When we first arrived it was packed but didn't see anyone waiting, no one was in the front counter so we waited by the registered for a little under 5 minutes. Apparently there was a long waitlist but everyone is waiting in the back. Waiting was about 15 minutes which was not too bad considering how many people were waiting. When we were called we were going to be seated at a 6 person table when there was a 2 person table available. We ask to be seated there so a bigger group could be seated sooner but no they seated two people instead of a bigger group. Which is fair because they go by the waitlist but it is not strategic. Ok let's get to the food, I had the Chicken Chipotle Panini, which was so flavorful and juicy, I choice the strawberry salad as my side and was so glad I did because it went so well with the panini and was not like other restaurants side salads it had strawberry's, walnuts and cranberries, I was expecting lettuce and one strawberry so happy to be wrong. Visiting the windy city and came here. Was recommended to us. We wanted breakfast at 3pm and we got it. My kids got waffles and a chocolate shake. I made my own omelet. My husband got chilaquiles. Food was excellent and inexpensive. Everything is freshly made even their sauce for the chilaquiles. Can't beat that!!! You must try their own coffee (has cinnamon in it). It was delicious! The one drawback is that it can be slow if you have a lunch hour and they are busy. We also ordered the chicken alambre and melon/pina water, yummy! I regret not taking pics to show how great the food looked and tasted. I'll definitely continue to come. My son took me to this restaurant because chilaquiles was one of their specialties and he wanted to surprise me . He knew how much I love chilaquiles. Oh boy if I was disappointed when I ordered them and asked if they come with the traditional beans. The waitress said "we don't work with beans". I was like "okay" I no beans? Really? Red Chilaquiles were alright, however; I looked at my sons plate with mole chilaquiles and he had barely tasted them. I asked him why he said "the mole tasted awful, so I went ahead and tasted it and it tasted very very sweet. I have tasted many kinds of moles before but never tasted one like this. Went to D'Nuez for lunch so we were in a time crunch and it was not busy. We waiting about 20-25 min and nobody would come to take our order while there were 2 waitresses just standing there. I asked twice if they could take our order because we were at lunch. They proceeded to say that we had to wait for our waitress and that she was making some cappuccinos for other customers. Well we waited and nothing! We had to walk out. Horrible customer service, we should not have been waiting so long to put in an order, specially since there were two other waitresses there standing against the wall doing nothing.
