This review is dedicated to a lady who works in the pharmacy who manages to fuck up my prescription EVERY TIME I encounter her. Her name I do not know but she's always got really long acrylic nails. I come here once a month to pick up my birth control. I've called it in and went to pick it up and she says it's not here and to come back later. I come back later and there's 2 packs. She's asked me if I wanted the one pack or 6 pack, I say one pack. When I go to pick it up they try to give me the 6 packs. I'm always stuck waiting around over her mistakes. Rx's are sent to them and if prior auth needed or Rx is out of stock absolutely no efforts to purse getting back to the me or calling my MD to make us aware of the status. No communication !! Something has gone wrong at this store in recent months. The register staff seem entirely apathetic and barely acknowledge you when checking out. They don't even do shopping baskets anymore and expect you to hold everything in your arms as you walk through the store. The biggest transgression however is that the sidewalk is filled with trash and human excrement that they refuse to clean. When I asked about it the response was that they only clean the entrance area. Surely they should realize that customers don't want to be assaulted by the pungent stench of human filth when they walk along their store? This place is a dump. read more

Pains me to give one star, I'm from Massachusetts and we have a CVS on every corner, it's part of our culture(you know you're lost when you can see a DUNKIN Donuts or CVS). This location is unacceptable and should be replaced with something else. Homeless outside, not a problem, it's an urban area. Homeless inside asking for money or to buy an item they just stole, unacceptable. Meth heads passing out on the floor(his friend admitted he smoked, this isn't an assumption), again unacceptable. The line for the pharmacy is always exceptionally long, urban area afterall, pain killers are in high demand, LOL! It's a shame this location is what it is, I now travel a few blocks to the new Rite Aid or Walgreens a few streets away. Sorry CVS, you are now the gross pharmacy people stay away from. read more

I have had multiple experiences where my physician sends prescriptions to a pharmacy and when I get there, they are out of stock. Or, the prescription is called in to a pharmacy that closes before I get a chance to get there. THIS PHARMACY has saved me, multiple times, by having meds in stock and being able to either transfer a prescription over from another CVS or start a new one (I.e. of your original script was sent to Costco and it is a Sunday). No matter what time of day or night, the staff is always been helpful, friendly and empathetic. If you have a prescription that was processed by your insurance at a different pharmacy, no worries...Pay the cash price so you can get it quickly, then cancel the rx from that other pharmacy, and call this one to have your prescription processed correctly under your insurance and return to get the refund to reflect the price adjustment. It's not easy to be open 24 hours a day in an area where crazies loiter. But. I appreciate the sacrifices these employees make to be sure I can get my medications when I need them. This CVS is hard to park at, the employees are usually running around with their heads cut off. They seem slightly more expensive than others. And there's a considerable amount of homeless people that pander around there for change. Getting out of the parking lot is a hassle, cause it's a main street that's ALWAYS busy (and people don't let you into a lane). This review is for the pharmacy portion only: I usually do not like to write bad reviews, but I have been having issues with this pharmacy since I transferred my prescriptions here at the beginning of the year. I have just transferred my scripts to Rite Aid because I cannot deal with the inconvenience of this pharmacy any longer. I have used CVS in the past and have never had issues with them like I have had at this one. I get the same medication every month, and every month for the past 9 months they have messed it up, except once. I asked specifically for a note to be made in my record that I do not want the generic form of my medication because it does not control my symptoms as well as the brand name. The problem is not with the prescription my physician wrote, the problem is that the store does not always receive the brand name of the medication. I used to fill this script at another CVS and also at Walgreens and they never had a problem specially ordering it for me, but this CVS refuses to. One time they messed up my script and filled it at a different CVS that was closed at the time and told me their system was down so I would need to come back in the morning because they couldn't cancel it at the other store and run it through my insurance so if I wanted it that night I would of had to pay out of pocket. I have found myself multiple times running back and forth to this CVS because of their errors. On another occasion, my doctor had electronically sent over a prescription for a fairly common antibiotic. When I called to find out if my script was ready I was told by the pharmacist that they did not have it in stock and that I needed to call around to other CVS's to find out who had it. I replied by saying I thought that was part of his responsibility because he would be able to look up in the system and see which store carried it. His response was "ok I will just make everyone who is in line wait while I tend to your needs and put your needs first" with a very sarcastic and unprofessional tone. I tried to give this pharmacy a chance because it is the closest 24 CVS to my house and I work very long hours. I cannot take the stress of dealing with this pharmacy anymore nor the fact that they do not want to try to get me the proper medication. I have since gone to Rite Aid where they are much more accommodating and organized. read more

If I could give under one star, I wouldn't even be able to settle on negative stars. This place needs to be shut down, if only because they're giving customers brain aneurisms with the level of incompetence displayed here. The pharmacy was never particularly helpful, but my insurance in 2017 was awesome, so I never had much of an issue (other than it taking an obscenely long time to find my prescription in a basket...). Welp, my insurance changed in 2018. I'm already not entirely pleased by the shift, but when I showed up to pick up my birth control (usually $0.00) and they tell me it's $485 like it was the most normal thing in the world. Um. I'm sorry, did y'all run this through my insurance? "Um... let me see." YOU DON'T KNOW?! Turns out, they did. So I have a sit down with the pharmacist and he tells me what I need to do in order to get my insurance to cover it. In summary: Jump through a $hitload of hoops. Ok, challenge accepted. So I call my doctor and he sends in another prescription saying that it is a medical necessity that I get the brand name (and thus, insurance should cover it). I show up, it rings up as $0.00. A glimmer of hope rushes across my face, and I check "Is it the brand name?" The pharmacy tech says "It'd say generic if it was generic." Okay, cool. Fortunately, I'm 31 years old and know to check my hamburger to make sure McDonalds got my order right, so I'm not about to walk out of an incompetent CVS without checking. It's generic. And not just generic, it's the CVS brand. So I say "Excuse me, this is generic." "Is it?" IT IS THE CVS BRAND. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Enter extra hoops. I speak with the pharmacist again and they say they'll call my doctor and get this straightened out. Well, I've been here 20 minutes now just to learn that these people get paid more than I do and are worthless at their jobs--I need to get back to my job that pays less and doesn't affect people's health. They call less than a half hour later. We've got your prescription filled! "Is it the brand name?" "It's birth control, right?" YOU'RE ASKING ME THAT?! Aren't you a pharmacist?! You are legally allowed to dole out drugs to people?! What kind of effed up world are we in right now?! Suffice to say I went no further before calling my doctor and switching pharmacies. What a mix of reviews, some people say great things, some saw awful things... the truth is that its a matter of how you engage and what you need. I had a baby almost 4 months ago and discharged from the hospital on a Saturday late afternoon and the Target pharmacy already closed by the time my husband got there... so I switched to their 24 hour pharmacy and I know they are crazy busy and when I call I can wait on hold for quite some time... but the bottom line its 24/7 and as long as I can confirm my meds are filled before I go they also have a drive through I can use, which during COVID has made me feel MUCH safer than going inside. Just know to confirm meds are ready before you go, and if you can drive through, and I think they are great! read more

I goto this pharmacy because of its location and 24 hours. Certainly not for customer service. Every time I call the hold time is nearly 30 minutes or more. I am often told my prescription will be ready in 4 hours I go 8 hours later and it's not ready. I try to smile and be friendly to the staff and they just do not have it in them to be friendly. If management does not see how bad all these reviews are I will be forced to find another 24 Pharmacy nearby. There has to be someone that wants the business. They make you feel they are so busy they must not need any more customers. After writing the review in contact in the corporate office on Twitter I was contacted by the pharmacy regional manager. This pharmacy may be under staffed at the moment but they worked magic for me. I was out of town and my dr never refilled my request for a refill online so being without my BP meds for a few days my feet were swollen and my chest was tight. They gave me 3 pills to hold me over. Finally when I got my prescription filled, I called and asked about the window drive up (because I was positive for covid) and the manager said he would keep it open for me and if for some reason it was closed to just call and let them know I was there. He also filled my prescription quicker and added two covid tests along with all my meds. I have been a customer for many years and never had a bad experience but this time they went above and beyond even when they were understaffed. CVS on Washington street is a great store! The pharmacy staff is the best, very nice & caring. And efficient & effective The store is great too. They always have their shelves stocked & the staff are nice & caring. I asked store staff if they could walk me to my car, because I am on a walker & it was dark. A staff member did & I am forever grateful. A suggestion: they might need security guards from 10pm to 6am. Unfortunately, the homeless that hang outside is extremely annoying. They harassed me going into the store & upon exit. I did file a report with SDPD to help eradicate the problem. read more

This CVS sucks. I have been at all hours of the day and night. Even when no one else is there, it takes them FOREVER. There is always an issue..either they have only filled some of the RX I have called in, so I have to go back; they put my RX back too soon; the drive-thru was supposedly closed (at 1am) because the in-store line was massively long, but when I walked in, I was the only person there; their system is down; they are out of stock on an Rx and it will take 4 days to come in; or some other annoyance. The clientele is shady and the staff has horrible customer service. One of the tech's name tags said "Shorty"..very professional. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

So completely disgusted with this pharmacy! Prescriptions routinely screwed up and trying to get someone on the phone is an exercise in frustration. I've just been on the phone for nearly half an hour trying to follow up on a prescription they say has been delivered but never was. After 15 minutes on hold, someone picked up and then promptly disconnected the call. I called back and spent another 10 minutes on hold before I finally bailed. I've stuck with them because they have the only drive-through pharmacy window close to me, but I've spent up to 20 minutes sitting in that line as well. I'm DONE! This is my second review on this pharmacy (313 Washington St San Diego). I can't express the exceptional service I get here from the Pharmacy. David, Joshua and Joe are All-Stars and deserve to get reconsigned. Not only do they have above and beyond customer service but also provide the best service and make sure they get me everything I need. I've been coming to this pharmacy for years because I worked and lived close. Recently I moved farther away and now working in a different area and I refuse to change pharmacies. I don't want to lose this great pharmacy. I have and will continue to recommend this place to everyone. I almost left this store just now without purchasing anything because they made me feel so uncomfortable. I was walking around, and shopping during a break I was taking from work. I was looking for some good lipgloss, and so I was looking at all the makeup for a while. They offered me a basket, which I didn't take, because it always makes me spend more lol. I then had two different store employees asking me questions, and following me around for the rest of my shopping trip. They obviously thought I was stealing... when I've never stolen anything in my life! I inquired about it at the register, and he started talking about loss-prevention, blah blah blah, because I didn't take a basket. I told him that how they acted made me extremely uncomfortable, and that if they wanted me to take a basket, they should have told me why, and I would have taken it! I would have appreciated some communication instead of treating me like a criminal... I think they even called the cops, there was a cop waiting outside when I walked out! I will never come to this CVS again, I am a loyal customer, and no one deserves to be treated this way for absolutely no reason. I should have taken my business elsewhere, I'm mad at myself now for not doing so. No apologies or anything, just excuses, even when I reiterated how uncomfortable they made me. Oh, and to top it off, one of the cashiers sat there the whole time on the phone with some girl. If a customer asked him a question, or he needed to check someone out, he would put the phone down, hastily answer the customer, and then pick the phone back up, "Ugh, are you still there?? SO sorry about that." He acted like everyone was just annoying him, and all he wanted to do was get back to his phone call. This store's employees were some of the worst I've ever seen. I have witnessed a man walk in (clearly homeless) and "shop" and walk right out with a hand basket full of items. The news has been here a couple of times for robberies. I come to this pharmacy bc it's close & it's 24hrs but service at the pharmacy is hit & miss. I actually get ok service at drive-thru but God forbid I have to interact with these techs in person Today, I had to go inside to pick up some claritan in addition to pick up antibiotics for my sweetie & I. So I already feel like crap & this woman keeps giving me a hard time. She keeps forgetting that she's asked me the same questions over & over again , name & dob. Finally she rings me up & puts my purchase in 2 separate tiny brown bags. When she reaches for a third, I say I would prefer 1 plastic bag. She literally throws my items into the bag tearing a hole thru the bottom. She sighs & mutters something - excuse me! She finally repacks the bag making sure she smashes the one soft food item. CVS is not somewhere I normally shop but I had just had a ton of lemonade and being pregnant, it wasn't long before I was in need of the bathroom. I was walking around the area and stopped here to use the bathroom and pick up some cosmetics that I was in need of. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and I went to the make up while my husband walked around a bit. I was pretty excited because a Cover Girl eye shadow I like and the NYX eyeliner I like were there and they are harder to find. After I picked my eye liner out I was looking at the colors of eye shadows and my husband came back and then the greeter apparently could no longer trust us. We were fine separate but once my husband came, we were no longer fine. I am not exaggerating when I say in a matter of 5 minutes we were checked on 3 times by the same person. She knew we didn't need help and that we knew she existed, she did not need to stay on top of us. At one point I literally said out loud to my husband that if she checked on us again I was going to leave without making my purchase because they clearly don't trust me. I eventually was left alone for long enough to figure out which color eye shadow I wanted to buy and made my way to the register where I checked out (and paid an arm and a leg because this store is so dang expensive). After I paid I asked for the bathroom code and they told me they don't give it out and tried to get on with their day but that wasn't going to work for me so they escorted me to the bathroom at the back of the store that does not say staff only and is not in a back room for staff so why they can't give the code to a customer, I don't know. For them keeping it so locked up and inaccessible, it was blah. It smelled, didn't look very clean and wasn't well stocked. Overall, this store is a no thanks. I know I won't be back and if I am in the area and under similar circumstances, I will find somewhere else to go. I don't like going into a store as a customer and feeling like I am being harassed and then inconveniencing everyone for needing to use a public bathroom as a paying customer. read more

This cvs is lucky I live down the street or I would seriously pick another pharmacy. Everytime I need a refill on my prescription there's a problem. I'm a night shift nurse, so I get off at 7am. I always call days in advance to have my prescription ready on a day I work so I can just swing by right after work...sounds convenient right? No not this cvs. They always manage to tell me my prescription isn't ready or there out of stock or they can get me 3 months worth can I just wait...no! You guys should have figured all this stuff out days before I'm coming! That's why I call to refill days in advance!
