I came here to check out the new mural being installed at Da Good Vibes restaurant by Flavorinnovator. Also, I came to try out the limited edition dish, "Viet-Namski-Kho", which is only availble from July 24th ti July 26th. This dish is inspired by the Vietnamese dish Thit Kho. Kudos to the kitchen staff for a delicious dish! The braised pork was soft and tender. Soft boiled egg had a nice jammy middle. Nuoc cham had that sweet and savory taste that paired well with the garlic jasmine rice. Give this dish a try during it's limited run! It sells out fairly quickly! read more

Delicious food! This spot has a few tables inside the restaurant but next door connected is a beer garden type of place with plenty of outdoor seating. Parking can be a little tough, but within walking distance. Menu is limited but has great variety. They serve modern Filipino food with some Hawaiian twist added to the items which I loved. I ordered Da Good Vibes Nachos and they were bomb! I will say it was a little bit on the saltier side when eating a chip with lots of chilli, but there was plenty of toppings and chips ratio so I was able to disperse it well. My husband got the Guava Glaze Pork Ribs with fries and mac salad. The ribs were delicious and fell off the bone. The fries were nice and crispy but the mac salad was definitely a highlight for me. I orderedthe ox tail nachos. I had never heard of nor tried ox tail nachos before. It's not tyically a combination that you would think about or put together, so of course I was curious. The first few bites were delish! It had the crunchiness from the nachos, and the ox tail meat combination took it to another level! Unfortunately, halfway through, it started to taste very salty. I tried to ignore it by taking a few sips of the beer I purchased while sitting next door, but it didn't help much. For the most part, it is definitely a creative and tasty idea. The sliders consist of a very nice brioche bun, with lumpia pork patty, with a layer of lumpia wrapping. The sweet chili sauce, and charcoal with calamansi kicked up the flavor to a savory, and very tasty unique slider. The truffle fries were very delicious. A definite must try. Guava Glazed Pork Ribs - 5/5 The guava glaze on the pork ribs was very well balanced. Not too sweet, not too tart. The glaze coated every rib well. There were no bare or unmarinaded spots on any rib. The pork ribs were fall off the bone tender. The shrimp chips pairing was an excellent idea! The shrimp chips were very airy light and tasty. The shrimp chips do not fill you up like the fries. A very well balanced combination that you do not fill overly full if you finish everything. If you're in Union City, give Da Good Vibes a visit. I highly recommend it. Fantastic food and a creative menu right next to Birdhaus! Food here is Filipino inspired bar food & also really trendy. The menu feels like a breath of fresh air from other, more traditional Filipino restaurants but incorporates all flavors tastefully. I tried the lumpia sliders (5/5) which, no, aren't just lumpia rolls in two buns. Instead of ground meat, the burger patty itself is made with the lumpia filling, and topped with an aioli, sweet chili sauce, and lumpia wrapper. It was delicious and I'm definitely going to be back for this one. The truffle fries (5/5) were also a hit! I loved the little truffle taste, just a level above subtle so you taste it without it feeling overwhelming. Some of my favorite truffle fries that I've had. They also have a variety of other items, my friends got the ribs are really enjoyed them. You can take items to the brewery next door and enjoy them with a drink. Only open half of the week for lunch and dinner, you'll need to plan your trip out to old Union City and get a taste of their nightly offerings and occasional specials. What seems like a family-run business with close ties to the city, is literally a local watering hole due to its shared space with Bird Haus, the long standing bar and beer garden and brings in the community for special events like open mic or game nights. Influenced heavily by their Filipino and Hawaiian backgrounds, the chefs cook up some amazingly flavored and hearty meals definitely big enough to share but certainly will stuff up the hungriest of them all. Getting here isn't the easiest due to the congested main roads leading up the small, busy streets of old town and parking isn't the most abundant however free street parking is relatively accessible within a short couple minutes of walking. Once you've been situated, head into the storefront to place your order before going into the outdoor dining area to sit (they also have a few small tables inside as well). The menu is relatively simple - just a few items so you know their focus is on point and the food will come out spectacular. A few options for small bites and snacks but the highlights for me are the entrees, including their guava glazed ribs, ox tail fried rice, and beef ribs over rice. Each of the meals are a bit expensive but they're huge in portions and big in flavor. Guava glazed ribs - sweet yet tangy marinated, fall off the bone ribs over a generous portion of rice is sure to fill you up but leave you wanting to come back for more, assuming your stomach still has space! Ox tail fried rice - good portion of shreds of ox tail meat tossed into fried rice and topped with a fried egg. Good mix of protein in this dish and the flavors and textures make this a fun and easy meal to devour on your own or to share with another. This is also great for hangovers and perhaps a meal to prevent them too. Beef ribs - this specialty seemingly only offered seldomly was a highlight! The massive, slow cooked ribs were succulent to the bite and few right off the bone. With a side of pickled veggies and shrimp chips on a bed of white rice, there was a good balance in texture, flavor, and food groups. This was also a very shareable entree but I can totally imagine eating this all up when hunger strikes. The staff were all very friendly and thoughtful. Many of them are locals as well so community members are almost like family as they come strolling through. Needless to say, smiles and good vibes are contagious here and you'll come out a happy camper. And if you're really looking to represent, they have swag like shirts, totes and stickers for sale. Overall, Da Good Vibes is, as the name suggests, a place to have a good time. Characterized by welcoming locals, great smells and tastes, and a casual beer garden to bask in the glow of the east bay sun, Da Good Vibes is yet another gem within this small town. Stumbled upon this place because I was tagging along with a friend to meet another friend! So glad I gave this place a try! Sliders were pretty good in my opinion but it really messes with you mind because you're expecting to bite into a burger but then it taste like lumpia! I think rather than sliders it would be good in the form of a burger like having the lettuce tomatoes and onion to help balance out the crunchy lumpia wrap. The fries on the other hand sooooo good I can't even explain! The crunch and seasoning of the fries were perfectly balanced! The nachos we got were mediocre. Def was expecting more of a poke topping than cooked fish. Maybe I was too full from the fries and sliders to really enjoy the nachos. But give it a shot if you're feeling adventurous. read more

We arrived on a Friday at around 7pm. First off the staff is super friendly and super helpful. Since this is our first time here we had a lot of questions. If you like Filipino fusion bar food type meals... then this is the place. Not only is the food good but the portions are definitely not small. What's more surprisingly was that we got our food 10-15 after we ordered.. super fast. The outside sitting also has a bar where you can order some adult beverages and the ambience is very laid back. Only complaint is that the adobo fried chicken did not have the strong adobo taste. My "lumpia" sliders were delicious -- thick peppery ground pork patties topped with a lumpia wrapper crisp and a nice atchara slaw in place of a pickle. Truffle fries were served piping hot. This is fine dining quality food served at food truck prices. Newly opened, it's a fresh spot with all the great energy of an eager crew minus the shakiness of most new establishments. These folks know what they're doing. Staff speak with confidence about the menu. This place was so good that it will go on my regular food rotation. We end up getting food from here about half the time we come for a drink at the neighboring Birdhaus. They are able to make a couple items vegetarian by substituting tofu, which is always perfectly cooked with a nice crunch on the outside. My favorite is the nachos as they go perfectly with a beer, but the tofu over rice and the sliders are other good options. Bites: Mama's Guava Glazed Pork Ribs(18) -not planning to order but..The Hawaiian music, the cool vibes, an hidden force, ordertaker's mellowness moved me. Haven't ate ribs commercially for years/a decade. Even picked up a knife & fork... -ordered. Got in 7 minutes. The truffle shrimp fries were BOMB. The guava glaze potent not sugary. Ribs exterior crispy, crunchy, innards semi-dry. Told cashier when asked. Passed on extra guava sauce when he offered. -soon cashier co-chef gave me a free sample of bbq beef. Included was 2 pieces ribs. -beef was short rib: so tender. The new rib meat was so tender, falling off the bone. So sublime. Blown away. I've been coming here for a while and this place has such good food! The spam fries were my fav and they recently changed chefs so it's now umami crab fried. Those fries were really yummy, but the oxtail nachos were the star! I loved the crunch of the nachos and the toppings on the nachos. Came here on Saturday with friends and had such a great time! Service was friendly and place is pretty small but you can bring it to the brewery. The food was perfect to pair with our beers. The lumpia sliders were spot on, they really taste like lumpia and the fries stayed crispy the whole time. Dined here on a Friday night around 6:30pm. Ordered their nachos and chili over rice for $33 with tax. We also ordered their guava glazed pork ribs for $18 plus tax. They don't have a lot of traditional Filipino food in the menu. You have the option to dine inside da good vibes or outside in the beer garden beside this restaurant (Birdhaus). They have tables inside the restaurant but most of the customers were dining outside in the birdhaus. Food was tasty. The chili on top of the nachos was a little salty but the nacho chips evened out the taste. The chili over rice was ok, the chili over the rice and the chili for the nachos tasted the same. The chili tasted like there was some corned beef on it. The ribs were delicious, my husband loved it. For me, the ribs were a little dry, but it was tasty and delicious. Our dining experience was good, it was relaxing because the birdhaus had live music. I came across Da Good Vibes Eats food truck at the 2023 Tacotopia event in San Diego. While the 2023 Tacotopia event itself was absolute garbage, this food truck was the hero of the day and helped to serve customers until the end of the event even though all other taco vendors ran out of food or left an hour into general admission attendees arriving. Pros: -hard working staff -the staff members apologized that we had to wait over an hour to get a taco from them (no fault of theirs, it was the organizers that set all vendors up for failure). Cons: -none Overall, I feel bad that this was their first Tacotopia experience. I hope they get their money from the event organizers (I hope we all do for this falsely advertised event). Guava Ribs!!! Definitely memorable So, a good friend asked me to come try out another of our friend's food truck. Da Good Vibes. Sitting outside Second Chance Brewery on Thursdays until 9pm, could not find parking at 5:10pm. LoL. The brewery is a brewery that loves dogs. Which is Kewl Kewl. Da Good Vibes. I spent a good part of my day looking at their menu prior to being in actual attendance. Upon browsing, it quickly dawned on me that I was staring at the promise of Filipino cuisine. Elevated presentation of the Philippines Islands soul food. Adobo Fried Wings Guava Ribs Lumpia Sliders Definitely jumped out at me. I treated myself to a plethora of created takes on foods that brought nostalgia and timeless tradition. I really enjoyed the concept of the Adobo Fried Wings and hoped that I could get the adobo "Nom Nom," sauce in a dipping side. The rice definitely soaked up the juices. All complimented by fresh made shrimp chips. It was good. What made me NEED to return were the Guava Ribs. Whoa! Sweet and tangy melded with the blow torched grill ribs. Meat was tender and well cared for during the cooking process, because each bite left me going, "damn it I forgot to taste it!" Also on a bed of rice, which made my life twice as good! If you never had Filipino food with white rice where the sauce that makes you love the bite is soaked up by the rice to give you a combo attack, I cringed with regret for you.
