This is for the pharmacy, deserving of zero stars. I dropped off two new scripts yesterday3/29/22)after standing in a miserable line. Then the gentleman behind the counter took my scripts, entered my goodRX info and told me to come back tomorrow(3/30/2022) After standing in yet another wretched line today, I get to the front and am told these drugs aren't on my drug profile. I explain they were dropped off yesterday. first the young women says she thought they weren't allowed to accept paper scripts anymore and starts to look for them. She gets the pharmacy tech, some blonde boy to come out, look me in the eye and tell me that he called the doctor and they were not to be filled. These are not controlled drugs and guess what, I work for the doctor's office and NO ONE called. He awkwardly offers me back my paper scripts, after nonchalantly putting a sticker over the labels that were previously created and stuck onto the back of said paper RX. Truly an abysmal encounter. Life is top short to get crappy customer service. read more

Don't go to this pharmacy unless you want to waste your time. It's probably the dirtiest pharmacy you will ever see. I scheduled vaccinations 2 weeks ago. Cvs spam texted me nearly every day to remind me of the appointment. They ran out of vaccines some time during the day and I guess couldn't send me one more text message to let me know. I waited for over 30 minutes to have them tell me they don't have the vaccine at all. While waiting the pharmacy staff were incredibly rude to an old lady in need of her medication. And everyone overheard the pharmacist calling a parent of a young child who accidentally received an adult covid vaccination. If you want to waste your time, get the wrong or no vaccinations, and/or have to deal with rude unorganized pharmacy staff this is your place I guess. read more

Terrible service. I returned an unopened purchase for a refund. Was told it wouldn't be a problem when I bought it. The obviously unhappy employee refused to process the refund. I get businesses are understaffed. I can't blame the employees for being stressed. It's the management that stole a lot of money from me. read more

Finally looking for a new pharmacy. So conveniently close to my house, but never a good experience. My medications have never once been ready the first time I come (despite giving several hours between when it is ordered by my doctor). Always a line just to find out it won't be ready for hours. I feel for the workers because they are probably short-staffed, but there has to be a better option read more

I have called 4 times today, I've never talked to a live person to see if my prescription went through from a new doctor! I can't get there before they close...and in order for me to have someone go pick it up, I just want to confirm that it is there or not. I called AGAIN For the 5th time, and now they are closed. CVS here is basically a pharmacy'medical supplies store. it's so small no alcohol nor groceeries are shelved here. (didn't look for them thugh). only drinks are in the far left corner as u enter the store. buys: tall amazon palmer (.69 w/card). -it's ok, -talls come in plastice while regular amazons are aluminum. notes: -meds pricey here. read more

I had an appointment today at 5:45pm for flu shot and covid booster. I made the appointment 12 days ago and confirmation up until 4:30pm. I leave my job in the city and arrive at 5:45pm for the appointment and the pharmacist said they were too busy to provide my vaccine. She told me to try a walkin at at Piedmont ave tomorrow despite the fact that I had no appointment there. Mind you there were no other vax patients waiting and only one person waiting in the prescription line. I work pretty hard and I expect other people whether they be my pharmacist or doctor to keep appointments, especially health related one. This type of service from a health care professional is shameful. And guess what, I'll never go there again. People who break promises whatever the context suck! I'm afraid this CVS gets the suck rating. read more

Do not speak to the pharmacist who will treat you as if you have an IQ of 10 if you have lived in more than one location recently (check your privilege ma'am- not all of us have the benefit of being housed in the same location for several years) or if you mispronounce the name of your medication. read more

Hands down the worst CVS pharmacy that I've been to. Try the one on Telegraph in Berkeley. What a mess! I arrived at 1:30 and was told my prescription would be 5 minutes. I forgot wallet and had meeting, so I returned 1.5 hrs later. I'm still waiting. This unfortunately was not the first time of poor service. read more

I had a prescription that was phoned in by my doctor. The prescription called for 60 pills. I received a brown paper bag stapled shut by the pharmacy when I picked up the prescription. I got home and opened the bag. It did not look like 60. I counted and it was half the prescription, although the bottle said it had the full 60 pills. I went back to the pharmacy and after 44 minutes I was given more pills. As I did not trust the or ability to count to 60 I counted the pills at the counter. There were only 57. The pharmacist refused to provide the three missing pills. I am in the process of a complaint to the licensing authorities and up the CVS administration ladder. I do not know whether this is simple incompetence or something far more nefarious. I would have found it easier to believe incompetence before the refusal to dispense the last three pills. This has cost me a considerable amount of time and effort. If you deal with this pharmacy be aware of this pote ti problem. You may want to count your pills before leaving the pharmacy. read more

I'm writing about the incompetent service I received at the Montclair District Oakland CVS store. I've never met a manager who was more dense. There was a small bureaucratic snafu that she could have handled quickly and avoided a lot of grief. It wasn't my fault at all.This had to do with the Covid booster shot. She didn't and didn't take the time to listen and understand me at all. I was directed online by CVS to go to a certain store to get the Pfizer version of the booster shot. Arriving there I was told they didn't have that version that I had to drive clear across town to another CVS. Arriving at this, the Montclair store, I was hounded by the manager for not having an appointment. She didn't even give me a chance to explain. Over and over she's just yelling about appointments and registration. She could have easily solved the problem by squeezing me in. GenerallyI receive poor service at CVS stores but this took the cake! read more

I wish I could give negative stars. This is for the pharmacist on duty on 7/28/21. I only changed to this pharmacy because it's close to my house. They filled my medication, and it ended up being a different brand than from my old pharmacy. I only realized that they gave me something different when I got home. With this specific medication, there is a risk that the same dose can vary from band to brand. I'm a cancer patient and I'm expecting a baby; knowing what changing brands does, I politely inquired if I can return the medication back based on my circumstances. The pharmacist refused to do it, and moreover said that I was condescending to him when I asked him if he will be ok with me potentially experiencing side effect from this medication ( I had to stay my grounds because they have me 3 months supply). Then he hung up the phone!! Zero customer service and understanding of personal health circumstances. People in this profession forgot they are dealing with human life. If I knew they will be changing the brand, I would never even transferred. He could have worked with my situation, but he chose not to; he even acknowledged that I was correct about experiencing side effects when brands are changed for this specific medication. This is pure negligence, and "professionals" like this should not be given license. read more

Can't give zero stars or I would. They've been fined for HIPPA violations more than once. They've given out the script of person A to person B. They wanted $60 for what Costco charges $26 for just now. But getting the script filled took over a week and they didn't fill it as soon as they got it. The excuse way that I needed to physically come in first which is nonsense they have filled it before and had it ready for pickup. Then they didn't fill it a second time because of a bunch of nonsense reasons that ultimately only serve to cover up the fact this pharmacy is extremely poorly run. Why didn't you guys call me when you needed more info exactly? Now I have to cancel my script and likely not pick it up until after Christmas because of this. My doctor sent in my prescription a week ago. I never heard from CVS so I called yesterday, only to be on hold for almost 20 minutes before hanging up. When I checked the prescription status online nothing showed up. Tried the pharmacist again and was told the prescription had been put on hold for a week although they couldn't tell me why. The gentleman on the phone said he could fill it within an hour. I said I would pick it up this morning, but when I checked the status to make sure it was ready it showed as delayed for another day. Selected the option to speak to the pharmacist to get the prescription transferred to another CVS - was told they can't do that even though they've done it twice before when they didn't have a medication. She finally looked up my prescription and said they had the medication there and I could pick it up in 2 hours. I showed up 2 hours and 40 minutes later and it still wasn't filled. Turns out the person filling prescriptions didn't bother to check their shelf and just said they didn't have the medication. The pharmacist instructed them to expedite filling it for me but the person kept doing other things. When the pharmacist asked if they were done with my order they just laughed and asked her if she wanted to do it. I was the only person waiting and there were 5 staff people. Due to a health issue I have a hard time standing for long without shaking. By the time everything got done I couldn't even sign my name. I certainly didn't find anything funny about waiting over a week for my medication, the time wasted on phone calls, and the additional wait in the store. Having the staff member laugh about not checking to see if they had the medication and being asked twice to fill it quickly was just completely disrespectful. Don't bother going here. There is one woman in the pharmacy who has been very rude to me twice on the phone when I have called to see if my prescription is ready. They don't seem to have anything in stock and they don't even bother to contact you or your doctor to let you know that they can't fill it. I have had one thing filled there and after getting their text, I drove over and then they couldn't find it for about 15 minutes. So, small store, limited items and a very very nasty employee in the pharmacy. She shouldn't be working anywhere. read more

The cashier is very nice and pleasant but if the store is going to allow exchanges/return to be processed (for 8+minutes) at the single-staffed point of sale, then maybe make sure the self checkout machine is actually working, or that the single cashier knows to call for a backup cashier, esp when there are four people waiting in line. read more

This place is teeny tiny so there is not a lot of inventory. Today the cashier rang me up wrong and then took her time ringing me up correctly after she had the prior transaction reversed. I then realized I needed to buy something else so I went back and she was no longer at the cashier stand. Instead she was oblivious to the checkout line while rearranging the vitamin shelf. I finally asked her if she could ring me up and she came back. She was apathetic at best. I am glad the CVS staff in my neighborhood is friendlier. read more

As I got to the register, I was bummed, the line was so long... to my surprise after a minute I saw a lady openning a new register and then another one was open.. I was out of there in a few minutes. I told the nice lady at the register, Stephanie, that I haven't received this service in any CVS I have been through and although this branch is out of my way I will definitely come back. read more

Uff. I tried to use this pharmacy but they answer their phone like this "nnn calls ahead of you, please hold. Click." And then I waited for 15 minutes TWO times without someone picking up. So, I called back and took a different phone answering route to leave my name and number and request a call back. After waiting an hour and a half without a call back, I decided to shop elsewhere for my meds. Dear manager: Try ASKING SOMEONE IF THEY WANT TO HOLD OR RECEIVE A CALL BACK! It is phenomenally rude of you to waste my time without my permission. Also quite presumptuous of you that I wish to hold at all. I don't. A TIMELY (2 hours) callback would have been sufficient. read more

This place really needs a management restructure. Pharmacy is weak, staff doesn't smile, pretend to care and their hours are limited.

This is the absolute WORST pharmacy due to the customer service. Every time I go into this pharmacy I leave extremely frustrated & I see the same thing with most customers. A family member dropped off a prescription note from the doctor on Thursday and they said the prescription would be ready the same day. She goes in three days later after hearing nothing from them and they said they don't have anything on file and have lost the note. This is very typical of this pharmacy and I highly suggest sending your medication to ANY other pharmacy but this. They need a new change in management or some extreme customer service skills workshop because this place is highly unorganized and i absolutely hate when I have to pick up my prescriptions here. Dangerous mistakes and unprofessional staff. Wrong prescriptions, wrong dosages, wrong doctors, wrong insurance information, even gave me the wrong customers prescriptions. Rude pharmacy staff, turnover like crazy. The pharmacist who gave me the wrong doctor info put me on hold mid sentence and then would not give me her name to file a complaint with cvs customer service. I tried to give them a chance after they fired the whole pharmacy staff a few times, but they just can't get it right. Convenient location and nice folks working up front, but just not worth it to risk your health and sanity. read more

WORST PHARMACY EVER.. There is always a shortage of staff at this pharmacy, they mess up prescriptions, don't have prescriptions ready on time and send you texts to pick up your meds but then tell you that there is nothing ready for you!!!! Most of the staff are rude, impatient, don't know how to do the job or don't want to do their job and could care less about the customers. Customers are bounced around like ping pong balls. Their customer service skills and interaction with the customers at best deserves NEGATIVE 5 stars. Tragically, I have to give them one star to post this review. I have never experienced worse customer service at any pharmacy The front cashier staff are very nice. This place is so small, the inventory is really not there. Do yourself a favor and go to the Rite Aid across the street, it is clean, large and has far nicer pharmacy staff. The pharmacy manager needs to hire some people who actually want to do the job and don't feel we should feel honored to have been served by them. Many people who come to pick up medication are in pain or otherwise ill and should be treated with more empathy and respect. Today I visited the Longs Drugs in the Montclair district of Oakland, CA. This was my first and only visit to the pharmacy at Longs since moving here in June. My visit was to pick up a prescription for my pet, however I decided to do a bit of comparison shopping first. I stopped at Rite-Aid to check their price for the same prescription and found that it was quoted at nearly $6 less ($17 versus $23) than Longs. I went to Longs and asked a very simple question, "Do you match prices with Rite-Aid?" The young lady at the counter looked at me as though I had six heads growing out of my neck and simply stated, "I don't think so, why?" I told her that Rite-Aid quoted a price less than Longs and asked her if she could find out. She turned around and YELLED across the pharmacy, "DO WE MATCH PRICES WITH RITE-AID?" The answer of course was no, so I asked her if I should take a copy of the prescription with me. "Well where is it?" I told her it was already filled and waiting for me to pick up there. She told me to have Rite-Aid to call them to transfer the prescription. I said thank you and left, but not quickly enough because as I was walking away, I heard her emit the dreaded "Pffft" as though someone had let the air out of her. I don't believe that my questions was invalid at all considering the state of our economy, especially since I don't have health insurance on my pet. I certainly did NOT appreciate the way I was treated at this pharmacy and certainly don't intend on EVER setting foot in there again! One visit is all it takes to scare a new customer away - I wonder what the treatment is like for the regular customers?! And just for the record, I ended up paying nearly $10 less at Rite-Aid for the same medication, quite worth the horrible service and disrespect I received from this pharmacy. read more

Apparently this location is under new management and it shows. I've been here a couple of times in the past and they had stock issues and lack of good customer service. But I went here again and not only was everyone helpful and friendly, they also had exactly what I needed. Glad I gave them a third chance. read more
