I chose this one solely because it is a shorter walking distance from my house. I thought, CVS is CVS, doesn't matter. I was wrong. Two weeks ago I contacted this pharmacy and gave them the information they needed to have my medications transferred. They confirmed with me the same day that they did that. My old pharmacy sends the prescriptions on February 24. I contact this CVS on 3/4 and 3/5 and four different people tell me they don't have my medications. I call my old pharmacy again, and the CVS by the Ralph's. My old pharmacy confirms that the medications were sent on February 24th. The CVS by the Ralph's confirms that this CVS at 8601 S. Sepulveda has these prescriptions. I call them right back with this information. They *still* say they don't have them! It's unbelievable. I gave them plenty of time to get my prescriptions ready. It is baffling that another CVS can see, that, YES, they have it. I'm not trying to get a new pair of high heels here, I'm trying to get my medications. This pharmacy is the worst retail establishment I've ever been to, ever. It is beyond me how any retailer can have terrible communication to the point of dis-function and still be around. Avoid. EDIT: That's what happened in the beginning of the year. For some reason I decided to give them another chance a few weeks ago, figuring, hey, that was kind of a convoluted situation anyway, I'm just handing in a simple prescription, it should be okay. Long story short: Was told that they covered my prescription, gave them my prescription along with my application for their prescription coverage, told to call in two hours, I left a message, they never returned my call, got a call a few days later that my prescription was ready, went to pick it up and not only did no one have a clue about my application I was told my prescription wasn't covered anyway and had no choice but to pay full price. This pharmacy's incompetence is beyond comprehension. Try the other CVS down the street or better yet, Walgreens. read more

Don't expect competence or courtesy if you make the mistake of using this pharmacy. First, an employee told my wife she did not exist (in their system), then Brian N. verified that she did in fact exist but only one of the two blood pressure medications her doctor called in (confirmed via email) existed (Brian claimed that only one medication had been called in). Mistakes happen, but Brian N. decided to be abrupt, discourteous, and dismissive rather than helpful. Make absolutely certain you do not trust this location with medicines that are life-threatening if not taken. Note: Was not allowed to give the location zero stars. Update: My wife received her prescription today, upon review of the paperwork, the prescription was indeed called in and in their system on the day that Brian N. claimed it was not. read more

Hard to review CVS...I mean...it's CVS. It meets standard CVS expectations. I mostly go here for the pharmacy which is hit or miss in terms of being busy. The pharmD and pharm techs seem overworked as is expected, but they are doing their best to get everything done in a timely fashion. That being said they are all very nice and helpful. Other than that, it meets my needs for occasional items I need in a pinch. I do love the self check out stations which I don't see at all locations. Not sure why I have a CVS "rewards card" though...I have never actually gotten anything out of it. Hah. Oh well. read more

The good thing is that this place is open all day. 24hrs.. So if you a need for some beer, swing by CVS pharmacy.. lol.. They have everything u might need. We stopped by at 2am and bought some heat therapy patches for my gf. Great price, the staff was nice as well. read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE PHARMACY ONLY i really wanted to like this pharmacy. Nonetheless, I had problems literally every time I went here. Four times in a row, so I now go to the one down the street, next to Ralph's. The non-pharmacy part of the store is acceptable, thus the two stars. The pharmacy is horrible and deserves one star. If you don't believe me, check out this pharmacy and you will be sorry. To add insult to injury, the parking is very tight due to the location at a major intersection plus sharing a lot with Home Goods, Ross, Hometown Buffet, Panara's, and Trader Joe's. read more

Be aware that there are two CVS locations within two blocks in Westchester. This one, on the corner of Manchester and Sepulveda, is only open until 10pm. If you're looking for the 24 hour one, it's at 8900 Sepulveda between La Tijera and Westchester Parkway. I'm not a fan of this location, but I end up using it because it's right next to the bus stop. There are always panhandlers outside. Inside, there are always long lines and there never seem to be enough cashiers to handle them. And there have been a few times I've wanted to use the self-checkout and they've tried to farm me into the long line for a cashier. Boo! They frequently have those self-checkout kiosks closed, even when it's crowded and people really could benefit from using them. I pulled several prescriptions from this CVS because of their constant robo-calls...at one point they were calling me two or three times a day to bug me to refill prescriptions, and when I tried to opt out of their calling system they gave me grief over it. As a grand finale, when I gave up and transferred my scrips elsewhere, CVS took four full days to do the transfer. My new pharmacy had to keep calling them. No bueno. Lesson learned, though; I'll never bring another prescription here if I can help it. read more

Shocking! Did you notice how the pharmacist prepares your pills? Is she wearing gloves and a mask while touching your pills? Nope! Bare hands touch your pills after used keyboard, used scanner and touched other patients' prescriptioos...... How did they get trained? I'm speechless. read more

I have used CVS (formerly Savon's) most of my life. At this point, however, I will moving the majority of my business to a fabulous compounding pharmacy in Santa Clarita. Let me explain why. I have a particular pain medication I use. It is filled every two or so months. I called FIVE weeks ago to have it filled, only to be told the medication was on "backorder." After a few follow up calls to the pharmacy (note no one contacted me) I was once again told it was on backorder. Five weeks later I get a message from some rude pharmacist informing me that the medication is still on backorder, she will be canceling my prescription and to have the doctor switch medications and give them a call. Um - no thank you. I called the compounding pharmacy who had the medication in one day and mailed to my home. Shame on you CVS. And this is after years of multiple lost prescriptions, no call backs, and extremely long waits. Enough CVS. I obviously will and already have taken my business elsewhere. As for the store portion of CVS, I will be avoiding it like the plague as well. My husband had purchased the wrong item and paid for it on his credit card. I went to return the item WITH the receipt, only to be told they could not credit the return to his account (in what century are we living CVS?) without the card, nor could they give me the cash, which I didn't really want anyway. They offered me a gift card to which I promptly turned down and left the store. My husband, who works until 7:30 at night, now has to use his spare time to make this ridiculous return which CVS should be able to do sans the card. Again, shame on you CVS. Get your act together and your technology up to date. Needless to say, I will be avoiding both the pharmacy and the store. Hopefully if I need a CVS the one down the street will be better. read more

Looking to transfer a prescription to cvs. On hold for 38 minutes. The absolute worst service ever. Does CVS care? Obviously not!! Put some additional staff on so you can get more than 2 yelp stars. HELP!!! I finally spoke to Ester the pharmacist who stated I cannot transfer a new Rx from another pharmacy as I need the Rx bottle. Without the bottle it cannot be done......so I went to Costco and they were very happy to accommodate me. This place is so bad I feel sorry for people that live near here read more

I hate this CVS. Parking is annoying and the line is always LONG!!!! -- even if you are next. When I go to this one I know I will need at least 15-20 minutes for a "quick" trip. There is a bigger one down the street next to Ralph's. read more

I only come to CVS for two things: Greeting cards and prescriptions. The service is slow and usually takes forever to check out. I try not to make it a habit so I try to combine my visits as much as possible. I must say that they keep it clean and organized which I can respect. read more

Lololol I've been going to this cvs for almost a year, and never once have they had any of my three prescriptions in stock. Granted, these three are all controlled substances that have high rates of abuse, so I assumed it was a matter of paperwork or procedures or something- nope. This time, in need of my medications before leaving town for vacation, was no different. The one down the street is even worse, and when I called into the marina del rey location, the technician was totally unhelpful. I decided to go out on a wing and check the small Ralph's pharmacy nearby, and what response did I get? "I can have that ready in ten minutes." Now, instead of having to wait 3 days here in town and delay my trip, I can head out on schedule, with my medications, and able to relax and enjoy my vacation instead of suffering due to poor pharmacy management. As someone who was raised as and has been a loyal, lifelong cvs customer (not from around here), this is hands down the second worst cvs I've experienced (second only to the one a block over from it), and would advise anyone who relies on having their medicine when they need it against wasting your time here. Seriously, the staff isn't even hospitable. Admittedly, it's obvious how accustomed they all are to telling people they don't have their medication in stock. read more

Huge CVS (much like any other) and close to lots and lots of other shopping stores. The last time I came in the front end looked pretty filthy though..luckily I was only in for 3 items and then straight out the door. The big bonus about this location is that they have self checkouts; i LOVE that because I can REALLY get in and out! They typically have very FEW cashiers working up front which makes regular checkout a pain & I've noticed that they were out of stock on some baby items that I would normally purchase. Every single visit has been an unpleasant one. This particular time I couldn't purchase my items because of their chip readers. Why open? Why not have plan B for debit cards like Manual Entry? The self service option is a joke. A customer had been stuck trying to purchase his items and had to solicit the help of passers-by. I had to flag someone myself initially. They were all "busy", avoiding eye contact, stocking shelves for future incomplete transactions. I'm over this location. read more

I was on hold to speak to someone in the pharmacy for 18 minutes! When someone finally picked up they couldn't hear me and they hung up. I called back and when I asked not to be put on hold again, the woman suggested I leave a voice mail. After all that. Never have I waited that long just to call in a prescription. Went to make photo holiday cards, waited for it and it came out all fuzzy and messed up. Store associate just gives it to me and walks away. When I asked what happened to my card, each person looks at it and gives me no answer. Finally one person tells me they don't know why it came out like that and they are sorry. If you have any other options, please, go there. ~ Don't bother calling in scrips to the automated service: those orders are not filled. ~ Expect long lines and a staff that is often confused and argumentative. ~ Expect often negative opinions about your doctor(s). ~ Expect to hear the hold music repeat If you have to use this place, always always always bring every shred of information with you (scrip name, Doctor name and address and phone/fax numbers), it will be needed to replace lost or unfilled orders. read more

The pharmacy is a complete disaster. I have been going to this CVS for a full year now and am always very frustrated with how incompetent the pharmacy is, the language barrier, and the fact there are always long lines. Anyways, the next pharmacy is anotehr 10 - 15 minute drive but after what happened to me recently I am DONE with this place. I had just received a very painful knee surgery and the doctor had given me 3 prescriptions that needed to be filled. Well being post op...literally had just crutched out of the operating room, my leg all bandaged up, the pharmacy said the surgery center needs to call to release these meds....are you kidding me?!? So after bouncing back and forth on the phone between my doctors office and the surgery center...the 3 time my doctor called and got very stern they finally released the prescription. This took a total of 2 hours and I was in some serious pain not to mention exhausted. Most people are functioning as single human being trying to make an effort to take care of themselves. This place is not worth it! I can't believe they stay open. Even (2) of my doctors said CVS worldwide is a problem with incompetent people. Go to Walgreens! Wow, so much better. read more

Go somewhere else. Pharmacies are all the same, but I've been waiting here over an hour for a scrip for antibiotics. When I first arrived they couldn't find my scrip. Then asked me to wait in another line for twenty five minutes to update my insurance. Then I had to wait another half hour to find out that they still cannot find my scrip in the computer. Where to begin... walked in to grab a water and use the restroom around 830am. Was told that I'd have to go to the back but ring the button first and an associate would let me in. Its early, I'm just about the only one in the store, no problem. I walk to the back, and ring the button and wait roughly 5 minutes. I hear a associate standing around the corner. I ring it again, 2 seconds later she opens it. Scowling at me and says nothing. The bathroom is disgusting. No soap in the soap dispenser and no paper in the paper towel dispenser. I'm surprised water came out of the sink. I love art but not a fan of graffiti, especially so much that I cant see myself in the mirror. Trash was overflowing. The greeter was mediocre, everything else was terrible, especially rude associate #2. ATTITUDE REFLECTS LEADERSHIP, and the leadership hear is lacking. read more

This is perhaps the worst run pharmacy I have ever encountered. I left a prescription this morning at 9:30, was told it would cost $3.35 & be ready in an hour. I couldn't wait, so told the pharmacist I would be back this evening after work. I returned around 6:30, waited in the 'Pick Up' line for 15 mins to be told that the prescription had not been filled, but they would do so now. Then was told they did not have enough pills in the dose ordered so I would need to come back tomorrow. ( this is not an unusual medication I might add). I cannot return tomorrow & need the medication for my son. They then offered to fill the prescription with a lower dose of the medication , which was fine & he would just take 2 pills instead go one. When they finally got the prescription filled -- 30 minutes after I had arrived -- they said it would be $10 (3 times the original cost). When I pointed this out they offered me a $10 gift card. I took the prescription back, & no gift card or any number of coupons will ever get me back in a CVS. read more

My husband and I have been going to this CVS pharmacy and others in the area for more than 10 years. We have been disappointed by the prescription service in all the CVS pharmacies in the Westchester area but the one at 8601 S. Sepulveda is the worst. The automatic renewal phone service never works. Even when it says the prescription is ready or will be ready after a certain time it never is. There is never any apology or explanation why I have to wait 15-20 minutes when I was told over the phone the prescription would be ready at noon and I'm there at 1:10pm to pick it up. The automatic phone refill service has confirmed that a refill will be ready at a certain time but when I get there I'm told that the prescription is not due for a refill for a day or so. Management must tell the cashiers "Take on an attitude if you are questioned about any delay or failure to comply." My husband and I have a running joke about what the frustrating problem will be every time we need a prescription filled or refilled there. Well, the joke will no longer be on us because I'm transferring our prescriptions to Walgreen. read more
