Came here for an early dinner and was so pleasantly surprised. Very average looking dining room was clean and roomy. The dishes are anything but average. The lobster ravioli was fresh and full of seafood, with creamy sauce. The meatloaf was amazing. The staff was super nice and helpful. Will absolutely be back!

I met my former soldier here to catch up with him & his family. He chose the place. It was a small, cozy family spot. Upon entry I was greeted and seated immediately. Ordered drinks immediately. I didn't order anything until everyone arrived, however, the waitress was very attentive. Especially, after I clumsily spilled sweet tea everywhere. lol. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was very well seasoned and delicious. I ordered the lobster ravioli which was good, however, the asparagus were tiny. I ordered a cucumber margarita which was very refreshing & spicy with the cayenne pepper. Overall, I would give this place another try.

Honey Dijon Chicken Sandwich $13.50. Too much cheese on brussel sprout casserole side

Cute place inside but extremely SLOW service on Wednesday 3/11 @ 12:30pm. The lettuce in the chicken sandwich was black. The kitchen staff should be more diligent in NOT serving that. It was obviously old and not fresh. The cheeseburger was ok. The loaded potato wedges appetizer $8.50 was the best part of the entire meal. But we won't be going back here.

Crab cakes w/ pasta salad and hush puppies

Everything I tried was good, the bourbon shrimp, the crab cakes, and all the sides. The hush puppies were very good.

We called to say we were showing up in 5-20 minutes with 11 people on a Friday night.....and they seated us right away. In the window, with a view of the water. We also thought we were going to the Cyprus GREEK Grill. So imagine our surprise when there were no gyros or hummus. Luckily they have a great menu and we all found amazing food to eat. I had lobster ravioli and it was delicious. The ravioli were nicely stuffed and the sauce was tasty but not too heavy like some Alfredo's can be. Salads were great and we all collectively recommend Parmesan peppercorn ranch.

Oh my yum! Super cute place at an amazing location, just across from public parking and water view. Walked in and greeted warmly, seated immediately. The staff knows gluten free options and was happy to help. BTW a ton is gluten free!! Spinach artichoke dip was heaven-not too heavy, ideally seasoned and an array of fresh veggies tk dip!! Yellow fin tuna - seriously not sure last time I've had such delicious, tender and flavorful tuna!! Light sear, raw yum!! Huge portions, amazing prices, delicious food, and terrific service!! Can't ask for better :)

I wanted to see the Museum of the Albemarle and I wasn't expecting any culinary majesty while visiting Elizabeth City. I WAS WRONG! The food at the Cypress Creek Grill is at least a six! There is a chef back there! Linda and I were late for lunch and early for dinner, so oft times one doesn't expect too much. Let me tell you, Linda's Sea Scallops were sensational, and my New Orleans Barbequed Shrimp was prime delish. The homemade yeast rolls were superb as dipsters in the tangy sauce for the shrimp. The salads were fresh and zesty, and the clam chowder, you must try! Peyton was the best server but everyone was so very friendly and courteous, all a credit to the GM, Chelsea. Not that familiar with Elizabeth City, we could see the water from this nice eatery, but the service and the food was exemplary.

Ya know something... this is one of those crazy cases where it's not the food that won the 5 stars! First of all, it's a very nice ambiance. It's a smaller place that feels deceptively big. It's like a diner but actually quite narrow, and you don't realize that the whole back is the kitchen area until you go to the restrooms back there. But it's very nice inside. It was crowded with senior prom participants when I went, but I found my friends' table in front. And then over came the waitress. Chelsea (not sure how she spells it, but let's go there) was PHENOMENAL. She served all of us, answered all of our questions, talked about items selling out or close (like limoncello and calamari went to all the high schoolers that day), talked about favorites etc. Absolute gem of a waitress and we all loved having her there. And the owner came over to say hi at the end! And we all talked about Chelsea to him too! So that's where a lot of the 5 stars comes from here! The food is nice. It really is. The portions are just a bit small for what you pay, and I think that's tied to this place trying to feel nice. The summer succotash special felt a bit overpriced for the amount of food inside, as much as I love to have scallops and fiddleheads (and bits of crab meat, not as much as I thought). The soups were kinda small. Everyone finished their dishes, which honestly is rare in my experience in most places. I hate to use the word overpriced, especially because the waitress deserves nice pay and a great tip! She did say the blueberry cobbler special was quite a bit larger than the pecan pie I was eyeing, and boy there was plenty there, so yes! That one panned out! So maybe you have to decide on quantity vs. quality when you order? That's all I've got. There's a nice view of the river, there are nice people, there's a nice restaurant, so go have fun when you visit E.C.! Just have your last month's salary ready. Kidding! Not THAT bad! You'll have fun.

Always a good spot to grab lunch. Good prices and great food. Haven't been for dinner but lunch is laid back and mellow most times. Our server was friendly and made sure we were taken care of.

Petite order of grilled shrimp with coleslaw and fries.

Was recommended by a a local friend and was not disappointed. Great food! Bacon wrapped scallops were delish! Service was very attentive and pleasant wait staff. Nice downtown restaurant with a view of the water across the street. I will return when in town.

We always get the same order, well I do at least because I absolutely love their chicken salad, I always ask for extra. I do love their fries over their sweet potato fries. I just feel like their sweet potato fries could be crispier. Their grilled cheese, burgers, salads, and everything else we have tried have been good. I can't remember a bad meal here. Service is good but they are busy, so sometimes I feel like staff can be short. Our server was a young gentlemen this time and he was very kind, thorough, and checked in on us the appropriate amount of times. The establishment itself is very farmhouse pub vibes, they offer single room bathrooms for men and women and they're always clean. They also have outdoor seating for those nice warmer days. This place stays packed for a reason.

Service was fine but waitress kept calling us "sweetheart" and "sweetie pie" and "honey" which got super annoying after the first 10 times. The coconut shrimp was okay. I don't think I'd order again. A bit too crispy. The chicken salad and fries were really good. The chicken and waffles were chicken strips, not a breast, not what you'd expect in the south. Also, the chicken and waffles didn't come out until the rest of the table was almost done eating. Honestly a waffle and chicken fingers should not take that long to cook. The place was cute but overall just okay. I'd try again but I wouldn't say rush tomorrow. 3.8/5

We almost always prefer to support local restaurants when we travel, but with our options limited, we decided to give this place a try. I'll admit our expectations weren't especially high, but the food pleasantly surprised us. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly and were flavorful, and everything we ordered was enjoyable with the exception of the sweet tea, which missed the mark. Unfortunately, the service was a completely different story. Our server, Kierstin, seemed either to be having an exceptionally bad night or simply wasn't suited for a customer-facing role. She was inattentive, unfriendly, and provided one of the poorest dining experiences we've had in quite some time. At one point, I ordered an amaretto sour and was told they were unable to make it, which was surprising given that they appeared to have a fully stocked bar. It left me wondering whether she had even checked with the bartenders. If I were rating the food alone, it would easily earn a 4 out of 5. The service, however, was a 1 out of 5, which brings my overall rating down to a 3. I don't usually mention employees by name in reviews, but in this case I hope management takes it as constructive feedback. With a little coaching--or by reevaluating whether she's in the right position--future guests could have a much better experience because the kitchen is clearly doing its part. To those about to nosh, we salute you! If you end up with a better server than we did, you'll likely enjoy a very solid meal.

The customer service, however, definitely needs some work. We were returning from a busy afternoon in Virginia Beach and decided it would be great to pick up dinner early. We placed an online order and was given a pickup time of 4:34pm. We arrived around 4:30 and the website said the food wasn't ready and to wait in the car. After watching a handful of other folks get out of their cars and return with food, one of us decided to try the same. Long story short, our food wasn't ready until after 5:00pm. Now for the good part--the food! We ordered the family tenders with a house salad, green beans, steak fries, and rolls. The tenders were well cooked and had a seasoned breading. Personally, I was impressed with the green beans, which had been prepared with bacon and onions, and were absolutely delicious. Steak fries and salad were great, and can anyone go wrong with those rolls? All in all, I'd absolutely order here again. I'd just allot some extra time for waiting for my food.
