My experience at Stanton Dental was completely ruined by the woman who went over my treatment plan I believe her name was Trini. I came in because I was having tooth pain, and I was also supposed to have a cleaning but after dealing with her, I wanted to leave immediately. I was completely done with the place and decided I would rather find a new dentist. I explained that I had lost Medi-Cal a while ago because of income related eligibility issues and now had different insurance. I repeatedly told her that I am a low income mom and there was no way I could afford the large treatment bill right now. Her response was that I should have stayed with Medi-Cal because the treatment would have been free, as though that had been my choice. Instead of respecting that, she kept pushing me to open a credit account, discuss financing, ask a husband or partner, or somehow figure out how to pay for it on the spot. She repeatedly told me she did not want my tooth to fall out. After I had already said several times that I could not afford the treatment, I finally said, "Then it falls out." The entire conversation became an unnecessary back-and-forth because she would not accept "not right now" as an answer. It took a lot for me to mentally prepare myself to go to the dentist and this interaction made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing. My son heard the whole conversation and even said afterward that she was rude to me. Please train your staff to treat patients with more patience and compassion. Staff should not be aggressive/cutthroat when discussing treatment with someone who is clearly saying they cannot afford it. Pressuring a patient to open credit or find someone else to pay is inappropriate. I will not be returning. read more

I really really wanted this to be the dentist that I primarily go to, but my dentist trauma continues. After my initial visit, I had a cleaning scheduled for August 2024, but they made me wait an hour past my appointment time... only for them to tell me it will be a longer wait. What a waste of my time! I end up rescheduling to November 2024. I was able to get my regular cleaning done November 2024, but it was recommended that I get a deep cleaning done ASAP. I freaked out and scheduled a deep cleaning for January 2025. January 2025, I came in for my deep cleaning and they tell me they have to do all my x-rays. I end up having a panic attack because Michele, who was doing my x-ray, hit the back of my throat when she put the x-ray inside my mouth and I began to choke and cough. She would leave for 10-15 minutes at a time and left me with the weighted x-ray chest on me which made me feel like I was suffocating. I expressed my extreme teeth sensitivity, but that was disregarded during the cleaning. It turns out they did a regular cleaning, but still tried to charge me a ridiculous amount for deep cleaning. I was shocked... why try and charge me for a service I didn't receive? Michele did the polishing after and it got all over my eyes and forehead. The floss also broke apart and kept getting stuck in my teeth. It was an overall terrible experience. I kept wanting to give this place a chance, but my hopes were too high. I did enjoy my experience with Dr. Day as he made me feel at ease. Jackie, the receptionist was also sweet. read more

I had a small cavity filled and five or six sites of resin filling on worn-down enamels. Dr. Li is very skillful and gentle. She did a great job, from numbing to the end results of smoothing out the high points. Trini, the front desk clerk is very friendly. We shared some good travel experiences! I've been to a handful of dentists in my years, so I feel comfortable in saying this clinic stands tall among the rest. The level of care you receive here is stellar. Jessica in the front office is so thorough and very welcoming. She takes time to know the patients and makes the initial interaction meaningful. Olivia in the back made the X-rays go smoothly and she was really kind! We had a great conversation while she got me ready to see the doctor. Dr. Day is one of those doctors that you never want retire. He is quite the professional in terms of his standard and quality of care, but he is also very calming and has quite the sense of humor. He even mentioned to me that he'll tease patients, but never about their teeth. Dr. Day and Olivia made a great team and my cleaning was top notch. Walked away smiling from ear to ear, blinding unsuspecting citizens with my pearly whites. All in all, this clinic is worth establishing care at. I have been going here several years . Recently alot of work done . Jessica a blessing she's a fighter had a slight issue with my credit app and bite plate that was made . I heard her on the phone fighting for me . She took the bite plate to the makers on her lunch hour so didn't have to go without teeth . This practice came to me as a recommendation and it turned out to be great advice. Though a small practice (my preference) they are BIG on customer service. As a new patient the paperwork was minimal and easy to complete. The staff are friendly, caring and very easy to talk to. No surprises regarding any procedure and they explain things in laymen's term, not "dentist speak". I've had a tooth abscess, tooth extraction and a temporary bridge thus far. Prices were very reasonable. I had a wonderful experience today at this dental office. I must say, his staff is the most friendliest group of professional I have come across in a long time. They make you feel comfortably and at ease. Tonia, the office manager is so helpful. She really was exceptional and answered all my questions. The two assistants in the back really help me feel relax. (Because I have a hard time dental procedures) also, I must say they are very clean and also good about not cross contamination. I hate to ever give a one star to a small business but I feel obligated to post this to protect other consumers. I called a week in advance to see if they accept me and my mother's insurance for teeth cleaning. Tanya (the patronizing not so nice lady there) said that they do so i booked an appointment. A day before our appointment late in the afternoon I was told that my insurance didn't cover dental and that my mom's insurance required additional paper work. Then I was told that most likely they would only be able to do the exam and not the cleaning. I was falsely misled and cancelled my appointment. I'm sure the Dentist is great but Tanya is hurting the business. read more

I just changed to a new primary dentist under a DHMO plan. Here are my experiences: 1) Have to undergo two X rays because the first one did not register on their computer system, some kind of software problem; 2) After getting it right second time, Dr. Chu commented that I have a lot of teeth missing since I'm wearing partial dentures. Perhaps, he was pushing his implant on a retiree. i passed. 3) I have an abscess on my anterior molar which need root canal. He said that I have to change my two crowns in order to undergo this procedure. I said I would try first having it done without removing the crown. So finally, he referred me to a endodontic specialist because he suspected I had cyst. 4). If somebody tells you that you have a cyst, you want it to be take care of immediately, isn't it? No, I have to wait for three weeks to undergo those procedural rigmarole of DHMO approval. When I called my insurance, they suggested that I can search my endodontic specialist in my area and give the name to them. I was able to to do it in two days time 5) Having a new Primary Dentist today, I thought of getting my records from Stanton Dental Care, guess what, there's fee involved to make copies from the copier of bite wing X-ray. Being a senior, I am trying avoid undergoing another round of radiological just determine your true condition. In my opinion, I give this office a one star, best thing happened to me they referred me to an endodontic, a specialist whom I have researched and personally chosen. The latter removed the cyst abscess and the biopsy report came out negative. He gave me the dental report without any fees and I am handing it to my new primary dentist. I am a son of a dentist, I guess that old generation is gone where they provide a real dental care and take care of your dental needs with your own options. Nowadays, dentists don't like DHMO plans, don't prefer to do laborious procedures but more on implants and crown replacement tailored to your insurance coverage. Once they open your mouth, be ready to open your wallet. too. read more

Crazy! Prepare for poor service. If you have better insurance, go elsewhere. Since I have cruddy insurance - DeltaCare, my deep cleaning / new filling for cavity is not covered - hence $900 out of pocket. Reluctantly, I agree since I cannot change to a new insurance for another year. After all, Dr. Chu seems like he knows what he is doing. While in my first appointment (X-rays), along with my 2 kids for cleanings, he tells me something very alarming - that it looks like my son's front 2 teeth may come out - COME OUT!!! He's 13! Anyhow, I take him over to his orthodontist, and the ortho says he needs work, but the issue is not completely uncommon to take care of - but nothing about coming out - sheesh! Second, the front office girl has told me that my wife needs to come in and sign paperwork because they have a credit program they go through - since my wife needs extensive care ($2000 worth she's told), and we choose to put it on their credit program. Fine, we both have decent jobs, and can swing $100 a month for 18+ mos. But I was told that I could get added to the program, and although the cost would go up, we could bring me onto her credit account. While there, the front office girl tells me that she has called my wife several times to come in and sign paperwork due to HIPPAA compliance regulations, which I understand. Thing is - my wife was called one time, and left 1 rude message a month ago. She basically told me today, after confirming the appointment with me last week (and stated nothing about my wife signing things - over the phone to me). Hence, I had to call my wife that second and have her call the credit place - while she was working - and have me added. I asked if this had to be done now or I wouldn't get my work done, and was told this is what needed to happen. Basically Dr. Chu, it would be nice if we were told this billing issue was a necessity before I took a day off for my visit - already filled with anxiety over a deep cleaning (shots and all). I will be taking myself and the kids elsewhere. read more
