I just said goodbye to a great dentist because he just retired. So I tried this dentistry and I am back in search of a new dentist. This office has a great atmosphere but they could improve in their relationship with the patient. They wanted to have me do a laser treatment I was not comfortable doing and it was basically an "all or nothing" scenario I was forced into. No laser, no cleaning. So I wasted my valuable time today (I am a first-time-mother) at this office. I asked if I could opt not to do this laser treatment and was told no. I was also told that 99 percent of patients do not turn this treatment down, as if to say something was wrong with me in doing this. I was also corrected in my form of speech. Just the worst possible experience. I am I search of a new dentist now. And this dentistry really should inform patients that they REQUIRE this laser treatment (which comes with a fee not covered by insurance) before the patient comes in and wastes their time. Also, the dentist saw I had a Disney bag and began to criticize Disney heavily. Great way to relate to your patients and build a relationship. I would have preferred he switched subjects. This review is being written based on my experience with Cypress Smiles Dentistry using a Dental DMO. I don't enjoy writing negative or neutral reviews; however, I will write them when I think the review could benefit the business or a potential customer. As a business owner, I would want to know if certain business practices turn customers away. And as a customer, I would like to know what unusual fees to expect on a basic cleaning before deciding to switch dentists. We switched to CSD earlier this year, just when the pandemic started. I recently tried to schedule our first six-month basic cleaning and was told that my insurance did not cover a $160 mandatory procedure as part of the basic cleaning (laser treatment of some kind). I didn't want this extra service, but I was told this was non-negotiable. That struck me as odd since we never encountered this at our previous dentist during the 10 years we visited them, who are also based in Orange County. There was no attempt to retain our business, or work with us, which was disappointing. In fact, had I been told this information when we were looking at switching providers, I would have chosen a different dentist's office entirely. Needless to say, we are going elsewhere. On a positive note, our kids were able to be seen, get their teeth cleaned, and reported having an enjoyable experience. read more

Never thought that I'd ever say I don't have anxiety going in for a dental appointment. These folks have changed that. Had Dr. Kang do my inspection and cleaning today and she was wonderful. She's a gentle woman with delicate hands as I felt no pain at any time. Many prior dentists seem to not pay attention to how much collateral pain goes on during cleaning. No smashed lips from pressing down too hard on them while cleaning, no sore jaw from opening too wide for a male dentist with big fingers, and much better attention to the amount of suction to be done to prevent excess drool and gagging.. They use very modern hi tech cleaning electronics and tools, and explain everything very clearly. Highly recommend!! read more

I am way overdue for my review. Every time I come in for my 6 month cleaning all the staff Dora, Alex,Gali, make my visit very welcoming. Found this place by calling 1800Dentist askin for a place open right away for excruciating tooth pain. got in right away, took xrays, tooth got extracted. I don't have insurance so I paid cash and it was alot cheaper than I expected. I was in & out in 90min. Dr. Kang called me on Saturday to personally check to see how I was feeling. From the greeting you receive from the front desk, to the assistants and hygienist to the Dentist himself, everyone here is amazing. I waited years to come to the dentist out of fear and past bad experiences. But this office made me and my son feel completely comfortable from the moment we first walked in. They're professional yet personable and fun. Lots of laughter every time we come. They also are great about breaking down how much things will cost and what all your payment options are. AVOID!! If getting your teeth cleaned here. They only have one procedure and part of it is NOT covered by ur preventive yearly care. They dont tell you this until you show up for for ur appointment and then tell you how much you owe. WHAT? The cost should be told to you when you make the appointment not when you show up for the appointment. If there is only one procedure you should be told that. I called and was told I could go right in even though it was late in the day. A convenient location, very clean office with friendly staff. Seems I need clearance from one of my doctors because of my medications, but the dentist office will handle that for me. Luckily I have no pain or discomfort so I can afford to wait a bit. I split a tooth last summer so it was my first dentist visit in my life ever. I was very nervous on the first day, but the staff was very friendly and professional to answer all my questions about each step of the process, which helped me calm down greatly. Dora and Anna would always greet you with their cheerfulness to make you feel right at home on any visits, and they're very flexible when setting up future appointments to fit into your schedule. Alex/Jen/Gali are doing great with answering any questions you may have on any procedures and calling you on the next day of any visit to check up on you. Doctor Tuan Nguyen and Bo Kang are very experienced and patient dentists who make any procedures as simple and painless as possible. Tip: Make sure you have the office verify your insurance and coverage BEFORE sitting down on a chair. Due to their laser bacterial elimination procedure that is the "standard of care" in their practice, with my United Health Care DHMO, A ROUTINE CLEANING was still $150 out of pocket! All I wanted was a simple scaling and polishing. I had to decline and find another dentist. At least I received X-rays and reassurance of no cavities. Otherwise office was clean and staff was friendly. Worth a try, just have office verify your out of pocket costs first! read more
