They send the text updates when prescriptions are ready, which helps a lot in keeping things organized. I've picked up multiple prescriptions here and grabbed gift cards for the house in the same visit, and the staff has been generally helpful and efficient. At busy times there can be a bit of a wait, but that's understandable for a neighborhood CVS. Overall, a reliable spot for prescriptions and quick errands. i've been going to the CVS for years and I have never used the bathroom. Today I went at about 8:00 AM to the restroom and it was dirty. I was thrown back because the store just opened and the bathroom was filthy. I told the guy at the register that the bathroom was dirty and he asked me how so. Now the last time I checked, I didn't work for CVS and I'm not the bathroom inspector. If a customer tells you the bathroom is dirty all you need to say is OK and go check it out and thank you for letting me know. I'm sorry about that. I got none of that so I had to sit there and specifically tell him what was dirty about the bathroom. I was very shocked because this CVS is always clean. Customer service is always great. Probably THEE slowest pharmacy west of Crenshaw. I'm not sure if it's a case of being understaffed, but in the last 2 years I can count on 1 hand the amount of times I've gotten a prescription in under 20 minutes even when my meds are ready. There's ALWAYS a line and the pharmacists are slower than slow and also look like they don't really want to be there. There is 0 urgency in their movement. The ONLY reason I continue to come here is because I don't want to make multiple trips since I go to the Ralph's in the same shopping center - but avoid if you can and don't come here unless you have nothing to do for the next HOUR. Also! Lately they have had this "warning - time delay. Pharmacy safes in use." This is a load of crap. Just trying to give an excuse for their slowness. All meds that have been called in are in the basket behind the register so why is that sign even there?!?! Hate this place so much. read more

When confronted their reply is that's what time we close now at 10:30 pm even though the hours posted outside clearly states open until 11:00 pm. DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS FROM THIS LOCATION. I live in the area and frequent this store often including for the purchase of GIFT CARDS. On May 11th I purchased 2 gift cards (Macys and Amazon) as a Mother's Day Gift for my mother. She tried to use the Macy's Card today and was told by Macy's the card has already been used on May 14th and was tampered with due to the excessive glue covering the pin. I retrieved the card from my mother and went back to CVS with the receipt. I spoke to the Manager named Kaitlyn who seemed helpful at first, but then she basically tells me the store is not at fault. She then goes on to tell me I should have kept the packaging of the Gift Card so she could have scanned it. WHO DOES THAT???? NOBODY!! Then she tells me, "It's been all on the news" and I should have known to keep the packaging "because that's what she needs to do refund". Yes, the Manager Kaitlyn of CVS (Ladera Center) told me that. How is this now my fault?? Once I told her words and tone were condescending and that words matter, she basically said I took it that way and did not apologize. More words were exchanged, and I told her I would file a complaint and she said, "everyone does". CVS WHY IS THIS OK and why does this manager feel as if it ok to speak to customers any kind of way without repercussions? The customer is not always right, but I was not wrong, was very calm and patient until she insulted my intelligence. I would never want any terminated, but Kaitlyn needs immediate retraining. Also, since CVS gets a 10-20% profit from selling gift cards more needs to do more to prevent fraudulent gift cards being sold. Why because you are responsible if you are making a profit and can't just hide your hands like Kaitlyn unfortunately thinks. I will file a complaint against her and dispute the transaction. My visit to the pharmacy department today was TOP TIER! Cecilia greeted me at checkout and I told her that in all the years I've been a customer, she's easily given me the best customer service. I asked her how long had she'd been working there and was surprised that it's only been three months (at this location). Today was only my second time seeing her. She greeted me with a smile and a genuine "How are you?" She also remembered me from my last visit. These are small things but makes the brief interactions much more meaningful. The pharmacists could make your day badly! My father doctor sent two new refill prescriptions last Friday. I only got one of them. I was told by CVS they only got one and let me contacted the doctor. They could take a verbal prescription. I thought maybe the doctor accidentally skipped the medicine for my dad diabetes. But it's not the case! The doctor sent me the records of prescriptions sent to CVS and said I should get the medicine per the record. However the guy, Daniel at drop off window, didn't like to help me and asked the doctor resend the prescription, but the doctor cannot do it because it apparently the CVS computer system doesn't work. He even told me to change doctor! Another female admitted it's glitch of their system but still cannot help me even I showed the record and doctor said the prescription same as the last time! Fortunately there's always a nice and decent professional guy, Anderson He eventually helped me to refill my dad medicine and I got it in fifteen minutes! Thank you!!! This CVS is not good. I came here to get my passport photo taken, and the staff did not know how to properly take my photo because I had curls... prejudice. Additionally the pharmacy is the slowest pharmacy I've ever experienced. Today I went into CVS Ladera Center for Tylenol to find it is locked in a case. It was very disappointing. The perception being the people of the community are thieves. The Manager on duty had to get the key for the cabinet and when I shared my opinion regarding the situation, asking she escalate my feedback, she looked unconcerned and said this is "under the direction of corporate." Once she took the Tylenol out of the cabinet I was expecting her to hand it to me, but instead she continued walk to the front of the store handing it to the cashier without explanation. Typically I don't spend money with retailers feeling the need to have products under lock & key and I will not be frequenting this CVS moving forward and encourage all reading this review to reconsider giving them your business. I came to this CVS in LA and I was amazed at how wonderful I was treated by the pharmaceutical staff they got approvals and filled my order in 10 minutes. It's unfortunate MY EXPERIENCE at BERKELEY CVS WLHAS BEEN A MEDICAL NIGHTMARE. They could care less that I was about to be out of my heart meds and told me to contact my Dr myself. Employees behind the counter don't care if there are 30 people in line; they refuse to open another window to assist customers. With 15 customers waiting in what is probably a steaming virus filled store, the very weary clerk spent 20 minutes with one customer - talking. She was unable to use common sense and call the manager. Instead, everybody suffered from her lack of good judgement; and if people die from caronavirus, everybody who died will owe it to the zombie clerk at Ladera Heights CVS. The manager came back from his break, and people were walking out of the store. I have known him for 25 years, and stopped here for over 55 years, but I will no longer do business here. Because CVS is not staffing, training and protecting its employees - I am no longer shopping here. Other CVS stores are better managed. This store has no competent managers; and I'm seeing a trend in all the CVS stores; no basic pharm goods, out of stock on national brands (like Ivory) and a very distant relationship with local customers. CVS is nothing but a human vending machine without inventory intelligence or management. Abandon ship. This is a large CVS with lots of selection, which is very convenient. The plaza is big with plenty of parking, too. The negatives I have encountered here have to do with the photo lab. But I find that it's probably not an unusual issue, as I've encountered the same problem with CVS photo labs in many different locations, including on the east coast. So I do not recommend CVS for their photo lab unless you are doing a photo job right there in-store; I do NOT recommend selecting this location for online photo jobs, as they can't seem to communicate with the online photo system and the job goes uncompleted. Anyway - the pharmacy here gets 5 stars. They always call me to confirm my prescription, then send me a text message when it's ready for pickup. The pickup line for medication is short, compared to some super long ones I've had to wait in at other locations. The folks working at the pharmacy are great. Very friendly and knowledgable, patient and helpful. The pharmacist went over exactly how to use my new prescription and she even took the time to run a couple of prescription discount cards so I could get a better price since my insurance wouldn't cover it. I really appreciated her kindness, patience, and helpfulness. I would definitely recommend this location if you need to have prescriptions filled. read more

If anyone knows how to actually contact this pharmacy by phone please post the secret. I spent nearly an hour on hold before the phone was disconnected. Normally at a business that operates in this manner interactions like this make avoiding the business quite easy. However not so simple in my situation. The reason I was calling is because the pharmacy had made errors on the medications for both my kids. Getting an order wrong at a fast food spot is one thing but getting medications wrong can be life threatening. This pharmacy is over subscribed and understaffed which led them to both make the mistakes and not be reachable by phone. I have zero tolerance for carelessness when it comes to healthcare. This pharmacy lost my trust and my confidence. If you shop here please double check your prescriptions with the pharmacist before you leave and certainly before putting medication in your body. I was there for my Mom's covid vaccine. After I did the line they told me to go to the drop off window to register her and Joyce was so rude, they are acting like they don't want to work. She send me to our side to register her. I told her my mom is 82 year old with kidney problems she can't wait to long. She wants to use the bathroom that was broken and she still want her to wait 45 min for her appointment time plus 15 minutes waiting time after covid vaccine. I felt frustrated.
