The one star is for the pharmacy assistant who tried to help me. The cashier is worthless, he told me someone would be with me in a few minutes. 15 minutes later he finally called for the manager, who told me that the item I was looking for was in a tote and they didn't have anyone to look through the tote. I don't know why I continue to come to this location. It's extremely disappointing that we cannot support some local businesses in our community and get the service that we deserve. read more

I'm really shocked at the negative reviews. My family have been going to this CVS (pharmacy and buying items) and never have we encountered someone rude. There were times in the past when they were slow, due to long lines but never rude. Recently, since the virus, lines are short and when I asked a question, everyone is customer service friendly. Maybe they mirror me, because when I shop I try to have a positive experience so I smile when I walk in allowing the workers to know that I'm approachable. Since I live in the very nice suburban View Park area immediately North of this store it would be wonderful if I could fill my prescriptions here but alas the pharmacists and their helpers provide horrible service. They advertised that a prescription could be filled in a half hour on the sign in front of the store. I dropped off my prescription, told them I will go have lunch and come back; then 45 minutes later they did not have the prescription filled. The next time I went there they told me they didn't have the drug I needed and it would be three days before they could get it. Yesterday I went in and the clerk took the prescription, asked me for my birthday, (she was asking everybody for their birthday maybe to practice her English) then without a word disappeared with my prescription into the drugstore shelves. After four or five minutes she came back, handed me my prescription and said they don't have it. I stood there waiting expecting GeoGee (the clerk) to give me more information or ask me if I wanted to order it. My wife walked up and asked the pharmacist and she said they do not have the forms for that drug. My wife asked if they can get the forms and when they will have them. The pharmacist said it will be two weeks before she has the forms. I guess they have a hard time getting good employees at this store. Is it the Uzis? See LATimes article below. Shortly before the store's closing time at 11 p.m., three men wearing dark clothing, gloves and ski masks and armed with semi-automatic weapons entered the store on the 5000 block of Slauson Avenue, according to a statement from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department. The men ordered store employees to the ground and tied them up, then took an unspecified amount of money from a cash register and a safe before fleeing, authorities said. The store is in a fairly new building that is adobe style which clashes horribly with the googie style architecture of the surrounding area. There is trash out front of the store at the bus stop. It is pretty obvious this is not a flagship CVS store. I did feel safe there at 5pm last night due to the two sheriffs cruisers on Slauson in front of the entrance. The store is always dirty, the pharmacy needs improvements and the shelves are rarely stocked. Is there any way that we can complain about our CVS so that improvements are made? I am comfused when every thing in the neighborhood is working to be better and this Cvs, a big chain store would not have more pride in how it looks. It looks like it's abandon no one is watching the employees or maybe this store is closing. You walk in and it has no merchandise on its shelves. It's not clean. Dropped by for a passport photo and it took about 20 minutes to get anybody over to help me at the photo counter. Once someone was finally there, it was quick & easy, though steeply priced ($14). I wouldn't recommend it. The only good thing was the cashier and the security guy who were trying their darndest to get someone to help me. Martha the photo girl never responded to the multiple pages and only sauntered out once the security guy tracked her down in the back of the store. read more

This is the most ridiculously placed cvs that I've ever been to. You can park then walk up a hill on Slauson Ave to enter or drive up a very narrow winding ramp only to have to take an elevator or stairs (both smell of urine) back down to the store. Unfortunately both my parents prescriptions are sent here so I'm a regular :(. The pharmacists are nice though. read more

I like coming here when I need something quickly. I'm so close I usually walk over when ever I need snacks, the closest market is not as far but a drive. Good place to go when you don't feel driving. read more

Worst customer service ever. Brittany was the cashier who rang up my purchase. Her and another girl with big blue braids were cashiering . They managed to greet the few people in the store. When it was my turn to be helped Brittany had me wait while she had a full conversation with the security guard on site that was not a work related conversation. When she called me to the counter she did not say hello or anything. She was rude. When I explained to her that she should treat all customers the same and not pick and choose who to say hello to she said she did not know what I was talking about. She did not apologize. She stepped out from behind the register and she and the other employee argued with me. This action lead me to the point to believe that she was only trying to escalate the situation. Slow slow slow. It took 45 minutes to get through to the pharmacy on the phone to confirm my medication was ready. Took another 45 minutes once I got to the front of the line, and then the pharmacist wasn't available to answer my questions about the new prescription. read more

My review is not about the service at this CVS, everyone I have ever interacted with at this location is very helpful. My review is about the CVS policy of not letting customers know they need to have a photo ID with them to pick up certain prescriptions. They leave a message on your voicemail that your prescription is ready, seems they could also let you know, before you walk all the way up to the pharmacy, that you will be required to present your ID. I didn't know I needed it and although it is just a 5 block walk to get over there to get it, they shouldn't assume you would know to bring an ID . I was informed that it is a new policy. I fully understand the policy, but I think someone would have considered the face that it might be a good idea to alert customers to the fact they will need to bring a photo ID with them in order to pick up the prescription. read more

Where to start. First I want to say that Geogee and pharmacist Madeleine Umeh are always extremely helpful. They are the only reason I continue to go to this Pharmacy. CVS is a short 3 blocks from my house. I went there today to pickup my scheduled, through ScriptSync, prescriptions. A little over 2 years ago I was called by CVS sales offices encouraging me to sign up for ScriptSync. I was told ScrptSync would relieve me of having to worry about renewing prescriptions and getting doctors approvals when they are in need of a refill authorization. I was told the ScriptSync process would handle contacting the doctor when a renewal was required. The only requirement asked of me was to stay current with my doctor visits. I would be called when the prescriptions were ready for pickup. It also offered the added convenience of only having to go to the pharmacy once a month, as all prescriptions would be available at the same time. Yeah, that rarely happened. Geogee and pharmacist Madeleine always made sure things were made right for me. And then I walked in today. Pharmacist Madeleine is on vacation. In her place is a pharmacist by the name of Esther Shin. By far the rudest, condescending, arrogant, snide, and anger provoking professional I have had the displeasure to come across. I informed her I was getting in touch with corporate office to file a formal complaint against her. I asked for her full name and she refused to give it to me. Esther told me how polite, courteous, and helpful she had been to me so there would be no need for me to make a complaint. Esther finally gave me her first name and told me her last name was not necessary. I told her it was necessary and I would like to have it and she refused. Turns out in a way, although not the way she planned, it's true, it wasn't necessary for her to give it to me. I found it in microscopic print on my prescription bottle. I fully intend on filing a formal complaint, in writing, directly to corporate offices. My health insurance has been nagging me for years to use automatic mail to me prescription refills. I haven't done it because I want to support my local stores and pharmacy. This very well may have been the last straw but I don't think that would be fair to Madeleine and Geogee and all the hard work they put into providing good customer service. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because ScriptSync leaves much to be desired. Something is very off about the process. read more

It's conveniently near my house and the cashiers are amazing. Wish it were 24 hours but a girl can't have it all... I know it the stairwell smells like pee and the elevator is slow and its near a Metro stop but once safely inside its a decent CVS. They have what you need and that is all the matters. read more
