We have been going to this CVS forever, but now it seems we are going to have to find a new local pharmacy to get our prescriptions. We try and call the pharmacy and after waiting over an half an hour w/o them picking up at all. We finally give up! We need to find out status on a prescription my husband needs to start taking TODAY, so we need to find out when it will be filled. It seems if we show up to the pharmacy w/o calling to see if the prescription has been filled, they don't answer the phone, but if we show up to get prescription it hasn't been filled an have to wait 20 minutes or more before it's filled. Very frustrating!I'm guessing they don't want our business anymore. We enjoyed a couple of front counter people, but if you can't get any answers from them, what good is the front counter people?? I finally called the manager of the store, and when I asked her if there were people working in the pharmacy, and if so why aren't they answering the phone, he replied back very rudely, telling me she wasn't back there so she didn't know why they aren't answering. She put me on hold and never came back, so I hung up. We are currently searching for a new pharmacy where we can get questions answered when needed or talk to a manager who ACTUALLY cares about the store. We are very disappointed about the over all service we get from the store. I'd advise people NOT TO GO THERE for prescriptions, unless of course you want to be treated very badly! I do want to say, my husband finally went to CVS-only to find our favorite counter person, Mercie, working alone, with a long line of people. It's wonder she doesn't answer the phone, trying to handle the people in line and in the phone. So it seems, the problem is the lack of staffing of front counter people IN THE PHARMACY! By far the slowest place ever. I'd give zero stars if it was available. 3 days later and I am still 30 minutes in line. Why is every pharmacy employee here running around to process and collect. Here's your average local CVS with your average service and run-of-the-mill products. What's there to like or not like? I just ran in here to grab a drink and use the restroom - my experience? Not bad. Had to wait like 5 min for the guy to come over and unlock the door for me, but he was friendly so it was no biggie. Cashier was also pretty friendly and reminded me to scan my green bag tag to get my extra $1, so that's also a plus! I usually go to Walgreens or Safeway to get my prescriptions, but I was too lazy to drive that way and CVS is down the street from my house. I went in as a new patient and there was something wrong with my insurance. Charlotte had just walked in for work after a few other employees coudn't figure out why. Charlotte called about 4 places to get my insurance or to figure out why. I stood there for a good 45 minutes and she never gave up trying. After she got everything good to go, she had already processed my perscription! About 5 minutes later they were ready and I was on my way. Five stars for Charlotte because she didn't give up and kept trying until my insurance went though. Very nice lady. read more

This CVS pharmacy opens at 8am and is located on Capitol Expwy near Lucky Supermarket. Lots of parking out front. If you sign up for their free rewards cards, you can get coupons and cash back. This is a nice large store, with lots of light and stacked shelves Staff here is very helpful and you can pick up regular pharmacy items (cough suppressant, toiletries and has a nice photo department whereby you can upload items and pickup within a hour). I prefer CVS to Walgreens which seems cramped. They also carry other grocery items, chips, shampoo, etc but never have everything you need! 4 stars read more

Since I've been to this CVS I have purchased items and used their restroom. I went in today to buy some items but needed to use the restroom first, when I asked for the restroom code or for someone to open it for me I was told that I was not allowed to use it. Interesting. I've used it before, why the sudden change. The guy who I asked straight up said no. I'm quite unhappy with that and I hope this review helps others. Definitely not coming back. read more

This CVS is in much need up an upgrade. The store is very unwelcoming. The pharmacy seems understaffed and drop off and pick up in one line only causes too much delay. May switch back to CVS on Foxworthy and make the drive even though this one is just around the corner. read more

It's clean, service is quick, aisles clearly marked. Yet, most of the items aren't that great a price, unless you have coupons, or the CVS card. I went in for folders so Andrew can be a little organized kindergartner, but there was actually no folders, only binders and project covers. The night manager is so rude I recently moved to San Jose I been coming to this cvs every Monday to pay a bill , I recently noticed a different person I believe he's in charge he's Asian he is so rude to customers it almost seems like he hates his job. The way he responds to you with anger this is the second time His spoken to me this way. Argh.....this Long's!!! Ok - the store itself is pretty good, friendly people. The pharmacy though is the worst I have EVER dealt with. They constantly forget to fill orders and that is not an exaggeration. My husband has to get certain meds filled every month and there have been multiple times when they don't have his medication. I come to this CVS often times after work/weekend, and it is very clean and there are employees available for assistance. However, I just received a phone call from the pharmacy claiming that the insurance they have on file will not cover my prescription. I let the women on the phone know that that was in fact not my insurance and I actually didn't know how they got that on file. when I tried to explain that I am covered through work. She then asked about a "VIN" number for my work insurance. I've never heard of a "VIN" number for insurance, and I let her know I didn't have that but I had my group number and member number. She then got an attitude with me and told me that they wouldn't fill the prescription until I proved I had insurance. context: I've been trying to fill my prescription for over a year now, so understand my frustration, in being told that they won't fill it until I prove I had insurance, but I had left the hospital only 40 min prior to the call, where they verified my work insurance. I am very disappointed in this particular pharmacy staffer (Female). If she had just given me a little more info on where to find the VIN number I would have found it, instead, she was unhelpful and rude in her tone and very short with me over the phone. I told her that I didn't appreciate the attitude and got off the phone. This is a follow-up review of the Pharmacy department. After dealing with the pharmacist (or whomever) on the phone, about 4 hours later I received a phone call from an "Unknown" caller. When I picked up the phone I heard women say "BITCH" and hung up the phone..I have NO proof that this was the women I was speaking with previously, however, this incident was a little too coincidental in my opinion. They had access to my cell phone number and I almost NEVER receive phone calls during the day. read more

The worst customer service ever. Rude employees. One older lady tried to tell me I couldn't get a free makeup bag with purchase when the display clearly states FREE. She then asks the manager who was equally rude about it and he says he will make a substitution for me however I'm not asking him to do any favors for me I'm just asking him for what they're advertising they both made me feel like I was asking for something that doesn't exist. If I could give this CVS store 6 stars I would for one very good reason - her name is Merce. She is that bright shining star behind the counter in the pharmacy department. No matter if it's a slow day or the line is long, Merce always greets you with a smile, asks how you are and then the magic begins. Merce is thorough, thoughtful and most of all efficient. She takes her job seriously and always takes the time to work WITH you to make sure you leave the store with insightful knowledge about your insurance and bag in hand. It's not often that you find a person like this in retail, CVS, you have the real deal here, you are fortunate to have Merce as an asset. read more

BEWARE OF PREJUDICE PHARMACIST! I have gone to CVS pharmacy every month to fill my prescription. (Unless they were out of stock) I had a vacation (Business trip) planned for weeks. I had Cigna clear vaca, my Dr wrote early script, everything was set for me to leave when a new (INDIAN) PIC (Pharmacist In Charge) was working. She said she would fill script if it said "Ok to fill early" so wanted to speak to Dr. Dr said he would NEVER EVER CALL CVS BCUZ THEY MAKE HIS LIFE UNPLEASANT. He wrote me a new script that said "ok to fill early" when I brought it to her she said she refused to fill it. I told her she said it needed to say "ok to fill early" that my Dr refused to call. She reneged on original statement & only wanted to be difficult. She could have & should have filled it! I'm SO ANGRY! I missed 2 flights which caused me to miss selling my home in AZ. I felt like she knew my dr wouldn't speak to her so basically she was saying "I don't believe you're going on vaca & you're a drug addict" had I been from India I'd bet you $10,000 she would have filled it. The lady Cathy who has always treated me with respect, called my dr herself & answering serv told her Dr never calls pharmacy. Still PIC refused. I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! The $ I lost due to missed flights 2 days of vaca & time spent running from dr to pharmacy etc is UNACCEPTABLE WHEN INSURANCE & DR BOTH APPROVED VACA. Another pharmacy filled it no problem. Maybe I remind her of someone she didn't like in H.S? Who knows but I was DEFINITELY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST! No other reason to deny me service? NO OTHER REASON TO THINK OTHERWISE. read more

The first time I came in the store I was followed by staff. I assumed it was because I was on my phone trying to figure out what my friend needed. So I brushed it off. The second time I went there it happened again and I just left without purchasing anything since I was frustrated. The third and final time I went there there were several guests in the store but yet again the staff member continued to hover over me and watch me like a hawk. I made it clear to her that this continues to happen and for that reason I will NEVER shop there again even though it's within walking distance. Rented a vacuum cleaner that is $30, went home tried the vacuum and it didn't function at all. Plus we bought the detergent for the machine. We came back the cashier said we'd get a refund. WORST CVS EVER!!! Rude staff, incompetent and long wait. I've been getting my prescription here for almost 2 years until i finally transferred it to the branham location. I will never have another prescription filled here ever again!! They told me on two separate occasions that my insurance had decided to stop giving me my three month supply of birth control pills and they would only give me 1 months worth. So like an idiot I believed them until the next time they came back and they gave me my 3 month supply again with no mention of changes by my insurance company, WTF?? Clearly they must not have had enough in stock and just wanted to deter me from asking why they felt the need to lie. The last time I got my prescription filled they told me the same BS, that my prescription could not be filled for a three month supply. They then told me to come pick it up and when I arrived, lo and behold it wasn't ready. When I asked why they bothered to tell me over the phone it was ready after letting me drive there when it was not, their answer was lame - "oh the other girls aren't communicating with each other and they don't know what they're doing." Ummmm well wtf can they work on that?? I then came back the next day to pick up my prescription which was for only one month's worth of pills, and that day AFTER I picked up my prescription they repeatedly called me to let me know my prescription was ready. Well YEAH idiots I already picked it up!!! This continued for a week, constantly receiving calls that I needed to pick up my birth control even though I already had it. How annoying. I went to the Branham location and have had it filled for the 3 month supply, no problem, no wait, with friendly service...imagine! Thanks for doing everything possible to keep me from coming back, I definitely won't. read more

Generally you would not care too much about the service of a pharmacy store. I had to get the balloons for my daughters birthday filled with helium. I asked the clerk and she refused saying they cant do it so i said they can charge my full amount as if i bought the balloon from them. The clerk checked with the so called manager(i think her name is Jenifer )The clerk told her i want to speak to her and the manager in front of me was acting as if she was some hollywood star. She started off telling the clerk in front of me without looking at me "what is there to talk about" as though i was so desperate to talk to her. I told her she can charge me for full amount and she like an idiot insisted i need to use the baloon they have. Wow! This was my favorite store! So disappointed. I NEVER return anything in any store. I walked in to grab a pregnancy test and exchange a massage oil I didn't liked at all! Literally walked in, walked to grab a pregnancy test and walk to the register. She employee or manager because she wasn't wearing uniform. She was helping a girl with a return, super nice and customer left happy. I'm next, I said I need to return this for this GAVE HER MY RECEIPT. and she asked a few questions about the receipt, I answered I'm not sure because i didn't check the receipt but I knew it hadn't bought the item a long time ago. She said I need to go check the cameras and I said "cameras?" Like confused, like she is really accusing me of stealing right now. She's like "yea you're supposed to leave it up front" I'm like is there a sign that says that and she said it's common sense. I didn't think of anything when I walked in to that store besides walking to get the pregnancy test, return and checkout didn't take me not even a minute. Just wanted to let you know about a pharmacist technician at the CVS, 525 W Capitol Express way, San Jose, California. This person always has a smile on her face every time I visit this location. I visit this location at least 3 or 4 times a month, sometimes more. Merce always takes care of me. My wife has a lot of prescriptions fills during the month. Murcy, that's the name I have given her because she is so kind, thoughtful and concerned. She always ask how my wife is doing. She makes sure I am getting the best deal for my money. What I really like about Murcy, is she makes sure she puts all the correct information in the system and does her best to make sure we get any discounts that are available. I can say that she truly cares about her customers!! AWFUL experience in here every single time we try to use a CVS coupon. Just this past Sunday, my fiancé and I went in and loaded up our cart because he had a 30% Off Entire Purchase coupon. We get to the register, and told the cashier that we had this coupon and wanted to use it on this transaction. She says "ok," puts in his phone number, and begins ringing. She gave us our total, without the coupon. He asked to apply the coupon, and she says "Oh! You have a coupon?!" And went to the other screen to apply the coupons on his cvs card.... she said he didn't have that 30% off coupon. He showed her the coupon in his CVS app, which had his card attached. She called over the manager, who told us that there isn't anything they can do. We left our $100+ purchase at the register and went down to the CVS on Foxworthy. Guess what. We were able to use the coupon without any issues. The workers here are clearly incompetent. I'll just make the trip to Foxworthy from now on. read more

I came here yesterday having come from a terrible experience at the CVS across rom Santana Row. Charlie was right there to guide us through the photo kiosk experience and came over to help when ever needed! His customer skills are at the highest level of what one should expect but rarely do encounter these days! I will let his superiors know of this on Monday as well as people like him need to move up and quickly!! There was only one blemish within the store and that was finding the ladies room locked I went to look for help and accidentally stepped a few feet into the warehouse which is unmarked. A very unfriendly female immediately responded that customers are allowed there, whereupon I reminded her the restroom had not been locked on our first usage of the facility. A better way might have been "May I help you" and then kindly state that area is not allowed by customers. Or mark it with signage!! Charlie went the distance but we experienced also the same unsatisfactory response so typical these days. Um, I am thinking Charlie would make a great trainer as well! I've had it with this pharmacy... Medical offices submit prescriptions electronically and you get "oh, we haven't received anything" from this pharmacy's staff. After you ask them to check again they either cannot find your prescription or just discover that they actually have something in the system for you and tell you to come back in 20 min... No apologies... Today, I had to ask my doctor to phone the prescription at 4:30 pm because this pharmacy could not find the one that was submitted at 11 am electronically. I asked the staff to text me (standard service offered by CVS) and had been waiting until 7 pm with no text. When I called I was told that if I stopped by, they would have it ready(!!!) And again no apologies... A simple "sorry, we were overloaded and understaffed today" would do the trick... read more
