Delicious freshly baked señorita breads!!! Empanadas are also tasty. Also bought some pork skins for my family to try. Also tasty!

Ling Nam recently opened in Mr. kebabs' space. Infrastructure similar. 5ish tables for dining in. Only bakery items now. Unknown when the rest of the offerings will be available. Ate these comfort foods decades ago. Not much recently due to sugar and carbohydrates contents. Serviced at counter. Pd. Got goods in minutes. Offerings (Filipino): senority bread, empanadas, chicarones, siopa (buns), drinks, desserts, garlic peanuts. Bites: senority bread .8O each. -size a lot smaller than before. 1/2 size. Haven't had in many years -sweet tasting, soft innards, slight crispy outer texture. Beef empanada (4.50) -tasty beef fillings. Flaky outer texture. Smaller than its cousins. Ube Halaya (12) -mildly sweet thick pudding dessert. Made from smashed purple yams, sugar, milk(coconut & evaporated). 4.5 stars semi-worthy. Prompt service. Quality: excellent. Quantity: reasonable.

Had my husband pick up a box of 40, and he also came home with empanadas and garlic peanuts. My Señorita bread cravings are finally satisfied! The Señorita bread was soft, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet which is perfect with an afternoon cup of tea or a cold glass of milk. I also had a bite of the empanada while my husband enjoyed his with a Coke. There's just something about an empanada and an ice-cold Coke, a classic pairing that never gets old. I'm so glad they finally opened a location closer to home. I still wish they had chosen the South Bay, but maybe it's for the best for the sake of my diet.

Soft opening. Took over the Mr kebab

They are currently in their soft opening and have the offerings of their bakery and not the full restaurant like in Daly City. The seniorita bread is 80 cents each now. (I think Starbread is also the same now). I miss the days where they were dirt cheap but still as addictive. Currently you can buy seniorita bread, empanadas, chicharon, flan, siopao, and drinks. Maybe they'll expand to offer the others in the future. The inside still more or less looks like the Mr kebab so there is seating. They were also handing out samples of the seniorita bread.

I was so excited to hear that Ling Nam Union City is finally opening closer to home! They're currently in their soft opening and are already serving their famous Señorita Bread, Empanada, and Siopao. No more driving all the way to Daly City just to satisfy those cravings! I definitely got my Señorita Bread fix--I ate two pieces before I even started my car! I'm hoping they'll eventually get approval to serve more menu items. For now, I learned this location operates as an express store rather than a full-service restaurant like the Daly City branch. The staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly, making the visit even better. Wishing the Union City team a successful opening!

I am giving this a 2 star for the senorita bread. I was a little disappointed as the senorita bread wasn't piping hot. It wasn't even warm least to say. It's now where close to their Daly City location. Even at Starbread, they are piping hot when you get them. I was very excited when I heard the announcement that they are opening one in Union City because now I do t have to drive to Daly City. Parking was very easy to find. Store is very clean. Customer service is very friendly and I give it a 5 star.

Seniorita bread was dry. Needed more buttery sweetness.

Third visit on Saturday, August 8th. Finally was able to pick up both of their chicharon by going in at 8:30am. The other two times I went at 9am and 10:30am and everything was sold out, though I think it was due to limited on-hand. Tried the pork, which was a little hard, but not as salty as others that I've tried. Will probably buy it again since my husband likes to add it to some Filipino dishes for crunch and texture. Sadly, the seniorita bread from this visit missed the mark. Needed more butter and sugar. Bread was dry! I purchased 20 and still have 12 left as of Monday. Two stars for the bread. I may have to butter them myself or drizzle with condensed milk. The seniorita bread from my first two visits were way better.

    Sam Q.

Senorita bread is always yummy! I wanted to try more things but almost everything was sold out (understandable since the store is new) so maybe I'll go again sometime

    Senorita bread.

Freshly baked bread and good customer service. The guy in the front is very friendly. I'm glad they opened in Union City.

Seniorita bread - fresh and hot!

We've honestly never had a bad meal here, everything we've ordered has been delicious. My absolute favorites are the Adobong Pusit and the Sisig, and the Lechon Kawali is another must-try. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend starting with those dishes. One thing we also love is that there's always something happening. On Thursdays and Fridays they serve Filipino street food outside, and on weekends they offer buffets and often have live music, making every visit feel like a little celebration. We've been to all three Isla locations, but the Newark restaurant is still our favorite because it's the closest to us. All other options I found to be rather mediocre and not worth getting again. Perhaps they were short-staffed when we arrived but it was hard to find a server to request anything. They were all in the back and only came out to bring out the food. We waited too long to ask for containers or the check. 20% gratuity was automatically applied and the total came out to almost $500. The meal wouldn't have been very enjoyable if not for the company so I don't think this was worth it. I may consider coming back just for the sisig.

I'm gonna check with my NorCal moots about this but sucks if that's true. I was going to comment on how this is one of few bastions of affordable, slightly more unique food in the bay area, but I guess that's not the case. I'm spoiled by having a Dollar Hits in SoCal literally down the street from me so I can't say this place compares, but it's at least an option for NorCal, you know? This definitely used to be another restaurant, but then retrofitted to be a grill. Super large grill in the middle for everyone to communally cook at indoors. This is a good combination between the outdoors grill it yourself and the indoors seating of both the SoCal Dollar Hits, so I thought that was nice. They have all the classics here, isaw (sometimes Dollar Hits doesn't have this unless you request -it's chicken intestines), large intestines, chicken skin, kwek kwek (battered quail eggs), and Tender Juicy bright red filipino hot dogs (a must). You can also order a side of rice and the sauces were self serve (made it a bit sticky). It gets a bit smoky in there even with the fans, but overall had an enjoyable time the time when I did visit.

It had been about a year since I last visited, and I was glad to see that prices hadn't changed at all. The highlight here for me has always been their lumpia--or at least, it used to be. It was once fried to golden perfection, with just the right amount of loose wrapper that gave extra-crispy edges (if you know, you know). Looking back at older photos, the lumpia had a noticeably deeper golden-brown hue compared to the lighter version I received this time, as well as seemed a bit longer in size. This made me sad; but it was still good, just no longer exceptional. In addition, the broasted chicken has always been just decent; the skin is great but the meat on the inside is always a bit dry and definitely requires some gravy or sauce to dip it in. Despite the lumpia switch-up, prices are still unbeatable for the bay, so I'd come back. I did notice that they seemed to have a new cook in the back, so here's to hoping that next time, the lumpia reverts back to the way it was!
