the food tastes amazing! Unique offered us a great dining experience. she helped make our mom's birthday dinner special!! food presentation and restaurant atmosphere is unmatched, from the beautifully decorated walls to the music, it was a very lowkey and fun night!

The doughnuts to start are good, just sugar covered doughnuts. I think the Mexican fusion is just a coy for overpriced Mexican food. Our server was nice and attentive tho. The wait for the food wasn't bad, even for our party of 10. I got the mole enchiladas... mole was definitely too sweet. The actual tortillas were super crispy which I loved. The rice is decent, nothing crazy. The beans were piped to look fancy, but definitely bland. Also I ordered the eggs sunny side up... but this may be just me but I'm not sure.... My egg whites on my egg were super raw. See picture of it on my napkin to show my waiter. There were clumps of raw egg whites around my eggs... definitely could've used a little more time to cook. Waiter still kept it on the bill. Definitely do NOT recommend this place. Overpriced, disgrace to Mexican food, and overall should be replaced with an actual Mexican restaurant. Don't make the same mistake I did by giving this place a try. SMH. Also there is music played by a DJ after 11am, so there's that...

Holy moly!! It's been a minute since I've had such an amazing brunch!! My partner and his co-workers wanted to get together before we all go to Vegas next month. We settled on this place and boy am I glad we did!! The place is super cute, very instagram, service was great! Our waitress was super nice and was truthful with her suggestions. Food was fantastic!! The churro pancakes may have stolen my heart!! Still thinking about them!! I opted for the spicy chorizo omelette. Not too spicy, thank god! The strawberry mojito and patito guapo drinks were amazing! Prices are very reasonable! Our bill was $300 for 6 people, everyone had a drink or two!!

This place was much better than other reviews have stated. We received great friendly service. The restaurant is very nice inside and decorated well. The margarita was perfect. My husband enjoyed his drink very much also. We tried the beef tacos which have a yummy Latin spiced pot roast flavor and then the steak tacos which came with a great sauce. I loved the salsa verde, too. The tortillas were absolutely delicious!

This place has a lot of potential, it's cute and insta-worthy with a Mexican fusion vibe. It is on the pricy side, and you're paying for the ambience. The breakfast omelette and waffles were delicious. The sweet potato fries were great. We tried the berry salad and it was bomb. As much as we enjoyed these gems on the menu there were others that really need improvement. The tilapia tacos all the toppings and salsas were great but the meat was over salted so we didn't finish these. The regular coffee and "cafe de Hoya" were luke warm, and we waited 10-15min for creamer and sugar. And the abuelita hot chocolate was really bland. The biggest improvement needed is the service, although the staff is friendly when interacting with the tables they are disorganized and distracted socializing among themselves. We didn't have utensils on the table when our food arrived, we were not brought syrup for the waffles, one of our food items didn't get entered into the kitchen so one of us couldn't eat and had to box most our food to go. (They did give us a coupon for a free dessert due to the miss on not putting in the order on time) However there were so many times during the service we tried to call over a server or make eye contact and they just didn't pay attention. When our food arrived we didn't have utensils so one of us had to get up off the table and literally go get a server so that our food wouldn't be cold. There were not that many tables either, we were there at 1pm on a weekday. I would try this restaurant again, however I would be hesitant to recommend due to the service. If you are someone looking to grab drinks and light brunch it's a great place but don't come here with a time constraint, the slow service will keep you there for a while.

Mexican Club (half was moved to another plate)

The place is decorated beautifully and definitely has a fresh and fun aesthetic. We were greeted and seated immediately. The only thing that threw us off was the amount of time before someone came to our table. We had already browsed and selected our orders and were making eye contact with several people. It seemed that half the employees were at the front chatting with the manager or just standing. I'm not sure if this was their shift change or what, but we waited a good 10-15 minutes until someone decided to come to us, even just to bring some water. Our waitress was nice, took our order, and the drinks and food were quick to come out. I got a Cafe de Olla, which was good. The others got a agua de Pepino y Limon and a agua de Limon y chia, which were both refreshing. The Mexican Burger was the best thing at our table. Second was the chicken pesto panini. Last would be the Mexican Club, which in theory was okay but the steak wasn't tender enough to bite through the large pieces, so it made it hard to get even bites each time. I think smaller pieces would be better, maybe even in panini form like a torta. Good idea, not the best execution. Sweet potato fries were delish. Overall, the food was great. Only complaint was the wait to get service in the beginning. Would probably come back to check out the breakfast menu or for that burger.

I've been to Pilsen but tried Berwyn this time for my birthday with my sisters-family.

There is street side outdoor seating; however, there were no table umbrellas during our visit. The staff greeted us immediately and was happy to review the menu with us. We had the mole with roasted broccoli and cauliflower, unicorn pescado tacos and a Plato Fuerte with shrimp, lobster and chicken in a tasty creamy sauce. We loved all of the entrées; however, thought the mole was a lacking the traditional mole flavors we've tried before. The unicorn fish tacos were the standout and were crispy and delicious! We also appreciated the 4 taco serving, which was perfect for two. Prices were on point with other similar style restaurants in Oak Park, slightly elevated but fair for the quality of ingredients. On the downside, the bone marrow was undercooked, and we actually found a piece of aluminum foil in the mac and cheese that was prepared without truffle (menu states truffle). For example, we were told the street corn wouldn't be on the cob, but it was. Overall, some hits and some misses. Ambiance is ok - there's nothing that stands out. Drinks and mains were good, but a few things really missed the mark. For the price I don't think I would return.

We got there at 12:58 we were told it'll be about a 20 minute wait. Ok fair I guess they had only been opened 2 hrs. Needless to say we waited 35 mins. Finally we were seated. Our server was JP very nice young man. But he was overwhelmed as this place is just ridiculously small and busy. I ordered the "Longhorn" since I'm comparing the Porterhouse Steak . I observed the restaurant being kind of run down. Nothing great about the look. Some open tables some booths and a small bar area. We waited another 35-40 mins before the food came! They didn't have steak fries so I ordered the baked potato instead. Not much potato not the best. 5/10 My wife had the surf and turf. Her steak and lobster was cooked nicely to her liking. She said about a 8/10 but her baked sweet potato she said 5/10 My steak was cooked perfectly!! It was 22 Oz. Flavor was good. A nice charbroiled flavor and it was seasoned well! They topped with butter that added additional flavor! I'll have to give that steak a 8.7/10. We spent a total of almost 3 hrs there. ‍ because of the LONG wait times to be seated and to receive your order is unacceptable. Other locations are probably different. I'm figuring because of the price of the steaks is why they're so busy. I go to Harry Carey for my steaks actually better dining experience, better quality of the steaks and sides. But I wanted to compare these two and see what's the hype about these two franchises. And it's definitely the price. Both places you can get a porterhouse for $35! Whereas when I go to a more upscale steakhouse a porterhouse runs me at least $125! But again it's double in weight and it's Prime cut. With that being said. The service and wait times is better at Texas Roadhouse. The sides, salad and definitely the rolls are better at Texas Roadhouse but the steak was better at Longhorn. I'd rate them even..... one isn't better than the other. It's really a preference based thing. I'm going to stick to my Harry Carey's for the best steak and experience. But For the price you can't go wrong with Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse! Remember Yelpers ALL reviews are subjective.

The bread service was fantastic. The tomato focaccia and the baguette were both excellent and I had to remind myself not to fill up on it before the main meal! LOL! We started with the calamari which was very well seasoned and clearly not the typical frozen version you often see from foodservice distributors. It tasted fresh, was crispy, and well prepared. For dinner I ordered the margherita pizza which was simple and delicious. I ended up ordering a second one to-go for my partner who couldn't make it to dinner. He also loved it - even after it sat for ~30 min or so while we chatted more, then drove home to the Maywood area. I would imagine their delivery is pretty good based on that! My mom had the rigatoni vodka with added crumbled Italian sausage which she loved, and my dad ordered the Marcelino. He loved the generous amount of seafood and how well seasoned it was. My parents are big wine drinkers and my dad was especially impressed with the wine list and the selection available. Oscar was an incredible server!! He struck the perfect balance of being attentive while still letting us enjoy a relaxed, unhurried evening. The support staff and food runners were also fantastic and very friendly, making the entire service experience feel polished! I also loved the kitchen was more open which gives you confidence in the quality and care that goes into the food. Right away we were brought water in a basket of warm crusty bread with butter. Then we met our server, Axel. He was a young man with lots of knowledge of the menu. He was personable and engaging. We started out with drinks. I asked our server Axel if the bartender could make a bees knees, and he said if they had the ingredients they would make one. It turned out Axel was the one who made my cocktail and it was spot on. We shared the chicken liver pate hors d'oeuvre. The pate was served with three small crostini toasts, cornichons, cubes of clear jelly which we couldn't figure out what it was, and Dijon mustard. The pate was very good but it was disappointing to only receive three small crostinis on the plate because the ratio of pate to crostini was way off. We had to ask for another basket of bread so we could finish the pate. For dinner my husband had beef wellington, my son had lamb chops and I had the special for Saturday, soft shell crabs. Each of us enjoyed our dinners. My son asked for creamed spinach instead of the ratatouille that came with the lamb chops, and Axel was happy to make the substitution. I'm so glad I went with softshell crabs because I hardly ever see them offered on a menu. They were delicious! We ended sharing a mango soufflé - after I made a wish, of course! I forgot how much I love dining at Hemmingway's. I definitely recommend this bistro for lunch or dinner or even their jazzy brunch on Sundays. It was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday.

The buffet was okay--not bad, but not especially memorable. It included crab claws, shrimp, oysters, smoked salmon, bagels, a wilted salad, pasta salad, and a handful of dessert options. The savory items were fine but didn't feel elevated for the price point. Quiche was served cold which is not my preferred temperature. That said, the desserts were the highlight. The crème brûlée and lemon tart were excellent and definitely the standout items of the buffet. One downside was the service, our waiter was MIA for a while, which made things feel a bit disjointed, especially when trying to get the check. Overall, it's an okay brunch with a nice atmosphere and solid dessert offerings, but for the price, the buffet selection felt a bit underwhelming. Worth trying once, especially if you're there for a leisurely brunch and good sweets, but not a must-repeat for the food alone.
