First timer. Had my expectations pretty high based off the few reviews I read. I was already a minute away so I thought why not. I ordered the whole (12 inch) hot pastrami. I love pastrami but I know it's usually hit or miss. I'd give it a 3/5 the pastrami could have been cooked longer. Would I come here again? Maybe But only because it's so close to JuJu bar which I LOVE! The lady who took my order was Dionna. She was nice l, patient and well mannered. The cook didn't seem to friendly but it's okay :) it was probably hot back there. read more

The bread is my favorite part of their sandwich! It's so good! If you're new to D'Elia's, it's worth trying at least once. It's strange to see some low ratings. I've been to this place dozens of times and I have never had any problem with their customer service or the length of time waiting for my sandwich. Absolutely horrible service. placed My order via phone at 5:15pm and was told it would be a 25 min wait but waited an hour. When I got my food, they charged me for an extra sandwich and 1 of the original sandwiches I ordered was made wrong. They wanted to "switch the meat" instead of making a new sandwich. wnded Up getting my money back and getting NO sandwiches after an hour wait. read more

I'm vegetarian and the vegetarian grinder here is sooo good! Often vegetarian sandwiches at other places leave you with something plain and not worth it. But here they load it with veggies and cheese if you ask for it. And of course the bread is light and crunchy! I also love adding hot peppers! highly recommend! read more

I will miss this place having grown up in Riverside and lived there for over 20 years.... Well nowhere else compares now. Their vegetables options are a bit slim and they could improve there. Otherwise very unique with the sunflower oil and their beautiful bread. I love also that they have french fries! read more

First time coming here, ordered the sicilian taste was good, bread was a lil hard, but ok. My issue is i ordered a side of jalapeño paid for them but when i got ny order and asked about the jalapeño, i was told they dont carry them. Went to the register and told the guy that took my order that they dont have them he just said oh ok. I had to tell him but you charged me for them. I got the money back and i was walking out another employee on lunch break said to the person that he was sitting with how is going to charge for sumthing he knows we dont have. When i was getting my refund i asked if you dont have them then why is it in your system? He just said we have a lit of stuff in here from the past. The bread is the absolute reason to come here. Its flaky and crunchy on the outside but fluffy and pillowy on the inside. I've been eating at D'Elias since I was a kid and I've never had anything like it. Keep in mind that it's a grinder, not a sub. You can't expect a subway style mass produced bread style sandwich. If you don't like the crunchy flaky bread then this is not for you. The fries are delicious too!!! read more

This location was ran by 3 young girls today. 2 were very nice but Amberly was rude. She seemed to be annoyed that i asked for oil to go with my order. She said they dont give it to go because they sell it.... and she wasn't nice about it. My elderly mother thought she was helping by placing the tray we used for our dine in order on the counter. With aggression Amberly grabbed the tray and before my mother even took a step away, walked in front of my mother and slammed it on another tray on the trash can. My mother still trying to be nice said oh im sorry i should have put it there. I normally wouldn't do a review but because it was done to my 73 year old mother i thought i should. Very disrespectful! My husband wanted Delia's because he has been eating there over 20 years when it was on University. Today we ordered a Philly cheese steak sub. First of all this foot long was $15.00....., second, the beef was not seasoned and over cooked, barely any onions and maybe 2 slices of bell peppers, minimal Provolone. To top it all off, there was a small sharp bone in the meat. Overall it was mediocre. I wouldn't pay that much for that sandwich again... read more

Ok so I have been eating D'Elia's Grinders my entire life and they are always amazing. The bread is baked fresh daily and has zero preservation. The bread is flakey and delicious. I originally ordered through Postmates. I ordered at 4:15 and I was told the order would arrive at 5:30... a long wait, but I didn't mind I was excited to try D'elia's for the first time. Around 6pm I called the store asking if they had my order since it still hadn't arrived. They proceeded to tell me that my order was never received and I was placed on hold to speak with a manager for over 10 mins. Decided it wasn't a big deal, emailed Postmates, and drove to the store to just order inside instead. When I arrive, the employees were super inconsistent. My dad and I stood there as they played the song "WAP" and two out of the three employees showed each other Tik Toks and I couldn't could how many times the guy employee dropped the F bomb. Mind you there were 5 customers in there. ....... okay now onto the food. We got home and we had ordered 3 sandwiches. The French Dip was missing all of its toppings. My sandwich and my mom's included 1 piece of meat, one slice of bacon, and one slice of cheese lol. We had to cut the bread in quarters to make one single sandwich. It was a super odd experience. I am 21 and in food service myself, I get it having fun coworkers is great, but at least be genuine to your customers. Probably won't eat there again, but give it a shot if you want! read more

Three employees in uniform sitting at one of the tables eating and one of them keeps going back to the sandwich line to grab things... still chewing. His friend that is making sandwiches keeps walking over to the group asking them about switching dates to work (not actually working). No wonder there is a "now hiring" sign in the window. I was introduced to D'elia's through my husband, he used to live in Riverside and use to go to D' elia"s as a young man when the restaurant was only a walk up window. He raved about the sandwiches and the fresh homemade bread. So, now I can honestly say I'm hooked and we drive from San Diego periodically and make it a weekend outing! I wish they would expand to temecula or Escondido cause their so good! My favorite is the Italian sandwich with extra meat and cheese!
