As far as CVS's go, I've experienced many better. Issues here: 1. Their parking lot is located across an alley, and it's shared with a public pay lot. Apparently if you go into CVS, you get 45 minutes of free parking. After that, what happens? Also, what if someone thought I didn't go into the CVS (when I actually did), would I get a ticket? 2. You have to wait for 15 minutes after your COVID shot before you can leave. Okay, that's standard. What's not standard is that they only have one chair to wait in/at and it's in an aisle. I would much rather be out of the way, and not getting breathed on by everyone walking by. This aspect was poorly thought out. On the plus side, they did have a security guard near the entrance. What earns them three stars though, is that the pharmacy staff seemed competent. I wasn't concerned at all about the medical care that I received. read more

Grossly, grotesquely understaffed. Stay away. I thought it would help to make an appointment before going for vaccinations, but no. I arrived ten minutes early. Seven people were standing in line, and no one was staffing the check-in window. Customer service is obviously the management's last priority. I decided to pick up a prescription instead. There were only six people in that line, and one window was actually staffed. After only 20 minutes in line, I had my Rx and left. Instead of serving their customers at this branch, CVS is planning another branch at El Cajon/Park. I won't be going there, either. CVS won't be getting my business, except Rx, because my plan makes them cheaper at CVS. read more

I don't know what has happened to this CVS pharmacy, but I don't think that they any intention of adequately staffing it. There have also been times recently that I was told that my medication was ready and one time they "list it" after it was filled. It's regular business hours and I am calling into check on a prescription and I have been on hold for more than 45 minutes. Additionally, if it's a drive through pharmacy, please maintain it as such and keep the drive thru open during regular business hours. I have seen it close down in the middle of the day. Also., the waits in the drive thru line can be in excess of 30 minutes when there is only one car on front of you. It used to be be significantly better, but as with the phone call I have been on for almost an hour now, I wonder if it's ever going to get back to the way it was. read more

The worse!!! The company might as well snatch all the phones out the wall because no one answers the phone here!!!! Literally on hold for 30 minutes waiting patiently because I know that it gets busy because I worked at a pharmacy before. But then someone picks up the phone and places it back on hold! I refuse to go over there just for them not to answer my questions or resolve my issue effectively. My son needs a maintenance medication each month and for the past several months this pharmacy never has it in stock and states that "they have to order it!" I don't understand how you can have a patient that needs this medication each month and the pharmacy never has it. The solution I am provided with is to go all over the city to find it. How about pharmacy is your business!!! You want loyal customers and patients but instead of taking care of them and making sure you help to provide the best care for them you push things aside uncaringly with no follow up nor follow through. I was in need of some Q Tips and given I just had breakfast in the area, I stopped in here to see what they had. I could not find them, so I asked an employee where they were, and he directed me right to them. Funny thing is, I walked right by the first pass through the aisle. So I picked up two packs. They carry J&J and a CVS generic brand, but this deal came me more for my buck. Now I have supplies for a year. I used this pharmacy for a year & a half. Even when I moved out of the area, I still kept coming b/c I was treated so well by the staff. That ended once a new pharmacist was hired recently. He is HORRIBLE! He was such an ass to me & literally had me in tears. He made me feel like total shit. I will NEVER come back to this pharmacy!! I've moved all of my prescriptions to Walgreens now. The inside of this place is an absolute trainwreck. From the customers (most look like they've broken free from the state pen) to the layout, it's just a damn mess. Buuuuutttt... The best part about this CVS is that they have a drive-thru pharmacy window and a recent prescription had me stocked up and on my way without contact - love it. Besides them kicking out drugs from their side window, they also did offer (on a pre-recorded message as you drive up) that they'll also send out grocery essential through the window to comply with social distancing measures. This is consistently the worst pharmacy in existence. Long wait times, they never pick up the phone, and most of the pharmacy staff are miserable, sad people. Unfortunately, as many are, I am required to use CVS because of my insurance, so here I am. Today was absolutely shocking and the worst experience I have ever had at this store. I was on hold with the pharmacy for 32 minutes (no phone pickup to say "We'll be right with you," nothing), so I finally walked to the pharmacy. When it was my turn I went to the brown haired girl (whose name is apparently Kristin) and told her "I'm sorry, I'm not a mean person, but I was just on hold for 32 minutes and that's not okay." Her response: "Ok. What's your name?" NO apology, NO acknowledgment to what I said, it was as if I walked up and just said hi. The rest of our interaction was INCREDIBLY aggressive. Kristin asked me what prescription I was there for and shortly told me they could have it ready in 30 minutes. I asked her "What would the case be if I was disabled and couldn't walk to the pharmacy?" to which she replied "We're understaffed and doing our best," (again, no apology). Really, Kristin? Your best? Maybe you should work behind the scenes, then. I asked for a pharmacy manager and she told me there wasn't one available. Ended up speaking to the manager on duty at the front of the store who informed me that there IS in fact a floating manager on duty, so Kristin lied. I told the manager about her horrible behavior, and the manager was incredibly apologetic and kind. I believe her name was Jenn or Jennifer. She was the saving grace and took my information so the store manager could call me on their return. This gal Kristin should NOT be working in a customer service role. read more

Got there in 20 minutes they had 2 & sent me to Washington location. Cal d first. Sent me o drivethru I requested. They said no go to pharmacy counter, sign there and go to front of store for COVID tests, front of store sends me back to long line at counter. Counter sends me to "drop-off." Attempted to pick up my wife's prescription today, we could in the drive through lane about 3.50 pm, pulled up at 4.03 to see a CLOSED sign, apparently the car ahead of us was the last customer for the day, they close the drive thru at 4 pm, we could have gone it, but with Covid rates soaring and NO one wearing masks (as witnessed by the people going in), not worth the risk - in another world when people were nice, the pharmacist or pharmacy worker would have clearly seen our car as waiting next in line - SO VERY RUDE, WE ARE SENIORS AND DO NOT WANT TO GO INSIDE AND RISK COVID, it seems that no one cares about people anymore, I get CVS is a corporation and they only care about $$$$ - it would also be helpful if CVS posted their DRIVE THRU HOURS ON THEIR WEBSITE, I will never go here again!!!!!!!! read more

I gave 1 star and that is generous to say the least.... HORRIBLE PHARMACY!!!!! Inept, unprofessional, and UNACCEPTABLE They NEVER have the necessary stock of drugs that are needed. Furthermore, it took them TWO weeks to fill a blood pressure script that was on my chart as 'automatic refill'. I had to call the Corporate Office and I filed a complaint regarding the issue. DO NOT ORDER PHOTO PRINTS FROM HERE! I ordered photo prints multiple times from this CVS and every single time, they were not ready despite the emails I had received saying they were ready to be picked up. Not only were they not ready, neither the cashier or the manager even knew about the order so they had to reprint them. This is ridiculous considering I had paid for "same day" pickup and was now picking them up almost 37 hours later. The cashier claimed the email is automated - well change your system sir! Especially if you don't have the ability to provide the service! Not to mention these orders were needed asap for an event and now I had to come back to pick them up. Oh and it gets better! They still weren't able to find them when I came back on either order! My bad for giving them another chance but I will never order photos from here again. I understand we are all short staffed but if you can't provide the service as advertised, don't offer it. And then offer some sort of discount/etc when you mess up. Worst experience ever. I purchased over $113 dollars worth of items on 3/15/20. I approached a cashier today 5/7/20 to let her know I had some returns to process. She immediately and points to several signs, and even held one up for me, and rudely informs me that all sales were final, even though it says on the receipt I had until 5/14 to return the items. I explained to her that I purchased these items before that policy went into effect. She said it didn't matter and would still not be doing any refunds. No offer to speak to a manager just a "your out of luck" attitude from her. I also asked if once the pandemic passes if CVS would honor the returns at that time. She simply stated no. I can understand that if I had purchased these items under your new "All Sales Are Final No Refunds Policy", but I didn't. I wouldn't have purchased these items if that policy was in effect at the time. From my understanding it is not legal to sell items under one policy, change the policy after the sale, and hold the customer to the terms of the new policy. Upon contacting CVS corporate they informed me that as long as I had my receipt, once the pandemic had passed, I WOULD be allowed to return my items for a refund. This cashier needs to be better informed about the stores return policies and needs to learn better customer relations manners. Super rude. read more

Highly unorganized, incompetent, I have never picked up a medication without issues, a lot of mistakes and miss communication with doctors offices, text messages are sent saying meds are ready where they are not. There is always at least 6 employees behind the counter and I believe that they have no excuse to be a hot mess of a pharmacy. Staff always tries to help, even though they are tasked with unruly punks who come in saying " Wonder what I can take today?" I turn around and they have a smirk on their faces. I really wanted to talk with them and say no one is laughing. There's plenty of outdoor activities for them to partake, but I guess they wanted to amuse themselves and bother someone or the business. Is this necessary? Do the employees really need this hassle? I wish I knew how one has to approach and deal with these kids. Are they not stimulated and taught in school on how to act civilly in society? What makes them think this behavior should be tolerated? I give great credit to the CVS staff who keep their cool. The homeless outside this store do not bother the customers. Guess I should be thankful the kids weren't aggressive as others have been around the country. You get 1 Star for having a drivethru! The rest, you lose on customer service. Lisette and Nikita were the most unhelpful and rude employees I've EVER encountered. I've been going to this CVS for 10 years and will NEVER go AGAIN. My daughter was very sick and when I asked for them to call the doctor and change it to a generic prescription I was told NO. When I asked for the manager, lissette said no and the man get said to "come back in 30 min because she's about to go to lunch." Real classy employees who let a sick kid suffer sit in the car. My colleague and I stopped at this CVS because it was located across the street from Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest. She had a coupon to use for an item she needed, and as she was perusing the aisles, I perused the junk food. I picked up a candy bar for dessert, and she picked up her item. There was only 1 cashier present at the time a several people in line (after 5pm). I was busy, so we had to wait. The staff is friendly and fast. The store is a little dated and sometimes you see people off the streets roaming the aisles. This store is great for people watching. Pharmacist Kelvin here is a 10 Star gift to humanity! My patient's Medi-Cal insurance wouldn't cover any of his diabetic supplies and it would have been quite the hardship for him to pay the full out of pocket price. Kelvin patiently and thoroughly looked for solutions and was able to find ways to save my patient nearly $100. Thank you Kelvin! Of note, this is also one of my go-to pharmacies I send my patients to when other pharmacies are running low in medication supply or they need to pick something up late hours. read more

These reviews are so horrible, but what people need to understand is the amount of crazy homeless people who come in and they deal with this almost ALL day, they are also one the busiest drug stores in the area. The customer service in pharmacy is a hit or miss, but if you look at the amount of prescriptions that they fill and are ready, phones ringing non stop, drive thru is always busy too, just give them a break. I try not to take it personal if someone isn't the "friendliest". I find a previous post comical the pharmacist was making people say hi back, lol would you rather he be a jerk rude a-hole to you?? Some people... just get your prescription delivered if you hate their in person service, friendly or not friendly or takes too long, seriously .....haha. The cashiers that work the store have always been nice. My boyfriend and I live close by so we come here maybe once a week. They are busy, but friendly, they always say hello when you walk in. read more

A great place to get my medications and other needs I have. I am very satisfied with their pharmacy and their service and they always come through for me! The person who ordered my pharmacy needs for me remembered my name without me telling him, and I picked them up within 20 minutes of arrival. There were a lot of meds to pick up, and the pharmacist and cashier got all of them correct and bagged for me. First class service! read more

Overall, I never liked this pharmacy. You'll immediately notice a bunch of homeless walking around. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against homeless people, but the yelling, cursing, and unpredictable behavior...Secondly, this place has a bunch of stuff: it is crowded. Anyway, today's experience was uncomfortable. The cashier demands people to say hi back. LOL seems funny but it's impolite if you're telling people--women....what to do and how to do it..when one girl didn't say hi back he said, "excuse me!!!, hi? Hi??" Until they did, "there ya go!" He does the same thing to me and my girlfriend as we get to the the cash register, "y'all didn't say hi", then I said well I did. And he says, "nah, you didn't". You're telling me that I didn't say something when I did. Then he continues to go on and and tells us, "you're suppose to say it like you're happy and you mean it...," this and that--somewhere along these lines. Please don't tell people what to do. I have been getting my prescriptions filled here for years. The pharmacy staff was never very friendly, but they got the job done. Recently I had a prescription refilled and whoever was helping me was quite unfriendly. She proceeded to tell me, this is an expensive medication. I said how much is it going to be? She said $125. I informed her that it hadn't been that much in the past; that CVS had found coupons and applied them for me. She said I can go on rx saver.com and look for a coupon. Well, I did. I found one for CVS for $109. After further investigation, I found the same company offering a coupon to get the medication at Ralph's pharmacy for $35. I printed both coupons out and went back to CVS to pick up my prescription. I am not sure if I was dealing with a pharmacy manager (not that it matters)... I showed him the variance in price and he could've cared less. I said I would like my prescription back. He didn't offer any explanation or to do any sort of price match. Just did some typing on the computer and handed me the prescription back. Took it over to Ralph's in Hillcrest. Showed them the $35 coupon and that is what I paid. So beware that there is a big price range in these prescriptions. I had no idea or I would have been checking all along. In addition, this store always feels dirty inside. It really needs an overhaul. read more
