This is by far the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I've never had such incompetent behavior so rampant in such a crucial field of health care. Where to even start.... 1.) I would say 80% of the time I've ordered a prescription, they've either ordered the wrong one, or the wrong amount, or the wrong refills, or will not have actually ordered it at all. It became such a problem, that I would have to physically go in, talk them through the order, make them repeat back every specific (medicine, amount, dosage) and sit there and wait until they'd faxed my doctor. Even after I enacted that policy, they STILL got everything wrong most of the time. 2.)Calling them on the phone or relying on their CVS texting service was an absolute joke. I'd called dozens of times to ask them to fax my doctor, only to have my doctor tell me that they'd never faxed him when they said they did. 3.)Almost every time I went in there, they treated me like a drug-addicted criminal. I have serious health issues that require a strict regiment of medicine. I understand that prescription abuse is at an all time high, and that they must get skeezy junkies trying to pass off fake scripts or whatever, but when you go in there every few weeks for ALMOST 2 YEARS WITH REAL PRESCRIPTIONS FOR THE SAME MEDICINE EVERY TIME AND SPECIFIC DOCTOR'S ORDERS, that they'd maybe relax a little, or at least keep a pleasant attitude. Nope. Hardly Ever. I was subject to intense scrutiny, and asked very personal questions every single time I went in, sometimes even questioning if I needed the medicine. Yes, you heard me right. They would actually ask me how many pills I had left, specifically, and ask if I actually needed the prescription, or question me if I was taking too much, or abusing it. My Doctor told me he would get bombarded with calls (during patient appointments) every so often when I'd try and bring in a new handwritten prescription. Once or twice, they actually refused to fill the prescription because they said they "weren't allowed to", despite having an ACTUAL medical professional telling them it was ok. Because you know, they passed a semester of community college courses to become a lab tech, and my psychiatrist only has a Doctorate of Medicine from a Private Ivy League school. So they definitely know better than him (I hope my sarcasm can come across here). Finally, I'd just like to add a note here: not every worker who was employed there was bad. Just every single one, except one person: Sam. He never subjected me to (borderline-illegal) questioning, was friendly as can be, helpful, never once messed up an order, ACTUALLY faxed things when I'd ask, and always had pleasant conversation. I remember them being swamped once, and I came in with a new prescription. They quoted me for like 45 minutes, and Sam personally had it ready in just under 20, with a dozen angry customers in line, and a smile on his damn face. Like a professional. Like an actual caring human being. What a concept. Take note, fellow pharmacy workers. The worst part of this, though, is that there is a huge stigma concerning mental health in the world right now. People with mental health issues are quite usually treated like crap, once people know what their condition is. I don't really blame them, because us "crazy" people haven't had a great track record. But we've collectively come a long way, and there's been a Renaissance, of sorts, concerning people finally figuring out what was wrong with them, and getting the proper health care they need. This is why I must stress this final issue: they're not helping any of that. If anything, they're setting it back. Human beings have a hard enough time finding a doctor. They have an even harder time opening up to the terrifying experiences they've had, and admitting their deepest insecurities and issues. An even harder thing (as anyone who's dealt with these issues can tell you) is beginning a pharmaceutical regiment. It's scary, and your brain goes through some pretty weird changes, and it's a very unpleasant experience. It's downright terrifying at times, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. When you add all that up, and then take a look at the complete incompetence this pharmacy has, it's really no wonder that people constantly fall off their path. Because morons like the pharmacists at this place make an already unpleasant process EVEN MORE difficult. It would not surprise me one bit if there's been people they've been responsible for, having serious health issues, or even dying. That might sound like an exaggeration, but it's really not that far of a conclusion to jump to. People with problems need real, honest to goodness help. And this pharmacy is the opposite of that. They are a major roadblock, and they are messing with people's lives and futures. I have lost sleep, and had problems because of them. And I really hope they read this, because you need to think about what you're doing to people. Absolutely shameful. read more

I won't be shopping here again. "Bobbie" the cashier must have been having a bad day. No one else in line and I had 2 lottery tickets that I did not know if they were winners. I don't play scratch offs and didn't know that I had to check them myself (crossword ones) at the machine before I gave them to the cashier to know if they were winners or not. When I asked "Bobbie" what I needed to do she said scratch off the bar and check them at the machine. What bar? I looked and didn't know what she was talking about. I asked her where do I need to scratch off to check and "Bobbie" barked at me "How should I know?" "I don't play the tickets" Granted she probably doesn't but she has to cash them in right? She was just too lazy to check. Now maybe CVS doesn't make money on the tickets. But they do make money on the purchases myself and my husband make. I spend a lot of money here, but no more. Target and Walgreens are just as convenient and close to me. "Bobbie" should be told that there is no reason to be rude to a customer. No matter what purchase or service they are using. Here is all you need to know about the pharmacy. Yesterday I went in to get a prescription filled. An unfriendly technician with the last name of Shui (first name purposely omitted) took my prescription. First she said I did not have a CVS card and that she would have to construct a profile. I explained that she should try the telephone number I provided again. She did so reluctantly and of course my profile was indeed in the system. What happened next was scary: As she was placing information relative to my prescription in the system she took four or five long pauses to send text messages. I was not amused and said "Are you entering information into the system electronically via your cell phone?" I guess she got the hint and stopped. I gave her my "if you weren't a girl I would break my foot off in your narrow butt look." I would be surprised if the people around her did not have a talk with her after I left. Needed to get 2 prescriptions filled for my Dad who just had surgery. Was asked if I could pick it up in 1-1/2 hour. Umm, no. He just had surgery and needed the medication ASAP. Should have known better, this particular CVS is always short staffed. Drove to the CVS at Target at Bridgepointe. They had it ready in 10 minutes. read more

These people have no clue. they don't care about your business. I only go here because I live a block away. In the last 4 times to pick up drugs they have never been ready. I give them 4 to 7 hours. They always say, "Oh, we just got it". read more

This is the second time I have left this place without buying the items I wanted. Today it was all about " 75% off regular price" stickers on selected close out cosmetics. I chose only items with the stickers on them, not just posted on the wall. Checkout clerk charged me full price. When I pointed to the actual 75% off sticker on the item, he went off to stare at the wall, then came back to make up a story about a coupon that would appear on the end of the receipt -- Still not 75% off, and definitely not as advertised. Not a manager in sight, even though it was mid afternoon on a weekday. CVS has so many gimmicky strings attached to their specials, it's not surprising their own staff doesn't know their own deals. But I'm just giving up on this place, too bad. read more

This pharmacy is conveniently located and I would like to continue to use it. But the problems I encounter every time I need a refill has made me decide to change to another location. I started thinking that the personnel had something against me personally and on purpose messed with the prescriptions but reading other reviews it seems a quite common problem that things don't go as they should. I'm a diabetic and I have ten prescriptions to fill every month, and no health insurance. I love the CVS on Washington avenue in my hometown of Kingston, NY and it's easiest for me to pick up prescriptions at CVS when. I'm away from home. that's why I went to the CVS here in CA. NEVER AGAIN. Twice (Sunday and Tuesday)I called in prescription refills--twice their information system sent me texts that my refills were ready--twice the guy at the pharmacy politely told me that some of my scripts were not available. He was perfectly nice about it, but when I need insulin at a certain time, I can't be nice when I'm asked to wait for two extra days. CVS, you must hire more people for this location and you must train all the staff better. will your insurance cover your involvement in my unlawful death? read more

This cvs is ok but some of the cashier sucks!!!!especially a cashier named Training. Omg she tried to take away my extra bucks even the system denied she was not willing to give it back to me. Until the manager came and told her to return the extrabucks to me. She returned with such reluctant look like she was taking the money out of her own pocket. And when i came home I found she scanned one of the products two times! I had to go back and told the manager to return the money. Horrible experience at cvs ever ! read more

I have been going to this CVS Pharmacy location for over 3 years until my family and I a moved to a different part of the peninsula six months ago. The staff is courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. They answer all of my questions without eve making me feel rushed. When another CVS location could not handle an otherwise routine prescription earlier today, I asked them to call this location. Not only did this San Mateo CVS Pharmacy have the medicine in stock but I was able to pick it up less than half an hour later without further issue. read more

Not too long ago I came into CVS and first thing when I entered the store they asked me to leave my bag at the door, for me being an African American I found it highly disrespectful and discriminating. There was another lady with her bag and she didn't get asked to leave it in the front. When I asked the man why, he said "it's store policy". read more

The pharmacy here isn't slow, it's actually pretty good. I can't assess the rest of the store because I only used the pharmacy.

CVS has implemented a new policies to prevent their customers from using 'too many' coupons and using the 20% discount coupons that are emailed now no longer apply to sale items. Either that or the cashier and the manager at the Delaware store are too stupid to understand the new policy. I tried to by 9 bags of Halloween candy with 4 coupons from the Sunday paper ($1.00 for 2 bags and $1.50 for 3 bags) and 1 issued by CVS ($1.00 on 2 bags). The cashier said the register said that's too many coupons. The manager was useless, 'yeah', it says too many coupons. You can buy the items without the remaining coupons or delete the entire transaction and ring it up under two or three transactions. What a pair of idiots, Safeway is right next door. Do NOT waste your time and money at this store or any CVS stores. There are way too many stores that are customer friendly, take legitimate coupons (it's money to them) and still appreciate your business. This store has their heads up their ass. I over-heard a customer ask if she could use a $10.00 extrabucks rewards that just expired. The assistant manager told her she'd have to wait till the manager came back from vacation in a week to ask him if he is willing to accept the CVS coupon. A cashier at the Burlingame store tells customers that CVS accepts the extrabucks rewards coupons for up to a week past the expiration date. It's their coupons and you essentially over-paid money for a product(s) to receive these coupons. Nothing like putting it one someone else to make exceptions when you don't want to or can't do your job as an assistant manager while the manager is on vacation. Do NOT spend your time or money at the CVS on Delaware. I would give it zero stars if I could. read more

Now that CVS took it over, the service is so bad they don't even care about their customers. They got rid of all Long's employees that knew your name and greeted you by your name. The front of the store is unorganized, you would not know where the line begins or ends. We are not returning for our refills. Go to your local Walgreens or Costco to fill you prescriptions. read more

How many times have I come to this store to purchase an over-the-counter drug (e.g., Claratin) only to find a huge empty space where the product is supposed to be! I come back a few days later, and they STILL haven't restocked. And, as if that wasn't bad enough, I finally decided to say something to the manager. What I got in response can be best summed up as "the customer is always WRONG." I will avoid this place whenever possible. read more

I do not like to see any business failing, but this one has for a long long time. The entire store, the poor workers and the awful "Manager". A business reflects on leadership, and this one is sure lacking that big time. Not sure if the merge with Long's drugs help the decline in sales and service, but I'm hoping that maybe with Target buying some of the pharmacy's, it's hope that at leas the Pharmacy part of these crappy chains will survive. This store has to go along with "management". I have many nasty dealings with this store, but this last one was the last straw. We purchased a 2 Amazon gift cards with an Amex, they activated one but not the other, when we came to talk to the manager Dan Aguilar, he first told my co-worker, you need to tell me what date, what time and what register you purchase this in order for me to help you. He was rude, nasty and in a hurry to leave the store. I came in the next day, he was called on his cell phone by a worker, I spoke with him and he was arrogant, rude, mean and when I asked for his supervisors name, he gave me bogus name. I called the Corporate Headquarters and they told me that Scott was actually the manager and that he would call me within 48 hours. Well it has been 144 hours, never heard back from any one at all. I guess "Customer Service" does not exist with these employees'. WOW!!!!!!!! It just showed that they don't care!!!!!!! I will continue to shop at Walgreens and spread the news to everyone I know, CVS so called managers, you are getting a free paycheck and you are contributing to the decline of these stores. Found out after picking up two of my 90-day prescriptions that they were short in the amount of pills on one of my two prescription medicines. I did not notice the shortage until over a month later when it appeared one of the bottles had less pills than the other. I took both bottles to them tonight and the pharmicist told me that I should have brought it back sooner. I told her I don't count the pills when I pick them up (they should count the pills correctly since they're the experts). After some checking, she counted the days passed since the day I picked up the pills and added "most" of the shortage to my bottle. There was still a difference between both bottles even though I asked if both bottles now had the same amount of pills and she replied "yes". When I left, there was no apology given and she advised me to have them count the pills when I pick up my refills in the future. Why does that have to be done? Are they that error prone in counting the correct number of pills when it is filled? I am considering changing to another CVS location or go to Walgreens. Bad service and attitude. Even my wife experienced the same. read more
