Wife and I stopped in for the first time today after hearing good reviews. I had a cheese omelette with rye toast with a potato patty that looks like it came from McDonald's and that's what the lady said.. I'm glad she was honest. Been driving by this place for decades and last Sunday my wife and I decided to bring our kids here and have some brunch. From now on, this is my favorite brunch place so far. Sunday it was packed with people. The smell of coffee and breakfast was just so cozy. Especially with a rainy day, it was the coziest experience. We had to wait about 5 minutes but we were seated pretty fast and the table was very clean. The server was amazing. Took our order, made sure everything was done right and she did it with a smile on her face. Always making sure we had everything. Food took some time but once we got it, it did not disappoint and was worth the wait. I tried my wife's coffee and it was one of the smoothest sip of coffee I ever had. Their chocolate milk was delicious. I had the Ruben Omelette and my wife had the Eggs Benedict. Both were so good. Their potatoes or house fries are the best! Hands down! The portions are big and very filling. Our toddlers enjoyed it. Overall the best experience and can't wait to come back. Had breakfast there for the first time last week. Had a vegetable omelet with cheese, toast, and hash browns. A solid meal. Everything was good. The coffee was good. Gluten free toast was excellent. Service was quick and pleasant. The only downsides were the noise (place was crowded with lots of loud talkers) and the price (tab was $40 for two people, plus a 20% extra tip=$48). So, not cheap but reliably good. read more

The five of us got together for our monthly breakfast this morning. First time here, and it didn't disappoint. As the name suggests, they specialize in home-made hash. Three different kinds... corned beef, sausage and vegetable. We sat in Kelly's section, and she was great - affable, attentive, always smiling and patient with our group (some of whom are a bit unsavory). Anyway, I had eggs over with CBH, rye toast, and HFs. The wait was short, and the food was savory. To my taste buds, the CBH was just a tad dry, and the HFs were definitely deep fried (as were the hash brown patties that some of my friends had). All in all, a solid place with great service. Very clean and safe. And the outdoor dining area looked very inviting. read more

On a day trip to Amherst, MA and points north, we found this gem through reviews on two platforms and chose to stop for breakfast and we were quite glad we did! FOOD GLUTEN FREE options galore! 'Nuff said, right?! This was a very pleasant surprise for me. I chose to order a la carte...a single gluten free pancake, a hash brown patty and a side of corned beef hash. The pancake was large and fluffy, the hash was pretty finely chopped...no stringy corned beef here, and the hash brown patty was hot and crisp and probably my favorite of the the three dishes. It would have been awesome with sour cream and applesauce like a super crispy latke. So good! I would return JUST for this. (GF pancake $6, CB hash $5.95, HBP $3.95) GF pancake had a $2 upcharge. Worth it for me. Steve had the biscuits and gravy; excellent! He got the full order which came with 2 biscuits and plenty of delicious gravy. Very filling! He also ordered a side of sausage hash which I was able to sample. Very unique hash of finely chopped sausage and potatoes with green peppers and carrots. We haven't had hash like this before. Well worth trying! (B&G full order $8.25, SH $5.95) I just want to mention that the one dish of biscuits and gravy for $8.25 is basically an entire breakfast on it's own for LESS THAN NINE DOLLARS! SERVICE Everyone was very pleasant! We walked in, were greeted by the hostess and seated immediately. Our server was Lexi N and she greeted us with a couple of minutes to ask if we wanted drinks. She brought us water and gave us plenty of time to order. Much appreciated! We did not wait long for our food. ATMOSPHERE Family diner style, pretty loud as the crowd grew though no one group was particularly noisy. That was the only downside to the visit, but a minor one. Clean. Table, booth and counter seating. Can't miss the signage outside...or the chicken and rooster themes. Part of the fun of roadtrippin' for us is finding new breakfast diners and mom n pop restaurants and when we find a really, really good place and leave happy, it can really set us up for a great trip. Why is that parking lot always full? This is a question I have routinely asked myself, especially after trying it once not being super impressed. Come back around to Father's Day this year, and this was one of the few places that was open a bit later on a Sunday. I must say, that the seating situation has improved, with more indoor and outdoor spaces for people to sit comfortably. I will also say that our service was prompt, and the food came out rather quickly for it being full. The best part of this trip, is that the food quality has definitely improved since I went last. The pancakes were perfectly cooked, with real maple syrup as an option. The bacon was just the right size and crispy. I ordered the eggs benny with home fries and veggie hash, and that veggie hash was one of my new favorite things. Peppers, onions, broccoli- just so good. I also asked for the home fries to be extra crispy, and to my delight, they had a perfect seasoning on the outside. If anybody remembers the old Friendly's home fries, the seasoning reminds me a little bit of that. Just the right saltiness and crispiness. Yummm. My original assessment of the place as a crowded greasy spoon has now been upgraded. It would be nice to have more booths than tables with chairs, which I don't find as comfortable, but everything else was great. read more

We've been coming to the hash house for a few years now. I've tried all of the breakfast spots in the area. Hash house and Sunny Side up are our favorites. Their corned beef hash is house made and delicious, the rest of the food is great, not overly greasy and the service is fantastic. read more

Had breakfast here this morning. The only reason why I give it two stars is because the food was decent. My main issue with the service. There was none. I was absolutely ignored after my order was taken. I was treated as a burden. I could not believe I was not asked once about anything. Not a single coffee refill, not once "how was your food" not a single inquiry as to what my experience in their establishment was. NOTHING. Complete isolation. I never even ASKED for my bill. It was placed in front of me when my plate was still half full. Which brings me to my next part : Mind you they advertise that they are open until 2:00 pm & it was around 9:30 a.m that I visited. Dining room was only about a third full, yet I was asked to sit at the empty counter. Seemed I was segregated on a subliminal level. When I sent a message of concern to the owners about my experience, I was immediately confronted w/ the racial aspect of my experience. Not the main fact that the service was so completely horrible and non existing. I was told "don't make it something more than is". This statement coming from who I presume to be the owner. I can understand now how the servers get away w/ treating customers the way they do. With an owner that focused more on a passing observation than on the real issue of his waitstaff's inattentiveness. Shame too, cause like I said, good food. read more

I'm not a hash fan but one of my friends had been bugging me forever to try this place. She ordered the sausage hash and I ordered the regular hash so that we could try both. Both were very good, said by someone who doesn't like hash. Neither were greasy. I thought the sausage hash was the winner. It has a great fennel taste to it. Portions were very generous. The eggs were cooked perfectly, service was great, the coffee blend was very good. One side note is that while the rug is very aged and needs replacing, they keep the place very clean. I just wish they would hide the vacuum, broom and dust pan from view of the main dining room. No one really wants to look at that while eating. I would return. read more

I've driven by many times saying "I've got to try their Hash". I stopped in today and was disappointed. I ordered the hash omelet with American cheese and breakfast potatoes. I'll start with the potatoes. Huge pieces, plain, no seasoning and barely cooked. The omelet was tasteless. It looked like they either ran out of hash, used tiny, diced ham or if that's what they call hash, I won't return. I couldn't taste any cheese, there were onions (if I had known that "hash" had onions, I wouldn't have ordered it) and tomato pieces (3) . I am not a food critic by any means. I search out small breakfast diners to try the hash all over the U.S. I just want to give My opinion on My experience and hope changes are realized and made. your reputation as a "HASH" house is not cutting it with My taste buds. read more

2 stars because the first visit was ok- the bananas foster French toast wasnt bad and my fiance liked his hash. This visit the food was awful. Fiance got a full order of biscuits and gravy and I think they mustve ran out of it because there was barely any gravy (pic is directly from opening the box- he hadn't eaten any of it!) I got a breakfast sandwich w a hash brown patty. They forgot the hash brown patty and I didn't notice til I got home, but the bigger issue is that the bagel must have been days old. It was so hard to bite and chew, my jaw wouldve killed after eating that sandwich. My fiance thought I was overreacting and tried it for himself with the same reaction. My husband and I with 1 other couple went around 11:30 for brunch and was told 30 minute wait - which was totally fine. After 30 minutes we were called to a table and waited 15 minutes to get a greeting for the waitress (Becca) AND our menus. We then waited another 15 minutes for her to take our order. We seem to be waiting extremely long for our food and saw another large group that had arrived before us get theirs - which was understandable. We thought maybe that's why our food was taking longer. It was exactly ONE hour from when we placed our order to when we received the food. Our waitress Becca never stopped and asked if we needed anything. Multiple tables around us were very displeased as well. One table asked her why the food was taking so long and her response was very rude. My husband ordered chicken and waffles and it was 1 waffle w/ 2 small chicken strips thrown on top. He was very displeased and said "this is something I could've made at home." The restaurant was half empty at this point and Becca was just standing and chatting with the hostess up front instead of checking in on us. 10/10 would NOT recommend. read more

I went here this morning on my way to The Ranch Golf Course. After waiting entirely too long for service, I ordered the eggs Benedict. Ten minutes later the server brought out the eggs Benedict and it looked horrendous. The hollandaise sauce was completely broken and was a complete disaster. Without even touching the food I threw a $20 on the counter and left immediately. A complete embarrassment, not to mention a waste of time and money. Never again. read more

A fantastic place to go for breakfast or lunch. Service is always fast and friendly. I love biscuits and gravy. The gravy here is not white or brown, it's yellow. Tastes like it might be made with cream of chicken soup, or chicken stock. Not what I'm use to, but still very good. This place is worth the 30 minute drive. read more

Awesome family place, seemed that all the staff was related. There were a ton of people milling about that seemed that they worked there, though not many were helping out. Which seemed to be a good and bad. We ordered the Popeye Omelet and the Forentine Eggs Benedict. Sat down and received our coffees promptly. Hot and as reasonable as to be expected from a small town breakfast spot. Florentine was good, sauce was pretty rich. Came with either hash browns or home fires. She ordered the hash browns and was quite happy with them. The first egg was poached wonderfully, the second was hard boiled. It was pretty awful, it was too bad we hadn't ordered egg salad. The omelet was fine, nothing to write home about but fine. Downside came to the toast, it seemed that it was warmed in some method that was not toasting. I also noticed that it happened on the English muffins in the Eggs Benedict. Didn't know if they used a flat top to toast or just dind't set the temp high enough on the toaster. The home fries on my omelet were pretty under done and not that well seasoned. Over all, the atmosphere was nice. I would give it another go as it figured itself out since it was newly opened. Maybe even the side of hash that I ordered since it was the Hash House. Would have come out not overdone. I saw other tables that looked great. Guess it does not happen to everyone. read more

I really wanted to LOVE DJ's. I did. It just hasn't really worked out between us. Although, I do have to say that the service has improved a great deal since the first time I went, which was a complete cluster. I gave them the benefit of the doubt though considering it was a new operation. There are a couple shining elements to the place- the veggie hash is really delicious and when I say CRISP on my bacon, they listen. The staff clearly pools the room as it seems like there are just too many people coming at the table in so many different directions. We will get one person sweeping with water and drinks, then the next with the food and a waitress or two checking in every few minutes. Slightly aggressive. I do like the laid back, family atmosphere and how the waitresses never make a big deal of my son being a lunatic toddler. I just feel like a few tweaks here and there could really make this place so much better. Consistency is key and I do not want to spend money on a place that is hit or miss. After a few tries, we have gone back to our old standby down the road. We'll try back in a couple of months and see where its gone. I DO predict that it will continue to improve. They have a good product and are open for business in an area of Western Mass that is desperate for good, solid restaurant options. Keep at it Hash House! read more

No idea how this place is getting low reviews! Love the taste of their hash! There are a lot of servers and they are very attentive. They also back off when a table may feel overwhelmed. (Watched it happen at a table next to us) My husband had to chicken fried steak and said it had great flavor!! She also served out food wearing no mask. She said she had a breathing problem and could not wear a mask. She should not be serving food then or rolling silverware. A friend and I recently tried the Hash House for a weekend breakfast. We were pretty disappointed. The food was mediocre. The eggs tasted like eggs, the bacon like bacon, etc. but nothing was noteworthy in any way. Our service was odd. There were almost too many servers. My friend got coffee right away, but after our main waitress took our order, any number of other waitstaff kept popping by to "check in" -- it was a little overwhelming. And after they visited no fewer than seven times in the beginning of our meal, once my water ran out I didn't see another server until we were given the bill.
