I was starving in Sacramento and didn't want to eat anything really unhealthy and I am so glad I came across this place it was so good I felt like I just walked in on one of my aunties cooking and got to have lunch with her the food was so dam good I made the perfect choice today when eating out ! And she was super quick as well the place here is so cute so while I waited for all of this I was highly entertained so 10/10 service and ambience. She gave me good customer service!

I love this place. I've been coming here ever since it was called the Indo-cafe. A couple from Sweden of all places, was visiting, and I offered to take them out to dinner. They were staying at the Holiday Inn downtown, and I asked what kind of food they would like. His partner is from Indonesia, and said that it's hard to find good Indonesian food in Sweden. Well, this place is right around the corner. I told them, it's not fancy, but it is good. We meet up, and the lady that ran the restaurant was very friendly. She immediately started chatting. With the lady in my group in Indonesian. Right now, the indoor dining is closed, I don't know if it's going to be coming back, so we just had dinner on the patio. We shared an order of the lumpia, the chicken satay, and they had the Nasi goreng. (Fried Rice.). I ordered the. Cap cay, which was basically chicken with veggies. Everything was very good. The lumpia were delicious, and they were not greasy, On the satay, the chicken was delicious, and the peanut sauce was savory. They definitely liked their fried rice. My dish was also very flavorful, the veggies were just the right texture, and the chicken was very good. I asked my female guest if the food was authentic, and she said yes, it was very good. The price was reasonable for all that we got. I'm glad I was able to give my guests a little taste of Indonesia. I will be back again. Thank you.

I've seen this place for years and I've finally tried it. And let me tell you they were so good! We ordered the lumpia, fried rice with pork, and fried noodles with chicken. Lumpia was delicious, hubby devoured them. The fried rice was so flavorful with a hint of sweetness. Came with a fried egg too on top. The fried rice I think was my favorite. Big chunks of bbq pork was a win! The lady at the door was sweet and gave her recommendations for my first time there. No seating inside, just outdoor seating. Not sure if that's a permanent thing or not. The place looked small with some small tables inside. However, there are plenty of tables outside or take your food to go. Will definitely order again from them.

Homey authentic Indonesian food that I make sure to stop by for every time I'm in Sacramento! Love all their homestyle dishes that are full of flavors and fresh ingredients. Cap cay, satay, and nasi goreng are all exceptional and I can't resist coming back every time!

Located right along the river in old sacramento, Bali kitchen is a very cute storefront with a handful of picnic tables adjacent. The service is amazing, and the proprietor is friendly and patiently explains all menu-related questions. The clientele is very diverse and eager to try new things. This afternoon I tried the nasi goreng, I'm Indonesian fried rice. Loaded down with pork, sporting an absolutely delightful crunchy texture throughout, this was both tasty, filling, and satisfying. Would eat again!

My husband and I went on a date night and the weather was chilly so we decided to check this place out . It's a cute hole in the wall kind of restaurant and that's how you know the food is gonna be good! What caught our eye is that the menu was halal This was our first time trying Indonesian food . The owners were friendly and welcoming . The food came out delicious and we will definitely be back . The soup felt so good to the soup. It tasted like something our grandmother would make

Haven't been back here in probably a decade but it's really great to see they are still open!! They had a different name before but the same humble delicious food. Think home cooked food, served straight to you in paper plates. They don't have indoor dining but you can grab a table outside, and most are covered in case it's either raining or too hot. The chicken noodle soup was so comforting on a cold evening! But my favorite was still the beef nasi goreng. Tender beef and just really solid flavor in the rice! Even my kids liked it. The ground beef pastry was okay but a bit dry for me, so I'd skip that, but the lumpia/egg rolls were nice and crispy. I hope this place survives another decade and more, and I will try to visit it even more now that I'm reminded how yummy it was!

I visited yeeeears ago and remember enjoying the food. But on our recent trip, we weren't that impressed. It felt like this was closer to Chinese food (and I think the sign actually did say Chinese fusion), just a little better because it's not super saucy. We had the beef nasi goreng (fried rice) and it was fine, nothing special. Bakmi goreng (fried noodle) was more like a chow mein. The chicken in both the bakmi goreng and satay tasted pre-cooked and lacked flavor. The best thing we ate was the mango sticky rice... mMmMmm good! Anyway, it was ok, but not reminiscent to what we we experienced in Bali.

This used to be Indo Cafe back in the days. I miss the old Indo Cafe with secret Indonesian menu with dishes like Nasi Kuning, Nasi Rames, etc. We ordered Nasi Goreng, Bakmi Goreng, and Indonesian Fried Chicken. Food was good. I just prefer the Bakmi Goreng I had before at Indo Cafe with rice noodles instead of the chow mein like noodles in this version. Didn't wait long for the food. I wish they open their inside dining again instead of the seating outside especially when it's cold outside.

Had the Nasi Goreng with Beef, Seafood Curry Soup, and Durian Sticky Rice. Food is not super authentic but tastes good. The Seafood Curry Soup has some noodles, not a lot as a meal. I agreed with other reviewers that it is not thick enough, a bit watery. We ordered the Durian Sticky Rice as dessert and thought it will be a few bucks - it is $21 when we see the receipt! Holy Moly! But I shall say it tastes pretty good, but I won't order again lol

    Yer V.

The first time I came here, I thought the food was okay only but decided to give them another shot. This time around, we got the their egg rolls and their beef rendang. The egg rolls were standard. Nothing amazing but not horrible either. The beef rendang was a big miss in my book. The portions were very small and the beef was very dry. I see they have really good reviews. Maybe I got the wrong items. I'll maybe try it one more time before writing them off.

Since that visit I have returned three different times, always bringing someone different to show off this excellent restaurant find located near 73rd and Stockton Blvd Engawa Fusion is such a special place-this restaurant is over 30 minutes from my house in Natomas in traffic ,yet that never stops me from trekking my way across Sacramento-I love this place that much. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person. The flavor and seasonings are flawless, the noodles are cooked perfectly, great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure. I can easily see why this dish is such a popular item on their menu. This restaurant was given a spot on Yelps Top 100 Places to eat in 2025-nothing in this visit did a thing to show that honor wasn't well deserved. In closing-I don't know if I could recommend this spot any higher and I plan many future visits whenever I want to show people how amazing the culinary experience in Sacramento has truly become. 10/10 experience. PS-Parking could be a bit of a challenge as they share a lot with an auto shop but all of my visits I was able to secure a spot-I am sure you will as wel

The restaurant itself is very nice inside and has a great atmosphere despite being just off the busy main street. Service was excellent from start to finish. We were seated quickly, got drinks right away, and the staff went above and beyond with recommendations. We definitely needed the help because the menu is huge and honestly a little overwhelming on a first visit. We ended up ordering the tea leaf salad, wok-stirred spicy noodles with shrimp, fiery tofu with vegetables, lemongrass chicken, and two orders of rice to share among four people, which ended up being the perfect amount. The tea leaf salad was unique and delicious. It's a Burmese staple with great textures and flavors ranging from crunchy and fresh to salty and savory. Really good. The fiery tofu was another standout. It was savory, umami-packed, and had a nice char. Their style of tofu is really unique and almost meaty in texture. The noodle dish was tasty, but surprisingly lacked any spice despite being called spicy noodles. Thankfully, our awesome waitress brought out a very spicy chili paste that reminded me a lot of sambal, which really kicked it up a notch. The shrimp was also very fresh and meaty, and you could tell it was good quality. The lemongrass chicken was good as well. The chicken was incredibly tender, likely velveted, with a nice savory flavor that felt balanced and not overpowering. One detail I really appreciated was how well all the vegetables were cooked across every dish. It's something that often gets overlooked, but nobody wants undercooked or mushy vegetables, and everything here was cooked perfectly. Overall, I was very impressed with both the service and food quality. The menu is so large that I'd absolutely come back to try more dishes. That said, while everything ranged from good to very good, I wasn't completely blown away by any particular flavor. I almost wonder if I just didn't order the dishes that best fit my palate. It's hard trying a new cuisine when you have no prior experiences to compare it too. Either way, it was a great meal, great service, and a great introduction to Burmese cuisine. I'm looking forward to learning more about the food and coming back to explore the menu some more.

The restaurant is super cute and has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered and shaded which is perfect for warmer Sacramento months. They have a variety of menu items including a build your own bowl opton, tacos, nachos, sandwiches, loaded fries, musubi and an udon special. I ended up ordering the Umami Udon with special chicken as my protein ($13.50), a Build Your Own Bowl with fried rice, katsu chicken, the triple katsu sauce, and stir fried veggies with "The Works" ($16.50), and Musubi ($8.75). The staff was super friendly and helped me make some decisions for my order and recommended the umami udon special, which I'm so happy about. The food was made fresh and took a little bit, but was packed with care and was nice and hot. I took it home to enjoy and the food was still hot and the portion sizes were really generous. The Umami Udon was amazing, it had perfectly cooked udon noodles that had a great chew in a creamy teriyaki sauce with smokey bacon, mushrooms, onions and garlic. It was a great mix of sweet and savory and lived up to it's umami name. I would order this again and again, it was so good. The Build Your Own bowl was also delicious and I can see why the chicken katsu is a customer favorite. The veggies were fresh and the fried rice was really flavorful. The Spam Musubi had thick slices of spam with a nice marinade and came with sauces for dipping. I'll definitely be back again soon, and while I want to explore more of the menu the umami udon is happening again!

I tried their sukiyaki set, both wagyu and seafood. I wish they had given some instructions on the approach or order I should eat the sets of food. It was a little chaotic trying to figure out how I could submerge all the ingredients in the broth so they would cook evenly. The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting. Since I tried both set, the wagyu sukiyaki broth became a little too sweet at the end. My favorite is definitely the seafood sukiyaki broth. Would I try these pricy sukiyaki again? Probably not.
