This place is truly a gem in Waxahachie. The food was really fresh and good! The service was fast, it was a weekday so I'm unsure if the weekends are different. We really wanted to love it, just like the other reviewers. From the waitstaff to the entrees, overall kind of a disappointment. Sorry, wish I had chosen differently for my birthday dinner. Table of 5 all different options, same overall conclusions. Yucca appetizer was the smallest serving I've ever seen, way over priced. Cocktails were good but really expensive since served in tiny glasses. Definitely not a traditional molé sauce. I'd maybe go back just for chips and bean dip/salsa with a beer? Perhaps it was an off night? Owners were not in sight. Best tip for ambience would be to change out all the bulbs to warm white. The cool white lighting does not make you want to linger. read more

Amazing food, drinks, and service! We came back for the brunch the next morning after eating here for dinner. All the food is outstanding. We had the Brisket grilled cheese, brisket quesadillas and taco trio for dinner (three of us). And the Cuban Sandwich, French Toast and the D'amigos Tacos for brunch this morning. For drinks, we had the espresso martini, Bloody Mary, Latin Lover Martini, and mimosas! If you haven't, you have to try this place! read more

The Fajitas was a very small portion with little veggies with no sizzle, the "Spicy Spaghetti Latina" was not spicy or flavorful. The Carne Asada was tough. The chips were Great and hot salsa decent. The chicken enchiladas and sour cream sauce were the BEST I've ever had... and I lived in Dallas and ate chicken enchiladas every day when I was pregnant! Eat here. Food was delicious. Freshly made, from the black bean dip and salsa to homemade chips. I had a pork chop that was marinaded in something amazing with black beans and rice. The rice has an unusual flavor to me, not sure what it was, but I really liked it. We all had something different and every one was very pleased with their meal. Service was excellent! Went to D this evening and after reading all the reviews I thought I must have gone to the wrong place. But then I looked and most of the reviews start with drinks and appetizers. Maybe I should have had more to drink!..... No way this is a 4 or 5 star place. But I will agree with the reviews on the chips and sauces. Very, Very good. One of us had a Margarita and opinion of it was also very good. And even the Veracruz enchiladas were good.... But, the Shrimp Pasta Latina way over seasoned, The Cheese Enchiladas simply put, terrible. As bland as hospital food. Service, very friendly but very average. Didn't go in the bar but in the eating area it's just a basic cafe set up. Not sure where some folks got the great "ambiance". Could be wrong but sometimes folks find a new place to eat and the newness causes the reviews to be exaggerated and I think this is a case...... But, I also wouldn't discourage anyone from giving it a shot. Good parking, the place is very neat. But, for us it will probably not be a regular stop.... read more

Great service! Super clean. All drinks are made fresh (no pre-mix). Expect to wait for food, however the wait is well worth it as it is all fresh. Pupusas need more seasoning. Missing the authentic tomato sauce, crema, and cabbage. Cabbage had too much vinegar and is missing the authentic carrots. They need to spy on The Campina in Arlington and learn how to make and make the servings correctly when it comes to Salvadorian food. Empanadas were okay, got the beef. Needs salt and would be great if they served the empanadas with a side if their Chipotle sauce. Tortillas chips were thick and nice. They were served with a side of beans and tomato based salsa (very mild). Wish they could incorporate maybe a third sauce a spicier one. Missing table salt and pepper on tables. Surf and turf plate was good. Rice was nice and fluffy. Has more of an Indian taste (cumin flavor) to it but I enjoyed it. If they can tone down the cumin a bit it would be a perfect rice. Shrimp was well seasoned, chimichurri sauce was okay, fried bananas and, yuca was okay. Would have been nice if they served the plate with crema on the side for the yuca. Churros were amazing. They were hot, filled with cajeta and a side of ice cream. Definitely a delight. Other than that if they can work on a few modifications such as more seasoning it can be a 5 star restaurant. read more
