Pizza with to much cheese.
Charles K.

Been coming here for their food for years. But lately the constancy has not been there. Both pizzas had so much cheese you could not taste anything eked the toppings. We ended up not eating most of it. The doughy was great as always. The bummer is I wrote to them with the date and time do they could speak to the guys a reiterate the process to making thier great pizza. They never responded. Do Ivam searching elsewhere because 50 plus $ spent you should be able to enjoy it.

Best pizza in La Mesa. Generous toppings on pizzas. Sandwiches and antipasto salads also are good. Always a wait so order ahead.

Yummy, gooey, cheesy. Very similar to a popular pizza chain in town without the tourist price. Best for pick up.

Nasty pizza. Crust was worse than a frozen from the grocery store. The toppings were cheap.

We got the fresh homemade bread, polpettine, insalate venere, linguine, and lasagna. The herb infused dip for the bread was delicious, and the bread came warm wrapped in a towel. The polpettine was my favorite appetizer, the meat was so tender and delicious and paired perfectly with the whipped ricotta. I appreciated the olives and onions in the dish as well, and the sauce was great with the bread. Our server was extremely kind and offered to split the salad for us. My boyfriend loved the salad and loved the pairing of the greens, goat cheese, and walnuts together. He got the lasagna for the main and noted that there were about 12 layers beautifully stacked upon one another. My linguine was delicious and packed with seafood which was cooked perfectly. The texture of the linguine was delicious and seemed home made. Overall the food and service were excellent. I'm so glad I found a gem near my home and will be back to try more of the menu.

Our server, Leticia, made the entire experience even better. We had two families at the table with three little kids, ages one, two, and four, and she was so patient, funny, and genuinely wonderful with them. As parents, we rarely get the chance to go out together, and she made the night feel so easy and enjoyable. It was one of those evenings that made us wonder why we don't do this more often. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was incredibly family-friendly, and the service was exceptional. We highly recommend Antica Trattoria, and we'll definitely be back.

Five stars. And I mean every one of them. I had driven past…read moreAromi countless times before my son finally convinced me to go for my birthday dinner. I had been looking at the pictures on Yelp all day, just getting myself excited. It did not disappoint. We arrived with a 6pm reservation on a Monday. When the host mentioned only outdoor tables were available, I asked if we could wait for something inside (the outdoor space is enclosed, but you can still see the parking lot, and it was my birthday. I wanted cozy). A second host appeared shortly after, took us to a table inside without hesitation, and turned out to be our server, Brad. So already, off to a good start. And cozy is the right word. The interior is adorable, exactly the kind of neighborhood Italian spot you hope exists but rarely find. The kind you want to be a regular at. Our server introduced himself as Brad. "I'm a Bradley, not a Bradford," he said. "Ah, as in Bradley Cooper," I replied. We were off to a good start. When I mentioned how old I was turning, he said he didn't believe me and asked to see my ID. I happily obliged. He then found out I wasn't planning to order wine because my stomach was being fussy, and before I could say another word, he said he'd bring me a taste of his favorite white. The Gavi di Gavi was delicate and lovely. Delicate stomach be damned. We started with the Burrata e Prosciutto (burrata, prosciutto, shaved parm, and honey). The camera eats first, of course. Simple, and absolutely divine. For my entree, I had been set on the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe all day, but Brad's description of the seafood squid ink pasta changed my mind on the spot. No regrets whatsoever. My son had the Fettuccine Tartufo with salsiccia, and my nephew went with the Carbonara. Everyone was happy. And then there was the tiramisu, made tableside, three spoons. Enough said. The entire experience was exactly what a birthday dinner should be, the kind that reminds you why you go out in the first place. Going out to eat is expensive now, and you feel every dollar. When it's worth it, it really stands out, and Aromi was worth it. If every restaurant had a server like Brad, who was attentive as if he had a personal stake in your evening, more people would keep coming back. I'll definitely be one of them.

The bread it always crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside (doesn't cut up the roof of your mouth) the mortadella is a very high quality with visible pistachios pieces throughout. The service is fast and friendly. I ordered bunch of sandwiches once and had them slice the subs in 4 and served that for a game night at home once. Hugely successful evening. If you're looking for a well balanced and delicious sub sandwich, go here. They do have outdoor seating, but I always take mine to go. We had a picnic with these subs once too. My wife ordered the drunken chicken sandwich which was absolutely delicious. The vodka sauce and the chicken cutlet with the mozzarella was fantastic. They make the sandwiches on the spot so service is a little on the slow side but worth the wait for that sandwich. 2 stars. I went with their July special, which was a lobster Caesar wrap and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The wrap itself is $23 and this thing is tiny. The Caesar dressing is very one note and not very good. I couldn't really taste the lobster and there wasn't very much in it. I came here because I saw their post on social media and I will say the wrap they posted was about two times the size of the one that I paid $23 for. I think I would probably come back for one of their traditional Italian sandwiches, but I definitely would not get the lobster Caesar wrap again. It is way too expensive for what I got. The deli itself is a little more on the expensive side. For my wife and I to each get our sandwiches and a drink was $60 which is a little outrageous for a deli.
