The young lady offering to take my order was friendly and attentive to everything I asked for, noting the differences between what I wanted on my grinder and what my husband asked me to request for his. It was done perfectly, just as I had asked. They didn't take long and the grinders were absolutely delicious. She even found a coupon for me, on her own initiative, that took $5 off my bill. My family has been going to D'Elias grinders since I was a kid. Back then we would go to the one off of University Avenue in Riverside. It was not a full restaurant then. You would walk up and place your order at the window and my father would pick me up so that I could see the ladies make the delicious grinders. Then we would go sit at the outside patio to eat or grinders. My mom would always bug the then owner to open up a place in Lake Elsinore. I'm still waiting for that to happen... Every chance we got we would drive up there to eat their delicious grinders. I have yet to find grinders that can compare to theirs. You surely will not go wrong with ordering from D'Elias grinders. Sign says: It's the bread! Well, no, it isn't the bread. My roast beef sandwich was served on a roll that had apparently been sitting on the counter for a week. If that's how it is supposed to be, you can have my share. Either way, the sandwich was pretty disappointing. My wife's meatball sandwich was OK, not great, but decent. It's been years since I'd been but my husband wanted to try it. Service was good, and the staff was friendly. Sandwich had that same bread I remembered. However, that's pretty much what it was, bread. About 3 inches thick of bread with about 1/4 inch of meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc. Could have been a great sandwich, but for the price I probably won't go back. read more

I came here for lunch and I ordered the Philly Steak sandwich. I got the whole sandwich and it was huge! The ribeye steak was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The way they buttered the bread made it so much tastier. I would definitely come back to this sandwich shop. The price is actually very reasonable. If you're doing #Thinsulin, just order the large steak sandwich and don't eat the bread. You'd still be full. read more

What a wonderful little grinder haven. We were greeted with happy smiles and friendly hello's. The shop is spotless, from the register to the kitchen to the sandwich prep area to the soda fountain. Even the bathroom was the cleanest I have been in, in a very long time. The menu offers a wonderful wide variety of fresh veggies & meats. The Italian bread is the absolute real deal best! They have potato salad, Pasta salad & macaroni salad. End your meal with scrumptious sweet street cupcakes ( vanilla bean or red velvet) both are awesome! If your close to being full, a delicious freshly made cookie ends the meal nicely. Every customer we encountered while we were eating was so nice & friendly. Worst customer service ever inappropriate loud music employee cannot hear you because of the inappropriate loud music took 25 minutes to make 3 Grinders didn't even get my order right I don't think I will be back! I read some positive reviews for this place and one negative review. It was the most recent review. I wish that I had paid attention to this review. We were looking to go on our first post covid outing. A couple of Sundays ago, my wife and I decided to try getting a couple of subs. We spent a half hour or so perusing the menu and trying to order. We gave up on online oder and made the eight mile drive down to the store. The website said that the place was open until eight. We arrived at 6:55 and were rudely informed that the shop was closed at seven. that the site was wrong and that they had no control over it. We called the University location and the manager told us to come by and we would be taken care of. We rushed another eight miles and when we arrived, we were informed that the grill had been turned off. This resulted in me getting my fourth choice, a cold roast beef sandwich with stale bread, stuffed with lettuce and a tiny slice of beef. My wife's sandwich also was stale and not made to order. Her club had no turkey. The manager was very proud of himself for offering us a 15 dollar discount for this fourth choice dog food. If you go here, you can expect the following. No guarantee that they will be open. No customer service or personal responsibility by employees. A great chance that the food you want will not be available. The worst sub in the Inland Empire. All you folks who praise this place, I just can't....it just sucks. read more

Have to say I am disappointed. Been here twice. Service was poor both times. First time the sandwiches were good enough to come back a second time. Second time same bad service and actullwas told I couldn't add extra meat to a small sandwich even though it was on the menu board as an option. I came here at 5 and ate my sandwich in the shop. There were two take out orders during that time otherwise I was the only customer. The young man who took my order was friendly, I always appreciate that! I went to the cool soda machine and my first choice ran out before my cup was filled. I made two more choices, both we're unavailable. Luckily there's a bazillion choices so eventually I got a drink I was happy with. Then I heard done call a number that it was ready. REALLY? I was the only customer in the shop. Weird. I was given my sandwich a bit brusquely not meeting my eyes and smiling. Points off. I ordered a hot pastrami and when I opened it the bread on the bottom was totally soggy? How did that happen? I was prepared for the crunchy exterior and soft interior, mostly it was just mush. The pastrami was strangely very dark. Everywhere I've gone before ( never had one in philly!) the meat is a pink not dark brown. Odd. The taste was ok. Not sure it was worth the calories. Sadly my biggest thought is how does this place stay open? I've just left and a third take order was picked up. In over an hour 4 customers? Finally I used the restroom and saw weird trash behind the trash can. I'm not coming back. But I have previously enjoyed the bread! Can't win em all! read more

D'Elias is always my go to. The grinders are consistently good and the service is always great.

The only reason why I stopped here was because the place was packed (not sure why). I went to the smoothie place next door for my kiddos and thought I'd take some lunch on the go. I ordered the turkey club, chipotle philly and the phillysteak. The bread on all three were hard, and seemed store bought (not tasty at all) it would break in crumbs when you took a bite. Sandwiches were mostly bread and lots of lettuce . Both philly's were dry. Since I'm used to eating amazing sandwiches from Cortinas Deli in Anaheim, these don't compare. The one thing that was worth buying was their pasta. Pasta was delicious. Definitely not a fan!! Service was great, but never again. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and we can agree to disagree. Peace read more
