Apparently this location pisses people off: I see lots if 1 star ratings. I didn't get a prescription filled here, I just went to get some OTC items in the pharmacy. They were pleasant and got us in and out. No complaints. I know the regular store often has some decent sized lines at the registers but honestly, it's a small store. When I don't feel like waiting, I bounce or just initially go to the other 2 locations, which are less than a 10 minute drive. Final Word: In terms of lines, most CVS stores have them. They just all seem to suck at line management and efficient checkout. Knowing that, I keep my line expectations low and it makes it easier to deal. read more

Today I went to CVS (5101 Obama Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90016) to take a passport photo. And I encountered two unprofessional and "smart" employees who also turned out to be managers (according to them). A girl named Natali said she would help me in a couple of minutes because she was alone in the store. I waited 20 minutes and then returned to her and she asked me to wait a little longer. After an additional 10 minutes, I saw another worker (named Omar) approach. I reminded myself again and she pointed at me and said something to the second employee. I waited another 10 minutes and saw that Natali had simply disappeared in a magnificent manner. I asked Omar if anyone would help me and he said no because he was the only one in the store. When I asked where the girl had gone, he said that she took lunch. This was already 20 minutes before the store closed. "Great" store with "smart" employees. They know Moneygram closes at 10pm but yet they close out their registers at 9:45pm and then threaten customers with "we're just going to have them remove Moneygram from this location" ??? WHY? Because you're both idiots and are not following your own policies and procedures??! If Moneygram closes at 10pm why the hell do you close out the registers anywhere between 9:30pm and 9:55pm!??? Leanne "the Manager" decided she was going to put my refund on a Moneycard even though I had a receipt now I am unable to get a real refund because she decided to put my refund on a Moneycard instead of instantly refunding me my money directly to my debit card! I'm glad I went back because now I know her name and I can inform corporate that she was the idiot that put my refund on a Moneycard! This CVS pharmacy is the best place to go if you love waiting in long lines for long periods of time. In fact, the lines don't even have to be long, but somehow you'll end up waiting for like two hours in a two person line. If you had a life threatening illness, this would be the absolute worst place to go... you might die before you get your prescription! Until I moved out of LA, I thought all pharmacies were this way. Horrible X 10. I only go to this CVS when I have to and then immediately end up regretting it. Today I had to wait 15 minutes at the register for my rewards coupons to be processed only to be told that they don't know why they just won't. The customer service (including the manager) is bad- habitually unhelpful and apathetic at best. I wouldn't write a review if this was a one time issue but this is literally how it ALWAYS is when I go to this CVS location. They should just tear it down and build a new one elsewhere with new management. read more

Pharmacy techs are rude, do not attend to the phones, they just answer and put you on hold. I am reporting to corporate because this isn't the first time, nor the first CVS pharmacy to do this. We all have crappy jobs where people are nagging, but we all cannot treat people the way they treat their customers. It's a hit and miss when you get a good tech, or if they are in a good mood. This CVS is 24 Hours, 'tho it's in a sort of sketchy part of Venice Blvd where there's a few transients who pan handle in the area, it's an okay location. Right now, on 12/30/14 they have a 90% off sale discount for all Christmas items. Whereas, the other CVS stores I've been to today only offer 50% off. read more

By far the worst customer service I have even been given. I came in and wanted a few things and I was told some rude comments and even followed around by some female staff members. She told me that I was taking a long time to buy things? Like I was barely in the the store for 15 minutes. I will definitely never return to this location and I will never tell anyone to come here. I honestly have no idea why I still shop at this CVS. It's just they have all my prescriptions there and it's the closest one to my house. Their customer service is terrible. They always tell me they have my photos and they never have my photos. So I have to prove to them that they called me and emailed me to say that they had my photos every time. My husband and I live around the corner and have been shopping here for over three years. Not anymore. My spouse was bit by a dog on Venice, he had our dog with us, and he stood in the parking lot while some kind people removed the latched dog from his hand. He was bleeding profusely, one of those nice people explained the situation and asked the staff for a band aid. They said no, you gotta buy them. Fair enough, the guy bought some gauze to stem the bleeding. A security guard then came up and demanded they 'leave the parking lot, since they were causing a scene.' They were at the edge of the parking lot, away from the entrance. He said the manager wanted them off the property. Really CVS? You're a 'healthcare' provider, or so you claim. No offers to call a squad or any sort of aid. Instead you demanded my bleeding husband to get off your property, because it wasn't your problem. Nice. I hope no one ever has a serious accident or illness at your location because you don't seem to have any human decency. Apparently the manager was Ryan P? I picked up my husbands antibiotics there. The last purchase I'll ever make and got the managers name and corporates number. What an absolute gem of a human being. I'll never shop at this location again. read more

I've shopped at this CVS for more than 10 years, and I'm never going back. I had an emergency appendectomy, and was perscribed percoset, and a stool softener. Having never taken either in my life, my boyfriend and I left the hospital with my discharge papers, and prescriptions in hand. For once, there was no line. I went to the drop off window, and was greeted by a young Asian guy, who, when I have him my prescription, immediately gave me the side-eye, and said he's have to check with the senior pharmacist. I watched him walk back and forth between the pharmacy aisles behind the counter, then he came back and said he couldn't fill it. I asked him why, and he said it was a "controlled substance". I asked him about the other one, and he repeated the same answer. Since when is a stool softener a controlled substance? I showed him my insurance card, and my discharge papers, which backed up the prescriptions. He refused to look at them, and then went to help another customer. I bought the other items we had, and then walked to the front of the store. I asked a cashier if I could speak to a manager, who was right there. I explained what happened, and she just shrugged her shoulders, and said, "Sorry about that." I handed her my discharge papers, and showed her my medical bracelets with that day's date, and she gave them back to me and said nothing. I told her she lost my business, and she said nothing. My boyfriend and I then went to the CBS on LaCienega, and after showing them my prescription and discharge papers, we were able to get my order filled with a 10 minute wait time. No muss, no fuss. So strange how two pharmacies under the same chain could be so opposite in customer service. read more

The pharmacy claims to be 24hrs but closed at 6, needed a script that my doctor called in & I was told by the pharmacy staff to just calling other pharmacies to get it transferred because that's my job. Worst employee of the year award goes to the rude, unhelpful and crabby Jenny! This young woman with black hair and glasses shouldn't be allowed to work with humans, let alone represent CVS. She humiliated me when asking about a passport photo. Thirty minutes late she got around to taking the photo only to find that she didn't know how to take a photo. She tried to make me pay for a photo that didn't meet any of the passport photo qualities at all- wrong size, has shadows, wasn't facing the camera. I wasn't crazy about CVS in general, now we're breaking up completely. read more

My medication is never ready for pick up. The automated system indicates that it is ready but when I go to the CVS pharmacy on Venice they don't have it. Month after month I miss several days of my medication because of their incompetence and dishonesty. I am sure the pharmacy employees steal the meds and sell them on the black market like drug dealers while patients suffer. Pathetic. read more

Well I ordered a custom calendar for my dad's bday and the online information was wrong. This location couldn't handle the print job but what I found amazing was the courtesy of the photo cashier. He called ahead to manage my expectations before arrival. Although I truly couldn't do much with the product as is he allowed me to take he printed pages at no charge. I really appreciated that. He was very thoughtful and did what he could. I'll be back for other needs. read more

Customer service here is pretty bad. The employees don't look happy at all to be there. There have been multiple times where I have put my prescriptions in only to get to the store and not have them having any record of the my refill order - sometimes it was even their automated system that called me for the refill!! The staff and pharmacists at this CVS store are unfailingly helpful, courteous and friendly. Often while waiting to pick up my medications I hear the staff politely helping cranky, confused, irascible and self centered elderly people. I have not noticed any dirty conditions cited by other reviewers. People who leave bad and false reviews because they weren't waited on immediately or think that they are more important than other customers should reflect on their selfish behavior. This is a good pharmacy with nice employees and I commend them for working through the pandemic. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the most inept pharmacy I've ever been to. Without fail, always at minimum 4 people in line, a pharm tech cashier who couldn't possibly move slower if she tried, and a new pharmacist-manager who can't keep her calm and shrieks while running around filling prescriptions, scaring her team. I wish CVS would do something about this place. It is consistently bad and just seems to get worse and worse each time I come here. The only thing you can count on is long lines, staff who don't know or care what there're doing, and dumbfounded confused looks whenever you ask a question. read more

Why one star? Well this review is not for the pharmacy, this is for the photo developing. I'd just gotten back from a great day trip up in sequoia national park and had taken a roll of amazing pictures with my camera. I had a huge error in judgement and decided to save a few bucks and skip a trip to samy's, berryflash, or freestyle and dropped my film off here. How bad can you mess up a roll of film you say? Well if I really thought hard I could only think of a few ways to destroy film worse then what they did. They processed it in their instant processor however their instant processor was not working right. That day it was diluting the developing chemicals with water and thus not fully developing the film. They knew the problem existed yet chose to run my film and others film anyway without telling us. I know this because I pointed out how crappy their developing was and they outright admitted to me they knew the machine wasn't working right! So what do you end up with when you don't fully develop film? You end up with negatives that have almost no images on them... Their incompetent didn't stop there, they decided my roll of Kodak Ektar Professional color film was black and white...?!?!? I have no idea why, and they proofed out the barely useable color negatives onto black and white proofs! I would have been better off shipping them to india and crossing my fingers. NEVER EVER EVER take your film here to get processed. They did refund the full price after trying to charge me 12 dollars for developing however the film they ruined cost 6 dollars. So at first I was very upset at my ordeal but now checking the other reviews I should not have been surprised. The Manager(Wednesday at 2:30) Retail for 20 years and National Sales Manager Now and have never witnessed such poor customer service. Walked in to get some Passport Photo's and stood where the sign told me to come for photo help. After 5 min The clerk tells me I need to get on the main line(By now 8 people had gotten on in front of me. I get in the line as the Manager comes out of the back finally my turn and the Manager turns rudely and says "we are not doing passport photo's we are short staffed" You Website and Signage says passport photo's in minute's. So I stood in this store for 20 min to be turned away for no real reason...I am never shopping at CVS again. My fiancee and I only Used CVS for our needs and no longer. An ok CVS. It is huge. I have always found what I want. It seems run-down, though. Parking is ok, since there is enough in its little corner of the complex. Tragically bad pharmacy. Five pharmacists (5!) on duty, waited an hour in a line with only four (4!) people ahead of me for a prescription that was filled. Filled! (Seriously it was sitting on a shelf five feet away from me for an hour). How is this even possible? After 45 minutes in line, I ask if one of the four remaining people working there could, y'know, maybe work the second till instead of ignoring the line of people who have been standing there politely for a crazy long time, the people in line vocally agree. Rude pharmacists ignore us until they can't any longer. Finally, a lady with the attitude of a petulant pre-teen being forced to clean her room drags her feet over to the till. She finds my prescription, rings it up, and tells me with a smirk that they need to run my insurance, as if she were meting out a punishment rather than following a routine process. Nice. Another 15 minutes to go. They finish my paperwork pretty quickly and send me to the slow till. I haven't yet mentioned the slow till. Slow till, which was the only till until we nearly armed ourselves with torches and pitchforks, is slooooooow. The lady working slow till moves like she's moving through Jello. In her defense, I legitimately do not think she can move any faster than she does. Which means: Don't abandon her at the till when she clearly needs help! Help her! Instead, her co-workers were passive-aggressively abusive to her. Depressing. I've never had such a gamut of emotions at a pharmacy before. Left in a ferocious maelstrom of rage/empathy/disgust/exhaustion, like when you reach the end of a Greek tragedy and everyone is dead and there's no one to blame and that one guy married his mom. DON'T bring your RX here. Just DON'T. They are the most unprofessional pharmacy I've ever gone to. Don't have common RX in stock & say they're gonna order it. Then day after day still don't have it. Finally they say "the supplier can't get it at all". The RX couldn't be transferred cause it already was transferred there & couldn't be again. That's happened twice!!!! Plus they aren't even nice, and work as slow as molasses. NO kidding, the WORST RX I've ever used and never will again. Save yourself grief and don't use them. read more

After I posted my last negative review of this affront to customer service, I contacted CVS HQ and provided them with a detailed description of the shortcomings of the pharmacy here. The principal fault here is simply that the pharmacy is chronically short staffed. Store management acknowledged this shortcoming and explained to me that the regional manager insisted on cutting back on the staff. I was pleasantly surprised when a pleasant CVS corporate representative called me to discuss the issue. I was further pleasantly surprised to learn from the store staff that senior management came in to review the matter. Alas, salvation was not achieved. A routine pick up of meds was met with a long line, a lone indifferent clerk and 45 minutes of my life I will never get back. Well, then, say I, let's meet the continued short staffing with short patronage. Stay away. Unless you are the kind of person who enjoys root canals, colonoscopies and the other painful frustrations that we sometimes need to suffer. The sign outside says 24hr pharmacy, it's not . The time on yelp is correct but doctors and clinics are saying this is 24 hrs so I came bc I'm local and they have changed they're time. They need to remove that sign outside for false advertising . Went to this CVS last night to have three scrips filled. Agonizingly long wait just to drop off the paper prescription - over 20 minutes. The real problem was that, while I was waiting, I was four feet away from the pharmacy technician (not the pharmacist) and watched him for the entire time filling prescriptions, pouring tablets and capsules into the hopper that counts automatically. The entire time, he filtered all those pills THROUGH HIS BARE FINGERS. Yes, his bare fingers. When I finally picked up my antibiotic, I had them re-fill it before I would accept it. I asked if that was standard protocol and the other technician said "no, no , no" But the other guy was still using his bare hands. The pharmacist then tried to "shush" me so other customers wouldn't hear what I was saying. And, btw, the other customers DID hear me and insisted their orders were re-done as well. On top of that, I was told that one of my scrips would take an entire hour to be filled. The pharmacist told me that it was because she had to count that herself. Then, as I was about to pick up the other two and come back later she told me the third was almost done. Why didn't it take the hour she originally told me? Oh, it was because a single person left without getting the flu shot that was supposed to be administered. So, she was basically telling me that a single 30 second flu shot was putting her an hour behind. Stay away from this completely incompetent pharmacy. The google site says 24 hours so when I needed an emergency antibiotic prescription I selected this location when at urgent care. I arrived at 9:30 pm to pick it up but the pharmacy was closed. The cashier up front said the store is 24 hrs but the pharmacy closes early. (Shame you can get beer at 9, but not a prescription, but that's not the point.) the cashier kindly told me to drive to another location that had a 24-hr pharmacy where they could simply transfer the order and fill it. When I arrived however, the guy at the pharmacy told me that was not true, unless I paid out of pocket and got a new prescription (urgent care was closed by then anyway). This is very frustrating to say the least. I called the pharmacy this morning and they disconnected the line without answering after 5 minutes. I don't get it. read more
