This review is specifically about the Pharmacy Manager, Adrienne Vu, not the store or the rest of the pharmacy team. Everyone else I dealt with was actually helpful and trying to find a solution, which made this experience even more frustrating. I've had the same prescription from the same doctor since 2018. Today I was told they would no longer fill it because I pay out of pocket and don't have insurance. One pharmacist tried to help and explained that if my doctor adds a note about paying out of pocket, it could still be filled. She was great, and I want to be clear this is not about her, especially since she mentioned her manager doesn't support that approach. They're filling it this time because of the confusion, but when I tried to speak with Adrienne to understand what to do going forward, she sighed and hung up on me mid-conversation. I understand this job is stressful, but so is being a patient trying to figure out how to access your medication. Being spoken to rudely and then hung up on for asking basic questions is not okay. At the very least, there should be clear communication and a basic level of respect. It sounds like I am not the only one who has had an issue with this person. I would perhaps look into a role with less customer facing tasks. read more

They will suddenly not give the prescription you've been getting from them for years because of "new regulation". They'll gaslight you and talk down to you as if you're a drug addict. They'll cause you to have a panic attack in public. The pharmacist will make sure to let you know that you "won't be receiving the discount". Call your psychiatrist and ask them to help demand they fill your prescription and they will. Then find a new pharmacy! read more

One star is generous. They are unreliable if you book a future appointment with them -- which I did. I booked a follow up appointment in person at this branch, yet they were out of stock and did NOT alert me. Yes, but not before driving out there in rush hour traffic only to be told 'sorry'. Who does that? Two days earlier, I got an email from CVS confirming it; who does that? For my previous appointment, I received a check-in text. OK. But also, they called me 30 minutes prior to my appointment ?? to confirm that I was coming in. That seemed a little curious, if not weird. This next time, no check-in text. No confirm call. So, I thought it best to make sure, and to call them before coming in. Brilliant idea, except CVS has now made it impossible to speak live to somebody at this branch. (Perhaps all branches. It's a new voice system) Their new robot phone-tree will not respond when you say (again and again) variations of 'I need to speak to an agent'. Though you are invited to leave a voicemail, there is no option to confirm an appointment by phone. There is not way to reply to the email from two days ago. So, again, who does this? Recapping: they ran out of the vaccine and didn't let me know before I showed up for my appointment. Their phone system refuses to allow a call for their pharmacy. Their email confirmation is worthless. I am now looking at new options for meds and vaccinations. CVS has lost my trust. Note: They officially cancelled the appointment via email after I left the store. They offered me a $4 'we're sorry' coupon. They can keep it and take my CVS Card, too. read more

Listen to these reviews, don't make my mistake of thinking I never have bad experiences. Pharmacist was insane honestly treating me like a criminal drug addict when I'm anything but. Was trying to fill my regular prescription I have had for a decade then she gave a reason of denial do to me not currently having insurance? Like is this some insurance scam? Um what's it to her or would she like to pay for my insurance? I have good driving record as well as no criminal record and great credit so why this second hand treatment... shame on her! Needs a class in people skills, and a good assessment. Never have been treated this way for zero reason. Should have listened to these reviews. Pretty sure discriminating against someone for lack of insurance isn't even fully legal. I get a massage once a week & see chiropractor for decades now plus do herbal, innovative new therapies, yoga etc but I guess for fun according to this chick who thinks she knows my pain medical history so pretty crappy of her. read more

Treja helped me find where I could get that shade in other nearby stores. She is always smiling and helpful. I look for her when I need help. Everyone else is always nice too! read more

I have been shopping at this store for over 20 years, because it's so close to home. All of the store employees (not referring to pharmacy) are absolutely wonderful... except for ONE person (Roshawn) who's been working there for many years. She is absolutely horrible! Her attitude and personality makes the shopping experience a dread! She's unfriendly, unhelpful and outright rude!!! I frequent this store weekly, and have spent lots of money here. Roshawn doesn't smile and seems annoyed when asked for help (just like a few days ago). She seems unhappy and uncaring and frankly seems to hate her job. She's definitely in the wrong line of work.. as she has no customer service skills at all!!! And, unless your skin color is white.. she will ignore you. I'm a friendly person who says Hi to everyone including Roshawn. However, she has never said Hi to me in all these years, not even when she's at the register in close proximity, and not even in a response to my saying Hi to her. Btw, I'm a woman probably around her age, well-dressed, educated and well-mannered. Unless she's willing to smile and speak to customers, maybe she should be kept behind the scenes. This CVS Pharmacy Let My Wife Nearly Die Collapsed in Aisle 7!!! We had a written prescription for an inhaler for pneumonia, but their system wasn't working and they could not get approval. When I told them that she wasn't able to breathe and had collapsed, they ignored me! I tried calling 911, but my phone died. I asked them to call, but was ignored again. Later once their system came back on I got the inhaler, other customers searched the aisles, but she was gone. I found her in the parking lot later barely breathing. She survived thank God! I am considering filing charges against everyone behind that glass Who ignored my suffocating wife on 1/12/25 at 4:30 PM. Came into your store to look for Makeup at 5:30 PM on November 19. A tall white or Hispanic gentleman that works at your store, keeps staring at me in the Makeup section. There was a brand of foundation that were testers because none of them were sealed with the plastic around the top so that you're unable to open it.. I opened one of the colors to look at it and it had been used quite a bit by other people before me. The gentleman keeps circling around me and then ask can he help me and I said no I'm looking at a tester. He says it's not a tester and I tell him it is because it is clearly been used. It was very dried out, and by all means should not have been re-sold. He takes the product out of my hand and puts it back on the shelf.. first of all that's completely rude to take anything out of my hands because I'm the customer. Furthermore, why would you take a product that has already been open and used by many people and Real fit for some innocent person to purchase. He clearly did not care about the next customer that was going to buy it and was being very condescending to me. I will not be back to the CVS. Janelle in pharmacy went above and beyond for me. I should have done this with you sooner so I could have a more accurate recollection of exactly the chain of events all I know is I was very frustrated because my text kept telling me that my medication was available and they couldn't find it and she was so good at calming down and using every avenue and she did eventually track it down and did it with a smile on her face that's good service! And this part is about Dennis. I have seen Dennis throughout the year frequently overworked and understaffed and still serving customers with a smile and being patient and taking things as they come to him without losing his temper getting mad or anything. He is one of the most even keeled and friendly staff members at CVS I've ever encountered. I complimented him today and telling him I come in here a lot and I see you always dealing with a nightmare and you never let it get you down you're always on it even when there's not enough people to help you and there's 20 people in your line, Dennis maintains composure and handles it like a champ! I was doing my normal shopping to get my $10 reward. The system was having issues and asked the cashier "Edgar" to call a supervisor. Instead of calling the supervisor, instead he criticizes me for being a formal employee. I come to discover after that he is a "Manager on Duty". He says you should know this since you use to work at CVS. I showed him a picture of the yellow tag promotion but kept insisting the system would not accept it and he won't do anything about it. Edgar didn't want to bother Helping me and my mother out and she was very upset so I requested a refund. Ah, CVS, a chain where the average rating is somewhere between a 1.5 and 2.5. I can't believe I used to invoke it when making the case against romanticization of mom-and-pop pharmacies. (The case went like this: CVS at least pays its workers robust benefits and has a wage floor, but from a consumer perspective, you can also call up your prescription anywhere in the country without the hassle you'd face if you had to use a mom-and-pop.) That latter benefit is the sole reason why I tolerate CVS's 1970s oil crisis length lines (a sign of "labor squeeze) and constant bungling. This location is definitely in the 1.5/2.5 range: didn't prepare one of my meds, and when they finally did, the pharmacy closed, so I couldn't get the other one and had to waste another day to get it. As a business, a pharmacy isn't a hard one to replicate, and it's only a matter of time before a shrewd start-up breaks the CVS-Walgreens-Riteaid chokehold. read more

a cvs experience is usually the same as the last: employees don't talk to you, you don't talk to them, you see drug store things you need that are a bit overpriced and tell yourself you can find it cheaper somewhere else. and gosh forbid considering giving them a call if you need something. i needed to change pharmacies bc my pcp messed up on something. i gave it a shot bc i saw yelp gave this cvs's direct local number and not a 1-800. i was hopeful. as like anywhere else, the automated machine at first was annoying but after it all, i pressed 1 and it took me to the front desk. the staff who answered was so kind and sent me straight to the pharm. the kind pharm on duty at this time was swamped busy, you could hear it in her voice. after a short conversation, she learned i had been without some medication for an infection for a few days. she collected the necessary info, didn't promise it could be done today (very honest) and did what she needed to do and we got off the phone. she even set up my cvs account for a smooth process when i come in without even me asking -- even tho she was so busy! got a text within a a few minutes saying it'd be ready in the morning. i am here now and the line is long but the staff is going through it seamlessly. they have good attitude and the wait is not long. what a rare experience. thank you cvs venice blvd. i got a text read more

Made a trip to this CVS tonight. I didn't like seeing some items on shelves that were way over priced, specifically disinfectant wipes. I also had a bad interaction with the cashier. I was using the self-checkout kiosk when I requested cash back. A message then popped up on the kiosk screen that said there was an error that required customer service. I told the cashier about the error message and he told me with attitude in a rude tone that the sign above the kiosk says no cash back. He repeated himself several times. I obviously didn't notice the sign and told him the kiosk itself should not allow customers to request cash back if the kiosk can't deposit cash. I plan to frequent other CVS locations and drugstores going forward. read more

Staff does not communicate with each other. Manager Rob was nice enough to keep me informed about an item for over two weeks, left my name and phone number, and was informed to finally pick it up. Set up a date and time for pick up with the manager. When I arrived, they could not find the item. Turns out an employee sold the item to another customer without even asking for a name at pick up. It's disappointing to be in contact with management and cooperate with them only to be let down by poor communication amongst the staff at the end. read more

Sort it out CVS HQ!! This place is filthy and you are making your staff work in really unsanitary conditions. At prescription pick-up the floors and ceilings are rank- there is so much dust on the chains to the signage from the ceiling I thought it was leftover Christmas tinsel, and the air vents are so revolting and caked in black debris. Mold? Could be. Either way you can't have your staff breathing that air all day. Apparently the janitor stopped working there 2 years ago and it hasn't been cleaned since. For a place that is, by definition, supposed to help people with their health do you not see the absurdist irony. I understand wanting to make a profit, but get yourselves together. I'm gonna be quite up front about this... this CVS flat-out SUCKS!!! The shelves are not well stocked, and the checkout line is like waiting at the DMV. At the checkout line, there is only one person (someone of Asian descent) who is actually interested in providing good customer service, although he can often end up with difficult customers. But everyone else? Nope... even when the line gets too long, and the Asian man asks for help up front, nobody is willing to step up. The last time I was at this CVS, on a weekday afternoon, the Asian man was getting overwhelmed again, and the other guy at the counter was real quick to say, "I'm off. I'm done for the day." A few minutes later, a woman came to help out, and was copping a really bad attitude, as if I genuinely infringed upon her right to exist... I was being as courteous as ever, but in addition to the stink eye I was getting, once the receipt printed out, she threw it at me, and gave me another dirty look. I think it's safe to say that I'm done ever coming back to this CVS. And this is the closest one to me, but sometimes, just because someplace is closer doesn't necessarily make it better. I'm giving this CVS two stars, only because of the Asian guy. He was decent, but everyone else should learn how to interact with people better! read more

There's always a line and everyone behind the counter is running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Apparently this location pisses people off: I see lots if 1 star ratings. I didn't get a prescription filled here, I just went to get some OTC items in the pharmacy. They were pleasant and got us in and out. No complaints. I know the regular store often has some decent sized lines at the registers but honestly, it's a small store. When I don't feel like waiting, I bounce or just initially go to the other 2 locations, which are less than a 10 minute drive. Final Word: In terms of lines, most CVS stores have them. Today I went to CVS (5101 Obama Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90016) to take a passport photo. And I encountered two unprofessional and "smart" employees who also turned out to be managers (according to them). A girl named Natali said she would help me in a couple of minutes because she was alone in the store. I waited 20 minutes and then returned to her and she asked me to wait a little longer. After an additional 10 minutes, I saw another worker (named Omar) approach. I reminded myself again and she pointed at me and said something to the second employee. I waited another 10 minutes and saw that Natali had simply disappeared in a magnificent manner. I asked Omar if anyone would help me and he said no because he was the only one in the store. When I asked where the girl had gone, he said that she took lunch. This was already 20 minutes before the store closed. "Great" store with "smart" employees.
