This place is almost always really busy, and even though the staff is slammed, I always get the time I need. I always get good information, get my questions answered by polite people. ..even though they are generally smacked. I just had a prescription rejected over an insurance issue and I left rather than take a lot of time because so many people were waiting. This is bar far the world's best pharmacy. So many drugs so little time. Wow, I could spend my life here sampling all the colorful and tasty medications. Just don't blow through this pharmacy. Standing in line could only make me dream of lines. The alley is a great place to shoot yo up for a quick application of the various HIGH flying pharmaceuticals. This review is for the pharmacy staff not the front store staff. I've been going to this pharmacy due to proximity for many years. The change in staff over the last year has just been dreadful. I've handed them prescriptions and seen the medication on the shelf behind them to be met with the phrase, "I will see if we have this". I've had to wait in lines while people who came after me were served before me. I've not once successfully had a prescription called into them that I was able to walk out with in one try. I've had my last frustrating experience there and will now be finding another pharmacy. I hope this place goes back to the customer service it had three years ago. read more

This is the worst CVS around. I've been here a few times (only when desparate). As all of the previous reviews indicate, the service here is abysmal. The pharmacist (woman) was rude, snappish and completely lacking in any knowledge outside of what was written in front of her. The staff here all seem to be angry about something - whatever it is, needs to be fixed. People come to drug stores to get well, not to be antagonized. If you need a prescription filled, go to Montclair Pharmacy down the street. It is small and family-owned. The service is outstanding (fast, reliable and friendly). Why even go to CVS when Montclair Pharmacy is around? I had my prescriptions transferred over to them from CVS immediately. I just received my prescription after a few moments of waiting - the quality of the prescriptions at Montclair Pharm is far superior to CVS. The pills I received from CVS was powdery, broken and disintegrated. Montclair Pharm? Whole, clean and pristine! Definitely the better choice. read more

Would of gave this place 5 stars but the pharmacy people are somewhat horrible ,seems like there unhappy with there jobs,it's hard to be a customer somewhere they don't like your business,but as far the regular store employees there great and always there to help. read more

They allow lines to grow to 20 plus minutes at the pharmacy and avert their eyes rather than address the issue with another cashier. New staff appears to receive no training. No sense of the customer being right. read more

My go to pharmacy/drug store. They're not a huge store, but when I go there looking for a certain item i'm sure they'll have, they have it. I can go in and out with stuff i need. The staff is always pretty nice too. read more

Pretty standard local drugstore. It's a bit small but seems to have whatever I need when I go. Pharmacists are pleasant, but takes a while to get prescriptions (drop offs usually take about 1-2 hours to fill and call in usually 1-2 days). read more

This store is expensive and the line at the pharmacy is very long. It takes a long time to get a prescription. They need more pharmacists. It is depressing to stand there waiting in line while they play easy listening music and you are surrounded by decrepit people filling prescriptions. The pharmacists are very nice though. WORST PHARMACY EVER! A pharmacy is the last stop before someone who is in pain or suffering gets their relief. Pharmacists try to lobby that they are more than pill jockeys but a vending machine would be more empathetic and effective than this CVS Pharmacy. My wife's doctor called in a Rx yesterday. I called today at 7pm to see if the right prescription was sent in and they had me on hold for over 20 minutes!! I drove to the pharmacy WHILE STILL ON HOLD and watched as all 3 staff people couldn't be bothered to answer the phone. I finally hung up when I reached the counter. When she looked up the prescription it wasn't ready... almost 2 days had passed and it wasn't ready!?!? Then she told me they didn't have the med. She then tried passing the blame on me, asking me if I called the night before to see if the prescription was filled. I told her I spent the past 30 minutes on hold, and after some other words, she had the pharmacy tech look at the stock. Guess what they found.... a HUGE bottle of the med!! Yeah, she LIED THAT THEY WERE OUT OF THE MEDICATION! They don't care to answer the phone, they don't care to fill a medication, they LIE when they don't care to fill a med, then they act as if they're entitled to get paid to do nothing! read more

I think they're great and very helpful. They go out of their way to get you the prescriptions you need, especially when you are picking-up for someone else! Very difficult at other places, but not here. They have taken the time to give me different cost estimates for generic vs. name brand to weigh my options. They are always busy and in high-demand, but work very efficiently to get to everyone timely. They often know their customers by name. Also, by phone they are one of the fastest pick-ups. read more

Terrible pharmacy. They will never have your prescription ready and don't even think about calling to speak to someone. Last time I tried that I was told there was one call ahead of me then left on hold for over 10 minutes, when I called back I was belittled by the pharmacist I finally got through to. This pharmacy seems to be emblematic of CVS customer service as a whole - incredibly slow, if not unresponsive altogether. The prescriptions are never ready, the staff indifferent. At times, they don't even answer the phone, and that includes for physicians calling in scrips. When I called the CVS district office to complain, it took me four times to get through to a district manager, who said that this location is chronically understaffed, that they should in any case answer the phone. She promised she'd talk with them and then report back to me. That was more than a month ago, and I haven't heard from her yet! Even the RiteAid across the street is better. Better yet, try Wellspring Pharmacy in Piedmont: they deliver! read more

In the past year or so, especially after Tim Loo retired,, the pharmacy has become terrible. Medication not ready when it is promised,, and i have had occasions when it was ordered that it was not filled until I came to pick it up, at the promised time. Were they concerned that I might not show? I will change pharmacies. This a.m. an RX was called in from Alta Bates. Wife heard it placed. You guessed it--the pharmacist or whomever answers the phone claimed they had never received the call! AVOID THIS PHARMACY AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

The CVS on 2000 Mtn Blvd is still bad. But I don't want its ineptness to taint another CVS, the one on Redwood Rd. That CVS is excellent. They are smarter than the average and very accommodating. And they go that extra mile to ensure my meds needs are kept current. This branch of CVS, the one of Redwood Road in Oakland, is recommended. read more

Seriously the most friendly, helpful CVS I've ever visited. Upon entering, I was greeted by both the cashier and the manager, the latter of whom asked if he could assist me in any way. Although I didn't need his help at the time, the cashier later came out from behind the counter to assist me. Additionally, the store was the cleanest CVS I've ever visited.
