This salon is a great place for waxing and threading! I've been going to the owner Dolly for three years for body waxing and I'm always pleased with her results. Not only is Dolly a sweetheart, she is very thorough and precise with her work and makes the experience as painless as possible. The place is very clean and neat and I've never had a bad reaction to the wax. Might I add the new chocolate wax they have gives amazing results and makes the body so smooth! I went to get my eyebrows threaded, I didn't get her name but she was the last with light hair and light eyes (blue maybe). My eyebrows had a nice shape and were a nice thick size since I have a long face, I told her that I was there for just a clean up and please to not make them thin. She did the complete opposite. She butchered me eyebrows, gave them no shape, made the SUPER thin, and worst of all they look completely different. Just had my eyebrows threaded by Robyn (?). I was in and out of the salon in less than 10 minutes (there were people ahead of me) without an appointment. I had been growing my eyebrows out for almost two months and was ready to get an eyebrow make over. I asked her to shape it to my face and not to thread them too thin. She did an amazing job with the thickness and shape. It's probably the happiest I've ever been with my eyebrows. The salon is clean, they're fast, and budget friendly ($5). Been getting my eyebrows threated here since 2011. One of the few spots that you can still get it done for $5, especially here in Forest Hills where they hack the prices up on everything because of the neighborhood. Every time I get my eye brows done I go next door to see the puppies by the window. I've been coming here for many years and the service has been great. However, I was extremely disappointed this morning. The sign on the door says they open at 10am on Saturday. I was there at 10 and nobody was there. I understand if people are a bit late, fine. There was already a woman and a child there waiting before me. Nobody arrived to open the door until 10:15! I have several issues with my experience today. 1. There was no apology or even an acknowledgement on their part that they were late to opening today. 2. When I finally sat down inside, the three women took their time to settle in. I get that you need time to settle in, but if there are 3 customers waiting for service, you would think that you would hurry up a bit. 3. There was no offer for a discount or any compensation for my eyebrow threading. I am extremely annoyed that it took me 30min to get something done that should have only taken 5min. Because these women were late to open the store today, I saw that one of the 3 original customers walked out. I like coming early so I don't have to wait in line, but instead I had to wait for the people to open the store!! I'm wondering if I should come back here or just find a different place that actually opens on time! read more

I love this place. I come here religiously! My eyebrows are a sensitive place for me. I've had some really effed up eyebrows because of bad threaders/waxers. But the staff here is pretty good. Be VERY CLEAR about your instructions of what you want and emphasize and REITERATE a few times because some of them don't listen. Wish I knew the names so I could forewarn, but I don't know them. A few girls can make them overly thin which I hate for my face so be aware of that. read more

Dolly is the best for waxing. She is friendly, thorough, accommodating, and makes you feel comfortable (which is definitely a plus when going for a Brazilian wax!). She also has special waxes such as zinc and chocolate which leave your skin smooth with no sticky residue. The prices are good, and they offer numerous threading/waxing services. It's located in a very busy area though, and parking is pretty difficult. read more

I've been looking for a new waxer and I've found her at D&S on Austin Street. I read a mixture of reviews here on yelp and decided to try it. This place was clean, inexpensive, and service was great and speedy. Ask for Pramila. She seemed very experienced and was very professional. She wore gloves, put wax into an individual cup to prevent double dipping, and really understands the direction of hair growth. A brazilian is $30, very reasonable, especially for how good the experience was. I will be going back and will recommend this place to everyone I know. read more

I used to go here but I stopped because they ruined my eyebrows. I had thick long eyebrows and now there so thin and messed up. Every body teases me about it and it's annoying. They messed up my length and it's very upsetting. Now I have to grow them out wich will take so long and I'll look horrible with all that hair on my face. If I could rate this place 10 stars I would, just for Minu. She is absolutely amazing. I see Minu religiously every 2 weeks for either my eyebrows or a full Brazilian. She is detailed, welcoming and knowledgeable on all things hair removal. I will be getting a facial next from you guessed it Minu. With a European Wax across the street you may be asking why not visit there. Minu makes the daunting task of having your nether regions waxed less embarrassing & less painful. She is quick, extremely detailed and professional. Minu makes sure each visit is as painless as possible. I can't believe the terrible reviews on Minu. She is STILL working at the sunnyside location which is why she is only available at Forest Hills on Tuesdays and the place is flooded throughout the day with other ladies waiting to see her. Let's me start by saying I always come here. My eyebrows come out great. Tinting only last for 2days and for $12 (so not worth it). Let me get to BRAZILIAN. Everytime I've received a Brazilian wax, the wax was poured into a cup and applied to my skin. Yesterday I went to receive a wax and she used the same stick from beginning to the end. So you're telling me someone else is going to be using this exact same way after me. How gross. This is about my 10th time returning but will definitely be my LAST. Even if I returned and it was poured into a cup, the person before me could have already double dipped. Such a turn off! read more

Sooo, I was in the area and needed to get my brows unbushified. I usually go to this lil place at 74th and Roosevelt but as I was on Austin street... I go in. There's no wait time as I'm the only customer. A woman greets me and directs me to a seat. As she's doing my eyebrows, I hear a co-worker of hers say what sounds like "Mee-nu." First thing that goes through my head is, "this is the woman who got the bad review!" But, I hope for the best. When she was done...nothing spectacular. The cost was $5 and I usually tip $2, but my brows really didn't look all that great so I only gave her $1. Thing that cracked me up is that I had a couple of other $1 bills in my hand when I gave her the dollar and she looked at the other money like she'd expected or wanted to get that too. If she'd done a good job, she woulda gotten $2. If she'd done a beautiful job, $3. But, it was just meh, so $1. I'll stick to my spot on 74th street. read more

Went for eyebrow threading today and told the lady specifically that I did not want THIN brows. Just clean up the spare hairs and shape the brows I told her. I even repeated NOT THIN and when I look up she threaded half the width of my brows away. she gave me Greta Garbo brows!!! I am so upset and will NEVER come back here again. I told her it was way too thin and her excuse was that she had to thin them to shape it. Horrendous experience. If you want to take a chance go here. Not me ever again. read more

I've been here a few times thinking they can always get better, BUT I was wrong. They are very nice but not very clean at all. SLOW SLOW SLOW i gave this place 2 shots bc its close to my apt and i was really hopeful for a great threading place. i go 30 min out of my way to get my eyebrows done instead of this place. ive had my eyebrows done at various places over the past 10 years, and this is one of the worst. the faster you go the least amout of pain there is, when youre a more experience threader you can go fast. both times i was in the chair for what seemed like 20 minutes of hair pulling torture (literally, ha ha), my eyebrows dont grow very much since i only do threading. at my usual place it takes about 2- 3 minutes. this took 10 times longer. 20 minutes is not so long, but when somebody is pulling out hair one at a time it is. i wanted to make sure this place got an accurate review. THIS IS NOT A GOOD THREADING PLACE. if you need a place in forest hills, check out rani on 108 st. if youre willing to travel farther, the number one place EVER is on main street called maladi, its one block before franklin, highly reccomended!!! read more
