Prior to moving into our new home, we had quite a bit of electrical work (~$10K) that we wanted to address. I sought bids from 3 other electricians and D&D was in the mid-range of estimates, but at the top based on Doron's communication, professionalism, and confidence that he could get the work done on time in the short window we had. He explained everything he intended to do patiently and throughly. Given the significant drilling they would have to do to install recessed lights, Doron and his two-man crew laid out protective covering throughout the entire home. I was not present while Doron and his crew did their work, but he texted many photos and videos throughout the process to inform me of the progress and to ask my preferences when there were unexpected options. I appreciated how easy it was to always reach him by cell phone and how straightforward he was about everything. My wife and I were extremely satisfied with the quality of Doron's work. Doron saved the day! (Literally) At 7:00 am on the morning of our annual Superbowl party (50+ guests) we had power losses (not tripped breakers) in some critical areas of the house, mainly our fridge, microwave, tv, etc. We would have had to cancel the party if we couldn't get the power issue resolved immediately. In panic mode, I found D&D Electrical and saw that their hours matched my crisis (7:00 am on a Sunday). I called, left a message, and within 10 minutes got a return call from Doron. He came out within an hour, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the damaged parts in the panel. Our party was saved and we can't thank him enough. we have ahs home warranty. we needed to have our 9 smoke dectectors checked and replaced. shs said d and d electric would be our workcontract. checking their yelp review, i said ok. ahs said the d and d would contact us. after waiting and waiting, we called them. the schuduler said that she could "fit us in on thursday between 2 and 5 pm." ok at 4:45, on thurs. we phoned them asking if he is coming???? we were told they had so much work that they could not make it. so the scheduler put us in on friday between 2 and 5. again at 4:45 we called. again they cannot make it!!!!! now this is not right or businesslike. now we are on the books for monday at 7am. at 8:15 the owner calls and said he will be here in 20 minutes. he bacically told us he would not replace our old smoke alarms that were constantly sounding off throuout the years. we do change the batteries. the bottom line-over 8 hours of our time waiting for d an d to be told they would not do anything without ahs giving them the ok i will not invest any more of my time with 2 sub par companies-in my opinion. i am cancelling ahs as well. read more

Doron does not seem like a real person. I mean I went on Angie's List to look for an electrician and his company was top rated. I called, and I know it was a coincidence, but he was 2 miles from my house and on his way to an appt with someone in 25 minutes. He came to me first and was there in less than 5 minutes from me calling him. I barely had time to put my shoes on to greet him at the door. I needed a light fixture installed in my basement so I could pass inspection on a new HVAC system. He checked it out, told me he needed some materials and that he would be back after his next appointment to take care of it. This was after advising me that if I called the electrician who worked on my house when I remodeled it, the work would be free. I said no. I wanted him to do it. So he went to the other appointment, then returned in less than an hour. Installed a fixture and also caught the fact that my prior electrician had left a cut, exposed 120V line just sticking out in the basement. It was ostensibly for a powered driveway gate that was never installed. This open hot line was near wood framing and only a few feet from my 6 year old's bedroom. I had no idea it was there. Doron caught that, grounded it and boxed it as well. After all of this, he comes up and says, let's make a deal. He tells me what he would normally charge for a service call like this, and says give me $20 and make a donation to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. I only had $10 in cash on me. He took that. So like I said, I'm not convinced he's a real person. Not sure I've ever met anyone so selfless and professional as well. Of course I have to write a review. Thank you Doron. I just had to write this review this evening because Doron was truly amazing. I know it's a cliche, but I would give him 10 stars if I could. It is Sunday evening at 7:00 and while I am making dinner, the all outlets in the kitchen suddenly go out. The reset button on the outlets don't work. I'm starting to stress out because now I have to wait until tomorrow before I can use my kitchen. Or so I think. I looked on Angie's List to find an electrician who I could call tomorrow. I found one that was open till 8:00 on Sundays! It's D&D Electrical. I called them and got an answering machine. I thought, I should've known, there wouldn't be a live person on Sunday nite. I even called the other number available. Same recording, but I left a message with my name and number, thinking I would at least be called back tomorrow morning. But 5 minutes after I left a message, I get a call from Doron, the owner! I explained to him my situation, he asked me if I was using two equipment/appliances at the same time, and I said I was -- the microwave and toaster oven. I had used them together before without any problems. But Doron explained to me that that can still create a problem. He told me to take a picture of the circuit breaker and text it to him. So I did. A while later (about 30 minutes), he called me back and said that it is a very easy fix. He instructed me to go to the circuit breaker and gave me very clear instructions on how to re-set it for the kitchen. It probably is a very easy problem for many people, but for someone who has no knowledge of circuit breakers, I was completely in the dark until Doron explained things to me and walked me through the quick fix. I was happy to know it was a simple fix and that I didn't have to call an electrician to come out tomorrow and pay who-knows-how-much for such a simple fix. Due to my lack of electrical knowledge, I could have been easily deceived by some professionals. I was truly amazed at Doron's kindness, helpfulness, and integrity to do all he did, on a Sunday evening no less! I would have expected many other companies to hear my problem, and then say "We'll send someone out tomorrow," even knowing it was a simple fix. But I feel Doron's actions speak volumes about the kind of person and worker he is. I can now see why he has such high ratings on Angies List and on Yelp. I honestly am putting him on the top of my list of electricians for any future electrical problems and work. I highly, highly recommend him! Thank you, Doron! read more

Doron has done a lot of work for me over the past 5 or so years, beginning with a new panel as the old one kept tripping and was inadequate for our needs. He's done various other things for me since then, including a light on the patio, re-wired my garage and installed better lighting in there, and switches for my ceiling fan/light in two rooms. When the switch broke a year or so after installation, he returned without wanting payment and replaced it for me. Doron is a great guy, very honest and capable. My moto with home improvement projects is: "Do it once but do it right." I feel with D&D Electric, they really did it right! Doron rewired my entire house (it was knob and tube and a fire hazard).
