Warning: Cutty's sandwiches are HIGHLY addicting!! My boss introduced me to Cutty's by convincing me to split half of her sandwich with her. Luckily for both of us we work about 2 minutes away from there. It was the heavenly Greens Bacon sandwich, and after having it I couldn't get it out of my mind! Literally, I was dreaming about this sandwich. So simple, but so amazing. After a few months of a wonderful love affair with the greens bacon, I decided to try the roast beef 1000, even though I'm a little iffy on roast beef. OH MY GOD. greens bacon who? I am currently in the middle of a roast beef affair, and honestly have such a dilemma when deciding what to get I miss the greens bacon, but can't seem to pull myself away from the roast beef! That's all I've managed to try so far. Hoping soon to go in on a Saturday to try the pork rabe sandwich. Only downside is their hours, the close at 3 pm and aren't open Sundays (which is a bummer for me because I work every Sunday and evenings). Okay food. Way overpriced. Staff uncool. The food is nothing special, but is decent and fresh. But man is it overpriced. Absolutely love Cutty's! One of my go-to's is the half spuckie which is beyond delicious and very filling! You definitely get your money's worth in both size and quality. Today, however, I stopped by for breakfast and tried a "basic breakfast sandwich" (egg and cheese on an everything bagel with red eye mayo). I was not disappointed at all! Insane sandwiches every. single. time. The roast beef 1000 is extraordinary with delicious rich, buttery brioche that melts in your mouth and it's Iggys so no surprise why it's other worldly. It's then topped with a very generous portion of high quality house-made roast beef and a thick slice of sharp cheddar that cuts through the layers upon layers of meat, topped with quick-fried crispy shallots that nicely breaks up the meat and cheese while adding that superb garlicky-onion flavor and is topped off with house-made 1000 island dressing for the win. Next up was the Ham Pimiento that comes on a toasty baguette that serves as an excellent vessel. It's stacked high with ham, slightly sweet pickles that add a nice acidic finish and loads of creamy house-made pimiento spread that's finger lick'n good. You will want to buy a small tub of this stuff to-go to address impulse cravings. Loved the flavor but the bread was a bit too crunchy for my liking. Service is friendly and sammies are up in no time. There isn't a lot of seating until they finish their construction so be prepared to get it to go. I got Cutty's for take-out and was shocked at how huge the sandwiches are! They're not cheap at around $9 or $10, but worth it given the quality and the size. My boyfriend and I shared the Spuckie and the daily special (something with Thai sausage). He was crazy about both of them, but I was not as big of a fan; I would have preferred the Roast Beef 1000, which seems to be the most popular choice. I went there for CRAZY Sunday fried chicken sandwich. They were indeed deep super FRIED. The line was long and we were pretty excited for its famous fried chicken. The first two bites were good before I realized they put tons of mayo on it. I had to use napkins to take some dressing off. Their home-made chip were disappointing. Too dry and no flavor. After half sandwich done, I was debating if I should finish it but I don't think their fried chicken mayo leftover gonna stay good. The lady who sit next to me was staring at me since she got her half one wrapped to go. But then I felt okay once finished this guilty pleasure fried chicken. The next day, NOT SO GOOD!!! MY body was sick with all oily fried chicken. It took me three days to recover it. Roast Beef! I think I tried another sandwich once at Cutty's. Their roast beef sandwich is the best sandwich I've had in greater Boston in 20 years living here. That may sound like hyperbole, but I'm serious. I've had the roast beef 5 or 6 times now and I keep going back! The sandwich is an artful combination of flavors. The roll yeasty and soft, but dense enough for the sandwiches ingredients. the meat and the provolone are both high quality and sliced very thin. The Russian dressing is delicious and the crispy shallots are so dark, I nearly mistook them for bacon pieces. (The shallots may be my favorite single ingredient on this masterpiece.) The staff is friendly and helpful. My first time in, I was impressed at the coffee knowledge and passion of the man who took my order. (They serve Terroir coffee.) Some reviewers have commented on the prices being high. However, taking into account the high quality of the ingredients, I say you get what you pay for. read more

I wish I could come here more often, but every time I do, it is definitely worth the 40 minute walk. The eggplant spuckie is my favorite sandwich I've tried here (the carrot olive slaw is drool worthy), but the pork rabe on Saturdays is also really good. I have now had the chance to try the chicken sandwiches and they definitely live up to the hype! I like the BBQ one, and my husband likes the honey mustard. The new spicy one is good but definitely like the others better. They use quality ingredients and the bread is nice and crisp to hold up to the inside of the sandwich. The limeade is also perfect - it tastes just like the fresh squeezed limeade my grandma used to make. Lots of fresh lime flavor and not too sweet. Get a large! If you are fortunate enough to come on Friday or Saturday, you must try something from Breadboard Bakery. I definitely recommend the kolaches - delicious yeasted dough filled with fruit and cream cheese. Being from Texas I can tell you this is the real thing! The wacky cake is also great - super moist chocolate cake with a buttery mocha frosting. Service is quick and friendly, even though there is usually a bit of a line. I can't say enough good things about this place. I have had nothing but excellent experiences here. Both spuckies are wonderful, the greens shallot is a revelation, and the pork... oh, holy crap, the pork... Do yourself a favor... get both. Eat half of each. The spuckie was a really interesting combination of flavors with the olive-carrot salad. I'm not a big fan of olives and the taste was a little overpowering, but I still think it was a solid sandwich. I had my sandwich pressed so that it would be warm and the cheese would melt. The roast beef 1000 needed to be warmed up a little bit. The brioche was slightly warm but the middle was really cold. The homemade chips are very thin and slightly burnt which my friends like it that way whereas I prefer chips that are golden. Tried Cutty's for lunch today, it was delicious! There was a big line but it moved relatively quickly. The cashier was very nice and the owner was there as well. The source of their ingredients is on a large chalkboard next to the menu, which is always cool. We got the roast beef 1000, the spuckie, and a limeade. Both sandwiches were awesome. This is a great sandwich shop that is minutes from Brighton. And yes, Guy's head is spray painted on the wall but without DDD, I never would have went to Cutty's in the first place. Yes! Yes! Yes! As part of Day 2 of the 'enjoy every sandwich' road trip, my boyfriend and I stopped at Cutty's for lunch. With the dog in tow, we opted for take out and ate al fresco nearby. We made Cutty's a destination as it is, supposedly, the one of the 'top 50 sandwiches' in the US right now, making it the best in MA. And boy do I believe it. We shared a Spuckie and a RB1000. One was more delicious than the next. The thinly shaved meats, the salty-sweetness of the carrot/olive salad on the Spuckie... divine! If I lived in this town I'd be here at least once a week.
