A pharmacy run by drones is a dangerous thing. I had just switched insurance providers and asked for my two prescriptions to be sent to CVS. After giving my name to the pharmacist, she proceeds to ring up just one of the two without even mentioning the second one. When I asked about the second prescription, she said that since I was out of network they couldn't fill it - WHAT?...she never even asked what my current insurance was which was in network. Ok, we figured that out and so I waited for another 10 minutes and she then tells me they couldn't fill it because of a missing scan, yet somehow they had the prescription order which had been sent over. I'm sick of dealing with an absolutely incompetent individual - luckily another person working in the pharmacy walked behind the counter and showed the pharmacist where the attachment was so she could fill it. Now I remember why I stopped using CVS - they hire drone people who can't think if there is even the slightest hiccup in their process. Good thing I can be an advocate for myself, but imagine if someone with Alzheimer's or a language barrier had to deal with this - ugh! read more

Was the only open pharmacy in the area and I decided to shop while waiting for my prescription to be filled. I asked an employee to unlock 23$ tweezers for me...and he insisted on escorting me to the checkout, not allowing me to even touch them! Good job cvs for making your customers feel like criminals. This is a big store but they run it with as little staff as possible -- to make it more profitable I assume. There is perpetually a long wait at the front checkout counters - doesn't matter the time of day - and the pharmacy is constantly overrun with people getting meds and limited register people to take in/give prescriptions. The one poor pharmacist that was working looked like she had been to he77 and back given all the scripts she had to fill that day. I wish they'd open another CVS in the neighborhood as this store isn't an enjoyable one to visit. read more

Kristen at the photo center should not be working in customer service bc she is super rude. I was trying to print photos which I was almost finished and the she told me that I wasn't supposed to be back there because there was a leak. I was almost done printing and she wouldn't let me finish. There wasn't a leak. I had already been there for 10 minutes and no one had said anything until I was about to be done. Usually I go to cvs by my house but I needed antibiotics right away for my 2 year old. I think I always get ok care at any cvs.. but this one had a staff member so amazing. I wish I got her name. She was working at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday May 18, 2019. So whoever you are I so appreciate you! You were not only kind but extremely helpful above and beyond. My son has been throwing up all night and he really needed his antibiotic.. but I didn't know how I was going to get it to stay in him without him throwing it all up.. I never heard of nausea medication.. which I wish I did for the other times I had trouble getting meds in my son while he was so sick and throwing up.. needless to say.. I got it from his doctor and it worked so well. Thank you sooo much! Again.. so sorry I didn't get your name! But I hope your boss sees this and gives you a raise! read more

This review isn't for the store but the Minute Clinic located inside the store. I was seen by a lovely nurse practitioner by the name of Christina. She took care of everything and did it adroitly. She was friendly and professional and like any good practitioner told me the truth. ( I knew I needed to lose ten pounds but thanks for keepin it real anyway. LOL ) I had some testing I needed done in order get health clearance for a new job. Everyone else said the testing would take a WEEK (I only had three days) and Minute Clinic was able to give me results THE SAME DAY. That put all the other doctors offices to shame. I was able to send on the results and get my new job. Thanks Minute Clinic it was totally worth the hour and a half drive to Burlingame from Vallejo :) read more

The cashier should not be working with the public. She has absolutely no customer service skills what so ever. I have been here several times in the morning and she seems to always be the one that checks me out. She is rude, condesending and not meant to be working with the public. I will no longer shop at this location because of the past experineces that I have encountered. It's a shame that people are so miserable and are allowed to treat customers unkindly. read more

Very bad pharmacy, pharmacy manager lied that she is not the manager and gave a floater pharmacist's full name to inform our family who filled wrong prescription. She was quick to say that it is a rare occurrence but did not make sure medication is replaced. They put you on hold forever even after repeated calls. They have violated many regulations... I am very shocked and concerned how unaccountable the manager and the other pharmacist, without genuine regard and by the lack of showing some accountability. You filled a heart medicine for someone with a heart condition and high blood pressure with an anti depressant with a side effect of raising your blood pressure. Today on 01/26/2019, the "relief pharmacist" had not successfully attended to the calls I made. I called the store many times and the clerk said I will let her know. I said okay I will call again and I've said I can use the doctor line to help her distinguish the call... I specified the reason why I am calling. She has not answered any calls. I am very disappointed. We are all busy at work, but we need to be mindful and take a moment to listen to what a patient may need, show gesture that you care by putting me on hold and say you can call me back but this is just unbelievable and should not happen. It really shows lack of care. It suggests someone who can't wait to end their shift to pass along the work to someone else, someone who lacks professionalism. Everyone that works here is incompetent. This actually goes for all CVS' I've been to (2 in Santa Cruz and this one) The carpet is gross and I don't know where anything is anymore. This review is for the minute clinic. The "hold my place in line" feature should NOT be able to make appointments within 1.5 hours of the nurses' lunch time. I put my name down at 12:45 with a quoted 50 min wait. I arrive at 1:30 and wait around only to be told at 1:45 that the nurse needs to take her lunch break and would be back at 3. O.k.... meanwhile it takes her 30 mins to actually pack up and leave so she says she won't be back until 3:15. Smh Edit: Finally got in, 2 hrs after I came. 3 hrs after I initially did hold my place in line. Never again. Downgrade to 1 star. read more

I am not sure if I will ever come back to CVS Pharmacy again. I had such a bad experience because at the checkout the cashier was so rude with me and she charged me double times. And when you get sick, you have to deal with getting a prescription from your doctor 3000 miles away. Such was the case for me last week, and having lived in the area 10 years ago, I gave this CVS pharmacy number to the doctor on call. It is important to note, that when I lived in Burlingame, this location was a Longs Drugs. So when I walked in for my prescription, they actually had found my old information and attached it to the new prescription (pretty impressive, no). All they needed was an updated ID card and insurance card and we were good to go. Unfortunately, this process took 15 minutes. I wandered the store with my niece while we waited and was sorry to see that the store had not been updated in the last 10 years really, even after being bought and turned into a CVS. It took us a minute to find even the cough drops (my niece was sick too). Finally, the prescription was ready and I was able to pay for it and be on my way. They did a nice job overall, but seriously, need to upgrade this store. read more

Ever since the CVS buy-out, not much has changed besides the logo on the bag. It's basically the same store, same employees, same business. The parking is pretty easy here but the lot is sorta dark, even in Burlingame, I still get scared about getting jacked in a dark parking lot at 3am. Which brings me to my next point, it's open 24-hours, so it's a great place to go when you need something and nothing else is open. BUT the store is small, the selection slim, and some items overpriced... but still... I love places that are open 24-hours! Whether it's to get your cough medicine at 3am, or to grab some chips and a chaser after coming from your latest clubbing rendezvous, CVS isn't great, but it will do. read more

Stopped by before heading home to use my ExtraBucks rewards. This CVS is located in a shopping center across of PAMF/Mills Hospital. The parking itself is weird. Filled with a lot of one ways and there was this random street at the far end of the parking lot that only led back into a one way area of the parking lot... The store seemed iffy from the outside and smelled like a convalescent home, old and musky. The arrangement of the store was weird. There was an area near the medicines that sold random things and that area seemed crowded compared to every where else. The makeup aisle was dark in some areas. Check out. There was only 1 person and he was standing at a register with a closed sign up. He was helping another customer who ended up leaving really pissed because he didn't get the help he needed. Cashier than proceeded to look at the next lady (didn't say a thing to her) and looks at me.. Stands there for 5 mins before asking If I was ready ... Which is obvious, it's not like my standing there for no reason. I ended up buying 3 lipsticks and paying only 0.81 (applied my ExtraBucks) and the cashier literally laughed at me? Really was that necessary... I won't be returning and will stick to the Half Moon Bay CVS (closer to me) at least there they are much more organized and friendly than this place. read more

Twice now I came in the middle of the night and a 24hr store is closed with a janky note taped to the front doors. The first time was a half hour, so I understood maybe there was short staff and a break was needed. Last night I go and it was 2am and they put another note reopening at 3:45am. Newsflash! OMG. I do not know why/how it takes 10 minutes to get through a line of 3-4 people, but it never fails to happen at this place. I've been in here two or three times at lunch, and both times it's taken forever to get through the line. I think they need to have one or two more cashiers in there during the lunch hour. I don't want to place the blame on slow cashiers as it always seems as though there's a customer with a complaint or funky return or something weird, but just have some extra help when you know you're gonna be busy...that's all. If you're not in a rush, this is your standard CVS. If you have limited time and are on your lunch break, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

Time & time again I'm impressed with the patience & compassion of the pharmacy staff, from pharmacists to the front line folks at the registers, gracefully handling a non-stop line of customers made cranky by illness or the insurance industry or both. My shopping experience at CVS was routine until it was time to get a money order made the staff was extremely ill equipped and I'm willing to get the manager who was working out in the back loading dock area if a customer is asking you for help your job is to help don't give me nonsense about your bosses on lunch break or he's busy I'm a customer you're here to serve me I'm not here to serve you unfortunately I will be reaching out to corporate around this as well since you guys clearly don't give a damn about your customers or at least certain customers read more

This CVS was like any other location. The parking lot had lots of space since it was shared with other stores in the area so there shouldn't be an issue finding parking. The aisles I walked through were organized and clean. I was able to find exactly what I was looking for with no issues. The employees here were nice and helpful. I'm not sure what else to say about this location. It got the job done and I was satisfied with my visit here. read more

The pharmacist is not very helpful. I asked her for recommendation, she just pointed at a direction and said a drug name. I'm not that familiar with drug so I asked if she could bring me to the place, she just kept saying walk to the end. Maybe I look stupid to her that I can't immediately find a drug on the aisle that holds hundreds of drugs. She wouldn't bother to walk me to the right one. read more

Unfortunately, CVS which I have enjoyed in the past has really messed with me! I am still on hold and it has been 12 minutes and 35 seconds and still on hold. Maybe by the time I finish this yelp review they may answer. I was "asked" if I could be put on hold.....yea right. Earlier today a refill prescription was to be picked up. I had received two calls over the weekend that it was ready. When I went in to the store they said there was no refill despite the two calls to the contrary. WTF! Ok finally an answered call after 15 minutes! As a pharmacist by training myself this was a big disappointment! However, when talking with the pharmacist (no pharmacy technician is on staff at night (another big disappointment) he was overwhelmed with filling other prescriptions. A technician is a vital service provider that CVS has seemed to ignore in the customer service aspects of the Pharmacy operations business. At this juncture I feel sorry for the Pharmacist who is supposed to be focused on the pharmaceutical care of the patient and not the intake process of prescriptions unless there are complicated issues with an Rx. It turns out the Rx was ready, but for some reason they still have my old address from 5 years ago even though I have requested that address to be removed several times. Unfortunately, my father uses this pharmacy for medication he needs immediately. Otherwise we get all our med's thru Optum RX. This is not an issue since CIVID, it's been an issue long before that. Their communication skills with customers is zero. The doctor called in a prescription. He confirmed it went thru. I took Dad out to lunch to give the pharmacy a little extra time. Get there an hour later and they say, "oh, we just got it now". So the clerk tells me they will make this a priority and do it right away, 5 minutes he says. So I wait, and wait. People come in after me for flu shots and the pharmacist leaves to give them. 30 minutes later, she still hadn't returned and now there is a line of 10 people. I left. Come back 24 hrs later, "we are still working on it". What? Then he tells me, "well we didn't have it in stock yesterday". I was standing and waiting right at the counter! Could you have told me that? If you don't mind waiting and no communication, use this pharmacy. Otherwise, take your business elsewhere! The doctor stated that the pills prescribed to my father are to be taken once a day. When I got home, I noticed that CVS put twice a day on the bottle!! I contacted the doctor and he confirmed once a day. Good thing someone is paying attention! This mistake could have been very harmful to my father! read more

Cvs pharmacy they have the worst customer service. so inresponsible with refills first Joyce (Asian) is the worst women in the pharmacy she doesn't look at you when you are asking a question and she is so rude and unprofessional. Refills I walk in and place a refill middle of October they send me a text that it was a special order. November 7th a rude women answer it was Joyce she told me I will have it ready by tomorrow afternoon so I never got a text that it was ready. Today I went in person to the pharmacy November 20th just for her to tell me cvs will not have my refill and I need to transfer it to another pharmacy they never call me to tell me. Extremely poor customer service...ala manager Don Hoxie. We came by today to purchase some items and saw 2 liter bottles of Coke on sale. The signage on the shelf and bulk stacks simply said 99 cents. We had a loyalty coupon to use by the end of day today from CVS but it required a $20 purchase. So we put twenty-one bottles of soda in a cart and went to check out. Marlene (who normally staffs the cosmetic counter) said we could only purchase five. We explained to her that the signage said nothing of the sort. She said the ad only allowed for five. We explained to her that the posting of prices in the store must indicate such limits and the signage did nothing of the sort. She called for the manager and Don Hoxie showed up. We explained the issue and he said the couldn't help us. The discussion went something like this. "We would like to purchase twenty-one bottles of Coke at the posted price" (Don - "The ad says a limit of five") "We didn't come in as a result of an ad. The shelf prices and labels clearly mention a 99 cent price without a limit" (Don - "I can't change what the computer charges" ... oops LIE #1) "Could we please have the phone number of the regional manager" (Don - "I can give you that number" LIE #2 as he gave out the corporate 1-800 service number which is NOT what I asked for. Listen Don...retail is simply. If your signage in store is wrong or incomplete you do what it takes to make the customer happy. Period. It is your fault...not the customers. CVS needs to learn the basics of customer service and retailing. read more

We got a nice big welcome at 2 AM in the morning walked right over to the pharmacy and it was great help the guy working in the pharmacy was quick simple took down my insurance went very smoothly. On the way out it was even better the store worker with the vacuum that was running the vacuum turned it off just as we were walking out so that we wouldn't have to hear The noise of the vacuum and so he could say goodbye to S and have a good night. It was the best cvs experience of my life we need more people like those workers there read more

When we walked into this particular CVS... I immediately wondered, "Why in the **** did I waste my time going to the San Mateo one!?!" This store is HUGE!!!!!!! If you are going to the one in San Mateo and are sick of people breathing down your neck while you wait in line for 10 minutes... I suggest driving the extra couple of miles and go to this location! I went into this store late morning on a Thursday to purchase, among other things, canned tuna advertised on sale at 99 cents and, not the first time this has happened, there were none on the shelf. I scoured the store looking for an employee to ask if there might be some tuna in the back, and from what I could tell, except for the pharmacy, there was only one employee on duty and he was working the cash register. I checked the prices on Johnson& Johnson baby shampoo and some eye drops which I decided not to purchase because there was a long line at the only operating checkout register. I went across the street to Luckys and purchased these items at a cheaper price. read more

Anyone who thinks all chain stores are the same should take a look at the Longs to CVS buyout. Longs stores were generally quite nice, well-stocked, fairly friendly staff, and had some variance from community to community so that each store had a little bit of personality. CVS is just awful. AWFUL! I went in today to buy one over-the-counter medicine that they have a generic version of, and looked for four other things on my shopping list. Three of them they didn't have at all, the fourth they had an acceptable substitute. I also tried to mail a package ... since they had a big sign on the door saying MAIL YOUR PACKAGES HERE. I waited for a long time at the counter that had a big SHIPPING CENTER sign. The woman at the counter stared at me blankly when I told her I wanted to mail a package. "I don't know how to do that! Only Steve knows how to do that! And he's at lunch!" Finally a nicer clerk took over and spent ten minutes trying to figure out how to use the postage machine....besides quoting me a price about double the post office's rate, she never could figure it out. Saved $2 on my generic medicine, wasted about fifteen minutes of my time. Also, the insistence on having your CVS identity card is loathsome. The Walgreens in the adjacent shopping center, while nothing to write home about, makes this place look like Neiman Marcus. read more

i actually really like this drugstore. there is a great selection of items and i like the beauty selection is better than walgreens. one time, there was a buy1 get 2nd 50% off for an item. my mom and i decided to take advantage of it and took two. when it rung up, it charged full price. we asked the cashier and she didnt know so we went back to the aisle and asked a worker there & they said the tags werent ripped off as supposed to; basically the sale was for last week and ended already but they didnt take the tags off. she kindly told us she will give us our money back (which was only a few bucks). good service :) read more
