Horrible experience with the pharmacy. Called the pharmacy to get medications transferred and had Jessica (wouldn't tell me her last name or last initial) answer the phone. She was laughing and talking with friends while I was on the phone waiting. I said "hello" several times and she rudely answers "sir I'm working with another customer". Extremely unprofessional and flat out rude and disrespectful. I went in for flu, shingles and DPT. The site where he gave me shingles and DPT swoll up like a golf ball. Unable to lift arm for 2 days. Site of Flu vaccine is still bruised over a week later. It was injected too high and bleed a lot. I've never had vaccines injected sooo high on my arm. I'm not inclined to return to this CVS for my second shingles vaccine or flu for that matter. Zero if I could. I'm a heart transplant patient and went to pick up items I purchased online. I ordered a decent number of items, and a few heavy items. So I went to get a cart. They rudely informed me the carts do not go outside (spoke like I should know this already). So I returned it and got a basket that has wheels on it. They rudely told me THOSE can't go outside either. I said how do they suggest I get all of these to my car? They said to park at the curb. So as I'm carrying the first round of items to the car I tell them I'm a heart transplant patient and this should NOT be happening, this is NOT the way to treat disabled. They stared at me. I came in for the second round of items, they again stared at me. Not one person offered to help or had a solution. I had to sit in my car afterward to rest from straining. This is a PHARMACY. I can't believe they expect the elderly to do this? People that are even more limitedly-mobile? This is terrible and unacceptable. **update: a manager reached out. Assured this is not how the salespeople should have reacted and promised they would retrain the staff. I hope so. read more

I transferred to this pharmacy thinking it was going to be a better experience and it just gets worse every time. I have to switch back after 5 months. This time I was told my script was ready but I wait over a half hour only to learn that they can't find it and have to refill. So it's taking almost 45 minutes to get a script that was filled the day before. They are a mess. read more

In the minute clinic going over an hour now for an appointment. They don't care about you here

If you love being on hold for an hour or two so you can sit and listen to the same song over and over and over again this is your place. Make sure you carry your phone from room to room. Do not do anything that requires you to get your hands wet, like wash dishes or wash your hands. If you do, they will answer and then you are screwed because you will have less than a second to answer them as you fumble while drying your hands. Of course, putting the phone on speaker is okay but you will make everyone else fall into the chasm of CVS induced madness along with you. The song is meant to slither into your soul and numb your very being. If they do answer, be prepared to be put on hold, where they will hang up on you. And yes, you will have to call again. If you are lucky, they may talk to you but then you may have to steel yourself when trying to explain that they did not fill your prescription correctly. Your doctor may have to send the prescription more than once. They want to make your doctor frustrated too. All of his is meant to wear you down, turn you hair gray and make you cry or scream. They own you. Do not scream. They will hang up on you and you will have to call back. This will make everything worse. There are some pharmacists who are wonderful, wait until midnight when it is usually quiet and the one pharmacist who is on, can help. Even after the phone calls from you and your doctor your prescription may not be there. Do not scream until you are safe in our car. If you are getting vaccinated they do a good shot. It is too bad that you can't rate individuals or departments, hence the two stars. CVS hire another pharmacist or two. You can afford it. Your shareholders will have to get over losing $20 on their dividend checks. I miss the old stand alone Pharmacies. Sadly, even if there was one near me, they can't get the medicines I need. CVS can't even get the medicines I need. They don't have to, they are CVS, monopolizing the business, controlling our lives and wasting our time. There are good pharmacists out there, pay them enough, hire them. Make sure they are nice and competent. read more

If you're in a hurry or immediate need of your prescription this isn't the pharmacy to use. It doesn't matter what time you come - 10am, 1pm, 8pm the line is LONG. PERIOD. I don't think they're under staffed there's a lot of staff behind the glass. Maybe their "system" isn't working efficiently, whatever that may be. This is the worlds worst pharmacy - 30 minutes to get a BOTTLE OF LIQUID OUT OF THE FRIDGE - and then I get sent to a 3rd line and the lady really has the nerve to tell me it would be 15 more minutes. For a pre packaged bottle of liquid. You just have to walk to the fridge and grab it and hand it to me. 1 hour later...consider yourself lucky if you've never been to this disastrous excuse of a pharmacy. Absolutely terrible customer service. No empathy no compassion. No care for patients. I prescribed medication's for my family. Physician myself. After nine hours that I had prescribed when I got to the pharmacy, they tell me they don't have one of the medications. And it's almost closing time. I told the pharmacist that he had a duty to let me know much sooner so I can look at alternatives as I needed the medication for my family member. Then they tell me they have the medication, but I have to come back in an hour from now. When I actually waited 70 minutes just to give an extra time when I got here nothing was ready and then they tell me we don't have the medication. At that time. I let them have it and then they come back and tell me they only have four pills and I told them just give it to me It took them an additional 20 minutes just to get 4 pills ready. I highly recommend you do not ever prescribe or get any medication from this pharmacy. read more

The CVS Pharmacy staff at Marina Del Rey has always been amazing and helpful until today, 12/29/23. A person, i think it was a she with first initial "J", who answered the phone at 5p was rude and condescending. I understand that no one can guarantee anything - but she had NOT LISTENED to the very first question I posed "are the ozempic and mounjaro type drugs on backorder". I repeated it three times - yet she decided that because I did not like her answer, she would get more and more condescending. Oh how I wish people like her were not allowed to have any customer interaction. If she is so unhappy then quit! Stop taking out your misery on CVS customers. The ONLY good thing about this CVS is that it has lots of parking and that it's 24 x 7. Unfortunately, Ms. Huang / Pharmacist had been promoted to day-time hours, so no longer supports the grave yard shift. Darn -- it was wonderful knowing that I could just call in the middle of the night and she would answer / corrected things so that I had no further worries. Because one of my medications is not covered by insurance, I have to pay full price. My medication, however, CVS had doubled the pricing since last year (I buy 1 years worth at a time). Just for comparison, I checked out my medication's pricing at Amazon Pharmacy. Wow - my price from Amazon Pharmacy was half the price of CVS. After setting up a Amazon Pharmacy account, I approved Amazon FAXing and calling CVS to transfer my medication to Amazon Pharmacy for fulfillment. It has now been 7 days, and CVS appears to be doing everything they can to stone-wall the transfer of my medication. Instances: * Called CVS graveyard (around 2AM); Doug / pharmacist said that he doesn't know where the FAXed transfer papers are kept that are received from other pharmacies asking for medication transfers. I must call in the AM (?!) * Called CVS in AM: I was told that despite the FAXed request from Amazon, Amazon must call them and talk to them live in order to complete the transfer. I asked "Does that mean, you guys are deliberately ignoring the FAXED requests ??" She refused to answer, and only kept repeating that the other pharmacy must talk to them live. * Called Amazon / Pharmacy: they said have been having such issues with CVS for the last 3-4 months. She again put in another order (to be FAXed and via Telephone Call) to transfer my medication to them. * Despite multiple attempts (FAX and telephone calls), CVS has yet to transfer my medication to Amazon Pharmacy. From what I understand, Amazon Pharmacy has gotten through more than once to a live CVS rep via telephone. After identifying themselves as Amazon Pharmacy, CVS disconnected the call. * I've given CVS enough time to have this transferred, so decided to cancel the CVS order in favor of my MD and I having a conference call with Amazon Pharmacy, for my MD to give a new prescription directly to Amazon Pharmacy. * Unfortunately, Amazon Pharmcy had "misquoted " me their pricing, and when it was time to actually pay, it turns out Amazon's real pricing was not much better than CVS'. I was pretty mad. I told Amazon that I never would have tried so hard to have my prescription transferred to them if I had been initially quoted their actual pricing. * After a quick review of pricing based on GoodRX, I transferred the prescription from Amazon to Costco. With Costco's efficiency, the transfer only took a few hours. read more

I have an autoimmune disease, a degenerative spinal arthritis, bulging discs, etc., so I'm here quite often for prescriptions. I don't understand why there seems to always be a problem. Just today I was told they didn't have my scripts from my Rheumatology visit last Thursday. Unable to wait (pain) I returned home and called my doc. This is literally less than 15 mins later, and I'm told by my doc that they've had them and that the pharmacy just told them they were ready. Well over an hour later I received my pick-up text. Why do they lie? I would be inclined to think that, possibly, my doc dropped the ball, but this has now happened more than once to me and my husband, and with multiple doctors. Clearly it's easy to see who the common denominator is. Also, it left a really bad taste in my mouth when I was there this morning and heard the pharmacist telling a tech that a 'problem customer' who was there before is returning this afternoon. Listen, I'm sure you work with disgruntled customers all the time; I get it, I was a manager for the world's leading customer service retailer, Nordstrom, for many years. I have been screamed at, called names, whatever by people who have no reason to yell. But one thing I NEVER did was allow my team to openly discuss customer issues where other customers were in earshot. It's rude, gross and probably one of the worst displays of customer interaction I've ever seen. Grow up. read more

Came to this little Marina del Rey shopping center to go to the Hallmark store. They're gone!! It's now a Chase bank. Oh well... So I nipped on over to the always-open CVS. I am still on the quest for gift boxes, and not having much luck. Got a box of doggie Christmas cards and some wrapping paper. They changed the aisles and now some of the aisles go horizontal and some go vertical from the entrance. A little bit confusing. This store looks quite run down, but the check out line moves fast. There's one line that goes to however many checkers are there at the time. They sometimes use mentally disabled baggers so you have to be patient. The parking lot is enormous and serves a whole bunch of businesses. Usually you can find a place if it's not a rush hour or holiday. Actually I shouldn't call this center "small." I went to the pharmacy to get a prescription filled and the pharmacists were the rudest and least competent I've ever experienced. Additionally, you can't get through on the phone. I spent 10m on hold only to get to the pharmacy to see them taking their time and making jokes/laughing between themselves. If they had bothered to pick up the phone I could've not experienced the atrocity that was the customer service of these older women who clearly are there to judge and be rude but not to provide actual service. Avoid by whatever means necessary. Update: there's an older Asian woman who will lie to you. My urgent care sent over three prescriptions, including one for muscles relaxers for my extreme back pain after pulling my back. This woman lied and said my prescription was only for extra strength Tylenol, so I called the urgent care this morning to clarify, and they told me that they sent all three prescriptions over to CVS last night and wasn't sure why she said I had only been prescribed extra strength, Tylenol. You can't reach a manager. These people have no accountability. I was in excruciating pain for 14 additional hours, literally crying and having to stifle screams of pain from back pain and unable to sleep because this woman withheld medication from me that my doctor prescribed. I'm looking into how to report her to the pharmacy board, so yeah, don't come here. It's the worst pharmacy I've been to in my life with the worst people I've ever met. read more

This might be one of the worst pharmacies I've ever experienced. Almost every time there's some sort of negative interaction between a customer and a pharmacist/cvs employee and I cringe on how the CVS employee treats the customer, who mind you is purchasing medication so very well could be ill. specifically tonight at 7:30 PM, a woman name Lily was speaking to an older woman over the phone before helping me. Not a problem. But the way that she treated that lady over the phone was crude, not helpful, and frankly disgusting. She then was short with me and said my medicine will be ready in 20 minutes. I sat down in the store for 60 minutes patiently got back in line to get my prescription...not filled. I simply asked why. I was rudely told that I need to wait my turn, and it will be another 20 to 25 minutes because they haven't started on it. The pharmacy has no accountability, it's ran by what looks like a kid who bats an eye at any customer service request and the employees treat their customers with terrible service supplemented by rude and snobby attitudes. Highly recommend you get your medicine from elsewhere even if it's an additional 30 minutes out of the way...because that is the minimum you'll be waiting. read more

Yes, you do have to wait to be served. When they're busy, it may take some patience. But in my experience, the pharmacy has been very helpful especially outside normal business hours. We needed an emergency prescription filled which was hard to do over the weekend. Elva, one of the pharmacy technicians, gave us enough meds to make it through the next few days and said she'd already placed a call with the prescribing doctor. She said she'll give us a call once the doctor had been contacted. I'm grateful to the service Elva provided us, I don't always experience this sort of customer service. Thank you! read more

I work for a doctor's office and this CVS branch is the worst for putting calls on hold for a long time just to check if they have a medication in stock then the call just disconnects for a reason. So, I have to call back and be put on hold again. I'm thinking they are probably short of staff that day. But this is every time I call. Routinely have to wait in line for 30-45 minutes. Calling in to talk to a pharmacist will take 20+ mins on hold, and sometimes they'll just hang up the call without taking it. Not sure if they can't get staff or don't care, but it appears to be kind of a mess. read more

This CVS sucks and my legit example of poor management. 0742. I called to ask if passport photo service is open at this time. The guy said yes. I drove and arrived at 0748. 0749. I approached the older male staff at the cashier and I was told that the person in the photo service is on break and should be back in 10 minutes. It's fine. I roamed around the store,picked up few items and 3 other staff politely asked me if I needed help and told them the same thing that I needed help at the photo service but the person in charge is on break. 0810. I approached the lady at the photo service and asked if she can help me out and she said,"Hold on a minute." Another lady staff came and told her fellow staff that the photo machine was broken for a while now. No apology from them. I walked out and SMH. Rude. Simply and straight rudeness. I hate the fact that I wasted my time with nonsense BS and their own staff miscommunication. If only the manager has the ability to huddle his/her staff and give and obtain accurate reports before their shift starts. Obviously none of it was done. i frequent this CVS for their amazing beer prices. they have really good "holiday" type prices for the alcohol. Pavillions is right next door, but, i prefer coming here. this is a pretty big CVS. complete with a frozen food section and some groceries. they also have fully stocked misc. aisles for everything from toys, to appliances, to hardware. the staff are relatively friendly. not exactly smiling susans, although the photo lady seems always cheery. if there is a line, they turn it quick. and that is my major concern. they lose one star for one simple, self serving, selfish reason.... the $4-$5 off coupons that print off on my receipt with my beer purchases... are NOT good for beer purchases!!!!!! why lawd why!!!!! read more

I love coming to this CVS because it is a 24 hour store and pharmacy. I would go to the one closest to my house but they aren't open 24 hours and the parking situation there is terrible. This store is bigger and better. The have a great selection of over-the-counter drugs, cards, gift wrapping, snacks, and hygiene products for both men and women. They also have a wide selection of liquor, a photo center, and a minute clinic...(yes, in that particular order.) The service at the pharmacy is top notch! They're very fast and efficient in processing prescriptions. The greatest thing about this pharmacy is they have an automated refill service that sends a text to your smartphone requesting a refill and it notifies you of when it's ready. I love this service because I hate speaking to a automated voice over the phone. The staff in the pharmacy is always friendly, knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. They always seem to identify a new prescription and ensure you of how to use it. The staff members in the store is always helpful, polite, and cheerful as well. They always greet you and ask you if you're looking for something in particular if they spot you entering the store. The self checkout system is a faster way to purchase items and I use it if I'm in a hurry but I like the traditional checkout lanes better. I like the interaction with a cashier. read more

The pharmacists at this godforsaken CVS will not under any circumstance answer the phone. I have spent over an hour trying to get on the phone with someone to check the status of my prescription. Phone technology was given to us by Alexander Graham Bell over 100 years ago but it would literally be faster to ride there on horseback and check on my prescription in person like it's the 1700s. Do they not have phones? Is this some sort of joke phone where it's not connected to anything? I am literally still on hold as I write this review.
