Adobo Rice Squid Adubo Sisig with an egg
    Roger R.

Ate Maria was a great server. The food was sooo good and hits the spot when you're craving Filipino food. I was craving adobo rice and sisig and my buddy was craving adobo squid. If you get adobo squid get white rice but I thought it was still good with adobo rice. Will definitely be back.

Had a fun evening celebrating their 20th anniversary with a band, raffle prizes, and trivia. They were fully packed but food still came to the table hot, and service was very friendly and accommodating to allergies. Come for an entertaining evening on the weekends!

Came for the halo halo and still as good as I remember. Just wish it was bigger for the price. Service was quick and plenty of seating during the time we came.

Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking . Place wasn't busy but took about 10 mins to get seated . Service was very slow but food came out fast . Orders the fried chicken which was ok. Tasted like jolly bees but more expensive. The vegetable lumpia's were good. New to the menu. First time back since they remodeled. I like the open space concept . Between the slow service and mediocre food don't think I will be back.

I've been to this place for the past 20+ years, since 2010 when i learned about it from my yelp friends. i always come back during the weekend for the live music. i brought many other friends and families to share my enjoyment of live music & food. food is mediocre, fusion. presentation looks nice but tastes okay, nothing spectacular...but then again, i go there for the vibes. besides the food. my recent visit brought a sour taste. pun intended. i never look at my receipt after i pay. i looked this time because they're doing a 70 anniversary celebration and each receipt that spend over $50 gets to enter the drawing for prizes. anyhow...to get to the point...the suggested Tip Guide on the receipt for 18%=$13.50 and my Total Tips charged was $14.95. the difference amount is not alarming but there shouldn't be any difference periodt. if they have done this to me, and everyone else who hadn't noticed. it's so wrong. someone explain to me why this is? needless to say. i feel scammed. i will check out Tribu Grill. i heard they offered similar vibes. goodbye Gerry's. it's been nice. i won't go there again unless someone twist my arms. *photo attached*

    Crispy Pata

Came by on a rainy Sunday around 2 PM, and the place was fairly empty--which was actually quite nice. The restaurant is spacious and well-suited for family gatherings or parties. On top of that, the food was solid overall. I ordered the Crispy Pata and the Sizzling Bangus Sisig. The Bangus Sisig wasn't quite to my liking; I've heard the Pork Sisig is much better, so I'm looking forward to trying that next time. The Crispy Pata, on the other hand, was excellent--super crispy, with meat that was tender and not dry at all. Parking was also very convenient in the plaza. Overall, a great experience, and I would definitely come back.

Having eaten Filipino food my whole life, I'd say Gerry's is quality and authentic. On the pricier side but portions are generous! That goes for its modern atmosphere too with live music and good sized bar with Red Horse on tap, San Miguel beer towers, and happy hour! Can't wait to take my parents. Lol

Standard garlic rice for $3.50 per bowl (3 bowls)

I give this place a solid 3.5*, food is good, service is weird. And the ambience is nice for a more formal dining experience. On our trip here we got the sizzling pork sisig and the bangus (milk fish) sizzling sisig. The obvious choice was going to be the bangus, very flavorful. We also picked up some garlic rice. Unfortunately, my gripe with this place isn't the food itself but more of the portion size for what you get. I felt like we got 80% of what their picture on the menu is for the food. Both dishes came out way smaller than what I thought for $22 each? Huh? I will say that this place is a chain, but there's much better options in my opinion for food especially in this range. Also their crispy pata is $32+? Huh? That's super expensive for pata The restaurant was completely empty minus 2 other families and they put us all next to each other in the back of restaurant which is a little weird. Servers weren't really around to grab or request for more water either. Food: 4/5 Service: 2/5 Value: 2.5/5

2 hours wait for fried tofu

Jerry's had me questioning if they were growing the rice from scratch in the back. Two hours for appetizer + main dish is insane. At some point it stops being "busy" and starts being a hostage situation. Side note: good luck to everyone still waiting for food while the garage band is playing so loud you can't even hear your waiter or your own partner say a peep

Garlic rice, Fried calamari, crispy pata, bangus fish, lechon kawali, pork sisig
    Gabriela O.

Gerry's Grill in Union City is honestly the best Filipino restaurant I've had so far. I always come back for their crispy pata, pork sisig, and lechon kawali--all so good. The bangus is tasty too, though it can be a bit dry on some days. I've also tried the grilled squid, fried calamari, beef sinigang, pork BBQ skewers, and halo-halo, and everything's been solid. My go-to orders are the pork sisig, crispy pata, and garlic rice. Ambience and space are great, service is decent, and wait time is reasonable. Definitely coming back. Ratings: Crispy Pata 5/5 Pork Sisig 4.8/5 Lechon Kawali 4.6/5 Grilled Squid 4/5 Pork BBQ Skewers 4/5 Beef Sinigang 4/5

Service was very nice and fairly quick. Looks like they play live music most nights which is nice! The crispy pata (3.5/5) is good but could be crispier and more flavorful imo. Maybe next time I'd try the lechon kawali and see how that compares. The pork bbq (3/5) was not good--it doesn't have much sauce and is not very sweet.

This is a good Filipino food place in Union City. Service was prompt and server was friendly. The food was all good but the dessert even better. Wash that all of that with a tower of beer.

I came here with my family expecting a better Outback Steakhouse but it ended up even better than I expected They pick up the rolls for your table as they're walking you to the table with their famous honey butter. So you have food to eat the second you're sat. They also have free peanuts on the table Because it was our first time we went a little crazy with the appetizers. We got potato skins, rattlesnake bites, a cactus blossom and firecracker shrimp. The skins were cheesy, loaded with bacon and the perfect ratio of potato to topping. The rattlesnake bites are these mini fried cheddar jalapeño poppers. The spice is subtle but the jalapeño flavor really comes through. The cactus blossom I did wish had a bit more seasoning. I'm used to the Blooming Onion where the entire breading is thoroughly seasoned. It was well salted at least, I was just looking for more flavor. The horseradish dipping sauce helped a lot with that though. Finally the firecracker shrimp is a solid "bang bang" shrimp app. The shrimp were crispy and juicy on the inside. The sauce reads more creamy than spicy but still a nice compliment especially with the potato sticks under the shrimp soaking up that sauce For my entree I ordered the ribeye and grilled shrimp combo and I opted for the grilled mushroom & onion add on. It came with two sides so I got mashed potatoes with gravy and a Caesar salad. Let me tell you that first bite of steak completely melted in my mouth and I was shook. I'd never seen a casual chain restaurant nail a steak like that. I will say the fatty parts got chewier as the dish cooked down. But overall the steak was tender and generously seasoned. The mushrooms and onions were well seasoned too and the combo with the mashed potatoes was delicious. The grilled shrimp were decently cooked but the lemon butter sauce really carries it. They're served on top of garlic toasts that soak up the sauce but keep their toasty edges. The Caesar was your average Caesar, nothing more, nothing less. We were way too full to order dessert and each had a full plate of leftovers to bring home. Overall we were really happy with our experience here. And the bill ended up being cheaper than we were expecting for everything we ordered. We had a one year old with us and the staff was kind and accommodating the entire time. While Texas Roadhouse is a bit of a drive for us it was definitely worth the trip!

If you want to eat at a place that has good quality and a big enough portion to either share or take home for leftovers then this is the place to go. There were some notable things that we stumbled across in our dining experience. I had noticed that one of the utensils wasn't washed properly so there was a dried up piece of vegetable or something stuck on it. Also I requested my burger to be cooked medium but when I received my order, it was more so well done with no pink in the middle. One of the two pork chop was cooked great, while the other was a little dry and chewy. Regardless, these were things that didn't warrant calling over a server. The thing that mainly put a stain for our restaurant outing at Skillet'z was the service. Upon walking in we were not greeted with a friendly welcoming and when seated they quickly walked away. The lady who took our order did not even look like she wanted to be there, granted I understand that nobody really enjoys having to go to work but if you need to interact with customers, maybe this isn't the occupation for you. While we were eating there was not a single time that anyone came up to us to ask us how we were doing, if we needed anything, or how the food was. There was a moment where it was someone's birthday at another table and I don't think I've ever heard a more unenthusiastic and monotone announcement for a birthday and a lame excuse for a birthday song. They're not going to bother with dropping off a check/bill for the meal so you need to go up to the counter to pay for the food. Once you step up to the counter keep in mind that more than likely you will encounter a rude interaction and a feeling that you were inconveniencing them. Overall I'll more than likely eat from here again, primarily for the food. But maybe next time we'll consider just taking out to go.
