for my trade-in, and the approval process to finance with Bank of Hawaii was fast. We requested to look at RAV4's prior to signing the docs. We were shown just one RAV4, no additional options and got a brief 2-minute rush through of the key features, while we peaked at the interior through the windows. I was eager to sit inside of the car, but knowing Pat had another customer waiting we didn't want to bother any further. We decided at that point to allow him to finish up his customer, so we left to grab a quick bite, and to gather our thoughts. We returned within an hour and the Finance Manager, Dan Kashima was waiting and ready for us. Dan was super patient while we decided on the type of "extras" we wanted to include with the financing. He was so good at explaining things, he didn't pressure us and made sure we understood the different packages. It was a real pleasure talking stories and connecting with him on a personal level. Once the car was prepped and the docs were signed, Pat took his time to explain all of the features in detail and he seemed very excited for us. Just a quick review update for Servco's service dept... I have my car go through routine service every 6 months and since day one have always had a great experience here. From the check in staff, the service consultant and the check out cashiers, they are always top notch. One of the things I really love about this Leeward location is they have a complimentary car wash that they can run your car through if you request it. Since being in an apt now and no longer have a house where I can wash my car in the driveway, I've made it a lazy habit of only washing my car every 6 months whenever I get the car serviced. ;-) One thing that was new since my last visit that I'm a bit irritated at is if you pay for your service with a credit card, they charge you an extra 2.5% on your bill...bleh! Honestly, I came in with the intention that we picked the right salesperson (based on positive IG referrals & Yelp reviews) for our family in determining if the Toyota Sienna was the best fit for our needs in comparison to a Honda Odyssey. We came in on a Wednesday Afternoon & scheduled a showing with Gerald to see the different Sienna's available to compare amongst the trims. I knew it was going to be awful when he addressed me by a different name (no worries, i know this happens - not a big deal). Coming from Hawaii, you know that you are going to always do a sale when working in Toyota as it is a staple for locals to drive. However, no matter how many sales you do, I am a firm believer in customer service & putting effort into each family you come across versus just treating them as a number/easy access to your commission. From our interaction, I felt as if I was just browsing around with the Siennas on the lot & answering my own questions/googling what the differences were with the trims available. He did mention that we were not able to look into the xse or the xle since they were already sold (super understandable & respected that), but I wish he went more into depth with the specs & actually cared about the customer service he was providing. While asking questions/engaging in a conversation, we was always on his phone, no eye contact/no care into providing information on the vehicles we were interested in, and even in the waiting room area/lobby, while discussing potential payment plans/finances, he was watching TV & texting in front of our faces. It was SO UNPROFESSIONAL - honestly even if he tried a little, he would've absolutely gotten a sale out of us as we are loyal Toyota customers. Coming from California, it's common to see the sienna platinum & I asked if they had that & he said there is no such thing. I even mentioned "the highest trim with the vacuum and fridge" & he gaslit me & said you must be thinking of Dodge. That's when we knew he was inexperienced nor knowledgeable with Toyota, despite if they had the inventory or not. At the end of our conversation, he stated that he will contact us if a van we were interested in (White XSE and/or XLE) became available & stated he had our phone number.... but I never gave him my number. Long story short, even if I was desperate for this van, I would call back the next day, ask for another random salesperson & give them the commission. First time heading to Servco Leeward & surely the last! Please avoid TOYOTAS at all cost. I was very hesitant in buying Toyotas. Never liked them but wanted to give Toyotas a chance since I been reading reviews and hearing from friends who are yotas owners that they are "reliable" vehicles. My first mistake was even considering Toyotas. I owned Mercedes and still am a Mercedes owner. I also was an Infiniti owner as well. Long story short, my Infiniti finally gave out on me and it was so hard to let my Infiniti go as it was very luxury inside as well as the power to that car. As tough as a decision on not putting more money in to fix my Infiniti, I just decided to trade it in for a newer car since my Infiniti was an older model 2005 G35. I first went to Acura, in hopes of buying an Acura but the car that I was interested in was actually not available. Go figure because it was advertised as available and the guy at Acura who was helping me couldn't find the vehicle. Then later found out that it was used as a loaner to someone. That was such a turn off so I decided to leave Acura and come to Toyotas as I was still wanting to consider buying from the Waipahu dealership. Even after my own research and reviews from friends about "reliability" that was only in my mind because I was going to use it as a commuter anyway for work and all my daily errands since I only use my Benz on the weekend rides! Anyway, when I was at Toyota, I was looking at those newer cross SUVs. However, when I was speaking to the sales lady "April" accordingly to her, there was NO CARS ON LOT TO BUY. Apparently you have to "preorder" then and sometimes the cars are months out to buy. Like um helller, I'm here with funds in my hands and needed a car right there and then since I already was ready to trade in my infinity and just sign. But NO i dont know what in the right mind a dealership still have such a limited cars ready to purchase. That's just ridiculous and unheard of. Anyways, I told her that I needed a car. I didn't want to wait months out to order a car nor I did I want to keep coming back and fourth to a deal ship since I was already there. Several cars I already test drove but didn't really want anything to my liking. Then she finally found a "Camry" SE that I was somewhat satisfied considering in buying. So it was available and I finally came to a decision overall based on "reliability". The sales was fine like any other process. However when I came to the finance department not sure but I felt like the finance guy was a bit weird. Just the way he was sale pitching me as to why I should buy tire warranty and extended warranty. Anyways, fast forward. This was the worst vehicle I ever owned as a brand new car. Within the first year of even owning this car, these problems started. Too much too note that Yelp didn't allow me to share all the issues I had with this vehicle if just the 2 years I owned this vehicle. I don't know what location is worst. Waipahu or Pukolua or just in general ALL Toyota deal ships. I should have stuck to my luxury cars and bought better if I was dishing out $40k on a damn Camry. I'm so GLAD I DID NOT BUY A LEXUS. Got a brand new 2025 trax about 2-3 weeks i got a nail in the shoulder of my tire. I thought "thankfully i got the upsell for coverage". Appointment is one month out, it is 2025 99% of customers will have camera phone. Which you have the ability to send a picture with tire infor and location of nail. So instead of do so they make the person wait a month take up 3 hrs of there time which actually only takes 30 min to figure out if the tire is on island. Have them wait an additonal day because they dont have a exact spare in stock they have a tire the meets tge criteria of allstate for a eeplacement. Whatever you do dont get the upsell they dont care about the customer what so ever. I was also trying to get a tacoma before this car and at the honolulu location. I advice the rep i needed tge truck by friday they said they had it instock at their storage facility 30 miles away. Two days go by come back to do the paperwork and grab the truck and he tells me it will be another week. So ultimately dont go to servco cuatomer service sucks, common sense is lacked and the warranty packages is nice but if anything goes wrong you will have to wait over a month for something that coukd have been expodited quicker if common sense was used. read more

We scheduled an appointment for March 3 at Waipahu Toyota to address a knocking noise coming from under the steering column of our 2017 Toyota 86. The week prior, our daughter received a text message confirming an appointment on March 3 for the six-month service of her new Rav4, which she purchased at the Honolulu location. Since she was unaware of our appointment for the 86 and did not need service for her Rav4 at that time, she canceled the appointment, not realizing it was actually for our 86. After our daughter informed us of the cancellation, we contacted Servco Waipahu to verify the situation. It was then we discovered that someone from the Waipahu service center had texted her to confirm the appointment. When she canceled, it resulted in the cancellation of the repair appointment for our own vehicle. Our daughter's name is not listed on the ownership documents for the Toyota 86, and she does not reside with us. She purchased the 2025 Rav4 last year, which is registered under both her and my wife. In contrast, the Toyota 86, bought at the Honolulu location, is registered solely under my wife's name and mine. We are concerned about how the service center mixed up the ownership details between the Rav4 and the 86, leading to our daughter being contacted regarding the service for a vehicle she does not own. Despite contacting Servco Waipahu to resolve this issue, we did not receive an explanation for how this confusion occurred. After the initial cancellation, we rescheduled the service for our 86 to March 16 at 10:15 AM and dropped off the car at that time. By 3:30 PM, my wife called to inquire about the status of the repairs, only to be told that the vehicle had not yet been inspected because there was no technician available. It was frustrating to learn, after waiting more than five hours, that no progress had been made. This situation led us to question why an appointment was scheduled if there was no technician available to handle the repair. As a result, our day was wasted, so I decided to pick up the vehicle and sought assistance elsewhere. We brought the car to another location on March 20, where the issue was successfully diagnosed and resolved within about two hours. This experience left us questioning why an authorized Toyota dealer, responsible for both sales and service, did not have the training or resources to address the problem efficiently. We expected the dealership's staff to have the necessary expertise and support systems to troubleshoot such issues.
