About 1 1/2 years ago i brought my jeep to D&S to have them install my lift kit for my jeep, after driving around for a few months hearing alot of banging sounds from the rear axle i finally noticed my sway bar links were installed on the outside of the bracket rather than the inside causing them to hit the bump stops over every bump or pothole in the road. After going back to D&S they flipped the sway bar links to the correct side. Afterward Sean came out to tell me there was "Minor Damage" to the links but they should be ok. after arriving home it was easily noticeable they were NOT ok and were chipped so badly they could have broke at any time. So i called them to tell them i was angry and wanted new links put on. afterward i posted a review expressing my dissatisfaction with them for causing damage to my vehicle and not offering to fix it. after this review was posted i received a phone call from Sean telling me that they would not work on my vehicle because they didn't like the review i posted and i would have to take the review down before they would fix my vehicle. This made me extremely angry. i decided to go elsewhere to get my car serviced and left my review here to share. But hold on it gets better. last week i took my jeep in to get axle and suspension work done at Simpson Family Jeeps. i told them a bolt from my track bar was hitting my bump stop and while it was there if they could take a look. They called me up and said D&S installed the track bar bolts backward. a few days later when they finally got around to putting the rear axle back in they gave me another phone call telling me they had some trouble because D&S installed my bump stops backward also. So thats 3 things on my jeep that they got backward. the techs head was probably on backward. so not only did my sway bar get damaged but, my bump stops and rear track bar was also damaged. very disappointed in their customer service and the way D&S treated my vehicle. I have heard countless rumors of problems with D&S but took my car there anyway. i should have known better. My experience with d&s was a complete nightmare. First Jackie forgot to put in estimate with my insurance so after a week when I went to drop off my truck she tell me to not to reschedule said she would take care of everything easy for her to say. I had to pay extra for the rental not her. Well long story after having my truck 16 day they call me to tell me it's done. Well the work was awful. Put a white bumper on a pearl white truck side had dents still, they did not hook up my license plate lights, bumper was lose cause they broke the clips, also the mat that goes on a bumper used half new one and half of old one. Which did not meet up. I have all the pictures. Well my insurance had them take it back to fix it. Big mistake!!!!! Well it wound up being 50 days I didn't have my truck after a minor accident. I backed into a parked car. Well they call me and told me your car ran great when you brought it in and it won't start now. He said they tried to reset the codes and jumped it multiple times. Well after they finally had it sent out to a mechanic they told I had to return the rental car. It no loner a collision problem I have to handle it mechanic. Well they messed up the computers in my truck so bad I need to sell it. I just paid off my 55 thousand dollar truck now I'm told to sell it cause what they did. Not to mention they gave to mechanic shop with a flat that was not there. There is so many other wrongs and nasty things they did. I took my 2011 Dodge Durango in because I needed to replace one of the doors die to rust. I got a quote that was comparable to what others have quoted and they told me they would only need the car for one (1) week. I scheduled the appointment for Monday and even dropped the car off Sunday the night before. I did not hear a peep from them for several days (not even to let me know the car is checked in or if they were even working on it). I called them on Thursday to get an update. They told me it would most likely be ready the next day and that someone would call me. No one called. I waited several days and finally decided to call them on a Tuesday (10 days after I dropped the car off). I was then told the door they ordered was not in yet and that it would a few more days (this was never mentioned when I called the first time). They said someone would call me with an update when the door arrived...no call came. The following week I had to call AGAIN because there had not been a single update given or a call made to explain what was going on. When I called, I was told the door was in and it would be done by Friday of that week and someone would call...no call came. So I called AGAIN the following week and was told it was almost done. A few more days pass and finally, after three (3) and half WEEKS, they graciously called to tell me I could come pick it up and of course, pay for the work. ZERO communication for three and half weeks unless I initiated it for a simple door replacement!!! Not a good experience...not happy. read more

Don't ever take your car here after a fire. Geico took my car here and they never even pulled it into the bay to look at it. They only raised the hood and look because they said they has no signature from me authorizing them. Then why did my ins bring it here??? I asked if my car was safe to drive home and they said yes it was fine and my engine blew on the way home. They said it was my fault. Even after I asked if it was safe to drive. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Stay away from this place and Geico ins. The manager was condescending even after he shook my hand and said my vehicle was fine. Worst place ever to bring your vehicle. Update: someone called me today and said it's not 100% my fault but I was offered a tow. I informed him why would I take a tow when I was I informed by car was safe to drive??? Again very rude and I believe it's because I am a woman and they were taking advantage of me. I called several other automotive places today and they did not speak highly of d & s auto. I will be taking my jeep to a better place that will actual do more than just lift the hood and inspect visually. They have since blocked me on facebook. Do not trust this place. Get another opinion before bringing it here. There was also an unhappy customer there when I picked up my vehicle. Looks like a trend for this place. Beware!!!. read more

TERRIBLE! Stay away - not a reputable shop. Dropped off truck for an aftermarket fuel tank to be installed. Was quoted "up to 6 hrs". I also wanted a camera wire run from the truck bed to the front cab which would be super easy to run along the frame rail with the fuel tank removed. They had the truck at 9am and I received a call at 2pm stating the truck was finished and ready for pickup. From my math that is 5 hrs. Of course when I picked it up I was billed 6 hrs of labor. Was also told that if I wanted the camera wire run it would be an additional 2 hrs of labor because he forgot to tell the installer to run the wire while the tank was out. Really? What B.S. They obviously don't know what they are doing because the tank manufacturer says 2-4 hrs labor for "self install" and I ran the camera wire myself out of frustration with them in 1 hour. D & S did work on my truck a little over a year ago. The staff was pleasent and reassured me that my truck would be as good as new. The truck at the time had about 8,000 mi on it. Not the case I had return a fourth time for the truck before I actually took it back. I am still finding things that they either overlooked or neglected to fix. I wanted mudflaps so as a courtesy they installed the weathertech mudflaps free of charge due to the huge inconvenience. All four mudflaps feel off after the first couple snows. They also had my truck for about 3 months. The work was quoted out for about 60hrs of labor. Just a bad experience over all. Wouldn't recommend the Chardon location to anyone. read more

We have used D & S Mentor and, more recently, Chardon. I love the effort they put in to returning my car to good-as-new condition. The work ethic of the D&S team is second to none. They go above and beyond in making your repair as smooth and expedient as possible. They even serve as a go-between for your rental car. My rear bumper was glued back together. How do I know this? I can see right thru the body lines. My trunk is soaking wet and pieces of the interior of the bumper were left in it. They killed the battery. Front bumper had work. I can now pick the bumper up myself. Again body lines are off. Can also stick my finger under head light. When the other side is very tight. I hope who ever played around with radio enjoyed it to. Thanks but no thanks. My 2012 Chrysler 200 will never be the same. read more

Promises made but not fulfilled. Was not asked to remove property from trunk. Did not see a reason to empty trunk because no damage in rear or vehicle. Personal property in trunk was thrown/ messed up with disregard. Trunk was not reassembled. Clips and panel were broken in trunk area. Personal property inside vehicle was moved misplaced. read more

Manager (CJ) was very rude and had terrible people skills. Was not done in a timely fashion. I dropped off my car first thing Friday morning. Did not hear anything until I called Monday. I have to take it back in tomorrow morning because it was not fixed correctly. read more
