Wait times for pharmacy phone calls are horrific. I called to fill a prescription and the pharmacist said it would be ready after 5 pm that day. When I called the next day to confirm it was ready, I was on hold 35 minutes and finally just drove over there while still waiting on hold. When I got there, there were 3 employees milling about with no indication they were answering phones. They gave me an excuse about being short staffed even though there was nobody else in line. They told me my prescription had not been filled as promised, and that I'd have to wait an hour. I will avoid coming to CVS in the future unless I need a 24 hour pharmacy, and will go to Rite Aid which treats its customers much better. read more

Would not reommend this pharmacy for any vaccines. They advertised FREE flu vaccine online and this turned out to be an abject lie for which they will be reported. The pharmacy tech at the desk on intake was rude and ignorant. He blurted out , "It's $50 dollars" then asked for my insurance card. I don't anywhere that charges that much for a flu vaccine. He then acted like I was some bozo who had no clue. I gave him my Anthem card and he said they would not cover it. He asked me for a MediCal card. I told him that I had just given him the cadillac of insurance and he didn't want it. Why would I have a MediCal card ( which is usually used by people who have no commercial insurance). I ended up walking out because of his ignorance and arrogance. DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY FOR YOUR HEALTHCARE NEEDS. 5969 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood: STARS: Minus 5. The last three times my son's doctor sent in his prescription electronically on the same day as his appointment. Each of those three times we checked our online CVS account which listed the medication as ready for pick-up. Each time it wasn't ready for at least another week. Yesterday I had words with pharmacy manager Mike, a guy who l looks to be about 16 years old and rude as they come. Wouldn't even look at me as we talked, then told me to get my Rx filled elsewhere. Part of the pharmacy manager's job is scheduling employees hours and ordering meds. This store's pharmacy is always under staffed. Usually wait in line at least half an hour. Then we are lied to as to when it will be ready. Finally my wife was told they are having a "supply problem." I know that if one supplier is out of a particular medication, they have many others to choose from. Maybe another supplier charges a bit more, so instead of their usual 1500% markup they can only get a 1200% markup. When I made a stink about the poor service, I was told not to come back to the store. Once Walgreens accepts our insurance, beginning April 1st, I will be going there. Meanwhile if I am harrassed by security or whomever when I go to pick up meds, I will file a civil rights suit. I'll keep you posted. read more

Literally the absolute worst. No transaction is EVER smooth. Employees never have any idea what is going on and every employee has their own idea of procedure. I get different answers for the same question from every employee. Two weeks ago I tried to fill a monthly prescription.... like I do EVERY MONTH and knowing full well nothing ever goes smoothly I ALWAYS try to fill it ahead of time so I never have to go without my medication. This time I dropped off my script on a Friday, told them I would be out of town until Monday but I WOULD BE IN ON MONDAY to get it... their response- "not a problem we don't put meds back until day 5". I go in on Monday... loooo and behold they reshelved my meds and now WERE COMPLETELY OUT. I was then told that with controlled substances it was only a two day hold unless I told them otherwise... WHICH I PURPOSEFULLY DID. I was then told a new batch would arrive Wednesday and I would get a text when it was filled.... no text came in so I went in on Friday morning and nothing was filled and they were already out of the new batch. I left town for a few days and called in on the following Friday to see if it was ready... I WAS TOLD OVER THE PHONE AT 6pm (after waiting for some to pick up the phone for 18 minutes) that they DID HAVE the med in and it would be ready for pick up in 45 minutes. I told them I would not make it in that night but I would be in first thing the next morning. I was there by 10:30 (they open at 10) and was told the meds had not been in stock for days and my scrip was not filled. The ONLY good thing I can say about this place is there seems to be a new pharmacist (Lilit) who was very apologetic and as equally confused as to why it has now been OVER TWO WEEKS and I have not been able to get my meds. And this is NOT a one off. It is something like this LITERALLY every month. I can't tell you how many times they try to tell me my insurance isn't working and I get on the phone with my insurance IN STORE and everything is fine... I hand the phone to the CVS employee and suddenly my insurance that wasn't working suddenly works. The gentleman with the pony tail FINALLY cared enough to permanently fix whatever the issue was whereas every other employee would just take my insurance's word for the active account but leave whatever error was in the computer there so I would be forced to deal with the issue every.single.month. Hopefully Lilit can clean up shop and get some competent staff in there... or AT LEAST get everyone on the same page. NOW if you want a hassle free CVS I suggest the CVS in Target on Figueroa and 8th. Never once a single issue. I just wish they were more convenient for me. read more

Went here to pick up a prescription that was already supposed to be filled and they told me to wait to get it filled after waiting in line for 15 min so I sat and waited for another 15 min. They finally filled it, got the amount of pills wrong, and then I had to come back to get the extra 7 pills added and had to sit and wait for that. I work in Cypress and used to live in Cerritos (Cerritos to cypress is about 5 miles apart), recently moved to Toluca lake, CA. Because it's Saturday and I need to drop off my prescriptions, because I do not have an address reflecting the city of "Toluca Lake, Ca"; I'm out of their jurisdiction (let me remind you that I had my drivers license, with an address, unexpired). I confirmed with him that these medications are not new and i pick these up monthly and I always get the meds from cvs, he checked and confirmed with their database that my statements were true. Still, he refused to assist me because I didn't have a drivers license with the most current address - no shit, I just moved. He stated verbatim "it's the law" and he is just "following the law", my question to the CVS at this location and all the pharmacists out there, is this statement true?! I called cvs Caremark and even research online, it is NOT the law. He also dare to say" I can simply lie and say we don't have the medications, then what? And it's inconvenient for us because we can lose our job?!". Literally closing the shutters in my face when all I'm doing is asking them to check the system for my son's prescription. Doesn't matter which doctor I use, or how many times I call to confirm they called in my prescription. This CVS never has it. Customer service is terrible. This has been happening for the past 5 months. I generally go 3-5 days without the med. Most recently (last week) I was informed my medication was on order. That same day I was notified it was filled. When I arrived to pick it up I was told it was on order then the pharmacist said they could have it ready in 30 mins. She also mentioned it must be my lucky day. I couldn't go in 30 mins but called first thing the following morning. The pharmacy told me they were waiting for the shipment to arrive and had NO awareness of my previous conversation with the pharmacist. They mentioned they will call me upon receiving the shipment. They called and told me the supplier was out. I asked what to do and was told to get a new prescription from my doctor and find a location that could fill it. FAIL!!!! Pharmacy is the absolute worst. I have to hold their hand through everything and constantly call them to make sure they are doing their job. I take a medication that has a very short expiration date for when I can pick it up and it is never in stock. I assume that when the doctor sends in the prescription, the pharmacist would call it in to order but they never do. I show up giving them 2-3 days to prepare my order only to find out that they never ordered it. I then miss my window and have to start all over. The pharmacy here is a nightmare. Every month its the same song and dance. Tonya, the overzealous pharmacist with an ego to match gives me a difficult time every single time I go. I have the same medication disbursed every month and have been receiving this Rx for the past 8 years. Nothing has changed... its THE SAME. I take it as prescribed yet every time I request a refill it takes days for her to approve it because she feels it necessary to bother my DR for a verbal approval. He can't stand them either and has repeatedly asked me to go elsewhere... I will now for sure. You would think by now she would get it together but her personal vendetta against me and anyone who no only receives a controlled substance but questions her as well, turns her into a rude, non compliant person who then abuses her position and causes additional pain and trauma to the customer. CVS just sucks no matter what but I tolerated it because it was close to my house. Now I am just sick of her and I wish she would get fired. This pharmacy is horrible. The convenience store part is large and fine I guess, but the pharmacy is HORRIBLE. I have a monthly prescription that they always have trouble filling. They claim it's not in the system, they claim they don't have the inventory, they tell me it's ready to pick up and when I show up they tell me I need to wait two hours. I have had my prescription there for months and one month they tell me they don't have it and they've never filled it. They told me I must be confused and I probably have the wrong cvs. I knew they were wrong but still called a diff cvs, that cvs saw it in the original cvs's system. How can another store see it but the actual pharmacy with the prescription can't find it? Because they literally can't be bothered. On top of that they are so rude and have no customer service/bedside manner. I don't need my pharmacist to be my bestie, but I'd also like to get medicine without being glared at and talked down to. Do not shop at this CVS! I experienced firsthand the dismal customer service at this location and want to share my cautionary tale. I haven't been to this CVS before but I was in the area and needed eye drops so I popped in here to buy some. I grab the Clear Eyes from the shelf and stand in line. There are 2 people in front of me and one cashier open. At first I wasn't paying attention and was playing on my phone until I started wondering what's taking so long so I look up and realize it was taking so long because the cashier was trying to ring up the transaction for a customer WHILE FLIPPING THROUGH THE PAGES OF A GOSSIP MAGAZINE!!! I cannot believe what I was seeing! My eyes must be playing tricks on me! How can this be, I ask the girl in front of me. She shrugs and says "...at least she's working. You ought to see what goes on in the pharmacy department." WOW. JUST, WOW. So finally it's my turn and I walk up to the cashier. She doesn't look up from the US Weekly she's been reading and scans my item. She doesn't look at me when she tells me the amount. I pay her, take my item and said thank you, all the while trying to get her to hold my gaze. She never looked up nor did she bat an eye as she says, "NEXT!" There are no words but a question lingers. I transferred my perscriptions here when they first opened. THe Walgreen's in the area was always SO slow and I liked the CVS where i used to live so I figured "what the heck?" I've been in that store numerous times before. I've come in with bi purses, backpacks, luggage straight from the airport and i Have never been bothered. But last night for some reason the lady standing at the door decided to treat me like a criminal due to the fact I had a Trader Joe's grocery bag with me. I walked in and headed for the pharmacy and the woman stops me and in broken English goes "Leave right here please," as she pointed at my bag. Well, that wasn't happening as i had items that I was shipping at the post office that were desirable items. I wasn't about to leave my bag at the front of the store to have it stolen while she helped someone with the self check. I looked at her and asked "Are you serious?" She nodded her head yes. I informed her I'd be taking my business elsewhere and walked out. I am 34 years old, I have a job and I have money to spend. I do not appreciate being treated like a criminal becuse I carry a grocery bag into a store. Just because the area this store is in is a bit shady doesn't mean I am that way. I hadn't been treated that way before, so what made her single me out? I will be looking for a new pharmacy, most likely a small mom & pop place not a corporation that treats each customer like they are a theif. read more

I needed to pick up a prescription from my dental appointment, since they are nearby, I stopped by. While it was busy, this location is always pretty busy, but they keep the lines orderly and running smoothly. After picking up the prescription, I grabbed some other items, and was assisted by Yesenia, she was pleasant and had me out very quickly. The parking here can be a bit of a challenge, there are way too many businesses stacked up on this lot and it can be a headache at times. Aside from that, I recommend this CVS. read more

Where do I start with this CVS review? I've had some of the worst experiences there. I can't even order delivery because I'm never sure if they are going to refill my prescription correctly. I had to wait for a medication because the pharmacy said they have to order it and it will be there in a couple of days. I ended up waiting a week and a half until they finally filled it! AND that was after calling them, holding on the phone for half an hour until someone answered, AND REMINDING THEM about the prescription which they hadn't filled until I actually called!!! In another instance, my doctor faxed a prescription to the pharmacy, they said they didn't receive the fax. My doctor's nurse sent another fax while I was on the phone with her, again they said they didn't receive it. Eventually, I had to go to my doctor's office to pick up the prescription and physically deliver it to the pharmacy. Later, the pharmacy texted me saying they didn't have my insurance information, although I have given them my insurance information repeatedly. This is just a taste of the horrible experiences I've had there. Add to that they are rude, condescending, and generally seem to be pissed off at life. My final word on this CVS? Their right hand doesn't know what their left is doing. I just wish I can change pharmacies, but I'm stuck with them. I'm not giving up though, I'm calling my insurance to see what can be done. She took my information, handled my insurance, told me the cost, and even gave me instructions on how to use the mixture. In short, she did everything with extreme professionalism. There was no line for the self-check out but I opted to wait for the cashier to get some human interaction and I'm SO glad I did bc I met Loreta. She is so full of light and love! She made me laugh from start to finish. The manager was there (wish I got your name) and you can tell he also just enjoys her presence. Everything was clean and organized there as well. Nope. Nope. Nope. Avoid at all costs. The most rude, uneducated pharmacy employees I have ever come across. They even admit their ignorance. Came in to get a medication filled because another CVS said this one had my medication in stock (I had filled the same prescription here about 1 year prior). Well, after waiting 10 minutes before even being acknowledged, after another 10 minutes, I was finally able to hand my perscription over. After staring at the computer screen the female assistant went to the pharmacist. After another few minutes, she came back and said they dont have it. I said ok, how long would it take to order and be delivered. She then floored me by saying no, they wouldn't order it because they have never even heard of this medicine. Ok... that was the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Not that they didn't immediately know what the medicine was, but that they didn't even bother to look it up like ANY other pharmacy does. I tried telling her that CVS has filled this medication for mg e before, and even this 1, once before. She immediately pulled up a blank history on me. Trying to say I was wrong and not been to CVS before..but funny thing is, she had my address from 3 years prior. I I went back to the CVS in Burbank, though they didnt have my medication, I showed them the blank history. They shook there heads, apologizing profusely for this CVS pharmacy behavior and showed me my true CVS history. There was no reason to be gaslighting, and rude to try and cover for their incompetence. Never again. And I will continue to tell everyone to avoid this CVS. read more
