I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Sujan M. at CVS for helping my husband during a very scary situation. While my husband was out walking, he suddenly had a low blood sugar episode and almost fainted. He didn't have his phone with him and was trying to find someone who could help him contact his family. Thankfully, he was able to make it to CVS and met Sujan. Sujan immediately recognized that my husband was not feeling well. When my husband told him that his blood sugar was low and he felt like he was going to faint, Sujan quickly found glucose tablets for him, helped him sit down and rest, reassured him, and called me so I could come and help. I am incredibly grateful for Sujan's kindness, patience, and compassion. He was attentive and genuinely cared about helping my husband when he was vulnerable and needed help the most. We have been using this CVS for our prescriptions, and we feel very fortunate to have such a caring employee there. Thank you so much, Sujan M. Used to love this pharmacy. Helpful warm staff. I would send everything here because of them. Fast forward four years - overworked harried staff often insists they need something from dr office that they don't, tells patient things are missing when they aren't, and generally acts as if they are just overloaded. Sometimes very helpful, the people working the checkout out are often very efficient, but then today the new guy with the sour attitude (only to women from my observations over 20 minutes waiting) and their systems that leave the customer caught in the middle between them and dr office. Too hit or miss to make me want to stay a customer. There are other choices. CVS corporate is who I blame. read more

Be wary of this pharmacy - they dispensed me the wrong medication, and hours later when I got an alert that the correct medication had been filled and was ready to be picked up I drove all the way back to be told they were out of stock and needed three days to order it. So four days without medication because they're disorganized and generally carry very little stock. Never again. read more

This cvs location years ago had friendly helpful staff. Today the store is so busy and understffed that the employees seem on the edge of nerevous breakdowns at any moment. They never answer their phone if you call with a question. A few hears back cvs purchased a local pharmacy near the Albany store and immediately closed it and fired the staff. The purpose was obviously for the purpose of getting rid of competition, and the result was endless lines at this store in the cvs chain. I still use this store because all of the stores up and down Solano avenue are gone. I have no choice. I pity the employees. They still do their best. read more

This is a really excellent, conscientious, diligent pharmacy. They are seriously understaffed, which I'm guessing is not the fault of the individual staff members there, but can lead to long wait times occasionally and sometimes to a bit of inflexibility if a customer is doing something complicated and they feel pressured to keep moving. But if you bear with them, you see that they really are focused on doing everything they can to get the big things right. read more

Just got back from a failed visit to the pharmacy here and thought I'd check to see if others had bad experiences. Yup. My 6 year old daughter needs to re-up on vaccines, and when I called ahead, the pharmacy here verified that we can just walk up. Great - that's ideal, because I'd rather pop in when my daughter is mentally prepared to get a shot. Today was the day, and she was ready. We showed up, headed to the pharmacy, and stood at the open counter. There were three or four pharmacists standing around, and only after I said, "Excuse me" was I acknowledged. The lead (?) on shift said, "We're on lunch." "Okay, we're not here for pick up - we're here for immunization, walk up." "We're on lunch." "Okay, when does lunch end?" "2. It's on the sign." I nodded my head, looked around, and then saw a very - VERY - unclear portable sign that listed the hours. At the very bottom it read: LUNCH 1:30 - 2:00. It's going to be a 20 minute wait, so I ask my daughter if she can make it, or if she wants to go for it another day. She says she wants to get it done today. Sure, no problem. We will wait. We take a seat and immediately I hear the lead grumbling about me to the staff. It kind of surprised because I know I wasn't being rude. I decide to ignore it and distract my daughter with cute photos on my phone. While we're waiting, I see not one, not two, but three people come up to the pharmacy counter - which, again, is open - there are zero signs obstructing the path to the counter. The same lead is rude to all three of them, saying to them - nearly verbatim - what she had told me. And I hear the same grumbling about each one of these people by the lead in the back. After the third one, the lead heavily sighs, goes in front of the counter, and grabs that portable sign. She flips the paper that lists the hours to reveal a very obvious AT LUNCH UNTIL 2 PM paper underneath. She puts this portable sign in front of the counter. Damn, could have saved a lot of passive aggressive energy by just placing them in front of the counter to begin with. Anyway, 2 pm rolls around. My daughter is ready. And we go up to the counter. "I'd like to immunize my daughter." "And when is your appointment?" "We're here for walk up." "Yes, but we're too busy for walk ups." "Wait, but we've been here for 20 minutes." At this point, someone in the back says, "Well, maybe _____ will do it." The lead shrugs, goes in the back for a moment, and then comes back and says, "No, sorry, we're too busy for walk ups. But we can schedule her for an immunization." "When?" "For another day." "Excuse me, I said we were here for walk up immunization." "We're too busy for that. Okay, can I get the name and date of birth?" A pharamacist then walks up to me, immunizations in hand, and asks me and my daughter to move out of the way so she can make her way to the immunization station. We move out of the way as I begin to reluctantly share my information. But then I look at my daughter, and I'm detecting that she's getting upset, and I realize that the window has passed anyway. "Nevermind. We'll figure this out somewhere else." My daughter and I begin to walk away, and I hear the lead, or one of the other pharmacists, murmuring about how I needed to make an appointment. That does it. I snapped back, "You are not communicative at all. We've been here for 20 minutes, you knew why I was here, and you made us wait anyway. It's so rude." Then we left and got froyo. Anyway - take from that what you will, I'm just one person, and while it's possible that I just caught them on a really shitty and uncommunicative day, looking over the other reviews, it seems in line with an established pattern of behavior. I will never come back to this pharmacy, nor this CVS, and I will discourage others from doing so as well. read more

We tried to buy razors here and no one had keys for them, even though many employees were there. They literally shrugged like they had no control over the situation. We instead bought cheap razors that weren't locked up, and the advertised sales price didn't apply. Horrible experience; it actually felt like us coming to the store was bothersome to these employees. read more

I have been in many times to this location. The pharmacist are great. The retail clerk in the front of the store, the tall AA man is very lazy, and sits on the display shelves, practically on the floor talking on his phone the entire time, each time I visit. The last time I was there, he was commiserating with a friend who happened to be visiting the store about how he was soon going to quit. That was about a week ago. I would prefer not to shop at chain drugstores, but they seem to have driven the independently owned ones out of business. This CVS location is small and feels local. I needed something and when Nina and I had lunch at Chez Mansour Wednesday we were right across the street. I stopped in Thursday as one of my errands and found what I wanted after a short search. I wasn't greeted as I was 10 years ago and escorted by a staff member as I was then, but they were busy checking out other customers. The store has both a short flight of stairs and a ramp to the rear section by the pharmacy, so it's quite accessible and I found what I needed back there. The man who checked me out was not particularly contactful, but I liked that he asked me whether I wanted a receipt because CVS receipts are excessively long and I don't like them. This is not the first time I've returned to this location since my initial review and it won't be the last. read more

Often chaotic. Once they gave me 10 pills when the prescription called for 10 days worth of pills, which was over 30. It caused me to miss a day of the regimen. Today, day four of waiting for notification that a prescription is ready which is normally ready in 24 hours, I called to check on it. After waiting on hold 10 minutes, the person who answered was tremendously annoyed that I had called to ask if my prescription was ready, and told me I should check my account online. One star because you have to. I'll start by saying I despise dogma that supplants human kindness. After my ORAL SURGERY my surgeon's office assured me my prescriptions were ready and waiting for me here. I drove there directly, but happened to arrive 1 minute into a "lunch break". There were 4 employees working in the pharmacy but they made me sit and wait until that lunch break was over to spend the less than 2 minutes it took to help me. So I sat in their chair in pain and bleeding from the mouth to satisfy their dogmatic BS. I work in customer service, and this IS NOT customer service. I have always tried to support this local pharmacy but the staff turnover and waits are unacceptable. The manager is ruder than most of the staff and actually told me when I called re a prescription to do it online or if I needed to discuss something with her that I could not do online that I "need to be patient". This is not the first time she's been incredibly rude. The only good tech they had Gabby is no longer there and I no longer will be using their services. If I could give this pharmacy zero stars, I would. They are rude, unprofessional, incompetent, and dangerous. If you call on the phone, you will wait and wait until their phones just hang up on you. I am trying currently to fill my husband's prescription for nebulizer solution. This is a common drug for severe asthmatics that CVS either doesn't have on site or are telling me that Medicare does not cover this drug that was covered last month and dispensed by the same pharmacy numerous times. I have made four trips to this pharmacy trying to get the drug filled. I told them that my husband needs this drug to breathe after Covid. My doctor finally suggested that I get a Good-RX coupon online. Why did CVS not suggest this three days ago? We are having the same problem with oral prednisone sent by the hospital emergency room yesterday. CVS can't find the prescription. I spoke with the ER and they just sent it again. These pharmacists and staff do not care. CVS should either close this branch or hire professionals who care about their client's safety. I am transferring our account to another CVS in town and hoping for better service. Meanwhile, I will send a complaint to CVS corporate. read more

Do not go to this pharmacy if you want any type of service. I was on hold on the phone for 15 minutes just to be told they couldn't help due to computers down. Ended up going in and my meds were on hold and they didn't know why. I went in again the next day after receiving my text alert that the meds were ready. I waited at the window for 10 minutes with no acknowledgment. After 10 minutes they called another person and took that person before me and told me they were waiting longer. When it was finally my turn they had difficulty finding the medication's. All in all the worst customer service ever. read more

I have a hard time hearing (Yes, I wear hearing aids). If I ask them to repeat something they have said, you can feel their impatience. One woman made me cry one day because between her accent and her mask I could not understand. So she yelled. Now I'm not just embarrassed but the whole store knows my business. Today the pharmacist had to tell me something and she couldn't even come to the counter to talk to me - she yelled across the pharmacy. They got the same prescription wrong three consecutive months, even after they told me they'd put a note in my file to stop it happening again, and two of the three months they tried to charge me four times my correct copay. It took multiple phone calls/visits to get it sorted out each time, and they were super unhelpful every time. read more

Awesome!!! Kudos for a job well done! When I visit the Albany store, I am greeted with a friendly hellos. The pharmacist Melina or Salways go the extra mile. This pharmacy has not only turned it's mess into a fine tuned piano Many times I have questions and many times I have not only received a return call but the alacrity the proactive style for which it's done. The store is great Fran and Tenzin seem to always know how to troubleshoot any situation. The staff are incredible, Melissa, Celine, Walid and Sen it doesn't get any better than this!!!! read more

RUN from this pharmacy. I've never experienced a staff that treats their customers like an annoyance. They are completely under staffed so the most simplest of tasks takes way too long and the staff is way too rude about it.
