During my dogs yearly bloodwork, some of his levels came back outside of the recommended ranges. Dr. Y suggested doing an ultrasound on his spleen to make sure nothing more serious was occurring. Well, he found a mass on his spleen that was potentially bleeding. I was able to get my dog in for emergency surgery the next day and was able to have his spleen removed BEFORE it ruptured. Dr. Y's thoroughness saved my dog from a potential horrendous emergency situation. I've said below, but he truly cares about the animals. The staff at Padonia is extremely incredible and they always give so much love to my boy. ******************* I moved into the area about 6 months ago and was lucky to find Dr. Youssef at Padonia Veterinary Hospital. He's helped me NUMEROUS times. I rescued a kitten who was misdiagnosed at Banfield Hospital and almost passed away (his weight went from 2.2lbs down to 1.2lbs). Dr. Youssef put him on medication and provided guidance that helped me save this little dude. He's now a healthy, happy, 5mo kitten. If it wasn't for Dr. Youssef, I'm sure he wouldn't have made it. In addition, my 150lb dog has been to Padonia multiple times from limping, to thyroid medication refills, to an ulcer on his eye. Padonia is always there for me. They've fit me in last minute on multiple occasions, they've been available to answer my thousand questions, and they've stuck around late to make sure I had medication. I can't speak highly enough about Padonia. I left an incredible vet and was worried I'd never find the same thing again. I was wrong. Padonia has been beyond incredible. The assistants that work here are incredible, they'll love your animals as much as you do and they'll remember you by name. Their prices are some of the fairest that I've seen. Padonia is also the type of vet that will not ask you to do unnecessary procedures or give your animals unnecessary vaccines/medicine. I'd also like to mention that Padonia has some of the fairest prices that I've seen. I highly recommend Padonia Veterinary Hospital to those of us that love our animals more than we can even explain.

Our cat was in desperate need of euthanasia and it happened abruptly - I phoned around that day and this was a vet who could come that same day. His fee quoted was $395 (I was ok with that) and an additional $295 as a new patient! Yes - a new patient who was going to be dead within hours of procuring the service. I'm scratching my head over this and cannot reconcile the - well, the unethical behavior -- The vet was kind and very professional - But this monetary component has left me with a very sour outlook. (I haven't even mentioned that I was told he would arrive at 6:30 --- was then phoned at 6 to confirm that he was on his way -- only to wait another 90 minutes (the location is 25 minutes from my home)). Save for this shady handling of fees, I would readily have considered using this vet in the future as it is closer to my home --- but not now. If I hadn't been so desperate to help my cat, I would have chosen another route.

When he is available, he checks in on our dog to see how he is doing. The treatment itself is administered, most of the time, by the technician who runs the desk. She does it all (at least on Saturdays). She checks people out, schedules appointments, gives laser treatments and clips nails. Every once in a while this can cause delays, like that one week where the lady was giving her pet's life story and running through her entire month schedule while trying to set up a follow up appointment. The line got three deep that time. That was an exception. The majority of the time we are in and out with our scheduled appointment. Overall, prices are reasonable and Dr. Bishop and his staff are personable and total animal people. That's exactly what I want from a veterinarian.

For what I needed, she gave my dog a through exam, listened to what I told her about my dog and showed her a short video I took so she could understand more of what I was seeing at home. After the exam, Dr. McLewee talked to me for about 40 minutes about what should be done diagnostically to see if they could find out what is going on. After our discussion, she sent Jessica in with two estimates for me and indicated she would send the notes from the visit to both me and my primary vet within a week or so. I certainly left with answers but also more questions for what I should do with my 15 year old sweet dog. The $310 for an initial visit with this doctor was certainly an expense for me but reasonable enough to get this full assessment for my dog. I had been to another provider in this practice for my other dog and it was much more for the initial visit. I highly recommend both this doctor and this practice.

The costs here are significant and I expected that. When I expressed concern about the ongoing costs for lab work ($400) every other week I was told I could get the lab work done at my regular vet and forward it to Dr. Klein. So I did take him to his regular vet, but as soon as I did that. I was ghosted by AVIM. It's been over a month now and still nothing. The receptionist will only confirm that the doctor does have the lab results. In a cruel twist of fate, Augie passed away today less than a week after his last dose of the chemo. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Leaving three stars because although they are really nice there and seem to genuinely care about…read moreanimals, I feel like they are too quick to recommend euthanasia. We brought my mom's cat in who had suddenly become very ill. The first thing the vet recommended was euthanasia, citing the cat's many health issues (heart failure, liver failure, kidney failure). Just a day prior the cat had been eating well and full of energy, even tried to climb a tree while I walked him on his leash. The vet went as far as to make us feel guilty for NOT euthanizing him, telling us it was their duty to advocate for the animal's interests. My mom opted to get him hydrated and stable and we brought him to our regular vet the following day. The vet acknowledged his health issues but suspected that his kidneys were at the root of everything. He flushed the cat's kidneys over several days and now he's back to his old self. Maybe a little thinner, but he's eating well, purring, seems to be very happy and comfortable. He does have to get subcutaneous fluids now, but many cats do and it doesn't affect his over all quality of life. In retrospect I don't think euthanasia was the right call on that day. If that is recommended to you by this vet, I would definitely get a second opinion. Unfortunately, people in an emergency situation will probably not have time to read this review. Sadly, our wonderful primary vet who got him stabilized has since passed away.

The Doctors gave our kitty 6 months to a year to live. Before they would treat her, we had to sign an agreement to spend 4000 to 6000 dollars. My daughter is there - we love our kitty -- what are you going to do? Ginger died the next day -- not 6 months to a year later. The Hospital Director said "sorry, no partial refunds -- it's company policy." So -- if you think this is a reasonable practice, okay -- but I don't. The workers there love animals, the corporate leadership stinks and is just another example of the scam economy we all live in now.
